The swimming pool in your backyard or condominium contains a common chemical used in your house for disinfecing and cleaning. In the past, when I was young, went weekly to the Chinese Swimming Club. Constantly the shower area would be damp and wet. But surprisingly, there is totally no greenish / black algae found anywhere in the dressing / bathing area. This is because, chlorine, the chemical used in the swimming pool kills most bacteria and it controls algae. Today, some of the cleaning liquids contains the simple chemical chlorine. And instead of scraping furiously to remove algae from a toilet. Just spray on the chlorine and presto! Algae growth halts in it's roots - totally - for a while that is... So, you think that swimming pool of yours is clean? Many swimming pools have additional chemicals not found in this simple chlorine. Urea! This is a real life case study involving blocks of flats that are symbollically joined" together. In addition, the swimming pool can be considered as a stagnant pool of water since, there is minimal interaction of the water with its surrounding. This development has two miserable, water spouts located at locations marked `B' that spouts very little water into the pool. Please go thru this graphic illustration, to have an understanding of the problems. Here, it is said that the Dragon Qi cannot flow in and out of this development. If the developers were `smart' they should make a `hole' at the centre of this U shape. Much like the earlier condo reviewed i.e. The Sterling Condominium (as a reference). Or space the condo like the Cote D'azur or The Tropica. The Tropical is in a u shaped configuration. And other than the back blocks, many of the blocks are distinctively individual blocks not joined together. This forms the basis of dragon qi flowing harmoniously within development. If you are new and have time, do search for The Sterling The Tropica for more ideas of what I meant (above). Warmest Regards, Cecil

Finding the Centerpoint or Center-of-gravity
Cecil Lee posted a topic in Feng Shui Tips & Guidelines
Appended by Cecil Lee: After reading the above article, does anyone know whether is there any relevance to Feng Shui? Make a guess.. Source & Credit: Todayonline.com http://www.todayonline.com/Voices/EDC120423-0000044/All-open-spaces-should-not-be-part-of-floor-area All open spaces should not be part of floor area Letter from Kelvin Chan Yong Meng 04:45 AM Apr 23, 2012 I refer to the letter "Air-con ledges should not be part of floor area" (April 16) and agree that unusable floor areas such as air-conditioner ledges should be removed from the total floor area of units sold. The authorities should also look at the trend of even larger, unusable spaces that have been conveniently included in floor areas. Balconies, planter boxes and terraces seem to be taking up a rising percentage of floor area, despite homes shrinking in size. I believe this trend stems from the fact that such spaces are part of the total gross floor area. This is being exploited by developers, who are the only ones who benefit from this as, logically, their cost per square foot (psf) of these areas is lower than that of liveable areas. What is worse is that developers do not separately state the floor area of such open areas and instead quietly include it in the total floor area, treating it as a liveable area. Open balconies and terraces are of no use to residents, who are unable to build any shelter or enclosure in the spaces they have purchased, leaving them at the mercy of our unpredictable weather. Planter boxes, on the other hand, are essentially water troughs in our wet weather and thus contribute nothing towards our fight against mosquito breeding. Developers are, however, allowed to build and sell them at the same psf cost as liveable areas, even though they seldom, if at all, come with more than a metal railing and floor tiles. Yes, balconies, terraces and planters are essential to keeping green spaces in our concrete jungle. But they must not be exploited by developers as a method to maximise profits at the expense of buyers. This practice should be stopped soon, before home buyers end up paying for more unusable, rather than liveable, spaces. -- END OF QUOTE -- Source & Credit: Todayonline.com -
Finding the Centerpoint or Center-of-gravity
Cecil Lee posted a topic in Feng Shui Tips & Guidelines
For some of us, we will never associate this article with Feng Shui. Read on... This article is a good reminder that when we try to find the centerpoint or center-of-gravity especially a home, we always try to consider (as far as possible) only the liveable spaces. As far as possible (other than all those odd layouts with lots of indents and protrusions) often the garage, balcony(s) and exterior non-liveable spaces should be left out. Next time, when one plot the centerpoint, just remember this article. -
Please refer to this recent link: http://forum.geomancy.net/phpforum/article.php?bid=2&fid=6&mid=31370&new= Which I added the following advice to another user:- === START == Further to what I had mentioned earlier, you could perhaps see if any of the following helps or not:- (In no correct order) 1. If you do apply some cures: The Customer Engineer Concept 2. Fix-the-Leak, First! Often your apartment should have at least two or easily three major issues. You really need to find out the correct issues or problems. Most common mistake is to take the easy way out and be taken in into buying useless commercial products in the name of Feng Shui. This is like for some; overeating to try to overcome or let them forget their problems. 3. Feng Shui Triage Reminder: If there is no proper trouble-shooting; Garbage in garbage out. 4. The Concept of Maximizing Marks This is mathematics of scoring points. Hopefully from a - D or - F to a pass or better! 5. No amount of written text as what you had written, can reveal what are the actual issues or problems. == END == You wrote: Some like 5 2 7 2 5 On my living room southeast, and I really dont like the idea that moust of feng shui adviser gives, of avoid this place, dont go there, sleep in another room... How true. Similiar thinking with this link:- You Stay There! We (Geomancers) Don't! If you are into DIY Feng Shui, then what I mentioned above and the various links are based on Applied Feng Shui: Real experience, Real life situations. Frankly, you really can't find such things in one single Feng Shui book or books.Furthermore, most books (if any) teaches how to calculate and either stops there or very vague or no info into cures. Thus, my advice is for those who wants to DIY, one way is to (no choice) Use the search feature for similar topics. I have keep all the resources in this forum since 1999 and they are easily searchable using the TOP-LEFT frame of this forum. In addition, Google robots update and if you use the above search feature and type in what you think you want to know; the more intuitive and accurate the search comes out. For example, sometimes I cant' remember the actual link or there are too many, I will use the Top-Left frame search feature and type in things like " SW by ranking " etc...

The Six Pillars of Ba Zi, Today 1. In the past, traditional ba zi uses EIGHT pillars: Year, Month, Day, Hour, House of Life and House of Conception + TWO more for the DEAD 2. Today, the most detailed bazi uses SIX pillars: Year, Month, Day, Hour, House of Life and House of Conception 3. Why Six pillars and not Four or Eight pillars? 3.1. There is less of a need to evaluate the HISTORY = Dead this is why Eight pillars are no longer required or obsolete. 3.2 Many Geomancers still use only Four Pillars: Year, Month, Day and Hour as this is much easier to calculate. 3.3 But the trade-off is that it is less accurate as two more pillars each with two variables: Heavely stem and Early branches. 4. Although, the word Ba Zi is generic, but very often, 8 out of 10 Ba Zi analysis are off-the mark or can be seriously WRONG!

1. Please note that the attached chart should be considered only as a general guideline. 2. For example: 2.1. Between 2010 to 2020, an individual has a very high percentage of e.g. Wood = 60%. 2.2. Since wood element is associated with: pancrea, live and bile; e.g. this person may have one of the conditions e.g. diabetes or might be at a high risks of e.g. Type 2 diabetes. 3. However, please take note, whenever in doubt, please consult your doctor. The attached should not be taken as "bible" material.

This illustration shows the various associations: 1. Metal = Nose, Throat, Respiratory Tract and Lungs 2. Water = Kidney, Sex Organs (Male & Female) Includes: the breasts 3. Wood = Pancreas (Diabettes) , Liver and Bile 4. Fire = Heart will affect the Brain 5. Earth = Stomach, colon, intestines and anus (The entire digestive tract)

1. Our individual ba zi can actually indicate which areas to look out for. 2. In each of the 10 year periods, sometimes the percentages will change accordingly. Your Five Element Breakdown 0 Extremely Weak Water 2 Weakest Wood 2 Weak Fire 5 Strongest Earth 3 Strong Metal 0% 8% 12% 53% 25% You have a very unbalanced Five Element distribution. Often, this produces signs of a person with several possible health problems. You have 0% Water element. This often signify possible Health related problems to the Kidney and Sex Organ. You have 53% Earth element. This often signify possible Health related problems to the Stomach and Intestine. Having too much Earth may sometimes lead to indirect health issues related to Kidney and Sex Organ (Water element). The ideal balance of each element is generally 20% of each element. However, it is difficult to achieve exactly 20% of each element. This is because it is difficult to know exactly how much of each element you have at any point in time. So as long as you have more of your favourable elements, you will improve your balance and harmony. Changes in your Five Element Balance for 21 - 30 (2031 - 2040) Water Wood Fire Earth Metal 6 % 5 % 37 % 33 % 16 % Changes in your Five Element Balance for 31 - 40 (2041 - 2050) Water Wood Fire Earth Metal 0 % 4 % 7 % 60 % 14 % For this male person; between his 31 years of age to 40; he has to be careful of especially his stomach, intestine and colon area as his earth element is highly unbalanced i.e. 60 percent!

As mentioned based purely on a top-view Shapes and Forms: 1. the service road that is parallel to the condo plot is not an issue. 2.As the plot where you had marked is not threatened by any service or public road. 3.Thefrontage of the condo is unblocked: more good than bad. As there is alarge clear space.Minor issue is that there is no blockages thus shouldit be windy, there is nothing to block the wind blowing strongly towards the face. 4. Plot of land at a corner is subject to another science of Feng Shui. 4.1 Here, one must imagine that rainfall will fall onto the plot of land and often if the DROP at A andC are open drainage, depending on this; some apartment units may be inauspicious orunlucky. 4.2 Drainage of plot of land e.g. see sample attachment. 5. These are some of the external considerations....

SOURCE & CREDIT: http://news.bbc.co.uk/2/hi/health/3025796.stm Chinese 'takes more brainpower' Speaking Chinese may take more brainpower than speaking English, a study suggests. Researchers in Britain have found that people who speak Mandarin Chinese use both sides of their brain to understand the language. The researchers said the findings could boost understanding of how the brain processes languages. This, in turn, could one day help scientists to develop better ways of helping people to re-learn languages after a stroke or similar damage to the brain. This compares to English-language speakers who only need to use one side of their brain. Brain scans Dr Sophie Scott and colleagues at the Wellcome Trust carried out brain scans on a group of Mandarin and English speakers. They found that the left temporal lobe, which is located by the left temple, becomes active when English speakers hear English. People who speak different sorts of languages use their brains to decode speech in different ways Dr Sophie Scott, Wellcome Trust The researchers believe that this area of the brain links speech sounds together to form individual words. They expected similar findings when they carried out scans on Mandarin speakers. However, they found that both their left and right temporal lobes become active when they hear Mandarin. "People who speak different sorts of languages use their brains to decode speech in different ways," said Dr Scott. "It overturned some long-held theories." Mandarin is a notoriously difficult language to learn. Unlike English, speakers use intonation to distinguish between completely different meanings of particular words. For instance, the word "ma" can mean mother, scold, horse or hemp depending on how it is said. The researchers believe that this need to interpret intonation is why Mandarin speakers need to use both sides of their brain. The right temporal lobe is normally associated with being able to process music or tones. "We think that Mandarin speakers interpret intonation and melody in the right temporal lobe to give the correct meaning to the spoken words," said Dr Scott. "It seems that the structure of the language you learn as a child affects how the structure of your brain develops to decode speech. "Native English speakers, for example, find it extraordinarily difficult to learn Mandarin." Learning languages Dr Scott said the findings could help scientists to understand how the brain learns language. It could be particularly useful in trying to understand how it re-learns language after a stroke. She suggested it could also lead to new drugs to help people who have lost their language skills. "There is evidence from other studies that certain drugs affect learning in the brain regions that support hearing and speech," she said. "This is something we can improve on." Dr William Marslen-Wilson, of the MRC Cognition and Brain Sciences Unit at Cambridge University, welcomed the study. "It is an interesting finding," he told BBC News Online. "Looking at languages that are very different from each other helps us to understand how the brain processes language. "It can also help us to understand language rehabilitation," he said. "This field is really opening up but it is very early days." The findings will be included in the summer science exhibition at the Royal Society in London, which runs from 1 to 3 July.

These are some considerations: 1. If you have read much information then; you could do a quick check on Shapes and Forms Feng Shui, (first). 2. Under Shapes and Forms, some of the major considerations include : whether there are any openings e.g. opening a main door leading towards a window or balcony "opening". 2.1 And any external threats to your apartment e.g. low floor : tree trunk etc... 2.2 Any missing corners You wrote: "(is my bedroom), as well as the fame/reputation area(is my bathroom)." 3. Hopefully you not onlyknow how to plot a Flying Star chart but also now how to either enhance good sectors and neutralise bad qi. 3.1 Hopefully, you don't apply information from sites that apply only Fixed Template "Fung Sway" as opposed to Flying Star and (Eight House). 4. It would be good if (your ba zi is taken into consideration). 5. Frankly, I really don't know how to put it. Simply; if one tries to cut corners, it will no longer be effective. 6. Alternatively, if you think you have major issues and don't know how to redress them; then DIY may not be the path to take.......may have to seek those expert help.

These are some considerations: 1. It depends. 2. In some premises be it a home or office; if SE sector has poor flying star numbers, it would be worse off then perhaps a home that has what you had described. 3. In addition, some P8 SE3 homes have a water postion at the frontage of the home. If so, again this is a plus point or added bonus. 3.1. Here, just make sure that all the five elements are found at the water postion. Under the Five elements concept, such a water feature is considered as a "all weather friend".Please note that I am not asking you to place a water position at your frontage. Asin somehomes, one can't even place a water position due to space or other constraints. So don't ask me, Can I, Can I place a water feature? 3.2 In times of good it is extremely beneficial; while in times of bad as what you had mentioned; it is used to help reduce or negate the bad Year + month influence. 3.3 In reality; this is like a built in buffer. 3.4 For example, some doctors recommend an elderly person that a bit of "fat" on their body is OK. Because should that person fall ill or shun food; then they have some BUFFER in their body. 4. The other senario is that of the concept of Qi. 4.1 Here, often, we hear of things like: "lock up the stars"; "stars are trapped in the centre" etc... 4.2 In Feng Shui, if one has a habit of leaving the main entrance at SE; for this Lunar Year, one should consider slam shut the main entrance once having entered the home. 5. As mentioned under Para 4, Flying Star is about qi flow. 5.1 And even if one were to make a proper comment, one would have to look at the home's chart, see where are the opening (openings if any) in relation to the cardinal points especially how or when or can qi come into the home or apartment. 5.2 How big is the opening (eg. door or window) , how often one closes the opening and where is the actual SE sector. 5.3 In addition, what is at the frontage e.g. is there another obstruction e.g. a neighbour's frontage in close proximity etc.. thus again IT DEPENDS. 6. Often when one calls for a fullFeng Shui audit; the geomancer would have already studied the 20 Year Flying Star chart of a home and make improvements either to neutralise bad stars and /or enhance good qi (where applicable). 6.1. Here, the geomancer or if DIY; should have looked into each sectorand often, if done properly this would often allow leeway (buffer). 6.2. As often, manyeither can't afford to do a yearlyFeng Shui review or may find itunpractical to do so for each year and month. Frankly, not many are too free to dosuch things. 6.3. Even a Feng Shui fanatic would lose interest or have other pressingissues or concerns of directions to pursue. 6.4 Thus frankly, I have yet to come across a Feng Shui NUT or rather fanatic who has continuously throughout their lives; year by year; month by monthplot the flying stars of their home. 6.5 Hmmm.. maybe you could be the first? Perhaps an intro in one's blog: " I am a 36 year old male. I have been judiciously plotting flying stars : 20 Yrs, Year and month since 25! And I may be the first to do so until I can't do it anymore!"

This are some considerations: 1. In today's real world, real people, real careers; be prepared to have such things like what you mentioned not purely belonging to just one element but can also most likely represent : especially TWO or (even more) elements. 2. Thus, the old mindset of: sloting an industry into only ONE single element is "history". 3. Especially if one has some knowledge or look at a guide and figure out that this industry may belong to two elements. Does it sound reasonable? If so, you have your answer! 4. Thus in my opinion, to me, also, what you wrote sounds reasonable. 5. The term multi-tasking is common place today. So is the term: multi-skilling: where often, one does more than one function. 6. Let's draw a parallel: a generalMBA course and degreeis meant to prepare a participant to manage and especiallyGROWa company (and it's value). 6.1. Thus, the course is meant to prepare a person to manage an entire organisation. Such as becoming an MD (mad-dog) or CEO or the head of the organisation. 6.2. Some of the components of such an MBA course includes all areas of understanding of what each of your key functions (departments) does and an appreciation of it. 6.3. For example, the course put one into the shoes of: 6.3.1. Finance & Financial Management (that of understanding your CFO's function) 6.3.2. Accounting function 6.3.3. Operations Management 6.3.4. Marketing & Public Relations 6.3.5. Human Resource and Behaviour and Change Mgmt 6.3.6. and more modules 6.3.7. The course would often include: Strategic Management. 7. Thus if we look or dwell into each of the above function(s); we will realise that wow; an MD or CEO's job is like a jack of all trades. So which element should he /she be classified into? 7.1. The clue here is to determine what is the MD's major role in the company? Of course, he/she is suppose to oversee all departments in the company. BUT, his key role especially in any company is e.g. to make sure that the stocks of the company remain healthy. 7.2 Often, under performing CEOs are shown the door. 7.3. Thus, one of the key functions of a CEO /MD is Strategic Management : planning the direction of a company. Which is the WOOD (GROW the company)element. 8. So long as it makes sense, like what you said; no one can fault your interpretation. The test is "does it sound reasonable?"

1. Thanks for respecting Microsoft Corporation's intellectual property rights. The internet is not a free for all or lawless frontier. 2. Please refer to attachment. 2.1. Generally, the frontage e.g. the road leading to the condo seems acceptable under Shapes and Forms Feng Shui. 2.2. I believe the land marked in RED as "A" and in YELLOW "C" are flat land. And not a sudden drop. 2.3. If there is a sudden drop especially at marking "A"; and if no proper retaining walls; and in the event of a landslide, this is bad. 3. In fact, buildings in PURPLE "B" and GREEN "D" have poor (frontage) shapes and forms due to the road wayas shown in the arrows.

In case you do not realise: 1. Please be mind full or rather frankly, be considerate. 2. You mentioned that you appreciate that this website is so interative. 3. Yet, just imagine, pucking some raw data from some other website and ask to comment on it. 4. For example, you don't go to Google and ask them to comment on Apple's program. Likewise, you don't go to Apple's forum and ask them to comment on someone else thing. 5. Furthermore, the info you provided is so vague and I don't even know whether the raw data you uploaded is correct! 6. In fact, I can say for sure: 8 out of 10 Geomancy sites would get their Ba zi analysis ("wrong" or too superficial". http://forum.geomancy.net/phpforum/article.php?bid=2&fid=2&mid=31360&new= 7. Therefore, NO OFFENCE, please don't take advantage of this forum. And whether you take up our service or not is in material. This forum lasts so long and not whether it can motivate you or not. 8. Please exercise some respect.

1. Please note that although Ba Zi seems generic. However, ba zi can be as detailed or can be as general as this person had found out. 2. However, in my opinion, 8 out of 10 times; some geomancer would always take the easy way out to analyse a person's ba zi. 3. In this example, a person was surpised to find out that what his Master analysed is so basic that one should not call it a ba zi analysis. 4. Frankly, many so called Feng Shui masters and even nowadays, some even call themselves Grand Masters do get their ba zi analysis wrong. 5. Unfortunately, Geomancy.net end up has to "answer" to such skeptics after they realised that the reading given to them were too basic or general. 6. I reproduce this link for you to appreciate why many Masters get their ba zi analysis so very "wrong":- http://forum.geomancy.net/phpforum/article.php?bid=2&fid=2&mid=23906&new= 7. So far, there are many so called Ba zi analysis that is really so wrong (often very superficial). And Geomancy.net cannot be always, having to justify our case. 8. I can only say this "Caveat Emptor".
