  1. Please note that the Feng Shui House (Apartment) number report is meant more for apartments and not for ground level homes or townhouses. The convention of the Feng Shui House Number report should be as follows:- #01- followed by your unit number. Where #01 = ground floor #02 = means 2nd storey #03 = 3rd storey #04 = 4th storey In some countries:- Where #01 = Level 1 = groundfloor #02 = 2nd level #03 = 3rd level #04 = 4th level By whatever you call it: please enter #01, #02, #03, #25 = 25th storey...
  2. In my opinion, frankly, I am nottoo family with mostpractitioners in KL. If they have a website, you could check in onsome of their responses if they do have a forum. Best of Luck!

  4. These are some considerations: 1. Usually, rarely if any one looks at good dates especially for Hospital appointments. 2. One major consolation, thou is that overall the 15 days of Chinese New Year is considered as auspicious for the Chinese. 3. More crucial occassions are auspicious dates for weddings, moving in...
  5. In my opinion, I believe that the flamingo is a cousin (or distant cousin) of the stock. For the Chinese, the stock signifies longevity.
  6. These are some considerations: 1. From a symbolism point of view; many geomancers would often say that it is considered inauspicious to have "broken glass". 2. A few years ago, a client of mine nearly wanted to install a creative piece of two pieces of acrylic with broken glass sandwiched in-between. But, as a Chinese, on her own, she felt uncomfortable having such a piece in her home. 3. Under symbolism and a belief or conception, thus, it is considered inauspicious. 4. From a common sense approach, some again feel unease if broken glass is lying around.. for both humans especially children and pets like dogs who might just swallow them... I know this is not "possible" given that one most likely have considered safety in mind. 5. Thus, if you are handling or creating objects with broken glass; just give geomancy or "Feng Shui" a miss, here. Any co-relation with it (Feng Shui) is not advantages. 6. Fortunately, if you are in the west as opposed to in the Far East, I believe you stand a stronger chance of selling your products.
  7. These are some considerations: 1. Frankly, Rome was not built in a day. 2. The 4 Good and 4 Bad directions is suppose to be one of the easiest concepts and theories. 3. In my opinion, there are at least 6,000 forum messages on this subject alone and there tools with some guidelines. 4. You said "Is it right that East is where the sun rises so that would be the East?" 4.1. If this is the year 1200 A.D. or 1600 A.D. I can understand that there may not be compasses available to locate the caridinal point: East. 4.2. Hey! This is 2012 A.D. And compasses and even all maps have True North on them! 4.3. So what is this caveman method of finding where the sun rises? And it also depends on which part on earth one sees the East rising sun. 5. The saying goes: if you want to DIY: God helps those that help themselves. 6. Frankly, as mentioned, there are lots and lots of such resources on this subject matter and you should be self-sufficient to check it out.

Whether some Feng Shui Schools, choose to consider it (directly or in the back ground) or totally ignore it; again depends on their individual SiFu or Master. In Feng Shui and like other disciplines; often the more information or more details provided is better.
  9. 1. North = water, South = fire Generally, today; especially thanks to the internet and more information of scientific Feng Shui; this North and South "thing" should in general be considered just as a stepping stone or close to something like the Kindergarten type of Feng Shui. In some instances, it is still used much like a background understanding of a sector; but should not be the MAIN consideration. 2. As there are many indivdiuals in this world, there are many many opinions or practices by various geomancers even with the regards to Flying Stars and how to interpret them. 3. This site does not claim that there is a one best (or one super best) practise) but rather, no one should or could say that their method is superior. Thus wide claims as to say only Mountain and Water stars are important only while others also do consider the base star. 4. It is just like a person joining a Kung Fu school. If the school prescribes a certain course of action for defense and attack then, you may have to follow your own school. 5. There are always some smart alec who only recognises that theirs is the best practise. Thus if you were to I believe check around, there will be different practises throughout even Flying Stars interpretation. But be ware those with huge egos who always say that "only my method is the best"...
  10. These are futher considerations: 1. I shall not go into or drawn intothe nitty gritty of your specific sectors. 2. What I like to highlight is that Flying Star is based on time dimension. 3. For practical reasons, if we consult a geomancer, often the Geomancer would plot the 20 year flying star and also if the Feng Shui audit is in that year, also check the annual Flying Star when considering a cure. 4. As mentioned, most people don't consult a geomancer annually. Thus, again for practical reasons, the geomancer would try to balance the home Feng Shui sectors using the 20 Year mainly the two variables Mountain# and Water#. 5. Of course, if one is not Feng Shui and can even DIY yearly, then in THEORY, many Geomancers would consider the YEAR or ANNUAL star with importance. Thus, for that year, if the #8 e.g. 2012 is located in the West sector and if this happens to be the living room balcony area; the recommendation may be to activate a water position, there. Subject to further analysis. 6. Look at the same; Flying Star can even zoom into the monthly stars and if one wants to, look into the hourly and even in minutes. 7. How often does one place a water feature on a track and move it according to the monthly stars. For example, in June it goes to East then July goes to South etc... 8. Mathematically, the 20 year flying star takes into consideration or in particular especially two variables: X and Y. X = mountain star# and Y = water star#. And often, if there is a cure needed, it is often considered with an option of Z = perhaps the annual star. Thus, if one has done one's homework, would have tried to do a sort of "moving average" to balance a certain sector for the long term e.g. now to 2021. Typical 20 Year Flying Star Chart, Period 7 (1984-2003) with the combinedAnnualand Monthly charts:- North-West (Metal) 4 [view Sector] 8 8 Year 2012 7 Jan Feb Mar Apr May Jun (7) 6 5 4 3 2 Jul Aug Sep Oct Nov Dec 1 9 8 7 6 5 North (Water) 9 [view Sector] 3 4 Year 2012 2 Jan Feb Mar Apr May Jun (2) 1 9 8 7 6 Jul Aug Sep Oct Nov Dec 5 4 3 2 1 9 North-East (Earth) 2 [view Sector] 1 6 Year 2012 9 Jan Feb Mar Apr May Jun (9) 8 7 6 5 4 Jul Aug Sep Oct Nov Dec 3 2 1 9 8 7 West (Metal) 3 [view Sector] 9 (Door) 7 Year 2012 8 Jan Feb Mar Apr May Jun (8) 7 6 5 4 3 Jul Aug Sep Oct Nov Dec 2 1 9 8 7 6 Center (Earth) 5 [view Sector] 7 9 Year 2012 6 Jan Feb Mar Apr May Jun (6) 5 4 3 2 1 Jul Aug Sep Oct Nov Dec 9 8 7 6 5 4 East (Wood) 7 [view Sector] 5 2 Year 2012 4 Jan Feb Mar Apr May Jun (4) 3 2 1 9 8 Jul Aug Sep Oct Nov Dec 7 6 5 4 3 2 South-West (Earth) 8 [view Sector] 4 3 Year 2012 3 Jan Feb Mar Apr May Jun (3) 2 1 9 8 7 Jul Aug Sep Oct Nov Dec 6 5 4 3 2 1 South (Fire) 1 [view Sector] 2 5 Year 2012 1 Jan Feb Mar Apr May Jun (1) 9 8 7 6 5 Jul Aug Sep Oct Nov Dec 4 3 2 1 9 8 South-East (Wood) 6 [view Sector] 6 1 Year 2012 5 Jan Feb Mar Apr May Jun (5) 4 3 2 1 9 Jul Aug Sep Oct Nov Dec 8 7 6 5 4 3 This Flying Star chart includes Yearly Star & Current Monthly Star for Jan 2012. 2012's annual #5 is at SE and coincidentally the monthly #5 is also located at SE. Fortunately for this chart, there are the big metal mountain star #6 and #1 water located at the SE sector to lessen the situation.
  11. If there is a possibility of placing sofa's around it or between the line of sight between the fire-place and the master bedroom door; then this is a passive "cure".
  12. Hmm.. Female, first, then Male, then Female then Male or Female, first, then Male, then Gay?
  13. 1. Chinese New Year starts early this year; 2. This year's Chinese New Year starts on Monday 23 January 2012. 3. As mentioned in the earlier posting of 1/15/2011, below; it is a tradition especially by the majority of Singapore Chinese who are Hokkiens to start operations on an auspicious day on Chinese New Year itself. 4. I have mentioned that for the opposite: for the dead, burial is always done on ODD days e.g. 1st day, 3rd day, 5th day, 7th day etc... immediately after death. 5. However, for business opening; it is always considered auspicious to start operations on EVEN number of days. 5.1. Thus for 2012, the first day of Chinese New Year is Monday 23 January 2012; business should or can or may open on even days e.g. the 2nd day: 24th, the 4th day: 26th, the 6th day: 28th, the 8th day = 30th of January etc... 5.2. In addition, the Hokkien dialect group (a significant number of Chinese in Singapore are Hokkiens (Fujian); love the sound of "6th". As it sounds like "luck". 5.3. In this attached, photo, this very famous and popular wanton noodle stall in a food centre at Telok Blangah states that they start work on 28th January 2012. Which is the 6th lunar day of the Chinese New Year 2012! 5.4. For some business, who can afford to operate or open for business at an extended date could instead operate on Monday 30th January 2012 or the lucky 8th lunar day. 8th is also a very popular and auspicious sounding term for many Chinese dialect groups: 8 in mandarin sounds like prosper for the Cantonese as well as the Hokkiens and Teochews... 6. For example, for Geomancy.net, as we have an international website, our website operations will start on the 2nd day of Chinese New Year which is on Tuesday 24th January 2012. While our phsycial business starts on the 6th lunar day of 2012 similar to this hawker stall. 7. In China, it is usual for many business especially factories to stop work as early as this hawker stall to allow their staff time to return back to their province and home county which can by bus or train be as long as 1 or 2 day's journey depending on which city they work and live. Cecil L. wrote: Further to what I had mentioned; Do take note that under majority of Chinese customs:- 1. Chinese New Year and when is a good day to open for business? 1.1 Chinese always try to OPEN for business on EVEN days based on the LUNAR NEW YEAR. 1.2. Thus, Chinese traditionally OPEN for business on:- 1.2.1 SECOND DAY of the Chinese Lunar New Year or 2nd day of 1st Lunar month OR 1.2.2 FOURTH DAY (4th day of 1st Lunar month) = BUT, some CHINESE don't like the number 4; thus often they go for the 6TH DAY:- 1.2.3 SIXTH DAY (6th day of 1st Lunar month) OR 1.2.4 EIGHT DAY (8th day of 1st Lunar month) = Very popular for Chinese businessmen (Chinese seldom open after the Eight day = as often celebrations cease after this date). 2. While the reverse is true for BURIAL or CREMATION = funeral day:- 2.1. For burial or cremation; the Chinese choose ODD days. 2.2. For example: if someone passed away on e,g, Saturday 15th January 2011; then the funeral should be held on the 3rd, 5th, 7th or 9th day. 2.3 Thus if a person passed away anytime before 2359 on 15th January 2011; then 15th January is to be considered as the First day of passing. Thus funeral can be on 17th Jan or 19th Jan or 21st Jan. 3. Thus CNY Opening is always on an EVEN day (counting from 1st day of the Chinese New Year). Although EVEN number is associated with YIN; but this is not the correct interpretation. EVEN symbolises "A PAIR" e.g. when we visit someone; we always give a PAIR of oranges. Chinese don't like to give odd number fruits on such a joyous occasion. 4. While for a funeral is on ODD days. And a funeral should be conducted on the "YANG" days. 5. Sorry to bring this 2nd subject. But, it is for general knowledge. Especially for the non-Chinese to understand our culture. Hope that helps the younger generation of Chinese. 14. 1. You wrote: Q2. If yes, I am sorry I am not clear on your article http://www.geomancy.net/resources/art/arowanafish.htmunder Q2. By Oasis, does it mean that I should have a fountain with all 5 elements present or only 4 elements, omitting the element that is in affliction (ie. #5 yellow Earth). 2. Often, there is a constraint in that one was adviced not to use say a certain colour in an area. For example, in a location where there is the #5 yellow; the name already says it all: if possible avoid YELLOW. and in addition as fire fuels or inflames YELLOW (#5) then often RED should not be present in or under that area or sector. 2.1 In real life situations, sometimes it may be unavoilable not to have especially bright primary colours. How often do we see a child's play toy and not see YELLOW in them. 2.2 Under the Five Elements concept; sometimes instead of cracking one's head as to how to avoid YELLOW totally; the other view-point is the opposite; let's introduce a rainbow of colours especially the primary colours of: BLUE, RED and GREEN. (In many instances YELLOW may be considered another sub-PRIMARY colour). 2.2.1 Reference:- http://forum.geomancy.net/phpforum/article.php?bid=2&fid=1&mid=24972&new= Refer to Para 7. 3. You wrote: "My SE sector has a natal FS of 4M, 1W and base of 6. I would like to activate this location with a fountain but this mth and the 2012 annual FS is #5 yellow. Q1. If I place cure of metal wind chime and metal Hu Lu for this location, is it safe to go with the fountain?" 3.1 The popular saying: Shapes and Forms determine the stars; and the stars determine the sectors of the home... 3.2 But there is an additional saying: Hey! Did you take note of where Tai Sui (Grand Duke resides in that year?) 3.3 In my opinion, don't just think of the annual FS #5 yellow which happens to be at SE. In some instances, the Grand Duke follows the Five Yellow:- 3.4 2012 Flying Star Forecast North 7 2 9 8 6 4 3 1 5 South 3.4.1 Take note the following sectors:- Sickness Star this year is at North Misfortune/Sickness Star this year is at South-East Disputes/Quarrel Star this year is at South-West Education/Romance Star this year is at East Grand Duke this year is East-South-East, 120 Degree. - Avoid sitting facing the grand duke or disturbing him by having renovations. Location in Conflict is South. - Avoid having renovations done opposite the location in conflict. 3.4.2 Reference: http://www.geomancy.net/resources/yearly-forecast/fortunes-2012.htm 4. Do not forget that Grand Duke is also at SE or (East-South-East) sector. In such a situation, "respect" and quiet is due, here. So, do you think that it would be wise to hang a wind-chime at SE?? Please put on your thinking cap, here. 5. As for having a water position, the idea is that it can still be of a help; often as mentioned prevously so long as the water position: be it a fountain etc.. has all the five elements to create a balanced flow; this is the safest bet if you still want to place a cure, there. 6. You wrote: "Q3. Is this place safe after the cure I mentioned above for my children to study, etc, taking into account that the House and their Kua are suitable for this place." 6.1 In reality, once a sector is balanced etc and that if one does not have many rooms appropriate for the above activity; have to use the place, means have to use the place. In a recent forum message, a room e.g. the living room area spans two sectors and I have already mentioned how to determine which sector stars are more prevalent over the other star(s).... go read that article... 15. These are some considerations: 1. This comes under the category of "belief". 2. This is much like the main entrance door should not be vulnerable to "attacks" by a lone lamp post "slicing into it" or a sharp corner or a sharp roof -- as a poison arrow or sha qi. 3. Under the same "idea"; as in the above; the entrance or the bedroom door should not be vulnerable to "sharp objects" and things like an oven facing the door. 4. The belief is that "hot" objects like an oven or even a fire-place facing the bedroom door could symbolise: either health concerns: fever etc... and/or marriage problems (excessive heat). 5. This is why (perhaps) some say to place a beach scenery to "cool" the fire-place -- down. Or to place a mirror -- again perhaps to "deflect" back the original qi.... etc... 6. Frankly, as mentioned above, it has more to do with such a belief that sparks the concern. 7. One will or can never find a text book answer to your concern. 8. As this is often not a common situation, again as mentioned above, there is really no quick fix nor which is the ideal or correct "cure". 9. Some imaginative cures may even consider things like: if it is not in use; it is considered as no longer a threat or "enclosing the fire place etc... Often, it may not be practical not to have the fire-place on especially in a cold place... 10. Thus, in my opinion, in such an "uncommon" situation; in reality; sometimes; it is even better not to know of such "beliefs"..... kinda of acting blur... is another consideration...
  16. In my opinion, it is not the norm. However, these are some considerations: 1. Monkey, see, monkey do... 2. Alternatively: Keep up with the Joneses... Hope the above are clear statements...
  17. 1. You wrote: "It seems clear it would be beneficial to keep the N windows closed and try to use the entrance as little as possible. Also to use the window in the W area as much as possible (which connects to the S hall which enters this NW - N living room area) where there is an 8 Water Star. " 1A. Yes, you got (the above) correct! 2. You wrote: When adding metal to the N area to weaken the 5 and 2 flying stars, shall I also be concerned about assisting the Jue Ming Wandering Star here? (and perhaps weakening it by assisting the N palace with some water). 2A. It is ok to do so.
  18. These are some considerations: 1. In my opinion, this is the very first time, I believe, someone like yourself has done so: 1 standard bagua convex mirror above the main door and the 6 car side-rear view mirror type of mirror. 2. Since there are no precedence, will it is either: an over-kill or ............. 3. Anyway, the other side is the human factor. If one is constantly worried about the situation, but may have found "a cure" whether be it real or unreal; if it helps to "settle" or calm the concerned, go ahead. 4. Thus, sometimes, a higher percentage may be due to human factors or "feel good or better" sort of thing. 5. Anyway, hope you can monitor the situation, and let us know how it goes?
  19. 1. Further to what I had mentioned, in my opinion, most geomancers that plot lots of Flying star charts often would prefer to use the Pie chart method. 2. In your illustration, the quickest way to visualise qi is to look first for an external openings especially if a room is within two or more sectors. 3. In this case, take a look at the attachment. I have marked in BLUE, where the PRIMARY qi if there are openings (external openings) would often have the highest weightage. 4. Thus in this illustration; North PRIMARY FACE seems to have lots of windows and even a door. (Other than considering whether they are opened - afterwards or should they be opened wide etc. this is another consideration.) 5. In this illustration, there does not seem to have any external openings at NW at the PRIMARY face of the NW sector. Of course, there seems to have lots of passageway with qi from other sectors indirectly leading towards it. Some of the external qi can even come from the North direction. 6. Of course, this can be considered as highly technical. But, does it make sense? Does what I say make common sense?
  20. Please refer to attachment. If a room spans two Flying Star Sectors: 1. In this case: North and NW; 1.1. Visualise or locate any openings in the room; 1.2. Priority is any external opening(s) 1.3. Next, other "openings" like a corridor or passage way. 1.4. In this illustration if there are openings a marking in RED "A" then in theory; and if NW does not have an external opening; then, we may consider this room is most likely to be influenced more by North vs NW sector.
  21. These are some considerations: 1. Often when applying the Flying Stars, always visualise where chi (qi) or wind comes in. 2. Here, looks like you have external qi coming in from any openings(maybe look like) there are windows at the North area. 3. At NW, seems like the qi is a secondary one as qi or wind or air flows in from other parts of the home into that area. As there are no external openings from NW other than from open spaces... 4. Thus, in GENERAL, the qi within the North area could be argued to have a higher influence in an area or room that has two sectors spanning it. 5. An aquarium at NW, does seem to help that sector: not so much to enhance qi but rather to help "neutralise" bad stars within the NW sector. 6. Thus predominantly, focus more on the stars located at North. Unless you often close (air-tight) if there are any windows at the North "face" of the home.
  22. Further to what I had mentioned: http://fountain.geomancy.net The most effective water position: 1. It should not be a tiny water feature or position : like those small table top type of water feature. 2. The preferred water position should have all five elements: Metal, water, wood, fire and earth. Under Para 2.1. to 2.12 of the above url link.
  23. These are some considerations: 1. Glass is considered as belonging to the metal element. 2. I can understand why glass table is popular. As often, some consider it good for small spaces. 3. Actually what you mentioned, has more to do with common sense. Just ask any man; young or old: if a girl with short skirts is sitting facing the person, it is not so much of no good to see people's leg; but rather... what goes further than that! Think about it! 4. It is just like I had mentioned, previously: if one installs a full glass mirror at the dining table; and as most dining tables do not have any courtesy board to cover the leg area, one can also look further thru the legs ..... if the girl is not seated "properly"....
