Dear Master Lee, 1. I just came across your website and hope you can help me. 2. I have heard several contradicting information on placing the altar (see plan). Would like your advice. For A1, some said it is good but some said that it is no good as the back of Altar is to the main door - fear back-stabbing. For A2, some said it is the best place (buddha looks after us as we go out) but some said that it is no good as it faces the lift lobby and another neighbour's unit (worry that bad energy absorbed). For A5 & A6, some said not so good if in bedroom, somebody is sleeping with feet towards living room. 3. I hav…

Hi Master Cecil, Happy Lunar New Year and Gong Xi Fa Cai! I have a few questions which I hope you can help: I have read from your previous postings and replies that altar dimensions from floor to table top should be between 124.1cm and 128cm, the ideal being 126cm. May I ask if this dimension includes the 'base height' of certain Guan Yin Statuettes? Some statuettes come attached with a base (e.g. a lotus flower base) of about 10cm where Guan Yin sits on, hence, if we add the dimensions of the base, it will be 136cm (if floor to table top is 126cm). On the fengshui ruler, it would not be considered auspicious, is that a concern? Secondly, are ther…

[4.] Chinese Altar: Good position for Guanyin altar at new home & dangers of constantly breathing joss fumes

Dear Master We'll be moving to a new flat soon, and would like to consult you on a good altar position for our Guanyin which we'll be moving over from current house. Pls see our unit layout as attached. There are 3 potential positions we're looking at: A: right next to main door, with adjacent DB (databox) which cannot be relocated. Width is only 48cm between main door and DB. B: with bomb shelter as backing, outside kitchen. ? immediate position adjacent to main door when it's fully opened All positions do not get the sun. Other questions: 1. Is it not advisable to have the shoe cabinet next or under the altar? Really tight on space to entertain this thou…

Oops I think I have confused you with the sentence "Here attached showed the side view of my current made altar which is wrong doing. Previous was only front view. But according to the side as attached do I still need to follow the measurement by you for the previous attachment name altar dimensions.jpg??". I mean at the side view there are two small cabinet box attached with the altar. And there are also three pillars at the left and right side for the design of this altar. Is that auspicious having the three pillar at the both side left and rightand alsoon top of the Kuan Yin God three pillar too?

These are some considerations: 1. Generally, Option where the altar is next to the main door is a good choice. 2. As you had mentioned, the stove placement should be based on one's ba zi and is beyond this discussion. 3. There is no issue if one wants to place a shoe cabinet next to the main door. This is pretty common even for many condo unit owners.

1. Chinese New Year starts early this year; 2. This year's Chinese New Year starts on Monday 23 January 2012. 3. As mentioned in the earlier posting of 1/15/2011, below; it is a tradition especially by the majority of Singapore Chinese who are Hokkiens to start operations on an auspicious day on Chinese New Year itself. 4. I have mentioned that for the opposite: for the dead, burial is always done on ODD days e.g. 1st day, 3rd day, 5th day, 7th day etc... immediately after death. 5. However, for business opening; it is always considered auspicious to start operations on EVEN number of days. 5.1. Thus for 2012, the first day of Chinese New Year is Monday 23 January 2012; …

Hi Master Lee, I tried looking through your other advice on altar placement because wouldn't want to trouble you, but I a bit lost on altar placement for my upcoming house. My wife is Myanmar Buddhist, we are looking for altar location for Guan Yin and Buddha. Thank you Master.

Further to what I had mentioned, a pie chart is much easier a tool to "define" where a room or place is located. For example in the same attachment, the location of the Master Bedroom, the Master Toilet, the Staircase area, the Dad's bedroom, Dad's bathroom can be clearly be defined from the pie chart. Only two sectors: East = Study and West = Family area is less hazy and can fall into another sector. Please see attachment.

1. As I mentioned earlier, sometimes we look at a picture and only see a single image. 2. For example, in many cases, people may think of something as a missing corner, when in fact the sector should actually be seen as a protrusion. 3. In this situation, there is a potential issue known as "Sha Qi," which means poison arrow. 4. Fortunately, there is a significant distance between the area marked in purple, from C to D. For condos and even lower-ceiling HDBs, this means the "poison arrow" effect is negligible because the distance is quite large. 5. Please see the attachment.

Hello Cecil Lee, Thanks so much for providing such a concise and clear set of general feng shui information. I also appreciate that you use diagrams and pictures often. I am curious to know, if you have two windows next to each other (operable or not; I just labeled them in case it would reduce ambiguity), does the shared frame border highlighted in red below create a source of sha qi? Thanks!

Good evening Sir, Could you please help me with my stairs? My stairs is U shape therefore I have a midway landing which requires may 2-3 steps before the next staircase. Do i need to recount the number of steps like the one i did on the sketch? My house is still being constructed and I can still modify the number of steps based on your recommendation. I base the count on Oro, plata, mata, nada. Hoping for your reply. Kind regards, Ralph John.

Hello Master Cecil, thank you for all your guide and help so far. It has been very resourceful reference here. definitely a treasure trove of information here. I would like to enquire about Auspicious Dates vs 7th Month. There are listing of auspicious dates for certain events like moving house or renovation. There are also specific dates that are more auspicious to individuals after considering their bazi. I’ve used the 30days free calculation provided here and found some very auspicious dates for me to move house. However, these dates fall into lunar July. I’m not entirely worried about lunar July but rather just a little concerned an…

Thank you. I got your point already. When you said "If one is able to continuously walk up EACH step without having to use another step; even if there is a slight landing; then it should be considered continuous even with a small landing." our small landing dont need extra step to go to the next step. thanks for your help.. Highly appreciated.

Bad Flying Stars (Feng Shui) in kitchen + What element is a fridge? Water? Metal element?

Firstly, if this is not a bedroom; not a major concern especially if it is at the back of the home or apartment. Secondly, many don't realise but a Refrigerator or fridge is actually considered as belonging to the metal element. Thus, if one needs metal in the kitchen; a large fridge can do the job.

Iam very distressed by my new neighbour. Staying in HDB and being Indians, they like to dry their clothing in the common walkway. Their cloth hanger, that is the bamboo pole to hang their clothing is pointing directly towards my door. I put plants and crystals to deflect the poles which is considered poison arrows. I just hate it and I have strong desire to move out. Pls help and advise how to harmonise.
