1. If you have a sketch, it would be better! 2. Overall, so long as the spiral staircase is not facing the main entrance door directly, this is a plus point. 3. Is the steps for the spiral staircase fully covered or it is one "plank" onto another "plank" with open spaces in-between.

Dear Cheryl, In my opinion, there should not be an issue with the situation that you had described. From a Feng Shui point of view, this is not an issue. There are some concern by some people only if there is a upper floor e.g. bedroom just above the car-porch. In such a situation, someone said that in the event that a car caught fire, it would be dangerous to have the car below this bedroom. But to be honest, how often have we heard that stationary cars catch fire. Alternatively, smoke detectors or fire safety sensors could be used, here. Warmest Regards, Cecil cheryl ludwig wrote: I am going to purchase a house. One of the ones I've looked at has a carport attached …

Dear Mei Lee, Generally, it has more to do with "commonsense approach" to Feng Shui. This is because, if the site / slope is "well maintained" it is fine. But in some cases, such as poor piling done and due to heavy (or very heavy rainfall), and if the slope is not protected, we often see pictures on houses on the "hill" breaking up or the slope causing a landslide - coming down to the lower home. Frankly, this is quite rare. Warmest Regards, Cecil

Hi, On the contrary, I think that it is irresponsible not to help out injured person if you are able to. Because any help that one can offer could save a person's life. Warmest Regards Robert Lee

These are some considerations: 1. Based on a quick glance and using the "eye-ball" method; most likelyhood the centrepoint is as marked in PURPLE = please see attachment. 2. However, for some people, the centrepoint or rather the center-of-gravity would normally be along the range in blue between the range of marking "A" to "B" thereabouts.

Just writing to say thank you for my answer. It helps me out tremendously, AND it helps me understand one more aspect of feng shui that, until now, I have been a little unclear on. Thank you.

1. Many of us are totally focused only on just our Kua or Gua (Eight House) Feng Shui. 2. But more importantly, the House "Gua" or Kua is more important factor. House Gua often is based both on Shapes and Forms Feng Shui and Flying Star Feng Shui. 3. For personal Gua or Kua, do take note that between facing a good direction and spending time at a good sector, "spending time" prevails over facing a good direction. Although facing a good direction is "Nice-to-have" and not a must-have factor. 4. Lets go back to the start... if we can reverse time: "Finding a good home": Here, the "house gua" or simply Flying Star is used to look at the birth chart of the home. 5. And th…

Further to what I had mentioned:- 1. In the past, I mentioned, just imagine; you have a family of 8 adults and teenagers. 2. If you own a saloon car which may seat a maximium of 5 persons, tell me, how are you going to squeeze another 3 more family members into this saloon car? 3. Eight House theory is similar to this situation: Either you can or cannot. 4. Like the British always say: Bloody hell, then get yourself a large MPV that can seat 8 persons (full stop). 5. You can't just tie one family member on the roof, another stuffed into the bonnet and drag another family member right?

Hi Robert Lee, Thanks for your reply ! I am glad to hear your detailed explanations and feel a little at ease now. I have actually booked the solemnization date at ROM on 18th March 2005. And my marriage is an international marriage. My future spouse is a Japanese and I am Singaporean. If I would like to check if this date is suitable for both of us(me & my future spouse), how can I do it through you? How much do you charge ? Hope to hear from you soon! Thanks ! Regards.

1. Usually indoor plants are often waxy and darker green colour. These are the most suitable indoor plants. 2. There are at least three very common bamboo plants. The advantage of bamboos are that they are very hardy and some varieties grow very well indoors with little maintenance. 3. Symbolically, to the Chinese, bamboo represents "youth" and when combined with some other characters could mean "longevity". 4. So long as the plants does not have thorns; they are generally acceptable although preference is on the porch and often not found in the interior of the home.

HI, Please read below:- I think that is more of a superstition than Feng Shui. Personally, I do not think there is anything about traditional Feng Shui about this. If anyone have any other opinion on this, feel free to share it.

Dear Anon, For the ground floor, since there is a garage, best to close the garage door when not in use. Once this is done the middle door can still be left open without further issue. Thus if this is done, no longer compulsory to place the plants. For upper floors, try to close any one of the middleroom doors will do. Warmest Regards, Cecil

Dear Bridget, The two concepts are different:- 1. Flying star is about the luck of the house, where is the wealth stars, where are the inauspicious stars of the house. This analysis tells you whethera sector is good or not or how much luck you can get from the home itself. 2. Eight House on the other hand is about the suitability of the sector, or best direction. A good sector of the home based on the flying star does not mean it will be suitable to you or not. ie say the bedroom has excellent flying star luck, but if the bedroom sector falls in the North and your Eight House tells you this is Death/Disaster sector. No matter how good the stars of the North sector of t…

Dear Anon, 1. Currently, the consensus amongst many Feng Shui practitioners is that the influence of the bookshelf, or its `knife' "cutting" effect applies to a person who, for example sits with such an influence. 2. Some highly conservative FS practitioners may advise that it is inauspicious to have the open bookself near to the main entrance door. 3. A realistic view is that Para 1 is the main concern. For Para 2, this is highly subjective and in my opinion, not likely to pose any problems. However, the main idea is to keep the space at the main entrance area clear (as possible). This is are more important consideration. Warmest Regards, Cecil

Dear Ana, Please refer to the attached. In my opinion, the love seat is inappropriate to screen the main door from the staircase. It is best that a screen be used between the main door and the staircase. So long as the stairs is not seen, this will no longer become a threat. A few months ago, I encountered a case where my client redo the second level such that the staircase faces the main door. This is not healthy. Ever since, they had done so, and with other problems i.e. main door facing windows, these lead to many leaks in the home. The end result is that they continously face finacial problems. Generally, a mirror at the staircase landing (say at Marking `C' under th…

Dear Kathy, 1. Frankly, it is better to place your bed in a good Shapes and Forms position. 2. Some examples of favourable/unfavourable bed positions can be seen under this url:- http://www.geomancy.net/resources/theories/fs-bedroom.htm 3. Many of us, do have `opposites'. And it is best that the person who has more auspicious influence sleep closer to that intangible force. While, the partner sleeps further away. Warmest Regards, Cecil

1. Appreciate if you do not post multiple postings. This and the past. As all messages in this forum are moderated. Quote: Melody V. wrote: Thanks for your help. I have considered the 2 factors you mentioned. First, my mother's bedroom will have blinds so that will take care of the sunset. Plus, she can always use airconditioning. My mother is hardly at home in the afternoons. 2. Above, sounds reasonable.I forgot that many homes in theUS use cheaper materials like gypsum board panels and insulation. Where-elseespecially inSingapore, our homes are built with concreteand bricks - which tend to absorb heat and later in the evening say at 7pm onwards, start to release it…

Dear Ber, Actually, it would greatly depend on what the FS teacher is analysis for and what are the tools he had used. Sorry, without details on the house or your information or even having seen your house, it is difficult or not proper for me to may any comments on this matter. It is also not good to have too many person looking at the same house. So long as you feel comfortable with his advices, then you should just follow it. Warmest Regards Robert Lee

Hi Cecil, One more consideration I thought I might add - this is a Kan house (front door and unobstructed view facing south-2 and sitting north) and the annual flying star number for the South sector is 5. 2-5 combo is supposed to be inauspicious as well. So we have the 3 killings, 5 yellow and a 2/5 trigram yearly combination in the bedroom. What can we do to cure the 2/5 combination? Is it safe to sleep in the bedroom at all? Thanks much! CK
