Chinese antique furniture If it is an antique furniture, where possible check the history of furniture piece. I understand that it is quite difficult here. Dear Anon, 1. This is a subjective question. I believe if you `throw' this question into the newsgroup, you will get all sorts of response. 2. Overall, the original aim of Feng Shui is to enhance beneificial Qi and neutralise Sha Qi. 3. Many Western Feng Shui practioners (especially those that are not Traditional Feng Shui) will love your question. Dear Anon, As vines and creepers are plants, there is really no harm in having them in places (in the house) where one feels comfortable having them. If they able to grow and needs little maintenance, this is acceptable. The `taboo' is to avoid having them at the bedroom. Dear Anon, One has to do a full Feng Shui audit in order to look at e.g. the attic or basement etc.. from many angles such as Shapes and Form, Flying Star analysis etc... Therefore, I prefer not to `generalise' and make everyone follow a set principle. Each house differs and one should gather a total picture to make a final analsis. Dear Anon, A three-legged toad does not feature prominently in any traditional Feng Shui literature. In my opinion, it is a commercial product. I leave it to anyone to decide whether they feel this is true or not. Do note that there is no basis for it under Feng Shui. Warmest Regards, Cecil

Dear Anon, Apologies, I still do not understand your question. To analyse a house, one should instead use proper tools like Flying Star Theory. One look at whether the house should be at the top or bottom quadrant is `too superficial' way of looking at things. Warmest Regards, Cecil

Dear Chai, This is based on the Eight Aspirations or Eight/Life Associations where North is the career sector. The above is based on the interpretation of the Gua Trigram where North = Career sector. Unfortunately, this is a general statement and is not personalised to anyone. It is like saying that North = Water sector. Due to the many other Feng Shui theories available which are personalised to an individual: especially Eight House Theory, Flying Star. Hi thank you for the great web site and the reports. However I don't know if I made a mistake when I originally filled out my info on the house I live in. It is a period 6 house but I am not sure if it became a period 7 house. When I moved in 2 years ago some renovations were made but I don't know if they were major enough to change the period of house. What was done: 1. Dear Anon, You don't need any money for using cures in traditional feng shui. What you have been reading about is BTB feng shui and it does not work. Trust me I am talking from personal experience. Don't waste your money on BTB cures. Instead apply the pillar of destiny, 8 house theory and flying star and shape and form and it will help you to achieve balance in all area of your life. Dear Anon, Can I check with you whether are the 2 rectangular chimneys (tangent) or if you stand at the window, and looking out directly, (without looking sideways) can you see the two rectangular chimneys? In 1969 Chinese New Year falls on 17 Feb 1969 and only on or after this date is your sister considered a Rooster. Dear Anon, Based on symbolism in Feng Shui, in my opinion, boxed beds are not considered `inauspicious': 1. It is still considered a `whole' bed i.e. it is not spilt up ned together (two single bed). Not "split up" even if it has two layers. 2. There should not be an issue on whether the bed should have a gap below it. This is because in many countires e.g. Japan, usually sleep even on tatami mats on the floor. 3. It is good to have paqua flooring or "wooden" flooring. Dear Kamariah, Since you are in Malaysia, it is easier for you to find a Feng Shui consultant as I believe there are quite alot in the country. Dear anon, Why don't you look at the sample of the good houses. It is the flying star chart. It will give you a rough idea of what to expect and then you can do a flying chart of your house and it will tell you the exact location where this star falls in your house and it will tell you how to neutralize it according to your pillar. Dear Anon, Please see below:- The best `cure' is to see if you can have a screen behind your bedroom door or place a linen cupboard before entering the door. A potted plant can be used but in my opinion less effective for a `C' configuration. However, you can try to see if can help. As you can always remove the plant afterwards. Another method is to place a semi-circular mat facing away from the bedroom door and `cutting' or `slicing' the steps of the staircase leading to the room. Do try the above out. Dear Anon, Yes, this is the case. For example, at the main entrance area, where one can activate the water star, i.e. clear space in-front. One cannot possible activate a mountain star at this location. The logic is the same e.g. in the living room where one should not activate a mountain star. Dear Anon, Here, there are several view-points: 1. Some Feng Shui practioners will `insist' that one should use an immovable object rather than a picture. 2. Some Feng Shui practioners will advise you that one can hang pictures but watch what you hang. Under para 2, the advise is to hang a picture of a mountain scene. Excellent examples are: a picture of Mount Fuji in Japan or the Himalayas. Scenes such as this. Where best, avoid pictures of water scenes such as fountain, fishes swimming.
