Dear Anon, As you have asked three questions that seems like superimposing the Four Symbolic Animal literally inside a home, generally, this is considered a `flawed' and is akin to practising Feng Shui the BTB way or commonly recommened by some book authors without due regard to proper Traditional Feng Shui. Warmest Regards, Cecil

DearPui Yong, Cheong Pui Yong wrote: Is it suitable to have wealth tree and lotus flower picture in the bedroom? I also have an airport for boiling water in the bedroom because I am living in an one room place Thanks for any advise! A) Actually, it is bad to have plants or tress in the room for two reasons:- 1) The room should be yin for resting. Plants are considered yang, so it is bad to have them in the room. 2)The 2nd reasonis plants will produce oxygen in the day, but at night they will also fight with you for oxygen. Thus, both the plants and yourself will be fighting for the same amount of oxygen. This is why it is not good to place plants in the bedroom. It …

Dear Anon, 1. One thing for sure, most of us would (intuitively) feel uncomfortable about this - especially if; one leaves one's main door open. 2. Yes, it is best to take a `peep' on the type of god that they are worshipping (other than their ancestor tablet). 3. Here, it is important to have an idea what they are `doing'. 3.1 For example, if they are worshipping a statue of a buddha and/or Goddess of Mercy; This would imply that their main purpose is for the " Protection " of their home. 3.2 But if they are worshipping " God of Wealth " or any other figurines holding e.g. a long sword; then this can be considered as a `sha' qi. 3.3 For example, Para 3.2 can be considere…

In my opinion, especially Tai Chi is a slow but (calculated to strengthen) since it has always been one of the most popular activities especially for the "aged"; I feel that it is OK. (Subject of course to the caution: that some who have certain health concerns; check with their personal doctor, first.

Dear Sandi, 1. Based on what you had mentioned, you should not have a problem in the situation where although the front and back door are directly opposite each other. As, there is a wall between the two front and back door. 2. In Feng Shui, it is advisable not to be under a sloping roof. However, this is much better than directly under (sitting) under a beam. The higher the ceiling the better. Warmest Regards, Cecil

Dear Joe, For next year, the Grand Duke will be located at 112.5 degrees (at Lesser South East position)which is the year of the `Dragon'. Please note that the `new' position of the Grand Duke for next year is between 5 Feb 2000 to 23 Jan 2001 and not 1 Jan 2000. Please see below:- Where possible if your kitchen is located in the East, avoid renovating at the location until after 4 February 2000. For a Chinese, it is advisable not to renovate 15 days starting from 5 Feb 2000 as this is considered the Lunar New Year. This is not `ideal' even if it is attached to a wall. Where possible, the stove needs a supporting wall. It should where possible not be at the "…

These are some considerations: 1. Please see attached illustration. 2. What you mentioned comes under thegreen shaded area: Eight House or Eight Mansions Feng Shui. 2.1. Where your best directions and sectors are SW, W, NW and NE. 2.2. For your second part of the enquiry: S is fire element but my kitchen is E location..... 3. For this 2nd part; it also involves: all those highlighted inYELLOW in the chart. 4. Unfortunately, you cannot simply use or apply the shadedGREEN area = eight house in ISOLATION. 5. In the chart; you will see that Eight House and Flying Stars belong to the Compass School of Feng Shui, also. 6. I am truly afraid, if you were to DIY or want to DIY, y…

Dear Anon, This is based on very general theory. I would rather classify this as textbook cures where Book authors will ask explain the location eg. South = Fire and let you do whatever necessary to enhance the location based on a fixed element. I believe all your four questions, what has been done is to simply super-impose the Four Symbolic animals `exactly' into the home environment. This is really not the correct way to apply Feng Shui based on the Five elements. For example, the South is already considered warm. Introducing a warm object e.g. a Phoenix would add more `Fire' into the location. If there is already `petty' quarrels within the sector, introducing or addin…

Dear Anon, 1. Unfortunately, Eight House analysis helps define suitability issues. It is very difficult to correct a suitability issue. I mean if a house facing does not fit you, the only way you can correct it is to move out to another house which fits you or make correcting to the location of the door. So in such situations, you do not really have much choice of correcting this one flaw. That is why it is important that when you first obtain the house, these issues should be checked first. Issues like flying star problems can be corrected, but not suitability of the house to you. 2. However, you do not need to worryso much as Spook or Irritation are not as bad as Dea…

Thanks Cecil. Drier skin isn't something I had thought of. I'll check into it. I've also heard that some people use copper or other metals to help with these types of things, but I can't find which kind to try. The shocks are quite bad (and painful). Grounding does help but isn't always easy to do (esp when petting an animal). Food is another interesting one. I'll start keeping track of when the shocks get worse. Thanks, MaryAnne

1. Some Geomancers consider "water" in the bedroom as:- 1.1. Some defined water as a Yin element : thus to them water is not suitable to be used in a "yin" location e.g. such as a bedroom. Here, it is a "static" painting, and not real moving water. 1.2. There are some who consider a painting of a water fall, as "moving" water ... so to them their interpretation is that since a bedroom should be for rest "yin"; then moving water = Yang is not suitable in a bedroom environment. 2. Frankly, these are the two most common interpretations by different Geomancers. Again, there is no right or wrong answers. See which or both appeal to best to the lay person. 3. What is really…

Dear Anon, Please see below:- By definition, brown (and green) belongs to the wood element. For example, oak, teak, american cherry wood (dark or light) etc.. belong to the wood element in lieu that their colour is brown. Where it comes to pine, it is still wood element but an experienced Feng Shui practitioner would ask their clients to avoid this type of material i.e. pine ( sold in IKEA ) as it resembles closer to `yellow' or earth element. Therefore, if in doubt, a FS practitioner would normally, try to advise their clients to go more for other popular wook grains such as teak and the popular cherry wood type of colour. 1. For most shapes, colour takes precede…

Dear Anon, It is acceptable to use a beaded curtain in replacement to a screen. Both serves the same purpose. 1. So far, I have seen very few houses where a particular sector needs to be `kept quiet' under the Flying Star chart. In such a senario, a beaded curtain is not advisable. However, the chance of `meeting' such a situation is not common or the probability of encountering it is lesser. 2. Avoid using metallic beads at the following compass directions: NE (devil's gate), West (Metal) & NW (Metal). Unless analysed by a competent FS practioner. Warmest Regards, Cecil

Dear Sandra, There are two issues here: 1. A mirror facing a window. 2. Whether the wall or the location around the wall is auspicious or inauspicous. Usually, it is best not to have a mirror facing a window. But this depends on how far away the mirror is. The rationale behind this is that if this is the frontage of your house, it is best to allow natural lighting flow into the house. If there are poison arrows outside the house, it would most likely reflect into the house onto the mirror and cause `twice' the problem as a mirror image has been created within the house. If it happens to be an inauspicious sector under Flying Star analysis, you will bounce back twice the `…

If you are applying Flying Star:- 1. the Mountain Star #9 with Water Star #7 in general is not a major issue. Unless one further takes into consideration base or palace star #2. 2. Since you are looking at the "stars"; you should also check where #2 and #5 are in relation to your home. 3. For example, are annual #2 and #5's found in your dad's bedroom and/or frontage or any other sectors.....
