Dear Anon, To give another "crude" way of associating with language, for example, some people use language in the "wrong way". For example, in Singapore, some of us learn dialect or use dialects to 'scold" people or use "foul language" widely. Here, the act of verbal abuse or like a politician, using much of the language to stir up people, can be considered as the "fire element". Anyone therefore, scolds someone, use 4-letter words can be considered as the act of using the "fire element". This is just an example. Warmest Regards, Cecil

Dear Anon, Anonymous wrote: My front door is diagonal and the south west corner has a closet and stairs. Where is my wealth corner? Please help! See attachment. Thank you. In order to know where is your wealth sector in the house, you need to apply the flying star concept. You can use the free flying star report in our member area:- URL: http://login.geomancy.net In general, depends on which period the house was built (ie period 8 or period 7). ie Period 8 house, the star 8 found in your Mountain Star will be your Unexpected Wealth (ie Pian Cai), while the Water Star will be your Earned Wealth (ie Zheng Cai). Dear Anon, Frankly, the hardest room to move-if any is a bathroom because of it's fixtures/sewerage piping etc... Thus, many of us have to "live" with it. In general, there are two "COMMONSENSE" approach in the name of Feng Shui: 1. If our bathroom door is fronting the stairs.. the best alternative of not seeing the toilet while moving up and down is simply to close the door. 2. Whenever we flush to toilet, especially the toilet bowl, the water coming from the toilet bowl area usually "flys" out. This is why we often here that toilet is not clean or dirty. Ordinarily, many of us are healthy individuals and a bit "dirt" does not kill us! For example, in a toilet, any…

Dear Rasika, Under the Compass School of Feng Shui, 1. Eight House Theory: Under this theory, it is good for a breadwinner to have a good orientation of the main door (suited) to him/her. For a building, the best choice is to have it sited in a good site and enjoy firstly good shapes and form. This will be advantages to everyone occupying the building. 2. Flying Star Theory. The direction of the main entrance door will determine the `birth chart' of the house i.e. the birth chart of the house/building is determined based on its main door direction. 3. Thus, if one uses the ordinary compass to take a reading, it should be taken from the centrepoint of the house/building. A…

Dear Utpal, 1. Although, red can be associated with the `fire' element, this is only one perspective or point of view. 2. Far from this single view or vocab that red = fire; red alternatively also represents auspiciousness for the Chinese. 3. Understanding the Five Elements Concept:- 3.1 Besides what I mentioned under Para 2, everything that is tied in red, therefore is symbolic of `auspiciousness'. 3.2 The Six coins cure and the red string or ribbon: For the six coins cure: Six represents `big metal'. The square hole at the centre of this six coins represents `earth' element. Earth element helps to strengthen metal element. Since the arrangement of six coins represent …

Frankly, it is just a general statement. For enhancements or cures, the holistic approach to Feng Shui like application of Eight Mansions (Eight House) or Flying Star would be good enough. For Flying Star Feng Shui, usually areas affecting relationships are the sectors that may contain #3 conflicts/quarrels. Quote: Anonymous wrote: Dear Cecil, I was wondering how accurate is that, the House ### have the effects on the occupants of the house. If it is, then there must be some kind of cures for it. My house is P5 #2104 facing S. It's said Mother and Daughter don't get along. Please, give me some advises, Thank you for your kindness.

Dear Anon, There are two key issues here: 1. One should activate the `Water star' in the living room. Here, low furnitures or uncluttered furntiure helps. 2. Chinese antique furniture If it is an antique furniture, where possible check the history of furniture piece. I understand that it is quite difficult here. But old furniture had in the past absorbed Qi from its surroundings. Too many `antique' furniture is said to result in or some Feng shui practioners felt that it would result in "conservative thinking." 3. Similiarly, a house should be proportionate in size i.e. the living room must not be too large in relation to other rooms. In the opinion of some Feng Shui Mas…

Dear Anon, Anonymous wrote: Hello there, I have tried your free report and it seems I have reviewed it and it contradicts to what happenned in the period of my life. Example is that I have "Luck againts me" during the best time of my life period in which I have been lucky in wealth, fame, and almost everything. I consulted your free report to find out what happened to my luck. These times I am wondering what happenned to my luck, but it seem in your report I am approaching my luck in 10 years. If that is so I want to know why is like that, and if so how can I enhance my luck these times (on this period and on the coming period) better. Thanks any advice and expalanation …

Dear Judy, Please see below:- 1. Yes, you have brought up a very interesting question. 2. First of all, Chinese do place importance in phonetic sounds. For example, several years back when China opened up its economy, I believe, there was this Coca Cola advertisement where the interpretation of the words `Coca Cola' was interepreted to mean an inauspicious name. 3. Subsequently, Coca Cola, revised this ad. 4. Chinese language is quite `complex' and a pronunciation can provide as much as say 4 different meanings to a character alone. 5. For the Chinese, usually, there is no issue once an auspicious sounding name has been chosen. 6. In the past where there was no stand…

Dear Sandi, Generally, there are three ways of looking at the issue: 1. The Flying Star Theory a. Location of Water star (in general) Under this situation, the water fountain should be placed in locations such as the living room (where it is generally) low lying area. Similarly, the clear space in front of the frontage of the house are good locations. b. Using the mathematical model of the Flying Star to check for balance or imbalances. Usually, the imbalances are related to the sickness (2 star) and misfortune (5) star and the cure is related to avoiding earth or the use of big metal to neutralise it. Here, usually, water do not `create' that much problem unless it is ov…

Dear Tril, If you have not reviewed how to find the main door direction, please check out:- http://www.geomancy.net/fs/cecilcompass.htm In the graphic presentation on the above site, you find that at the last part of the presentation, I actually superimposed a circular protractor i.e. 360 degress protractor on the layout plan. Here, you should then mark out i.e. 0 degrees (North), 45 degrees NE, 90 degrees East etc... and this is how you draw a `pie chart' with North, NE, East, SE, South, SW, West, NW. In fact there are two methods of dividing a room i.e. by diving it into 9 equal sectors as what mentioned below or using the `pie chart' method. If you are using a compass …

Dear Anon, It is `reserved' for members who have a religion or have statutes of `gods' or `deities'. For example, the Fu Lu Shou figurines should not:- 1. Directly face a toilet 2. On the same wall as the toilet. 3. Placed inside a bedroom. The chief consideration here is to give utmost `respect' to these "gods". In a bedroom is like changing clothes in full view of the `gods'. So far, I do not see the same rationale for applying auspicious symbols. However, I have yet to see anyone pasting an auspicious symbol inside the toilet door or facing a toilet bowl. Warmest Regards, Cecil

Dear All, Further to what I had mentioned, sometimes, it is better to depend on modern inventions, than Feng Shui. Sample sites like these, lists cleaners and other health related items that can take away some of the #2 or #5 type of issues. Instead of hanging six-coins, go for these:- http://www.aircleaners.com/ http://www.airdelights.com/hepa.html "To modern inventions and GOOD HEALTH!" Warmest Regards, Cecil

Thank you Master Lee for you reply. While your explanations were well understood, some other questions/need for clarification have come up. The situation I am dealing with is that in the SE of the house (Zhen 288 degrees facing built in 2001) the office is located on the first floor and the master bedroom is above it on the second floor. Consequently we spend nearly all our hours, both waking and asleep in the SE. Further, in the office there are two small walls (one with a black piece of furniture on it) that are painted in a deep berry red color. The master bedroom has primarily Wood and Earth elements (mostly through color) with a small amountof Metal (metal headboar…

Dear Anon, In feng shui, as long as you cannot see the threat it no longer becomes a problem. In your case, given that you cannot do much about the arrangement or change to a better location, then whatever you can put that can help block or break the shape of the corner will definately help. As such your suggestion on the artificialplant will certainly help. It will also act as a decorative makes your office look nicer. Hope that helps. Dear Chetan, I believe, if you are referring to the use of the Chinese Astrology, for example, ( reference : www.lovesigns.net ), like the Zodica signs e.g. Gemini, Cancer etc... are considered explanations as to the different characteristics of each individual. Under astrology, it can tell you the characteristic differences but this where it ends. If we are referring to the Eight House Theory, where one is a West or East facing house person, one can still make relations work. What is more important if one is using say astrology or believe in it, try to `learn' or understand the differences of the two `animal' signs better. For those who do not really want to rely on the …

Dear Anon, The Flying Star theory can usually tell that #2 is the sickness star. More investigative work need to be `carried' out and other Geomancy theories would be required e.g. Pillars can analyse a person's element components and even `predict' which part of the body, one would most likely have health problems with. Other causes would also be where a person stays in a house with underground water directly below or near to e.g the bed. If one does not live in a landed property, this would not likely be the `cause'. There are other disciplines that can be used to cross reference the above but currently, they are not directly related to Feng Shui so not followed up. Wa…

Dear Anon, Frankly, this is not a traditional cure. I can understand the rationale for using salt to be placed at corners. This practice is done by some "English" priests or astrologers. But lets view it realistically. It is real hard to apply this `cure'. It looks ugly and furthermore, there should be a chemical reaction between copper and salt. It is not advisable to use this combination. If, I am not mistaken, small amounts of electricity could be produced for a short while. (Correct me if I am wrong). Warmest Regards, Cecil
