Frankly, in my opinion, one needs more than that to really change to another Period. Thus, I feel that it is not sufficient.

Dear Anon, In my opinion, these two I believe are separate issues. If one believes that there is `tree enegry' than it should be tree energy outside. It should be able to `extend' into the house like that. But high lamps, the higher they are when turned on is regarded as lighting or light energy. As we have read in the forum, lighting is one of the other common Feng Shui `tools' frequently used by Geomancers. To many Geomancers, pictures are also considered `enhancers'. But it is difficult to say how effective they. Usually, the recommendation is something pleasing to the eye. This is quite subjective so, here we treat it of secondary importance (for the moment). The ot…

In my opinion, one can or may use a combination of : 1. Virtual water + activity: 1.1 Since this is the living room area; and if there are pocket(s) of opening e.g. When at home, try to see if it is possible to have such openings. For example, if the main door has an extra grille gate; can lick it and open the main door partially. 1.2 Continue to have activity at the living room area. 2. The most common advice is that of placing a water feature to activate the #8. Since this is the living room, it is/may be possible this year. 2.1. You have to make extra effort to properly understand the Five element concept. As other than the base star; water is good to reduce or negate …

Dear Maria, 1. The Eight House Theory is but only one of the Feng Shui theories. It is meant to find how suitable one is to the house and where possible, sleep in one of a individual's good sectors. Beside this, it is good to face a good direction e.g. especially for study and work. 2. It is `not ideal' to have the above, if the house does not conform to proper Shapes and Form. For more on Shapes and Form, there are either many books around to understand the concepts or you can go thru the materials under My Resources (Resources & Articles) on this site. 3. Use the Flying Star analysis to chart out the birth chart of the house. Here, this analysis is to check for any …

Dear Sor Lan, 1. What you had mentioned is a popular practise by the Cantonese dialect group. This popularity is based on the belief as what you had mentioned; that a mirror used in the hope that it can reflect `double' the luck. 2. We can (on a less scientific level) base it on feelings. However, if one uses more scientific methods such as The Flying Star Fen g Shui, where one uses it to determine if a sector is auspicious or not. If it is inauspicious, then, it is strongly felt that one should not place a mirror at that sector or we may inadvertenly bounce back twice the bad luck. Warmest Regards, Cecil Lee

Dear Laura, Usually, the only issues with mirror is that it can bounce luck out. So if you place mirror directly where the window is, you actually bounce the Qi out before it have the opportunity to circulate into the home. As for what are the tips available, each home is quite unique, so quite difficult to tell you what you should be doing to maximise the arrangemet of your furniture. The best tip I can advice, is make use of our free online reports such as the Ba Zi (element), Eight House. Ba Zi report - can tell you what elements you lack, so this can give you some idea what colours are good for each room etc. Eight House - can help you arrange the bed posit…

Dear Beverly, Firstly. you need to determine what type of mirror that your neighbour had placed on their door. This would determine the type of action or non action that you should take. Some mirrors are used for specific reasons or a combnation of reasons: 1. Concave mirror This is used often facing outwards of a missing corner to suck wealth. Thus. is considered one of the worst type to face a neighbor's home. 2. Convex mirror To deflect sha qi (poison arrows) or main door faces a sloping staircase 3. Othe types Flat mirror with or without ba gua trigram surrounding it. Concave or convex with ba gua trigram. Or door twin gods and or Qilin etc.. Try to find ou…

Dear Anon, Anonymous wrote: Hello, I have a huge problem and I would be very grateful if you could help me as soon as possible. Today on September 11th, 2007 the city did send a company that started ground digging with an excavator directly next to my house because they want to lay a new electric pipeline under the earth. They will open the whole ground in the Southwest, the West and the Nordwest along my house. Additional they will drive(drill)a hole in my basement wall which lies in the west of my house because they want to place an electric pipline through my cellar. Now I?m very worried because the Grand Duke is disturbed and the Three Killings are affected. What can…

1. Yes, the key concept is to locate the "mouth" of a home. This mouth is considered vital as it allows qi to meander into the home. 2 A "mouth" needs to be opened, not all the time but at least, like a door or windows; need to open at least several times a day. Imagine, physically we have a mouth but never open it? Not even for food or water throughout the day? 3. You mentioned: "But these windows are never opened (due to extreme heat outside). what then?" Thus this set of windows if it is "sealed" for life does not "qualify" as the mouth of the home. 4. Your best bet is the other set of windows or the main door. But in my opinion, it looks more pronouced to use the o…

Dear Anon, A picture on such situations would be nice. In general, this is not an ideal situation if the door is right `next' to the main entrance. Another way to look at is whether the frontage can still receive sufficient lighting or is there a constant shadow over the main entrance. Warmest Regards, Cecil

Dear Maria and all users, I would sincerely like to point out the `dangers' of Fast Food Feng Shui. I am glad that you asked the question. If one does not know the answer, it is best to check first before `implementing' self-help Feng Shui cures. As I recall, there was this Doctor, who bought books on Feng Shui. He went out to buy a foutain, started to (I believe) read chapter by chapter. At each chapter or what he thought were his element e.g. based on the year of his birth, he found that e.g. he was a Fire element person. He started to paint the main gate with a colour that he though would `enhance' him. Later on, when he used the traditional Pillars of Destiny which an…

Dear Anon, 1. In my most recent posting, I elaborated on the Holy Trinity of Luck (Geomancy Luck). 2. The single most abused thing in Geomancy today has to do with a marketing ploy for us to purchase "stuffs". 3. If we analyse carefully, this area or the sale of products comes under Human or man luck. 4. The reason why products are touted today is that Geomancers will try to squeeze out as much as they can out of our (hard earned) money to "sell" or "promote" products. 5.Thus, many of us who had visitedFeng Shui sites before will come to expect that site has a products page with all sorts of products for sale. 6. Actually, such products costs very little to produce.…

Dear Anon, A. In addition to Para 8, please see below:- 8) In addition, at the KITCHEN, place FA GAO x1 and ORANGES x3 on the stove. - with an ang pow with 20cents or 2 dollars or even number notes/coins will do. - Do not sweep the floor on the three days of placement. For example, if placed on Saturday, only sweep the floor after Monday i.e. from next Tuesday onwards ONLY. - After this date, all the ang pow money can be used to purchase sweets or sweet-drinks for own family consumption. B. In many instances - for homes especially many Housing Board flats that come "bare" without living room floor tiles done; i.e. only cement screeding; most likely after three days, o…

1. Usually for any occupation, it should be viewed under two categories: 1.1. The Industry of the business 1.2. The job function, one's job specification is into in a firm. 2. Thus any retail business usually should fall under the "fire element" i.e. Sales, marketing are generally considered a retail function or simply selling goods or services. 3. Sea food - although it can be considered as coming from the sea = water, in the context of the Five Elements, it should encompass the "earth". Thus, in very general sense, seafood is derived from (the sea) which is part of the earth. (Element = earth element) Quote: Linh D. wrote: Please give me some advices, I want to kno…

Dear Anon, Ideally, it should be a painting e.g. of a mountain scenery or an object with immovable mass. For the bamboo style plate, in general, it is in my opinion too `weak' to be classified to activate the mountain star. Yes, if the sector is an auspicious sector, it is even better to activate a mountain star. Warmest Regards, Cecil

Dear Eric, In my opinion, the Ba Gua symbol has been used on Toaist priest's clothings. Sometimes you find it on the front of their clothings and on occassions, it is on the back of their clothings. One may consider just tatooing the Yin-Yang symbol only i.e. which is found at the centre of the Ba Gua. Warmest Regards, Cecil

Dear Donna, As `keeping' money can be diverse, you can first look at your home to neutralise imbalances based on the new compass readings first. And check if there are any mountain stars that can be activated. (Water stars can also be activated depending on the stars at the specific locations, usually in the living room, this has to be looked at further). In addition, see how suitable you are to your home e.g. by using the Eight House Theory. Further fine tuning can be done with the help of Pillars, if needed. Warmest Regards, Cecil

1. Frankly, spook or irritation are very close. Unless it is disaster vs spook or irritation or death vs spook or irritation, then there is a "vast" difference. 2. Thus in general, when it comes to the "eight house" or using it to allocate a bedroom; very hard to differentiate between spook or irritation. 3. And it seems that both children are of the "west" group, have to just go with your feel. Alternatively, if one is able to draw a flying star chart, then see which bedroom can match their bazi colours. For example, say the bedroom at the SW is better suited for some colours based on the flynig star. While some colours are to avoid. E.g. the bedroom should avoid Eart…

Dear Sharlene, Sharlene Soh wrote: Qn 1: Could you please advise what is the impact to a person whoworks in an industry belonging to his unfavourable element but the jobscope is of a favourable element? and vice versa? Of course that won't be as favourable as having both a industry and job scope that is favourable. So it will be a mixed element career. As to whether good or bad, really depends on the element. For example, a weak wood person, if the industry is metal, but the job scope is water. Metal destroy weak wood which would seem to be bad, but as water helps wood, and metal actually makes water stronger. Therefore, this industry helps to boost the job scope eleme…

1. For larger areas (& rooms) it is strongly recommended to use the pie chart method. 2. If the two sets of Flying Stars span between two bedrooms:- 2.1. Visualise where is your bed and see which sets of flying star numbers falls within the majority of the bed and/or 2.2. If there are openings to the bedroom; consider which sets of stars covers especially the windows or any openings (doors or windows) that may be frequently-be-opened quite often. 3. Process of elimination Since both sets of flying stars:818 997 do not contain #5 nor #2 then it is safe to say that one does not have to worry about the bad earth #2 or #2 elements.

Dear Anon, Anonymous wrote: In my master bedroom, the headboard rests againstthe wall which also separates the toilet in guestbathroom? Is is acceptable to have the bedroom adjacent another room's bathroom? Would moving the bedinto a diagonal position help? In general, it is the location of the WC that is most important. If the headboard is placed on the wall that exactly where the WC is also located, then it is not very auspicious. Otherwise, if the WC is located away from the headboard, then it is not as bad. Of course, it is not as ideal. In general, the bed should be best still anchored to the wall. That means that it should be be left floating in the middle of the…
