Dear Aimie, Proper Pillars of Destiny to obtain a person's true element i.e. weak or strong, takes much effort to calculate manually. As mentioned, in earlier postings, time is precious and I concentrate only on helping users to further interpret reports, if necessary available at www.geomancy-online.com Thus, I hope you understand, imagine if I were to do manual calculations, it may take up to two or three days just for one person. Life is short and I feel available time should be used wisely instead. Warmest Regards, Cecil

Dear Ada, Ada C wrote: I have a 12 feet pine tree in my back yard. About 3 feet above the groud, the main trunk splits intotwo main trunks. Ada C wrote: Does this mean anything? My neighbour told me that is not good for feng shui, it that right? Should I cut it down? Generally, any single lone tree may create like a sha qi to the house. Which is why, it is better to create a garden with many different plants together to form a garden, rather than just a single tree or plant. This firstly, creates a better landscaping which makes it more pleasant to look at. Back to your question. Some people may view the splitting of tree trunk as inauspicious, because it represents…

1. In my opinion, there is no basic to equate pink flowers with flower of romance. 2. There are some Feng Shui practitioners that recommend the use of blue flowers - for those lacking in romance i.e. no romance luck, thou.

Dear Anon, As the Pinnacle will be one of the tallest housing board apartments, usually at the higher floors, in my opinion, there is not a major issue in either looking out to the bay or city , harbour view. What is more important considerations are: 1. Commonsense approach to Feng Shui Where possible, avoid having the unit balcony, bedrooms directly facing the afternoon WEST sun. What would be worst is an apartment that is facing exactly West to East (Or East -- west) apartment. Here, the apartment will not be spared the mercy of both morning and afternoon sun! 2. Under Flying Star Feng Shui Facing directions like NE is particuarly auspicious under Period 8 (whic…

Hello, I was recently gifted a Pixiu jade ring my by father in law and did some research on the proper way to wear it. I've read that you should wear it on your left hand middle finger with Pixiu facing away from you as that would bring luck. My question is... I am married, and wear a wedding band on my left hand ring finger... is it alright to wear the Pixiu ring on my left hand middle finger next to my wedding band? Or is there a better way to wear it in this situation? I've searched high and low and cannot find an answer.... I hope you can share some guidance!

I understand that the pair of Piyao should be placed in the east sector of the home and with the head facing between 262.5 degrees and 277.5 degrees. Presently, that is how I place them in my home. However, when I visited astore selling fengshuiitems yesterday and chatted with the sales assistant, I was appalled to betoldthat the Piyao should be placed in the west sector and facing the 15 degrees radius. The sales assistant said it mustnot beplaced in the eastsector because it is the illness sector. I am very confused because some fengshui websites said it should be placed in the east sector facing west. What is your advice please? Thank you very much

Dear Lisa, In my opinion, if one already does not have a water position at the back of the house, it is best not to have one. In general, under Feng Shui (Shapes and Form), it is not advantages to have water positions behind the house. This follows the concept that the back of the house should have a solid-backing. Warmest Regards, Cecil

Dear Mark, 1. It would be nice if we can have a look at the design. But not `compulsory' thou. 2. Where possible, doors should open inwards into the house and not outwards. 3. It is acceptable to have carved doors especially, if the owners like them. There is no `fixed' rule on the type of carved door used. 4. In fact, there are many houses in the `past' where decorative panels are used on doors. 5. Nowadays, the most common (in relation to temple main doors)are the `proud' figures of the two famous door gods one on each side of the door panel. 6. Normally a nice designed door panel is good to have and would not be a `horrible mistake'. As I do not have a full view of th…

Dear Richard, 1. Bearing any `supersitious' belief, it is generally acceptable to place the gift on a display shelf. 2. Where possible, on an open display shelf rather than enclosed one e.g. glass cabinet. 3. Para 2 should do. However, if it has more than four ie. five claws, try to let it be placed in the living room or `open' space within the living room preferably facing out of a window, or sliding glass area. 4. Avoid placing it in the bedroom (as it is considered too yang) and is bedroom is usually should be more yin (place of rest). 5. Avoid placing it on the same wall as the toilet. 6. Avoid placing it facing the kitchen door. 7. Avoid placing it facing the toile…

Dear Niteka, 1. It is difficult to say that one has an area related to the career area and another room? related to ... money room. Or another room related to romance. 2. In my opinion, if it is not personalised to an individual or using Feng Shui in a holistic way, this type of `understanding' is too general to be able to work. 3. I believe that applying fixed template although can bring one "hope", it can also conversely bring one disappointment. As such concepts means that it applies to everyone and I feel that it is too "generalised". Warmest Regards, Cecil

1. The professional approach is to apply Flying star Feng Shui. And the most advantages is to see especially where the water star #8 is; and if it can be activated. 2. For example, if the water star is at the living room area and a "suitable" place can be allocated for the fish tank then this is the most ideal location. In addition, in general, locations that a fish tank can be placed are locations that have water star #1 or even locations where there are bad earth e.g. if the living room location has #5 and/or #2 and /or #9. 3. Please note that Gua numbers are secondary to the above. Even if one's gua is not suited to having a water position in a home, but if say a loc…

Dear Anon, There are two dimensions when looking at the placement of a fish tank: 1. Shapes and Forms Often, the advise is to place it on the same wall along (but not close to) the main door. (Around the main door location) Avoid placing it at the centrepoint of the house. 2. Flying Star Feng Shui Under Flying Star Feng Shui, locations that has #7 and or #6 (PLUS) also that this is a water location e.g. the living room area - can be considered acceptable for a water postion. But under Flying Star, becareful not to place a water position at locations which #3 or #4 or multiples of these bad wood element. The rationale is that such a water position can `inflame' bad wood fu…

Thanks, Cecil. My office is in tower block located at a cross junction. A FS practitioner once advised me that I should locate some of my "aggressive" looking displays in such a way that they face this road junction. This was a sculpture of an eagle, two sculptures of Shiva Nataraja (an Indian deity with multiple hands). I figured the luo pan may have the same effect. Pity though, it is really quite a piece of art and I rather it faces me.

Dear Peck Wun, Yes, it is preferred that an altar does not face the main entrance. Here, it is considered disrespectful as you are asking guan yin to guard your door for you. If you can, (if possible) although the altar can be located facing the main door, where possible, try to see if guan yin be facing towards a wall instead of directly, facing the main door. Avoid, tilting guan yin but as mentioned above, see if you can allow her to face e.g the wall next to the main entrance. Or alternatively, change the location (if possible) Warmest Regards, Cecil

Dear Kenneth, 1. Frankly, hopefully the abacus is not too large! Else imagine usually we have a desk-top PC and other work items on our work-table. 2. And such things may take up too much of the real-estate on our desktop. 3. Furthermore, it is much more difficult or not feasible to sub-divide a "tiny" area such as a worktable into eight sectors. 4. But, if you must insist, usually, the Sheng Qi (chi) sector is one's Prosperity or Excellent sector. 5. A more reasonable approach but even so, may not be achievable is to sit facing one's prosperity and/or excellent sector. Warmest Regards, Cecil

Let's be practical (and reasonable). Can we turn back the clock? (Go back in time, today?) Yes or No? If can't what other remedy are you talking about?

Dear Maria, From the perspective of the Flying Star Compass School, it is advisable to identify the Water Star. For instance, during Period 7, the position of water wealth corresponds to the Water Star = #7. Additionally, during Period 7, it is common to hear references to "double 7's". If you have reviewed some of the discussions in this forum, spanning from several years ago to last year, you will find that this is the optimal location for activating the water star. In Period 8, make an effort to determine the location of the water star #8. If one has even a slight understanding of what I am "referring" to, it is advisable not to inquire about "…

Hi, Please see below:- This is the same problem faced by many in Housing and Development Flats where part of the Kitchen is behind the altar. Due to lack of space, you can place it with the kitchen wall (behind) it. However, it should not be directly behind the kitchen STOVE. Frankly, what you mentioned is not Feng Shui but `superstitious' belief. Therefore, I try not to comment on such matters. Perhaps you can use your `sixth' sense i.e if you are happy with it... this is usually ok. Warmest Regards Cecil
