Dear Anon, 1. Perhaps, we can look at it from a different perspective: 2. Could one night light imply "ONE NIGHT STAND?" Or worse if there are two night stands? Does it mean that one of the spouse has "TWO NIGHT STANDS?". *JOKE* 3. Frankly, these are pretty minor in Feng Shui. But on an asthetic side, often, a queen bed seem to look `more balanced' or uniform with two lamps on each side. Then again, it is not very critical in Feng Shui. 4. Here, we can look at it also from "commonsense" approach i.e. it would be more convenient at night for each partner to turn on and off the light when they go to e.g. the bathroom or outside the hall. Otherwise, the next time, …

Dear Peck Wun Please see below:- Last month, while doing a house audit, I noticed that my client also stayed at a long corridor. In addition to this, my client's house is also at a long corridor. Please refer to the attached illustration file. In this file you can notice that from inside the house, one can see a neighbour's directional sign (with an arrowhead) slicing thru the main door. This is indeed a threat to my client's house. With such a threat, one has no choice but to use a Ba Gua mirror to neutralise such a threat. Unless, one can speak nicely to the neighbour and hopefully, they take down this threat. Else, one needs to neutralise it. In public housing, …

Hi Master Cecil, Thanks a lot for replying my previous questions (2). I'm sorry for taking so long to reply.I have some question regarding the present house they are staying. I have done some basic study on fengshui. As follows: 1) My parents are Kua No 4. My sisteris Kua No 6 (staying with them). My brother is Kua No 2 (Not yet staying with them due to the house that can't be sold) 2) Their Living and Dining and Kitchen are in L shape 'cos the walldividing theLiving and Dining is taken down 20 years ago when they buy it. The Kitchen and Dining area is designed in shorter L shape as built. I feel the flow of 'qi' is too abrupt. Especially one end of the Living has Glas…

Dear Anon, Where possible, a house should not have missing corners. But there are exceptions like the shape of the top two units of the condominum. Here, the shape of two palms in gentle embrace or `receiving' position outweights any `missing' corner. If one looks carefully, the house is triangular in shape. This is not ideal but symbolism of the house and also that it has a Double 7 at the main entrance, plus the centrepoint is `clear' space works for it. Therefore, I am trying to show `exceptional' units that need not conform to the present mind set of houses that must not have missing corners. In this case, if one looks carefully at the master bedroom it is infact a pr…

Dear Anon, Please see below:- I believe the picture is the artistist impression of what the site looks like. It is always good to have trees as it will encourage birds also. I believe so. 1. Here, the overriding factor is the frontage of the unit circled under Picture 1. If one notices carefully, the top two units are in the shape of two hands in a `receiving' position. (Try to look closely and one can see that there is a `U' shape. In fact both units have Double 7. 2. Next, the main door is facing the water position for the circled unit. 3. It is on a gradient hill. The bedroom of the circled unit is sitting on tip of the entire house. This is symbolic of t…

Dear Hazel, hazel wrote: According to the wealth report: Your true wealth sector is South-East (Prosperity). This represents Money Luck & Promotion. As a fresh graduate, I also have not much luck in my career, even though I did quite well in school. What can I do to improve things? Generally, there are a few wealth sectors. Dear Anon, 1. Firstly, house numbers are considered secondary to Feng Shui. There are two "camps" with regards to this thinking. Like you mentioned some FS practioners would encourage the numbering to be rising at 45 degrees to denote or symbollically represent `progress' or as you mentioned: vertical such as 8 8 8 Others, would consider numbers secondary and not as important ie. the numbers can be at the same level. 2. In my opinion, I do believe that numbers are of secondary importance but it is really no harm raising the numbers 45 degrees or at a vertical position. (Unless this is specifically not permitted in a specific country). Again, symbolism plays an important r…

Recently my neighbour who is renovating thir house asked my family to help them keep 3 items. A mask, A Violin bow and a purse. The rest of the stuff they actually shifted to another place for storage. I find this very funny.... And would like to know if these items mean anything. The Mask is a Wall mounted type that is black and white and looks quite horrible... The Violin Bow is with out the Violin and we rejected keeping the purse. Anyone have any advice about this?

Dear Hong, Since you have accepted to keep the mask and violin bow, it is best to e.g. wrap them up (if not done so already) in newspaper and keep it in a store room - not display it. It is good that you have rejected the purse. Do check when their renovations are over and more importantly, when are they collecting it back. Avoid displaying these two items in your home or visible in the living room. Usually, if one has a Chinese Loupan, any objects that harbour any "illl effects" can make the Loupan compass needle sway in different directions. Warmest Regards, Cecil

I attended a seminar on baubiology. They offer a course in baubiology from florida. Usually, it is german concept of building homes which are in harmony with nature and also environmentally safe. They stress avoiding the water lines and electromagnetic lines and electric lines. According to their theory the houses should be built with environmental sound material. One should not sleep with telephones, electric clocks, tv and computer in the bedrooms etc. I attended the seminar last year. If I come across the notes and address of that course. I will post it. Usually, in this city there are some baubiology trained inspectors who come and inspect your homes for harmful rad…

Dear Jennifer, Try to do abit more homework to check for any other leaks in the home. Most common `major' leaks are:- 1. Location of toilet (at centre-point or next to main door area). 2. When entering main door, one can see the back (or qi flows impeded from front door to the back. 3. Stand inside the house i.e. stand at the main door looking out of the house and also from all various windows lookig out of the house. 4. As you had mentioned - external Shapes and Forms of the house. Are there any other inauspicious Shapes and Forms? Please see below:- At behind of the house:- a. Is there any water positions e.g. swimming pools? b. Is there a solid wall at the back of …

I have another question, after he was born his name was givenbymy brother-in-law's friend "jin". After a few years my family consulted one of the diety and believe his name "jin" same as his fathername 'kim'. Presently, his name is Lim Choon Jin. His birth element is weak wood. Is there a name suitable for him? Hope you would help us. Awaiting your advice and reply. Thank you in advance. Warmest regards Sophia Chia

Thank you so much for your reply I very much appreciate it. It has made things very clear for me and now I can proceed with confidence. I do have a very good compass and as a matter of interest if you have Google Earth and then zoom down to look at your property, at the top of the page in "TOOLS" there is an option for "RULER" click this and the click two points on your property this will give you a very accurate direction of your property. I have double checked this with my compass and it is very accurate. Of course not to be relied upon but as a way to double check it is invaluable. My best regards and thanks again. Dale.

Dear Joe, Indeed you have asked an interesting question. 1. Very often if one is house `hunting' and go look at houses that are not occupied, when we first step into the house (without first opening the window), when we breathe in the air, some how it is `stale' air. In many cases, after new houses were constructed, when I do the audit, I do feel the above. 2. Here, it is my believe that human Qi is equally important within a house or office for the following reasons:- a. Qi around us can consist of steam, weather, gas and force (atmospheric pressure). b. One unrelated but quite important matter is the moon. For example, high and low tides are attributed to the moons in…

1. To better understand your home Feng Shui, and if you are trying to DIY, then, you have to be serious about working out "charts" like the Eight House and Flying Star of your home. 2. For this interior of your home, after you have done above, you need to analyse and find cures or if there are good locations for enhancements do so. 3. You should also apply Shapes and Forms Feng Shui, more importantly to scan the environment for any threats such as lone lamp-posts or sharp angles of other buildings aimed at your home. Shashikant M. wrote: My house main door is south east facing. What has to be done for the positive and effects. 4. Seriously if you want to do a properFen…

Dear Gabi, All of us have taken an examination or examination(s) in our life. And usually we find some teachers teaching us some "techniques" in how to approach certain types of questions. For example, one of the most common type of examinations (school examinations) is: that we are given a time limit i.e. to try to answer 5 questions say out of 10 questions given. Many of our teachers will ask us to allocate a specific time for each of the questions. Thus if we were told to answer this exam paper within 2 1/2 hours and need to (compulsory) answer 5 questions then we should try to allocate 30 minutes each. And the logical way is to try to answer all 5 questions giv…

If you are applying Flying Star Feng Shui; then: 1. Best to determine where the most yang qi or "bright areas" or openings. Often, this is the best bet for the "frontage" or as the frontage of the home. 2. If you often slam shut your main entrance door into your apartment; then most likely this should not be the facing direction. 3. If you are into the DIY Feng Shui; then I would use Para 1 as the facing direction. 4. But for those who locally we call it "Kiasu" or "Kiasee" = want to play safe, could draw out a few Flying Stars e.g. one for S2 and for another facing direction. 5. You wrote: "is there a particular remedy I need for the south 8M8W3T" For remedies (not jus…

Master Cecil, Sorry for delaying my response. I am very happy to see your response. I would send you satellite photo for outside view, once i get everything confirmed and before we make an offer to the house. As of now we are still searching. Because of your website we were able to know which direction is good for my husband (bread Winner). Keeping that in mind we are very careful in selecting a house in a good community. Thanks again Hari

Dear Lei Sun, This idea was first mooted out by several Austrailian Feng Shui practitioners in the past: this was around the mid 1990's. But, several of these practitioners had retracted this method. Even down-under, one should still use the current North-South compass orientation - and should not flip it to South-North. This is the current consensus amongst most Traditional Feng Shui practitioners. Warmest Regards, Cecil I am living Best Regards Lei
