--- Note Added by Cecil Lee --- As there are many ways to write a Chinese word in " romanised form ", for example, some words can be `pronounced' under a specific Chinese dialect e.g. Cantonese or Hokkien etc... It can also be a different `tone'. It is hard to guess what the word refers to. It is best that the word is in Mandarin characters or if one can, provide some accompanied text or a description of the object. It would be nice if possible a picture of the object. Otherwise, it can mean alot of things even thou it can be in Han Yu Pin Yin without the `tone' on top of each character. Warmest Regards, Cecil Lee --------------------------------------- Dear cecil, What …

Has anyone read FS for Idiots? I would like your opinion please. I like the charts they have and the classical style. I have thrown out all the Lin and Too books I bought. There are too many contradictions there. So far I like this Forum's books (I bought them and use them)and the above. I'm open to any suggestions of other "classic FS" texts. Thank you.

Dear Desma, The first thing we need to know is that Feng Shui is about balance. For small objects or items such as a ring, it really does not matter. I usually apply the 33.3 percent ruleset. Where, if the item is not greater than the above either in mass, volume or area, it does not really matter that much. Furthermore, I believe, the sharp corners of the diamond should not pose any problems. A square diamond ring, can be considered of the `Earth' element if we talk interms of its shape and some would consider that it is derived from the earth, it is thus an Earth element. (Square shape represents Earth element). In some other culture perhaps, I am not sure if square dia…

Hi Everyone, For those who are reading messages through the mailing list, I have just updated the conference " Photo Tours with Interest " with two illustrations: 1. The Sterling condominum revisited. Graphic file showing an illustration of why the top two units are excellent choice. 2. The Eight Lucky Symbols of Buddha. This is where some Buddhist Feng Shui practitioners advise home owners to bury the Eight Lucky Symbols under their main entrance and or display a medallion in their house or office. Warmest Regards, Cecil P.S. The Photo Tours with Interest contains pictures and thus not appropriate to be sent thru the mailing list.

Dear Anon, Thanks for bring up this interesting question. 1. For a better picture, please refer to: http://www.geomancy.net/fs/5element.htm Please look thru, the TEN HEAVENLY STEMS, where: Fire element can be : Lightning vs Burning incense or Sun vs kitchen Wood element : Timer vs Hewn timber or a small plant For each element there is a `BIG' and `SMALL' 2. One should remember not to over `kill' or under `kill' in Feng Shui. The thing to remember is that each element has a `BIG' and a `SMALL'. For example, 6 coins refers to BIG METAL. It is quite acceptable to use BIG METAL to neutarlise a beam. But if it is e.g. the edge of the corner, do we need such a `BIG' metal as…

Currently, I am still not `satisified' with the current materials on the course at geomancy.net is suppose to launch. Will only launch it when I am completely satisfied with the quality and content. Just to share with forum readers. I recently shifted into my new condo apartment in July 1999. On shifting in, my career did not improve. In fact, took a nose-dive. I was by-passed for a promotion and my boss was snubbing me for circumstances beyond my control. I read a FS book that stated that having a fish tank in the north sector of the living room will improve one's career prospects. I didn't want to manage the hassles of a fish tank, so, I thought of using something more static. I decided to install tiles of fishes on my cabinet that was located in the north sector of the living room just to see if things improve. Surprise! Surprise! six months down the road, I have…
