Dear Anon, Anonymous wrote: Does a block number of a flat/apartment have any significance in feng shui audit? The feng shui luck comes from the house interior and exterior surrounding layout. So the location of where the block is located and how it faces is more important than the unit number or apartment number. So you should focused a good layout or good surrounding rather than just the number. You should only consider the unit number only after you have made sure the house and surrounding are good. ie if there is two units of the same layout and facing direction, but one on higher or lower floor. Then you can check which unit number is better. Otherwise, block or ap…

Hello, I have a quick question. My house has a electric/phone poll in front of the main door. From what I have read, this blocks off luck and opportunities. Is there anything I can do to counter this or at least make it less harmful? My 2nd question, not sure if it's because of the electric/phone poll blocking my front door but I havn't had ANY LUCK at all with finding a job. I graduated from college 6 months ago but have no luck finding a job. Every time I think I am about to find one (really rare occasions), it seems to slip away from me. I have looked at the outside of my house and everything seems fine except for the poll. I live on a hill but in the middle. From ins…

Sir: I lived in Singapore as a child and remember the house designs and examples of how geomancy can change luck. Now I live in Virginia Beach, Virginia. My neighbors who are Baptist pastors have had a lot of bad luck this year to include today, Christmas eve. Two episodes include death. To get to our street, you must turn down a side street about 50 yards long. Their house is at the end of this street so if you were in a car, your headlights would shine on their front door the whole way. The front door leads directly in to their house and living room without a blocking wall or step inside the house. As I remember fromtime in Singaore, this was never the case in the hou…

Dear Cecil and friends, I've just bought a new condo, the blue horizon at west coast cresent. I'm wondering how's the feng shui of this project by far east. The unit i've bought is a 2+1 unit at the 4th floor tower A. Why it attract me is because the surrounding has no blockage. We're facing the japanese school and west coast park. It is very windy and bright. Our unit is directly in front of the roof top garden, which is near BBQ pit. Alot of people might think that near BBQ pit will be very noisy and no privacy, but by far, I've not seen a single soul using there or sitting around there because most residence would prefer to do their BBQ by the swimming pool or club ho…

Dear Members, 1. On member was asking on a book on choosing names. 2. Dr. Evelyn Lip had written a book approximately 110 pages. 3. One intersting topic is choosing names according to the number of strokes in each character besides other significance, symbolism and traditions in Chinese numbers. 4. In my opinion, the book is a simple introduction to Chinese numbers. And if you can find it in your local library, it is certainly worth borrowing it especially, if one wants to do a `research' into this area. (I think it should cost around US$10.00 or less.) Warmest Regards, Cecil

Dear Fraser, I believe Lillian Too as a different book on each of the topic you mentioned: One one landscaping and the other on `Water Dragon Classic' (an older book maybe there is a new version). Personally, I have not read both books so unable to provide any comments. Anyone care to comment or share with us your views if you have read any of these books. (I not sure sure the exact title..... but the titles should be around what I mentioned.) There may be new ones... as I am quite busy, did not have a look at any of them nor confirm what School are they practising. Perhaps, you can also try checking out Amazon.com or Barnes & Nobles for these topics. Warmest Regard…

Dear Mark, In my opinion:- 1. Books If you are reading Lillian Too's books then go for more of `Shapes and Form' concepts. I personally feel that she is better at `Shapes and Form' FS than numerology topics such as Flying Star etc.. I personally feel that a person's inclination is an important factor in deciding which topics or subjects to go into. For example, if one notice carefully, Harvard University or personnels in the university are more inclined towards `humanity' or subjects on humanity. (Less focus on mathematics). Where else, those who studies at e.g. University of California or MIT, are more inclined towards logic or mathematics or such sciences. Thus, one may…

Dear Carina, In Feng Shui, the compass direction North or 0 degrees is represented by the Water element. This is the rationale why many Feng Shui practitioners relate the link between water positions and water. `North' therefore refers to the true compass direction i.e. at 0 degrees. North therefore does not mean relative north positions. Warmest Regards, Cecil

Dear Anon, 1. Currently, the consensus amongst many Feng Shui practitioners is that the influence of the bookshelf, or its `knife' "cutting" effect applies to a person who, for example sits with such an influence. 2. Some highly conservative FS practitioners may advise that it is inauspicious to have the open bookself near to the main entrance door. 3. A realistic view is that Para 1 is the main concern. For Para 2, this is highly subjective and in my opinion, not likely to pose any problems. However, the main idea is to keep the space at the main entrance area clear (as possible). This is are more important consideration. Warmest Regards, Cecil

1. Some use ba zi to check whether a period is good for them i.e. financial gain or loss or be careful of purchasing of a home. 2. Others look at auspicious dates for negotiations. 3. There are others that feel that the Feng Shui is good before buying a home. 4. Many of us have our motive for purchasing a home and other factors include ability to obtain loan, bank evaluation of the home etc.... Overall, discuss with your immediate family and always bring along the whole family to view a home.

Is there a book out there outlines how to determine and address external factors such as green dragon, white tiger, black turtle, and red bird? I have been reading a lot and learningEight Mansion, Xuan Kong Flying Star,Bazi, and Face reading. I considered myself as an amateur with significant interest in learning all the importantelements in "Feng Sui" My personal experience has been wonderful with dailymartial artpractices and now with new addition on "Feng Sui" experience. Please steer me to the right direction and look forward to your favorable response. Thank you.

Dear Bill, If your local book store does not have the books, you can order it from Amazon.com. (Alternatively you should be able to purchase it from other major cyberbook stores e.g. Barnesandnobles.com. Books by Raymond Lo:- 1. Feng-shui and Destiny by Raymond Lo. I think this is one of his first books. I call it a "classic book" because it is clearly written and in general gives you a basic understanding of all well known Compass School methods of Feng Shui. Such as the Eight House Theory, a short write-up of Pilalrs of Destiny and a " dab " of the use of Flying Star Theory and the use of the three coin method in I-Ching divinity. Other of his books 2. Feng Shui and Des…

Dear Wasis, We live in a practical world and many of us should not be deprived of books (some of us loved so much). For `bookworms' or those who simply love books, would be surrounded by them. Therefore, the only practical advise is to keep them neatly.. it would be good to have them kept inside bookshelves. If one has open bookshelves, so much the better. Although it is said that books are like knives, I could try to avoid placing it facing the bed. If one's bedroom has sufficient room for the bed and a separate area for say the study area or small corner bookself, facing away from the bed, the better. Else, for many people, it is still acceptable here. Warmest Regards,…

Dear Aj, Usually, poison arrows such as the corner of a table is considered more `important' consideration - to avoid. For bookshelves with books, this can be quite subjective as some of us may not feel the impact. However, if one is concerned with it, one could try to use doors on the bookshelf or covered with cloth (not sure how practical this is). I believe that as you had mentioned that it is above the bed, this should not be an issue as it is not aimed directly at any part of the body.. (on the bed). Warmest Regards, Cecil

Dear Josephine, 1. Presently, from my personal observations, so far, I do not recall or find anyone, who was directly affected with books facing them. 2. However, based on the concept of " If one no longer sees it, it does not become a - threat ". One option, if you still want to cover the bookself is using e.g. a cloth or something of that nature or install cabinet doors. 3. Is the pillar pointed at the bed? If the pillar is not pointed towards the bed (but parallel to it this is OK. Not much one can do otherwise (to extend the "wall" or pillar such that it no longer becomes a pointed corner). Warmest Regards, Cecil

Dear Anon, Yes, sometime back in the 1970's it was very common to purchase boomerangs from Oz. Frankly, I myself had also did decorate my home with a single boomerang and at one time two huge fork and spoons! So far, to me, it seems that they do not remotely look like knifes or swords. Thus I feel it is OK. Warmest Regards, Cecil

Dear Tegoeh, In my opinion, Feng Shui if properly applied can help boost one's luck i.e. health, harmony and prosperity. But, I would not recommend quick fix ideas; unless one has already been `blessed' with good earth luck e.g. excellent Shapes and Form Feng Shui of the house - which can give a quantum leap in Feng Shui. Otherwise, one may have to do much of the investigative work to try to boost one's Feng Shui. Therefore, if one is doing D.I.Y. Feng Shui then, one have to spent some time to:- 1. Shapes and Form Although we cannot change much of our external environment, we can try to find out and enhance or neutralise threats to the site/house from any poison arrows o…

Dear Anon, 1. One should not reverse the North/Sough directions mapping at Southern Hemisphere. 2. Some Feng Shui practitioners in the Southern Hemisphere has mentioned to do so, but so far, there is no concrete proof to do so. 3. It is best to use the same model for both the North and South. Warmest Regards, Cecil

Dear Anon, Frankly, you may have to first find out whether your posting to this new position is permanent or not. And since you were posted as a quick fix, try to speak to your supervisor (Boss) that you are equally unhappy with the new post. Depending on your current work performance, length of stay in the company, the better your previous work performance in your existing posting the better it is for you to "bargain" with your boss. Most likely to see if you can work in this position temporarily - as a last resort. Warmest Regards, Cecil
