Dear Anon, Further to what I had mentioned earlier, please accept my sincere apologies. Earlier, I just realised after reading your message again that you had mentioned that your bed is a `wooden' bed. In such a situation, I can understand why the `suggestion' was made for you to place 4 coins. Where 4 represent SMALL WOOD. Since the bed is made of wood, and not to overkill by placing 3 coins (where 3 represents BIG WOOD); usually based on Five Element concept, the " 4 coins with the wooden bed " would equate = 3 or Big Wood. Again, I feel that the above is based on `Beliefs' and I find it really no harm if this `process' is continued. But based on the concept of applying…

Dear Oliv, Actually quite alot of concepts on the stove position comes from the interpretation of the 8 tigrams. For example, the two major concerns of many Traditional Feng Shui practitioners are:- 1. The North-West. The North-West is suppose to be the represented by THE FATHER or HEAVEN. Thus one may come across this often used term " Fire at Heaven's gate". Although you selected NW = H1, many FS practitioners consider it inauspicious to have a stove at NW. Since this is like having a fire at the Heaven's gate. Or letting the father or this is suppose to be the head of the house under fire! Hello. I've read that the front of a stove where the oven door is …

Dear Mr. Lee, 1. You are correct, I didn't provide elaboration - my apologies. My father had been told by a geomancer that his business fortune will be unstable (at best) this year. Aside from several other things he was advised (by considering the place of birth, time, name, etc) was the placement of a bagua in front of the office. Yes, business has been poor, but it also has to do apparantly with the general nature of the horse year vs snake sign of my father. 2. Your advice will be implemented immediately. I have removed the mirror and will replace with a convex one. Many thanks for your guidance. Best Regards

Dear Anon, Based on Shapes and Form Feng Shui, it is best to place the fountain either within or at the balcony area (of the frontage). In Flying Star Feng Shui, we usually use it to locate the water stars e.g. #1's + #7's. However, if we are not using Flying Star but basing more on `intuition' then: 1. As mentioned earlier, if you balcony `has an opening' the fountain can be located at usually the `east' side or when one is facing or looking out of the balcony, try to locate it a the `east' side wall or open space. 2. Besides the balcony, and if you have an alternative `large frontage' especially if you house is rectangular in shape, the fountain can be located again at …

Dear Chrissy, Actually the Chinese 7th month has already started (25th July 2006). This year because of the intercalarymonth falling on 7th lunar month, there is an extra 7th month. Therefore, this year, the Chinese 7th month lasts until 21 September 2006. Traditionally, this is more of a Chinese custom of not moving-in during the Chinese 7th month. However, previously, when information flow is not as prevalent or as international as today, many non-Chinese still continue to move-in during (the Chinese 7th month). Thus, if you are not a Chinese nor do not stay in Asia, then, for practical reasons, you can still move-in during "our - Chinese" 7th month. As not all …

I can recommend a book for those interested in learning which foods are yin or yang, with an analysis of the 5 elements. "Between Heaven and Earth," by Harriet Beinfield (not sure of the spelling of author's last name). This book may not be available outside the US, however. Hope this helps. --Joe

Dear Linh, If you are installing a lily pond, you have to take note of the following:- 1. The pond must not be greater than 33.3 percent of the entire area of the house. 2. Generally or personally it is considered not that favourable for a weak fire person to own a pond or fish tank. 2.1. As it was felt that this MAY greatly affect the person e.g. extinguish his weak fire element. 2.2. This will lead to severe problems e.g. health or intense competition at work. 2.3. Similarly, if one is a strong water person, this is equally bad as one has too much water and will lead to the person having difficulties in his life. 2.4. Fortunately, Feng S…

1. Yes, the number of hobs is one consideration. Hops as in the stove burner. And often, the Flying Star chart is looked at to futher fine tune whether the hobs are either even or odd number(s). 2. Traditionally, matt finished stainless steel is OK. 3. One Feng Shui school of thought considers it "inauspicious" to have a highly reflective glass behind the stove. Or a highly polished reflective stainless steel material. As this School felt that a home should not have TWO stoves. And such a reflective mirror symbolises a home having two stoves. Here, the conotation is that the male partner will have to "support" two partners e.g. a wife and a mistress = TWO STOVES. 4. We…

Dear Anon, It is hard to associate electrical problems to Feng Shui. However, as Feng Shui uses the "commonsense approach", in a broad sense, such things can be associated with or co-related with Feng Shui. Basically, there is no past written information of the effects of electricity on Feng Shui as it has only been invented by Edison in our century. Based on "commonse", I believe, most of us feel strongly that this may be a potential for a fire if the problem is not resolved. The closest to this is that it is considered inauspicious to have the bedroom above a kitchen. The reason is because although incidents such as a fire in a kitchen is uncommon, this would be the mo…

Dear Barbara, A cemetry is considered a `Yin' environment. What you can do is to create a Yang environment. Yes, you should plut a Pakua mirror above your patio. Another way to counteract this is to paint the side of your wall `bright colours' such as Pink. This is to create a Yang environment. Can you let me know which direction of this side of the house before I recommend the colour for the door? Yes, you can also use curtains. Make sure that they are bright coloured. Again, I need the information on the direction inorder to recommend u the appropriate colour for the curtains. It is not good to plant large bushes as it would harbour `spirits' especially large trees. Wha…

Hi Cecil and Jacqueline Maybe the lady in question has inauspicious Flying stars in her bedroom thus rendering pregnancy difficult. Mountain stars # 7 and #9 I understand are female stars, maybe this could help. Furthermore, Mountain Stars #1 and #2 can cause miscarriage etc. A client of mine had a miscarriage a few months ago, bought a new house, the #9 star was in her bedroom and she became pregnant fairly quickly actually. Just a thought....... Cheers Glyn

I have only 1/2-4/2 time and those peoples say this year TIGER is not appropriate to move when TIGER year started. 1. Look at it this way: Chinese is one of the four oldest civilizations. And I am sure, in the last five centuries till-now; there are already many cycles with the Tiger year that comes and goes. 2. And we cannot just say that just because Tiger year is no good; cannot move, cannot get married, cannot have children. Might as well say: don't bother to work in the Tiger year or travel then. 3. One common saying goes: one man's meat is another man's poiso…

Dear Shaunna, Shaunna Repa wrote: So, are you saying aHOUSE doesn't have a Gua # only the PERSON? I'm still somewhat confused. The information I read kept talking about the house's Gua # based on its sitting position but gave no further info on how to figure it out. Sorry, don't mean to be a pest. Thanks, Shaunna Generally, when it comes to the house, the best analysis is the Flying Star (Xuan Kong Feng Shui) chart. Determine your main door facing positions, and then you will be able to chart out a numerology chart that is based on the 9 numbers. Given it uses the 24 mountains, directions, it allows you to chart out many unique variations of luck for a house depending o…

Dear Rose, Thank you for your comments. Yes, I had that in mind, but because the main program is already too complex especially with the older modules it was difficult to add clear explanation at the same time provide technical information. Thus, thus this major revision is done to provide two sets of report, one is the full technical analysis, and the other is the explanation only. In this way, I can take advantage of the specific targets templates and provide more in-depth explanation without making the report too long or too complex to generate. In addition, it was a long time since the codings were looked at due to constant addition, so the new revision gives me a cha…

These are some considerations:- 1. Usually you need to laise with two parties:- 1.1 the government body or those in-charge of exhumation 1.2 They will get in touch with the grave digger(s). In fact, grave diggers are more worried about getting the correct protocol done! As they feel that they are equally affected if they do the wrong thing! 1.3 For example, whenever those in the know; would place a canvas sheet above the grave before digging it. 1.4 Usually, a representative of the family would be present: to later give a hong bao (red packet). 1.5 If possible avoid bringing youngsters to the site. Youngsters upto 12 years old should avoid being present. Never accep…

Dear Anon, Sorry for posting only the initials of the word HDB. By the way, the intitials is not HBD but HDB In Singapore, the government has a statutory board (semi-government Board) that builds houses for the majority of the population. Approximately 90 percent of Singaporeans live in a Housing Board Flat or HDB for short. Usually, these flats are 99 year leases and partiall subsidised by the government. The purpose of the government is to making public housing affordable to everyone. Frankly, there is no difference between a `home' or a housing board flat. In our common language here, usually private housing are usually condominium, flats, landed property etc... and t…

Dear Gines, 1. Thanks for the attachment posted. 2. Yes, the attached layout where I had plotted the centrepoint is close to what you had plotted. (The balcony can be omitted.) 3. Overall, the plus point is that your house is a complete rectangle (exclude the protusion i.e. balcony). 4. Looks like the toilet is considered at the centre-point of the house. 5. Frankly, and honestly speaking, I have not found a proper cure for this. The only thing that has been advised is to keep it more yang or bright. Avoid, placing anything surrounding the toilet wall or the passage way. Warmest Regards, Cecil

Ask any billionaires and many still live in the same home where they prospered. Unfortunately, many call themselves millionaires but literally, all their money is borrowed from the bank and many even have their homes mortgaged. Billionaires don't change their desk positions seasonally. So, do you want to follow the filthy rich or the DOGS?

Teaching is considered as belonging to the wood element. As wood element implies "growth" of knowledge for a student. Just imagine a plant, growing into a strong tall tree. Like any tree, it does not need to be a specific tree, right?

Dear Glyn Apologise for " scaring you " on the topic of Devil's gate. The point to note here is that:- From what I understand, your house is large by comparison. But the main important consideration is that the trees `orderly' planted and it should be well kept and and the space surrounding it tidy. This would be OK. For the West, you can still continue to place the windchime as this is your very auspcious location. But try to avoid at SW.
