Dear Ang, 1. You have a valid point here. Frankly, as far I know, so far no one has studied this area in a large scale before. As it is a `recent' while Chinese Feng Shui has been around for more than 2,000 years. 2. Until someone truly studies this closely, we cannot say for sure how accurate their birthchart are based on Pillars of Destiny. 3. However, if we see the logic behind basic Pillars of Destiny, it uses one's Year, Month, Day and Time chart, most likely:- 3.1. the Year chart is still unchanged because no baby has an incubation period of more than 1 year i.e. unless his/her birth falls near Chinese Lunar New Year (end of one Chinese New Year) towards the new ye…

Dear Anon, Anonymous wrote: I heard from my friend that since i have a Chye, 'cai ', in my name, i should display the word 'cai ' at home. I was told that the 'cai' is to be placed upside down, paste on the wall. Then put a vaseor container with some coins inside and place iton the floor under the 'cai '. This will help to generate wealth for me? Is it true? Please advise me on my wealth location. Thanks. Frankly, this isn't correct. Whatever meaning your name has, can't be activated by placing something in your home. The meaning in your name is only so call 'activated' when people call your name. It is not activated by any other means. That is why when most people choo…

Dear MK, MK MK wrote: May I know how to calculate the 5 elements? Frankly, this is rather complicated as you need to determine the number of elements you have for each elements, assign the element strengthen, and take into consideration the combinations and changes in elements. The simple way is take the total element and number of each element. Factor in at least the weightage of total element strength and individual element weightage and you should have a fair percentage breakdown. I am so glad this topic was brought up. Cecil, I understand what you are saying in regards to using local standard time for Pillars of Destiny and Feng Shui calculations? But I'm completely lost when I try to follow inauspicious/auspicious days for my true element. I live in Los Angeles, U.S. (Pacific Standard Time) and when I look at your real-time forecast it is for the day ahead. So today is March 9th and your forecast is for March 10. Is today really a "rabbit" day instead of a "tiger" day for Los Angeles? Or do I just use the forecast for March 9th?

Dear Val, Understand that there will be a confusion. In fact, quite recently, there is an earlier forum message seeking clarification of Gua 5 (Kua 5). Please do a SEARCH for the above. The rationale is because when the calculation "hits" Gua 5, it is re-directed to the correct Gua / Kua based on male or female. By-the-way (BTW), therefore " Gua 5 " is actually the centre Gua. And since there are only eight sectors, there is no such thing as an actual centre Gua / Kua 5. Please go to the earlier message and you can find out more. Warmest Regards, Cecil Much

Dear Anamika, In Chapter 5 of my book Applied Feng Shui Made Easy; you can safely use either method 1 or 2 as they are applicable even on or after 2001:- Method 1 ======= 100 - 1 = 99 99 / 9 = 11 remainder 0 Gua 0 or 9 (considered Gua 9) Method 2 ======= 0 + 1 = 1 10 - 1 = 9 Gua = 9 .................................................. Subject 2: Male, 1/1/2103 Method 1 ======== 100 - 3 = 97 97 / 9 = 10 remainder 7 Gua = 7 Method 2 ======= 0 + 3 = 3 10 - 3 = 7 Gua = 7 .................................................. Subject 3: Male, 1/1/2100 Method 1 ======= 100 - 0 = 100 100 / 9 = 11 remainder 1 Gua = 1 Method 2 ======= 0 + 0 = 0 10 - 0 = 10 1 + 0 = 1 Gua = 1 In the past…

Dear Alvin, There are two major considerations, here. Firstly, as you have mentioned: that you are a weak fire person. Therefore, on a hobby level, it is not that advisable to rear fishes given that water can inadvertenly extinguish your weak fire element. However, another major consideration is the "luck" factor of the home. Here, each of us is an individual with our own distinctive date and time of birth. Equally, each home has it's date of birth. Senario ONE 1. The fish tank was placed correctly at the water wealth sector. For example sectors that may have water star #8 (present water wealth location - under Flying star Feng Shui) and sectors like #6 where there …

Dear Anon, This is based on very general theory. I would rather classify this as textbook cures where Book authors will ask explain the location eg. South = Fire and let you do whatever necessary to enhance the location based on a fixed element. I believe all your four questions, what has been done is to simply super-impose the Four Symbolic animals `exactly' into the home environment. This is really not the correct way to apply Feng Shui based on the Five elements. For example, the South is already considered warm. Introducing a warm object e.g. a Phoenix would add more `Fire' into the location. If there is already `petty' quarrels within the sector, introducing or addin…

As a rule of thumb; often it is said that best not to let the STOVE face the window (if one can / could avoid it). As for the rest of what you had mentioned; sink and fridge; this is considered acceptable. It would be nice-to have the oven not face the window or face a bedroom door.

Since you mentioned that it occurs when the year, month and base are equal to #6 x 3; in my opinion, I take it that it does not appear all the time. As due to time dimensions, especially the month can change and for the year, a year passes so fast. Thus time dimensions need to be taken into consideration, here. Another view point is that in other sectors; without the #5, but if there was the #9 e.g. As the water or mountain star, such combinations of #6 will instead kill or neutralize a good star number.

Two " Fu Dogs " are normally placed on top of the pillars of the entrance gate more for `luck' and to guard the house. It is still advisable to use other Feng Shui cures e.g. using a semi-circle carpet or pakua or even changing the direction of the door (for those who want to). Fu Dogs are used to `guard' the house and thus not really `cure' adverse sha.

These are some things to keep in mind: 1. It’s best to start with a proper, systematic assessment, like doing a “scientific triage.” 1.1. What you shared is based purely on Shapes and Forms Feng Shui. To apply this correctly, it really helps if the evaluator can be on-site to study the environment. If that’s not possible, clear photos are very useful, as a picture can often say a thousand words. 1.2. This is because, unlike a lay person’s understanding, the wall at the front entrance that you described may not actually be considered the true “frontage” in both Shapes and Forms and Flying Stars Feng Shui. 1.2.1. This is especially so if the house opens …

Dear Joe, In tradtional Feng Shui, here are the points related to the stove:- 1. The Kitchen is an important component of ahouse as this is where food is being prepared. It will help to ensure good health for the family. 2. The emphasis here is on the position of the stove. In anicient China, building a stove was a very grand affair where an auspcious date and time. This includes the position of the stove. 3. In traditional Feng Shui, preferably, the position of the stove should compliment the spouse (wife). Ideally, it should be placed at one of her inauspicious location but facing the auspicious direction. 4. One " hidden area " to check is to see that water pipes do no…

Yes, for practical reasons, the clue here is "my resale flat will only be available in Aug 09":- Under the following conditions:- 1. If possible an chuang should only be done once. Thus if you had an chuang in a "previous" home e.g. currently staying with parents or rental, then should not be done at your "new" resale flat, again. 2. If already, pregnant or has had a child with (the same husband). Generally, there are the two considerations.

Dear Elena, Yes, it is very common for people to ask for their immediate office to be Feng Shui-ed. Most of the time if it is the CEO or a manager, they do have a room to themselves. Here, if it is the case, this would be `easy.' Most important thing to remember is to use the Shapes and Form School. Even if it is an individual table, one should always consider using Shapes and Form. Here, for the Manager's room, make sure that his back is facing a wall or never have the door opened to his back. He/She should also have the desk supported on one side of the wall. Next watch for poison arrows and overhead beams. Considerations such as this are the most important. Next, you …

In general, if a road curves into a stack (within a block of flats); often the lower unit(s) especially 1st or 2nd storey may be affected by sha qi. Depending on the type of curve and how fast cars "flows" or moves at that spot. In addition, it also depends on the country. Some countries are R-hand drive. In this photo; the yellow lines shows the movement direction of the vehicles. (A R-hand drive country like SGP).

Dear Angelica, 1. Usually, such bad luck or misfortune arises from the Feng Shui of the previous owner's house. Especially if the house has a missing corner at the North sector of their exisiting home. Or where at a specific situation when the accident of the son could be due to the concentration of Flying Stars #5 x 2 or more either in the 20 year or yearly or even monthly charts. 2. In my opinion, the bad luck most likely will not be passed on. However, since you intend to go into business; it would be prudent to look at the Flying Stars of this shop space for your restaurant. With regards to any sectors that may have too yin a sectors. And if so, it should be cured. …
