different directions
Dear Anon, Anonymous wrote: Hello. My boyfriend and I just moved into a new apartment. We are both two different directions. I am west and he is east. How can we decorate so that we live harmoniously? This is a very common and quite easy to solve by applying the give and take approach. 1) The house should most importantly be suitable to the breadwinner of the family since he/she earn most to support the family. So the breadwinner must get the best facing so as to get the most luck. 2) Since the breadwinner has luck for the house, therefore he/she can take a less suitable bedroom and make sure the spouse is can draw luck from the room. Since the two person are opposite, therefore, the house direction is likely not to suit the spouse, so letting the spouse take a more suitable bedroom will compensate her luck. 3) Since the spouse now get a good suitable bedroom, you can then give a better sleeping position for the breadwinner. 4) Although both charts are opposite, if possible try to avoid having the either person have the facing or bedroom fall under the death or disaster sector if possible. So if you follow the above, the breadwinner will at least be ableto get luck from the house facing, while the spouse get luck from the room she stays in. Anonymous wrote: Also, is it bad to have our bed up against a window? We do have a solid headboard, but I wasn't sure if this was bad. Our bed is also directly across from the bathroom door, where the door swings open onto the bed? Is this bad? How can we set up the bedroom to be good for the both of us? Generally, you want to make sure the bed is anchored to a solid wall without any windows. So yes, the current bed position where you have it up against a window isn't the most ideal position. As for the bed directly across the bathroom door, this is quite common as most bedroom are quite small now-a-days, so often irregardless of how you place the bed, the bathroom door will still open up onto the bed. However, if it opens at the side of the bed, it will be better than opening directly in the front of the bed. Anyway, just keeping the door close, should be a good fit if you are not able to position it any otherway. It is hard to advice you on the best placement unless you provide a quick sketch of your bedroom. But the general guideline should be:- 1. The shapes and form placement of the bed where you should be able to see the bedroom door when you sleep or lie on the bed. 2. The bed should not be placed where when you open the door you see the bed directly in front of you. Else it is like you are sleeping in a coffin position. 3. The bed should be anchored to a solid wall (ie no window behind it) These are usually the key rules. The rest really depends on the how the bedroom is laid out. Hope that helps. Strong Water
Dear Himai, Himai G wrote: I am a strong water person with wood influence. for control, i know i should use more 'earth' and 'wood' colors, items etc... what would help me for wealth? For a strong water person, fire element is your wealth element. So when you have sufficient balance of earth and wood element to balance your chart, then you want to have more fire element. Since five element can always be found around you, ie your home, your career, your colour, people around you. You can choose any area in your life to have some fire. ie say the colour of your car you can choose to have fire element. Or choose a career in sales/marketing which is fire element. You can refer to this link for some idea on the five element and characteristics:- URL: http://talk.geomancy.net Hope that helps. can't make the difference
Dear Vicky, vicky conjamalay wrote: Hello Sir, i'm not being able to make the difference between the individual element and the guardian element of a person. Could you please clarify me on this? Actually, tomake iteasy to understand justfollow this:- Individual Elementis basically the type of element youare classified under. ie if you are a weak water, therefore your individual/personal element is weak water. Guardian Element (usually yong-shen/useful/helpful/favourable element) usually means the element that is will bring you luck or help you. So if you are a weak waer, therefore metal or water element are generally your favourable element. The element you lack more of will usualy be the most favourable element and therefore considered the element that you need most. For eample if you are a weak water, but you have 0% metal and 15% water. So your Metal element is the element you need more of. So this becomes your most useful element. So often the element you need most is classified as the most important/useful/favourable element for you. Basically, don't get confused with the many terms used by different masters/website. In general, guardian element simply means the most favourable element that will help you. Hope that helps. Warmest Regards Robert Lee GEOMANCY.NET - Center for Applied Feng Shui Research

Door to Door and Pertruding Wall
Dear Andy, Andy Dai wrote: I have purchase the 101 tips on fengshui and it brought to me that, having 2 bedroom's door face to face will create conflict. Both mine and my sis's door happen to be face to face, is there anycure or solution to reduce this beside keeping door closed. Usually for this, you can dot a red dot on the door handle, so that it represents seeing eye to eye. Andy Dai wrote: At the same time, i realised that 3 sides of my bedroom walls have pertruding wall. I have drawn a sketch of the wall. (Sorry for the un professional drawing) and i believe these pertruding walls will createSha Qi, and will be bad for me as i spend most of my time in my bedroom. Please kindly advise me onneurtralising these Sha Qi. Yes, any sharp visiable corner will pose as a sha qi. The best way to correct it is usually either to build a false ceiling to cover the sha qi, or to put ceilingcornice which helps to round any sharp corner. Hope that helps. My house is been in the market for almost a year.
Dear Anon, Anonymous wrote: Last year it was seller's market. We got an offer last year, the first day we had an open housebutthe buyers back outand held usupfor almost 30 days.Until the market slows down. Now it's buyers market and real estate slows down. We lowered our price 4 times now, and my house is now below market value, butwe still don't know what else we need to do. Our house is almost empty except for bedrooms (we still live in it). We tried to make sure it's always clean so we can show it anytime. I am becoming desperate. Please let me know what we should do to sell my house soon hoping not to reach the anniversary month (August).Your advice is greatly appreciated. Thank you in advance. Feng Shui is not a miracle cure to all sorts of problems. There is very little that feng shui can help in speeding up the sale of a house except for:- i) Improving your personal luck, this may help to boost your luck so that more potential buyers come to view the house. ie know what is your personal element/colour, wearing more of your favourable colour or having more element in as many area of your life will help to boost your luck:- URL: http://www.geomancy.net/reports/free-report/freerpt-element.htm URL: http://talk.geomancy.net ii) If the house really have good feng shui, then you can use that to help promote. But even on this aspect, if the house really have bad feng shui features it can make it even harder for you to sell it. Thus, it is a double edge feature. That is about all that you can use feng shui to help especially for selling a house. The rest of the factors that determine how fast will the house sell depends a lot on:- i) Location of the house. Most buyers are very choosy about the location such as whether the location has good transport/schools/facilities etc. If there are, make sure you use them to help you sell it. That is why, we also keep mentioning that a auspicious feng shuihouse also depends alot about the location. In fact, the three most important factor that makes a house good are: 1) location, 2) location and 3) also location. Most of a time when a house isn't easy to sell it has to do with the location unfortunately. ii) The price of the house. I mean with so many new houses/condo/hdb for sale now-a-days, if the price is too high, even with the best location/features, it will also impact your chances for the sale. Even if your price is low, but most people will consider should they buy a new or old house. And if price difference isn't too great, most will opt for new home. That is why, it is not easy tosell even if it is price low. iii) The agent's contact and skills. I mean hiring a good agent that has the contacts for potential buyer and a good sales record is important. So where location or price are a problem, then you really need a good agent to help you on this. Nothing else is really going to help you make a sale. As far as feng shui, it will also have very little impact to influencing the sale of the house. Warmest Regards Robert Lee GEOMANCY.NET - Center for Applied Feng Shui Research

Double wedding in a family within a year
Dear Anon, Anonymous wrote: I would need your advice if it is fine for a family to hold 2 customary Chinese weddings in a year. Prison Officer's Element
Dear Andy, Andy Dai wrote: Thank you for your helpful advices. If possible, can you help me to open up my option for jobs by given me a few examples of different type of jobs for both water and wood elements respectively? Please visit this link for a guide to five element and different career:- URL: http://talk.geomancy.net Andy Dai wrote: At the same time, would like to have your advice on my bed positioning. I have attach a simple drawing of my room's layout. Sorry abt the quality and proportion of my sorry. I am having problem on where i should place my bed. I believe that the better one will be facing West, but that direction belongs to my "spook" and my wife's "disaster" direction. In the feng shui, we must follow a few priority and ranking:- 1. The house must be suitable the breadwinner since he provides for the family. This means that even if the house is unsuitable for the rest of the family, it is less important. However, if possible should ensure that the spouse of the breadwinner does not fall under death of disaster sector as wel. 2. The sector of where the room falls under. For example, if thisroom falls under the west side of the house then it will also fall under your favourable bedroom sector. This is often more important than the position of your bed. 3. The next is the placement of the bed based on the shapes and form. The current bed placement is bad in the shapes and form principle that when you open the door the first thing you see is the bed and your head. ie like sha qi cutting your head. So the better shapes and form placement is the bed on the west side which you will be on a defence position. ie you can see the door from where you lie. This is most ideal shapes and form position which should be given priority when compared to the eight house suitability. 4. Lastly, is out of the various shapes and form placment location, if you can find one which is best suited to you, that would be the most preferred. If not you can later on enhance the room with favourable colours to offset the suitability, or at least choose who should sleep on which side of the bed. So just choose the side of the bed which falls closer to your favourable sector. So if you based on my above rules, you should be better off if the bed is shifted to the west where it will be favourable to you although it is less favourable to your wife. Then choose the side of the bed which is closer to her favourable sector. And lastly, improve the room by choosing favourable element/colours that will boost both person luck or at least more to your wife luck so as to offset this disaster direction. Hope that helps. Questions on Paid reports
Dear Edwin, edwin tay wrote: from my bazi overview summary, it says that my favorable career are from wood and water, but from my bazi-career page, it says my wealth career is earth while power career is metal. There are 3 types of career classification. 1. Career with Wealth 2. Career with Power and Authority 3.Suitable Career based on your favourable elements. Career with Wealth/Power and Authority isn't always favourable to everyone, especially for weak element person as their element not strong enough to control the wealth. It does not mean that you cannot venture into these career, just that in order to do so you need first strengthen your weak element. Often you will find that career element favouring you will be more suitable. Thus, in your case wood and water will benefit you more. Strong element person on the other hand often have an advantage of being able to handle such career without little of much effort. Thus, they will be able to choose from Career with Wealth and Career with Power and Authority. So in the career page, it will still show you the career with wealth/power and authority. You can still venture into these career, but you still need to strengthen your weak element first. ie have a house that is favourable to you to boost your weak element, then you can at least be stronger to attempt to control your wealth. Strong Metal and Fire Element
Dear Andy, Andy Dai wrote: I am a Strong Metal Person. Can you kindly explain to me why is fire element favorable to me? A Strong Metal simply means that you already have too much of Metal and Earth. So having anymore of Metal and Earth will actually make you too strong or out of balance. Water is the most favourable for Strong Metal since water helps to exhaust the excess Metal. Fire destroy Metal so it helps to reduce the excess Metal to keep you in check. Wood is also another favourable element because it destroy excess Earth for a Strong Metal person while at the same time being wealth element to a Strong Metal. So to a Strong Metal person Fire is good for him. Hope that helps. Warmest Regards Robert Lee GEOMANCY.NET - Center for Applied Feng Shui Research

Strong Water or Weak Water

This means that if the free report has assesed you to be a Strong yang water. That means you are a Strong yang water. URL: http://www.geomancy.net/reports/free-report/freerpt-element.htm There is a lot more to the assessment of weakor strong then just based on the basic chart. So a lot of details and calculation needs to be done to asses if you are classified as a weak or strong person. In the free report we just do not show you all these information but the details are still calculated and thus if it shows you are a Strong Water, you are a Strong Water. Here is a portion ofthefive element summary from the paid report to show you why:- Element Strength Percentage 3 Water Strong 38 % 3 Wood Extremely Weak 9 % 4 Fire Weakest 25 % 1 Earth Weak 9 % 1 Metal Strongest 16 % You are a Strong Water simply because your overall percentage after considering the season strength, the combinations and clashes, the various final element, and the number of elements. As long as your favourable elements Metal and Water is more than your Fire and Earth, you will be deemed a Strong Water:- ie.Favourable: 16% Metal + 38% Water = 54% ie. Unfavourable: 25% Fire + 9% Earth = 34% That is why you are deemed a Strong Yang Water and not a weak Water. Warmest Regards Robert Lee GEOMANCY.NET - Center for Applied Feng Shui Research

6&7 star cross Disaster
Dear Amy, Amy Belisle wrote: [6] & [7] - Disaster. When Star 6 and Star 7 cross path, Co-operation is not good. Possible breaking of partnership, Own department rebellion, lawsuits, Male and Female do not get along. Female more aggressive. Period 7 will mean injuries to hands and legs. What would be a fix for this? Yikes, everything is working against. Thank you for any advice. I presume, the 6 & 7 number is the house number luck. If so, it just means the house isn't that favourable to you. It will not have as great an impact unless it is refering to the flying stars of the sector. But this does show that this house is not as favourable to you. However, the main problem is more that the house is considrered your disaster if I get it right from your posting subject. This is usually what is causing very bad luck from the staying in the house. The house number will have lesser impact. For house suitability, this is very hard to correct unless to move out to a more suitable home. You can only attempt to fix up other inauspicious sector or problems that you can correct. ie Fixing the leaks in your home. If you can do so, you will minimise the overall inauspicious aspect. However, it will not significantly give you a QUANTUM LEAP in feng shui. That can only be done my moving to a more suitable house. So only advise I can have for you is find out what are the other correctable problems and correct them. Then find what are the auspicious stars in your home to activate them. If you can do so you can then hope to reduce as much inauspicious influence against you. Hope that helps. Warmest Regards Robert Lee GEOMANCY.NET - Center for Applied Feng Shui Research

House direction selection woes
Dear Anon, Quote: currently my fiance and myself are looking for a house that is scheduled to be completed ahead of schedule in end 2006. My hubby to be kua is 4. Strong fire Mine is 2. Strong fire Seems like what's good for me is bad for him and vice versa. I understand thatthe maleshould draw the luck from the house. Which direction should the master bedroom be in? Hope todraw luck from the room if possible. Believe bed orientation is a headache too...haiz.... This is a very common issue that most people face. So most will apply the give and take approach:- 1. The breadwinner must be given the best house suitability. While if possible the house facing should not fall under the spouse Death or Disaster sector. It is ok if the house facing is Irritation or Spook, since the two person are opposite, there will never be a direction that will be suitable to both. Even if the spouse is Death or Disaster, then the bedroom for the spouse must be very good to compensate for this. 2. The spouse should then be given a more suitable bedroom sector, since the husband has already got luck from a suitable house facing. Of course, if possible, avoid the Death or Disaster sector for the breadwinner. 3. As for the bed position, you just need to choose who should be better to sleep on which side of the bed. Often, if say you have given the best bedroom to the spouse, then give a better sleeping position to the breadwinner. So in this case, the breadwinner will get a suitable house facing, and a good bed position, while the spouse get luck from a suitable bedroom. 4. The rest of the family need not have the house suitable to them based on the facing of the house. But rather, they should have a suitable bedrom sector for them. If you can follow the above advise, then it should be easy for you to narrow it down. Quote: a) Give his career more priority = get house facing his Prosperity but my Death direction or? This means this isn't the most ideal house. As there will definately be a house that is good for your husband (asthere is a4 good directions)but fall under the spook or irritation for yourself. It does not have to be excellent or prosperity only. Although, that would be ideal. If this is the only choice, then you must ensure that your bedroom falls under your 4 good directions. Quote: b) Eliminate Death and Disaster direction from both our direction to select the house? This is ideal if possible then you can work on activating the interior. The reason for this is a suitable house will mean you will gain as much luck from the house compared to an unsuitable house. But often we also try to factorin the luck of the house for example in a period 8 house you should be looking for an NE/SW facing house if happen these fall under your favourable direction. This is because these two house luck have the best feng shui luck so this can sometimes be significantly better if you suit it. Determining direction of apartment door facing
Dear Jason, Quote: Quote: Master Cecil Lee ever said : 1. Apartment (2nd-7th level), main door facing direction. 2. Apartment (8th level and up), living room/balcony is the facing direction. 3. Landed property, facing of the frontage of the house. And I guess in order to get the correct compass reading FOR the Balcony, stand in the center of the Balcony like the Floor Plan.jpg attach together I really could not see the attached file you had attempted to send. As NNTP does not accept attachment postingsif I remember correctly. Any attachment is usually removed. You see the problem here is that flying star can be applied in may different types of frontage and for different purpose. If you plan to apply the direction based on the center of the house, you will be considered applying the flying star concept which is constraint to only your own four walls. The above method that Cecil mentioned is to determine the frontage. When you apply the flying star based on such frontage you will actually be allowing your flying star to extend beyond the 4 walls. So when you take the point 2 for example, Apartment (8th level and up), living room or balcony will be assessed by standing in the living room and balcony looking outwards. Just like in the Apartment (2nd level-7th level), you take the reading of the door facing. These are taking frontage, as such you do not apply the centerpoint concept. Hope that helps. 2006 Flying Star & House Flying Star confusion
Dear Anon, Anonymous wrote: I read this article which detailed out Flying Star nos. for year 2006 (fire dog year) - as in #8 (N), #3(centre) and so on. It went on to caution against the SE & S sectors and advised general cures for all directions, e.g. avoid red in SE, avoid metal in NW. You should always remember, any yearly analysis without considering the full flying star of the house should be treated as general advise only. As how good or bad depends on the stars interacting with the actual flying star of the house. Anonymous wrote: My question is - would not the above yearly FS nos. clash with the house period Flying stars as well as the monthly nos.? Which nos. would be more accurate? Like I mentioned above, you need to assess the full flying star stars in the sector as a whole. ie the 20-year stars (mountain/water/base star), followed by the yearly star to the 20-year star, and the monthly star to the yearly star. Usually in this order of importance. The 20-year star is usually the main stars that you need to focus and correct, because the yearly star will only impact the current year, while the monthly star will only impact the current month. Most people will go as far as yearly at most. There is really no which is more accurate, but how the stars interact with each other. For example, say yearly star 5 is bad on its own, but if it enters into a sector that has lots of Metal star 6/7 it may help to reduce the impact of this star 5 as opposed to entering a sector that has star 2/5 which will make the sector even less auspicious this year. Anonymous wrote: My question is - Also, should not the stress be more on not disturbing the Grand Duke & sector opposite him, rather than shifting around ducks, metal bowls & colours? Actually, the yearly star most important is to note where is the grand duke for the year and avoid disturbing that sector by not having any major renovations in that sector. And you are right, there is really no special feng shui items or products that you really need to move or shift around. The most important in feng shui is the placement and colour scheme for the choosen room. Anonymous wrote: My question is - Also, what about personal bazi element and house group directions when applying Flying Star? They are different purpose. ie a good flying star only tells you how good the feng shui luck for the house. the personal ba zi element is about what element you belong to and what colours, directionor how your luck will be for the year. You will need to fix up the sectors if it is unbalance, but at the same time you also need to balance your own suitability to the bedroom/house based on your eight house / ba zi by choosing the a house that fit you and the right colour scheme etc. Anonymous wrote: I know that's many qts. about the Flying Star, but I did not know there can bea year FS too &did not find any reference abouthow all the various Flying stars, etc. impact on each other - so would be grateful if you would clarify. Frankly, this is a complicated subject that is not easy to explain just via a simple post. That is why there are professional who just take up this course for understanding how to evaluate the house. It is best that if you do not know how it works, best you seek professional help on assessing the house for you. This way you will not make any errors. Anonymous wrote: One more question - there are 6 large trees on the SE, just outside the compoundof the bldg. I stay in, which are going to be trimmed & this cannot be avoided. Any general protection that needs to be applied/is possible? Usually, these are considered external factors, you will have little control over your external environment. So more important you should focus on areas you can correct or fix within your own home. Thus, balancing the sector with the right colour and luck will ensure that any changes in the external factors will have minimium impact to your luck. Altar should not be directlyfacing the main door, is like employing the deity to be a security guard. Altar should not be placed looking into the bedroom. Altar should be atthe wall located just at behind the toilet Altar should not be placed looking atthe dining table There is really nothing much else you can do except to either relocate the bed position or the altar position to another more suitable location that does not fall under the above. Wealth corner
Dear Anon, Anonymous wrote: How do we determine the wealth corner of a house and then to enhance the wealth luck? The wealth in every house is always different and is always changing depending on the time period. The only way to determine where is wealth is to use the Flying Star analysis. Identify where is the auspicious water and mountain star. Then activate the sectors accordingly. ie if this is a period 8 house, then star 8 in the water star position determines your current water wealth luck location. So this is the best position to activate water wealth luck by some water feature for example. However, when you use it to play music than the action is Water because it produces music. There isn't a real auspicious or specific feng shui location for piano location. Dear Andy, Andy Dai wrote: Please advice me on which of the 5 element does Prison Officer belong to? Prison Officer is in general still law enforcement area so in general it is Fire element. But the role of a prison office is to enforce ensure that offenders are kept in check and attempting to make them realise they are wrong which is human relationship. So it has mixed Fire and Earth elements. So I would classing Prison Office as Fire-Earth. More fire with some Earth element. Hope that helps. house element
Dear Shawn, SHAWN HO wrote: Hi, from your many replies, I come to understand thatelement of the house is based on the facing direction of that house. I am rather confused as the sitting of the house will determine the house kua and thus its element as we applythe Eight House Mansion Theory. Actually, we always determine the direction of the house from the facing direction of the house. Even when we apply our eight house what we often focus on is the facing direction rather than the sitting direction. This is because, to be practical, the sitting direction is often not very practical. This is because if you really want to apply the sitting direction, then you do it based on the location of you home. For example, if you are a weak wood person, water element is good for you, so a good location where your house should be located within Singapore would the Northern part of Singapore ie say in Yishun/Sembawang area. This is more practical and accurate than basing on the eight house which only based on your year of birth. However, even with this, the shapes and form factor will still be the ultimate determining factor. For example, in Singapore the better locations for homes tend to be in like Marine Parade and Bukit Timah, etc? This is because if based on the landscape of Singapore, these locations have good Dragon Qi. So by staying in such location, your luck will be boosted by these external shapes and form Qi. I am aware that there is some website that follow this principle if North is good for you, you should be sitting North and facing South. However, the most important is where the Qi enters into the house. So our definition and what most other FS masters agree is the house should face the good direction so that the Qi entering in the house comes from the Good direction ie. If house faces North, and North is excellent, your excellent Qi will be entering into the house from the North. This is far more practical than having to sit at your good sector and facing the bad direction. So as far as our website is concerned, we are interested in where the Qi enters into the house. Meaning if we say facing North we want the good Qi from the North to enter into the house from the North. And apply the best location based on your eight house element on which part of the country would you get the best amount of luck. What is important for us is to face the good direction and have the Qi enter into the house from these good direction. The location factors (ie stting position), is better to get a good location or a location favourable to your element. These are what determines good location and not really the sitting position. Hope that helps. Warmest Regards Robert Lee GEOMANCY.NET - Center for Applied Feng Shui Research
