new paint for the building of my business
Dear Hoa Luong, Hoa Luong wrote: My building is made of metal (NOT concrete or wood or brick, just all metal). The top facia of my building has three panels. I'm thinking about painting the top panel red (fire), the middle panel white (metal), the last panel red (fire). The building will be painted beige (earth). My reason for these colors is that fire produces earth, which produces metal, which is burnt by fire to create wealth. Is my reasoning correct? Please advice. This sounds about right. Confused about finding main door direction
Robert Lee replied to myfs_112896's topic in 4 Good-Bad Directions/Eight House Suitability (Zai Yun)Dear Ester, Anonymous wrote: I am west person and my my home door is in west. When i enter into house then i am facing east ( death line is in east). Please be advised, that East person does not necessary mean that your best direction is East. Nor does West person mean that your best direction is West. East/West house are two grouping that is used to describe this theory or concept. An East house person means that most of the good sectors fall in the East side (most of the time), while a West house person means that most of the good direction falls on the West side. So more accurately, when you want to see if a house is suitable or not, you simply check if the direction falls in one of your 4 good sectors or not (ie Excellent, Prosperity, Health, Longevity). As long as it does, then it is considered a suitable house for you. Since your door is in the west side of the house, it is considered a West house. Anonymous wrote: I read that entrance and death line should follow in same direction not opposite? Can this mean that my home door is in wrong place? Where would be good location for a door? For whether a house is suitable or not, all you need to ensure is that main door does not fall in the East sector of your home which you mentioned is Death. Also, your bedroom should not be the East sector. And if possible when you work / sleep try to avoid pointing East. Otherwise, it is fine. That is actually all you need to be considered with. So far from what you have provided, it seems ok a suitable house for you so far. Hope that helps. Warmest Regards Robert Lee GEOMANCY.NET - Center for Applied Feng Shui Research

Facing Direction
Hi Anon, Anonymous wrote: I am absolutely new to Feng Shui. In an effort to find out why my house "doesn't feel right", before I paint this place for the sixth time in seven years, I have started to study, and study, and study. This web site has been very helpful in getting me started in what I believe to be the right direction. One thing that you know in Feng Shui, that you must feel comfortable in the place you live in. There shouldn't be a need to keep re-painting the home just because you think it is unsuitable. Colours are just one aspect of feng shui sometimes you should check if there are other flaws, ie sharp corners cutting your usual work or sleep area for example. Anonymous wrote: When I look forward out of my front door (the door most frequently used by myself), the direction I face is south 190 degrees - a quiet street. When I face out my back door where I spend a great deal of time, the direction I face is 20 degrees north - toward a 6 foot fence separating my back yard from a very high-traffic street which is a constant source of annoying yang-noise). I presume from what you have described, you stay in a landed property. So you should be taking your frontage from the main entrance of your home (ie usually will be where you drive in if you had the gate). That will be considered the frontage. I think if I picture your description right, it should be your front door. That would more likely be your facing direction of the house. Anonymous wrote: Is the noisy north back considered Facing? From what you described, this does not seem like your frontage. If you have a simple sketch of your home including the drive way in, I can better advise you which is the proper frontage. Feng Shui-ing Neighbors
Hi Amatuer Cat, Amatuer Cat wrote: I have nasty, nasty neighbors living in the apartment below me, So I am using tiny mirrors and tin-foil under my area rugs to reflect their energy back to them. They consider me to be negative energy to them, andam afraid if they are practicing feng shui too, what happens if they are doingsomething similar, like using mirrors to reflect my energy back to me? Does this cancel it out? Frankly, a lot of feng shui practises that advise the use of ba gua or mirror against say another neighbour isn't usually friendly application of Feng Shui. Why do I say that? Simple. If you do that, your neighbours will have no choice but to do the same just to bounce the Negative Sha Qi back. And when they do that, you will have to think of something to counter it back again. So the cycle will be endless. And each enhancement will cancel it out. Instead of creating a nice environment, it will tend to create conflicts. I find that in such a situation neither person will truly benefit. So the answer to your question is yes. Doing that will simply cancel the effect out eventually. Sometimes I feel it is better just to be friendly with the neighbour and avoid having such items placed to aggrevate the situation.Sometimes just talking nicely to the neighbour and working out a solution that will benefit both might be better than starting an feng shui war. Afterall, feng shui is about creating harmony. Hope that helps. Warmest Regards Robert Lee GEOMANCY.NET - Center for Applied Feng Shui Research

Black Stream
Hi Anon, Anonymous wrote: From the research I have done it seems I may have what is called a 'black stream' flowing under my propery/home. How do i balance this. Frankly, these probably has to do with the way underground water has over your home. Similiar to this link:- URL: http://www.geomancy.net/resources/art/art-under.htm The only true way to not be influenced by it, is frankly to move out to a better location without this issue. Because, if not if you continue to live in such a homes, health will be affected in a matter of time. Any solutions/items if any will only be slowing down the influence, not completely removing the negative influence from such a problem. These are not true solutions for such a homes. They can maybe only help reduce some of the negative influence but not completely eliminate it. Some items that may help would be like those Plasma Air Cleaner which can help to reduce firstly bacteria etc. Since some of these underground water, tends to make like food spoil faster etc, thus such products which help slow down the bacteria may offer some help. However, in the long run, my advise is to move out to a better location. That will be the only true way to solve this issue completely. Hope that helps. Need advise on selling 2 properties
Hi Christine, christine palmer wrote: I have been trying to sell 2 out of state properties. will either sell in the next 30 or so days? Or any advice on how to sell them? You should understand that Feng Shui by no means a miracle cure for all problems. In terms of selling property, probably some of these practical points will help you more:- 1. Ensuring the place you are selling looks clean. Or give it a fresh coat of paint to make it look new. 2. Make use of the strengths of a building to sell it (ie located near like public transport - trains, convienent location, near schools etc). 3. Get a good property agent who has lots of contacts can improve the sales. Otherwise, in terms of feng shui, you can only look at auspicious dates, or if the house has good Feng Shui advantage let the clients know. It can help influence his decisions. Hope that helps. AIR-BASE

From what I can tell if the landing air strip points to your home, then yes, this might be considered a posion arrow. If not, it depends on the building, whether there is any corners pointing or cutting into your home. The main thing with air base is often the sound pollution if any. Just like sun light which is considered a sha qi because of the heat, sound if equally noisy can also be equally distractive for people staying there. Probably practical enhancements is sound proofing the rooms etc. james koh wrote: Can I hanga convex round mirror instead of Ba Kua Mirror at my window to ward off this poison arrow? I am personally did not come across any material about this special clothings. Probably there might be. As you know even for Chinese, there are so many dialect groups, each with their own traditions and beliefs. I think since your sister-in-law is so certain, no harm to follow it. Bad Locations Advice
Dear Francis, francis wan wrote: Hello , need your advice if we sleep facing a bathroom door or TV directly and also underneath a beam or a pictureis bad for our fengshui ? Facing a bedroom door is quite common in most house layout nowadays due to space constraint. Generally, nothing much you can do here except to ensure that it kept closed when not in use. As for facing the TV, this isn't an issue. The idea behind this is TV screen tends to be reflective as such it resembles a mirror. It is said that when you sleep, your spirit wonders out, so when it sees the TV screen it gets a shock. But if you think about it, those who like tolook at the mirror comb the hair and them move on will like it. So it is very much a tolerance level of a person. Furthermore, with flat screen LCD TV there are hardly any reflection so not a big issue. Yes, for sleeping under the beam it is not so good. Best way to have a false ceiling to cover the beam or get a canopy type bed to block the beam when you sleep. francis wan wrote: Next , we have a mirror facing our main door from opposite windows , can we do the same to deflect it ? Yes, you can do so. francis wan wrote: My lucky direction is KUA 2 , western side .. this mean my head should pointing to this direction ? My door should be SW direction If you are placing crsytals as decorative items, there should not be an issue as usually such items are good decorative items. Enhancer for Weak Wood
Dear Edwin, edwin tay wrote: How does one who belongs to weak wood enhances his luck, wealth, fortune and health? How does crystals help to improve ones fengshui, especially for a weak wood. A weak wood generally favours water and wood, so having more favourable elements in your life will improve your luck. Crystals depends on what kind of crystal can be classified differently into different elements. Most of time it is closer to Metal/Water depends on the particular time of crystal. However, remember that true feng shui does is not dependen on any particular item. But rather it is dependant on creating a harmonious environment. The best way to enhance the element, is by taking note of what elements you should have more, and have them in as many parts of your life as possible:- ie. House - North = Water element ie. Career - Wood = Healthcare for example. ie. Colours - Water (blue/black/gray), Wood (green/brown) The more areas in your life that is suitable for you, the better your luck will be. Hope that helps.

help with relationship
Hi Anon, Anonymous wrote: I would like some advice please on whether placing photographs of my daughter and her partner in the relationship corners of my rooms will help them heal a rift in their relationship . I have placed a photograph of them in happy times in the relationship corner of her bedroom, in the sitting room and my office, one photograph i have placed inside a red cd casing. (this one shows them kissing). The hardest area for any third party to help resolve is relationship issues. Frankly, you can only do so much as to create opportunities for the two person to talk it out. Anything, that can help to remind them of the good/memorable times they had together can help. But ultimately, they will have to work out the difference themselves in order to settle their conflicts. There isn't going to be any so call feng shui items that can be place to mircle improve their relationship. The only thing can can help to so call create harmony is by finding what elements will work together to help reduce friction. So in terms of feng shui, you can check out the elements of the couple and try to have more of the common elements to help reduce fiction. ie weak water, strong metal can have water element help reduce friction. Big Tree Facing Front Door
Dear Than Huynh, Thanh Huynh wrote: My front door is facing directly a big beautyful oak tree. I know this bad in feng shui. Is there a way to fix this or cut down the tree is the only option? There are someof the common way tocorrect this. 1. Is to place two pot of plants at the side of the main door (one on the right side the other on the left side). The reason for this, is the two plants together with the oak tree will form a triangle which points outwards of your home. Thus, creating Sha Qi pointing out of the house. Or twoLions (Qi Lin) can also be used. 2. The other way is to have a row of plant between the oak and your main door. This will act as a shield or like a fence against the lone oak tree against cutting into your home. Hope that helps. Warmest Regards Robert Lee GEOMANCY.NET - Center for Applied Feng Shui Research.

House layout

Unfortunately, each house is unique as such there will not be a single perfect template that you can refer to. The only way you can get a perfectly designed house is to seek a professional home consultation to help you make recommendations on your home so that it suits you and your family. Probably this would be the easiest way as you don't need to worry about the various concepts and how they should be used. If you wish to do it yourself, then you can make use of the various free tools on our website for exmaple, to check what colours to select for each room using ba zi, or where to place the bedrooms based on your eight house etc. Generally, thesearesome of the tools that most masters will use to help designthe perfect layout for your home. Advise on big beams
Hi Anon, In terms of beams, ideally it is best not to be able to see it if possible. Anonymous wrote: We have just finished building our dream house, actually its a loghouse so the problem is we have big beams over our beds and in the living room area, also we have a big log postsupporting the secondfloorareain the middle of the living room. So usually, two most efficient ways to go about it is to either have a false ceiling which will hide the beams. Or to have a bed with those canopy beds which you can place like curtain or cover on top. That should help you shield the beams from your view when you are sleeping on the bed. These two are two more practical ways rather than having to place two flutes on the beam. Anonymous wrote: And also in our bedroom we haveclosets with mirror. For this, it all depends on how comfortable are you with the mirrors. This is because generally the ideal behind this is that it is said that when we sleep our spirit will leave our bodies. So when you have a mirror, what might happen is that your spirit might get a shock when it sees itself on the mirror. However, this boils down to how tolerant you are. There are some spirits for example who will see a mirror, comb his/her hair, adjust the clothes before he/she leaves. So once you more or less understand the reason behind the inauspicious influence. You can then know how bad it really is. As long as the mirror does not bounce Qi from a window located opposite from a mirror, I think that it should not be a great deal of problem. In addition, if you feel comfortable with the mirrors, then should not be a problem at all. Hope that helps. Warmest Regards Robert Lee GEOMANCY.NET - Center for Applied Feng Shui Research

Balance of Element
Hi Edwin, edwin tay wrote: in myoverall summarreport, it said that i am water 14%, wood 7%, fire 47%, earth 28%, metal 1%.it is saidthat well balance is when a person has 20% of the each element. does it mean that i need to ehance my water, wood and metal while reducing my fire? however metal is identified to be my most unfavourable element andhence i should avoid.i'm confused. kindly advice. The thing here is that a weak person wants to be a stronger to attain harmony, while a strong person is too strong as such needs to be curbed a little. So the ultimate goal is to be a balanced person. A balanced person is defined as when you get 20% of each of the five element at a single point in time. However, it is virtually impossible to be able to assess a person's element breakdown at any time, as it is not possible for you to be able to determine say how much of an element is this house you are staying giving you. Or how much the clothes you are wearing is adding to your luck. As such, the way go about enhancing your luck is by focusing on the elements that favours you and avoiding the ones which do not favour you. In your case, a weak wood person, means that you need more Water (14%) and Wood (7%). So what this tells me is that you are a weak Wood because you lack more Wood than Water. As such, you should have more Wood elements rather than Water elements. In terms of your unfavourable, Metal (1%) and Fire (47%), means that you should avoid Fire since you already have too much of it more than Metal. Since these are generally considered your unfavourable element, you should avoid having them if possible. However, it does not mean you should avoid it completely. You need a little of each element in order to attain balance. So that means that having some Metal even though it isn't your favourable is better than having fire element which will make you too weak given that you have too much fire. So you use this as a guide to fine tuning your elements. edwin tay wrote: whathappens if my partner is a strong metal? will it add on to my metal element balance or be the most unfavourable element? what can i do about it? Yes, if your partner is Strong Metal, it does add to your metal. As mentioned, since you do lack some Metal, having some metal will be ok for you. Just do not add too much more of it then necessary. In this case, if you can have some Water this will help convert the strong Metal into Water which in turn strengthen your weak Wood. edwin tay wrote: also, what's the best way to enhance an element? Should we buy this house?
Hi Anon, Anonymous wrote: 1. The owner (an old lady) died in the house two weeks ago of natural death. Therefore the house went on sale for a lower than market price. Amazingly it doesn't bother us as much as we thought it would and when we were in the house yesterday, we felt peaceful. As you mentioned, the lady died of natural death as such should not be an issue. I mean if the lady is young and died of like accident or suicide, that would be the type of home that you should avoid. For natural death this is part of the natural cycle of life. So should not be an issue. In addition, since you mentioned you feel good, then it is your personal intuition that is telling you that it fits you. Try to bring as many family members as possible. The more people feeling good, it will normally tell you that this is a good house. Anonymous wrote: 2. The L-shape house location faces southwest, which is an excellent location for my husband. But the main door which is at the left side of the L faces southeast, which is to the Spook direction. We're not sure if we should use the house facing location or door facing location when assessing the house. This depends a lot on the type of house. It is a landed property or apartment. Landed Property, you should try to take the frontage of the entire house facing. Apartments, that are higher than 7 floors best to take the frontage from the living/balcony where most light enters. Apartments, that are lower floor take the main door entrance. I am guessing it is a House (landed property ie bungalow/terrace etc) for your case, should facing direction should be the south-west. Spook direction is still acceptable as long as it is not Death or Disaster direction. The other thing you should check is the Bedroom sector where does it fall in the house. If this is suitable, then should be of no issue. Hope that helps. Warmest Regards Robert Lee GEOMANCY.NET - Center for Applied Feng Shui Research

Trigram of a House
Robert Lee replied to myfs_112237's topic in 4 Good-Bad Directions/Eight House Suitability (Zai Yun)Hi Roeland, There are a couple of concepts in feng shui. In terms of determining house element, we use Ba Zi which is based on the direction the house faces. As such North = Water, thus the house is considered Water element. Given that Eight Trigram isn't the most accurate analysis, as it uses only the year of birth in the calculation compared to Ba Zi using Date and Time of birth, the more accurate analysis comes from the Ba Zi element. While we use Eight House as the suitability analysis only. The problem with most of the sitting and facing direction method is that it can be confusing because Luo Pan is orientated in South-North orientation, as such often you will need to rotate analysis 180 degree before it can be fully utilised. In our website, since everything is orientated North-South just as a normal compass. So we do not use Facing or Sitting direction. When you use a Luo Pan, and take a reading South (this is actually North in a normal compass). So if your direction you are taking oon the Luo Pan is North (this is actually South in an ordinary compass). Please note that difference. When you use a Luao Pan it is different from a compass. In our website, we completely use the North-South orientation as such what is North is North. This makes it easier to use our analysis compared to original Luo Pan. Thus to avoid confusion we do not use Facing or Sitting direction but rather the original direction. Hope that helps. Warmest Regards Robert Lee GEOMANCY.NET - Center for Applied Feng Shui Research

master bedroom above the kitchen
Hi Anon, Anonymous wrote: I came across one of your articles which seemed to say that it is not quite good to have a bedroom above the kitchen. I'm not sure why but my new master bedroom happens to be above the kitchen. What shall I do? Yes. The reason behind it is simple. Since the kitchen is below the bedroom, the likelyhood of a fire to start under the kitchen would be very much higher. As such becomes a pontential danger to the people sleeping above. The most simple and practical way to solve this threat is to install smoke detectors. This will at least alert you in case of such a situation. Weak Element
Dear Anon, Anonymous wrote: I am a weak water person, does it mean that I don't have the chance to get into Career with Wealth or Career with Power Authority? Does it also mean that without the above, I will not have a stable career or no promotion or can't climb up to the corporate ladder? As a weak water person, you do still have elements which represents your career with wealth or career with power and authority. However, the problem with these two exclusive career type are they belong to element which you must be able to control before you can benefit from it. ie a weak water person for example will have career with wealth as Fire element.
