New! Pillars of Destiny Comparision v0.50 beta
Dear Rose, Please read below:- -----Original Message----- From: Listmanager To: Recipients of 'free-advice' suppressed suppressed> Date: Sunday, May 30, 1999 4:16 PM Subject: New! Pillars of Destiny Comparision v0.50 beta Do you have the details of the person used for comparision, so that I can duplicate the result? I think there might be some bug with the description for this result. This five element analysis for two different pillars is very complex (close to several hundred lines of source coding for this module), I may have type in the wrong data field for used for expressing the result. Which is why the module is still in "beta". Thanks for pointing it out. Warmest Regards Robert Lee

New! Pillars of Destiny v6.50
Dear Users, We are pleased to announced that a further enhancement to the Pillars of Destiny v6.16 is now available:) Pillars of Destiny v6.50 ======================== Older version of the Pillars of Destiny has been catered more towards the practical "Feng Shui Aspects" of analysis. This new and future report aims to complete the report by providing the remaining components of the Pillars of Destiny Fortune Telling portion. 1. Symbolic Stars has been incorporated into the Pillars of Destiny Five different Stars of analysis are now available:- a. Flower of Romance - When this star is available in a particular year, and it is guided by an auspicious star, it means that you are likely to have some romance, or social gathering. This means that your chances of getting finding a suitable partner (not necessary marriage is increased) Otherwise, it means an adverse effect. That means that you may find that the romance which you meet may cause trouble for you. b. Movement Star - This means travel or change of location. If it is auspicious for you, it means that you may have say a change of job or house which is good for you. Otherwise, you it is not advisable for you to have any changes. c. Nobleman Star - If you have this star and it is auspicious for you, it normally means that you are very helpful and is always willing to help others. Otherwise, it may mean that others will take advantage of you. d. Academic Star - This stars symbolises good academic ability. Means that you are likely to be very good in any study. e. Arts - This star symbolises a good creative and artistic ability in a person. 2. Element analysis of these Symbolic Stars. Books on Flying Stars
Dear Rose, Please read below:- -----Original Message----- From: Listmanager To: Recipients of 'flying-star' suppressed suppressed> Date: Thursday, May 27, 1999 10:24 PM Subject: Flying Stars Book/Course Actually, that is one of the rule set. However, many other books like myself finds that the two stars interaction is very important. It oftens tells you the type of problem that would occur from the interactions. The two stars, one being mountain star and the other being water star, are the essence of the flying star. They are the stars which moves around creating a different influence each time they come together. That is why it is more important to look at the two stars, then relate it with the main star for (Triple Combination). This often results in the stars either neutralising each other creating a balance. However, the analysis the each star to the main star is another area of looking at the flying star, it does give another type of explanation, which I have yet to include in the current version of the Flying Star. Thus, you can see, Flying Star is a powerful theory, but there are lots to it, and it is pretty complex. Warmest Regards Robert Lee

Which is the correct cure?
Dear Rose, Please read below:- -----Original Message----- From: Listmanager To: Recipients of 'flying-star' suppressed suppressed> Date: Wednesday, May 26, 1999 3:07 PM Subject: Re: Which is the correct cure? Personally, I don't see why you should use water, I think that Metal will again be the best solution. Because both stars are inauspicious so the priority is to reduce all inauspicious influence. Where did you obtain this information? ------> Source of Info: pg 62 of Lillian Too's Flying Star Feng Shui. I believe she was concentrating on only the base 2 mountain 3 combination. Isn't thar dangerous to analyze the situation only partially? Yes, books are like that, they tend to be catered more towards explaining the analysis. It is actually, and most of the Flying Star teaching also mentions that the major influences are often the interaction between the Mountain and Water star. These two stars often changes which brings along different influences when they meet. However, the base star is still important for the explanation without the even the two stars flying star is supposed to represent the sector's general influence for the 20-year, yearly, monthly etc. When looking at Flying Star charts, it is important to see the overall interactions because, eventually what you want to know is what are the influences of the sector. Well, I am not surprised. Flying Star is indeed a very complex theory, which is why it is taking us some time to come up with the course (and maybe book) as there are many things and areas to look at. Meanings of the Base Star Numerals
Dear Rose, Please read below:- -----Original Message----- From: Listmanager To: Recipients of 'flying-star' suppressed suppressed> Date: Tuesday, May 25, 1999 2:43 PM Subject: Meanings of the Base Star Numerals The problem with this lies in the fact there is a rule set that the current period number say (7) takes preceedence in which it controls the star 7. That means that say in period 3, 3 controls star 3, therefore any inauspicious period is removed. Period 3 becomes the current prosperity. However, the rest of the stars remains unchanged. This is because, the fixed default in the San Yuan Di Li Theory (60 Cycles), states that normally for the initial part of the period period 1,2, 3, these are the growing period for the year, this means that there are often difficulties, which is why 1 is not inauspicious because its preceeding year is period 9 the future prosperity. 2, 3 are difficult periods as it is the start of a new beginning. Same goes for 3, 5, 6. However during th 6 period, the period is better, thus, when period 7,8, 9 comes in, it is where the future generation benefits from it. Thus 7, 8, 9 are normally considered as future prosperity. These are finding which I have uncovered from my research. Thus, it seems that the "basic representation" does not change. The only changes which will occur is which number is treated as the current prosperity. For say period 3 then Period 3 is current prosperity. While 7 becomes Future prosperity as deduced from the basic interpretation. So far I have yet, to see any masters mentioning that the periods shifts, as I understand that 2,3,4,5 explanation does not change, so the others should not be affected at all. Otherwise, the rule set for the Flying Star will no longer work. Warmest Regards Robert Lee

Which is the correct cure?
This is a multi-part message in MIME format. ------=_NextPart_000_0244_01BEA768.705441C0 Content-Type: text/plain; charset="iso-8859-1" Content-Transfer-Encoding: 7bit Dear Rose, Please read below:- -----Original Message----- From: Listmanager To: Recipients of 'flying-star' suppressed suppressed> Date: Tuesday, May 25, 1999 8:22 PM Subject: Which is the correct cure? Yes, we do, but even for weak wood it does help to control earth in some way. The reason for Metal is that Metal will exhaust the 2 strong Earth this weakens the (inauspicious 2 star). Then while exhausting Metal, metal gains strength from Earth, thus, it is able to destroy the weak Wood (inauspicious 4 star). So this way do you notice that Metal does two cures with one element? It draw strength from the strong Earth to destroy Wood. What so contradictory about it? Water destroy Fire, but Fire destroy Metal. It does not destroy each other. You see when say Water, Wood, Fire comes in this sequence, what happens is that a balance is nearly created. Water produce Wood - (Wood becomes stronger, Water is weaken) Wood produces Fire - (Fire becomes stronger, Wood is weaken) Fire produces Earth - (Earth becomes stronger, Fire is weaken) Do you see the sequence. Thus, when they are weaken, their destruction effect is weaken, so it will not affect the cycle instead promotes harmony. The order should go as:- 1. Mountain vs Water Star 2. Both (Mountain vs Water Star) in relation with Base Star These two combination determines the influences of the entire sector for the entire 20 year. 1. 20-year vs yearly 2. yearly vs monthly 3. monthly vs daily 4. daily vs hourly 5. hourly vs minute 6. minute vs second However, mostly for house evaluation, up to monthly is sufficient, any more is very very complex! These will help to determine during the 20-year what kind of influence has entered the sector. It can be good or can be bad. All determined by how the elements, auspicious/inauspicious, element strength interact with each other. Then applying that to the relationship objects represented by the Five Element and the Trigrams gives you the explanation. I believe you can obtain the details of the Five Elements from Cecil's Applied Feng Shui Course or the Applied Feng Shui Made Easy Book. There is a long list of relationship of Five elements, objects, human parts, etc. Warmest Regards Robert Lee ------=_NextPart_000_0244_01BEA768.705441C0--

Wealth Sector in Flying Star
Dear Rose, Please read below:- -----Original Message----- From: Listmanager To: Recipients of 'flying-star' suppressed suppressed> Date: Monday, May 24, 1999 10:38 PM Subject: Wealth Sector in Flying Star Yes, these are generally true. However, if you are talking about wealth, I find that what you should do is to enhance your personal wealth. What I find that you should do is:- weak person:- 1. Atrengthen yourself so that you are strong enough to control your wealth deities. 2. Then try work with elements which you destroy as these are your wealth element. strong person:- 1. Control yourself a little so that you do not go overboard. 2. Work with elements which you destoy as these are your wealth element. If you can do this, it will improve your wealth. This is because, only when you are strong enough (but not overly strong), can you take advantage of your wealth deities. This way, then you can take advantage of your personal wealth. Flying Star Wealth etc, creates a better harmony with your home to you. However, because for home, the wealth star is always changing about, which is why Cecil mentioned that it is very difficult to really locate the wealth star. If you can accomplish the first portion with your own personal self, the enhancements you make to your home will follow suit. Warmest Regards Robert Lee

Something in the house that can cause Depression/Confusion
Dear Marla, Please read below:- -----Original Message----- From: Listmanager To: Recipients of 'free-advice' suppressed suppressed> Date: Sunday, May 23, 1999 8:20 AM Subject: Re: Depression/Confusion According to this, am I correct to say that your head is in NE direction? Basically his Eight House seems alright. However, without the Flying Star reports, it is difficult to tell if there are any unfavourable stars such as star 2, 5 (Sickness / Misfortune Star) in that sector of your house. Or any stars which actually further strengthen or weaken your husband's elements. These influences often are the cause of any adverse effects experienced by many people. Based on his Pillars of Destiny, I recommend that if you do have any wood or water related items, please removed them, especially for his personal stuff. Suggested element is "Fire" type object. Is there any sharp objects in the room which you can visually see? If there are try to block it. Other then that, I can only help this much with the information I can gather from you. Warmest Regards Robert Lee

Activating the Mountain Stars
Dear Rose, Please read below:- So long as the backing of the Mountain Star is a solid wall, it is ok. You cannot activate the Mountain Star if there is a windows below or very near the wall which you are trying to put the obtain with mass. Nope. So long as there is a wall, because what that wall itself is like a mountain. Solid foundation. Warmest Regards Robert Lee

How does the evil star 2 and 5 affect life gua 2
For Feng Shui BALANCE is the most important. However, it is not possible to achieve TRUE balance, so at best you want some influence of each element to bring you in balance. So far, I have yet to encounter all the various combinations in real life, so unable to give you much comments here, especially relating to the 10 combination. However, in my research, I did come across many FS master providing this similar combination which produces good influences. Warmest Regards Robert Lee

How to determine the direction of the house?
Dear Chris, Common cures normally will not work. For problems and more, you need to know the Flying Star of the house, as the Eight House cannot tell you these influences. Eight House can only tell you if say you have a good or bad direction in a section. You cannot do much about them, all you can do is to avoid the bad directions. Warmest Regards Robert Lee

Flying Star Computation Method
Dear Rose, Please read below:- -----Original Message----- From: Listmanager To: Recipients of 'flying-star' suppressed suppressed> Date: Saturday, May 22, 1999 10:42 AM Subject: Re: Flying Star Computation Method So, to determine the Base Star, we only need the completion date (or last major renovation date) of the house. e.g. 1964-1983, period 6, reigning # is 6 1984-2003, period 7, reigning # is 7 Don't we have to take into consideration the period of interest? For example, for House A built in period 6, it might be an auspicious house during period 6 itself, but became inauspicious in period 7 and 8. When analysing House A for period 6, we use reigning number 6. What about analysing it for period 7 and 8? The 20-year base star will not change even if you proceed to the next period say period 7, 8 or even 9. This is the birth chart of the house. Just like your own birth chart for the Pillars of Destiny. It will remain the same so long as you do not make any major renovation to the house. The influences for the 20-year and Mountain/Water star in the main 20-year chart stay the same for the entire house so long as the house is not renovated. Which is why sometimes there is times where the house is so bad that no amounts of cure is enough to solve the situation. This is why the Flying Star is so powerful. It takes the Time of the House as well as the time which you are in. The influence of each element is similar to having a different influence of Qi present in the house. Thus, Flying Star allows a practitioner which does not have powerful intuition to be able to predict the influence of the house. This is often the same interpretation if it is done by some master who has very strong intuition. Yes, you will still take on the individual year for the analysis. This is here if you noticed in the report, there is a Yearly Flying Star, this is where the relationship between the current year is made to the 20-year (house base star). In fact there is also a monthly analysis right? However, I haven't yet put in the module to analyse the monthly star. But in any case, the interpretation is similar to that of the yearly chart, excepts that it goes deeper into detail. But for most cases, solving the 20-year and year influence is the most important. The monthly analysis just helps you to pin point the exact month which you will likely encounter the influences. That is how you analyse the yearly influence of each year. You will not analyse the details against the next 20-year of the following period. There is no need for it as it is taken care by a more detailed analysis of the yearly chart. In any case, the effects of the stars, is often enhanced by the external influence created by sha qi or even the water course shapes and forms which often enhance the bad influences of the stars. For example, if the location NW has star 5 & 2 which symbolises misfortune, and there is a road outside the house which cuts directly into that direction of your house, it creates an additional influence which strengthens the 5 & 2 making the influence of the house even more inauspicious. Many practitioner of Xuan Kong normally, takes only the calculation and provide you with the details, but in actual fact a good Xuan Kong analysis, needs the helps of many other schools such as Eight House, Shapes and forms, your personal element in order to determine if it is good or bad for you. No two stones are the same for two different person, each with its own favourable and unfavourable influence, will react differently to the stars. Warmest Regards Robert Lee

Flying Star Computation Method
Dear Rose, Sorry for the late reply, as I was busy with other projects at hand, so did not participate in the Forum as much. Please read below:- -----Original Message----- From: Listmanager To: Recipients of 'flying-star' suppressed suppressed> Date: Thursday, May 20, 1999 10:50 AM Subject: Flying Star Computation Method Actually, the back door is only needed, just for knowing if a certain location is good or bad. Remember in certain location, if it falls under a main door, or back door or room, etc? Only need to use this information when you are using the conditions for activating or knowing if it is auspicious. No need to use it in the actual calculation. Actually the correct way is:- Base Star 1. Know the competion of the date of house or last major renovated date. This information immediate helps to deduce the Period for 20-year (Reigning Number) 2. Layout the Base Star onto a 9 Grid Square or 8 Wedged Pie layout (both essentially the same). Water Star 3. Obtain the exact bearing of the Main Door, to deduce the Water Star (Facing Star). 4. Deduce the movement of the Water Star (Forward/Reverse) 5. Layout the Water Star onto a 9 Grid Square or 8 Wedged Pie layout (both essentially the same). Mountain Star 6. Opposite the Water Star direction is the Mountain Star (Sitting Star). 7. Deduce the movement of the Mountain Star (Forward/Reverse) 8. Layout the Mountain Star onto a 9 Grid Square or 8 Wedged Pie layout (both essentially the same). Warmest Regards Robert Lee

Flying Star Computation Method
Dear Rose, Sorry for the late reply, as I was busy with other projects at hand, so did not participate in the Forum as much. Please read below:- -----Original Message----- From: Listmanager To: Recipients of 'flying-star' suppressed suppressed> Date: Thursday, May 20, 1999 9:10 PM Subject: Re: Flying Star Computation Method Correct me if I am wrong: Mountain Stars are found in the sectors with mountain star numerals = 1, 6, 7 or 8 What about Water Stars? I don't see any Water Stars in my FS charts. Water Star is normally not found because, it requires open space to activate. Unlike Mountain Star, which you can activate so long it is found in a room, and there is a solid "wall" behind that location to activate it. Water star is normally activated for open area, so mostly outside or large living room. But in any case to activate it you need to maintain a fish tank or water front area. Which is simply not very practical for everyone. Warmest Regards Robert Lee

Pillar report: Other sections
Hi Everyone L and R Theory of Feng Shui, There has been some confusion on the `accuracy' of the Pillars of Destiny. Let me elaborate:- The Pillars of Destiny has a few parts:- 1. It can determine the True Element of a person e.g. Strong Fire Element. 2. You can cross reference the period in which your element. For example, in a particular period, what is the strength of the element for the period and does it have any effect on you. For example, if you are a strong wood element person, if 1999 has a season of strong fire, this is considered inauspicious. If you have a Pillars of Destiny done for you, you can then understand this and better control your `environment' i.e. further reduce your strong fire element. 3. The third part of Feng Shui is based on Fortune telling and divinity methods. Even the number of Yin and Yang in your pillars may not be true for you if you look at your own chart. Why is it that I have 6 Yin elements and 2 Yang elements yet I prefer mathematics, calculations? Here, you should be clear about one thing:- When we were born, our element and its strength will NEVER change. E.g. if you are a Strong Fire element, you are always for Feng Shui purposes, a Strong Fire element. Here you will understand why we always use the above for Feng Shui to analyse your element and its strength in relation to your individual, home, office etc... However, why is it that I have 6 Yin and 2 yang but love maths instead? Pillars of Destiny provide us with an understanding or CAUTION that one's pillars can be changed for example through education, up-bringing, useful experience and people you contact with, Feng Shui of your physical environment etc... For example, an intelligent parent may read through certain books on how to increase their child's skills development. If the parent is able to make the learning interesting or to stiumulate the child's learning, for example, in the area of mathematics, although the child have 6 Yin and 2 Yang, this can slowly be influenced. Therefore, today, if the child has his Pillars of Destiny analysed, it beg to differ from what he is good at. I hope you will now begin to understand why when I first `experimented' with the L and R Theory, I have two parts to it. Part 1. I believe that at your age (grown up age) of at least completed your `studies' or to be precise, have gone to work, you can see if you are more inclined towards the "spatial" i.e. if you are a white collar worker I gave the earlier example that in presentations, you prefer to use where possible diagrams or illustrations or icons together with words to express yourself. A more Yang person would like to express themselves using only words. Part 2. This is where, I asked you to count how many Yin and Yang elements you have. I have earlier in my note on the L and R Theory is that I am just trying see `how true' this is. I strongly believe that this can be changed. From current feedback, I believe that this `Part 2' is not accurate based on what I mentioned earlier ie. it can be changed through a person's education and upbringing etc... But I still strongly believe that the L and R Theory holds true under " Part 1". Therefore, I apologise if it may make some of us becoming confused as to if one part of the Pillars of Destiny is " inaccurate " doubt the rest of the Pillars of Destiny. Hope you have understood what I am trying to say as most users will know Geomancy.net has always focused on the Feng Shui aspects of using Pillars of Destiny. Two areas in Pillars which normally does not change is your True Element and Luck Pillars. These are born with you and will remain as your own personal influences throughout your life. Knowing these two influence, you can apply Feng Shui to bring out the best in your life and reduce any unfavaourable influence which may have disasterous effects on you. Other Fortune Telling areas such as characteristics, wealth are just for your interest if they are added into the analysis, as these have always been what many are looking for. But these information is often no longer accurate in our modern society as the many external influences can now alter these deficiency in your birth "characteristics". Warmest Regards Cecil

How does the evil star 2 and 5 affect life gua 2
Dear Ken, Please read below:- -----Original Message----- From: Listmanager To: Recipients of 'flying-star' suppressed suppressed> Date: Saturday, May 15, 1999 1:50 PM Subject: evil star Basically, the two stars influences will not change no matter what, except when the period for the house you are evaluating is 2 or 5. These influences does not need the life gua or change with the life gua. This means that it does not mean that if your life gua is 2 or 5, it is better. Life Gua is used for determining your own Eight House Chart, in many ways these two charts are different yet, the main origin comes from its similarity with Three 20-year Periods (San Yuan) theory. Eight House uses the Life Gua to determine the EIght Directions, which is your personal chart. The proper way to relate the life gua 2 and 5 is by converting it to the Eight Directions, and then matching the door to the eight directions. Only by doing so there is then a common ground for a 8 square grid of the Eight House and a 9 square grid of the Flying Star. This way the charts can be related to each other to see if the house is suitable for you or not. You cannot use the fact that the life gua is 5 therefore your the influences in the 2 and 5 star reduced. The only influence which can affect the stars in the flying star chart (especially the Mountain and Water are the 20-year, Yearly, Monthly, Daily, Hourly, etc.) or the period of the house being built. Similarily, when the Life Gua which used as the personal flying star, is used to help to determine the directions less the stars number by itself. Only when you have the directions influences in place, can you relate the two charts together. Warmest Regards Robert Lee

Pillar report: Other sections
Dear Joe, Please read below:- -----Original Message----- From: Listmanager To: Recipients of 'free-advice' suppressed suppressed> Date: Saturday, May 15, 1999 10:07 PM Subject: disagree with pillar report Are you again refering to the personality and physical characteristics from your knowledge of the "Harriet Beinfield's book _Between Heaven and Earth_ (describes the 5 elements and types of people, foods and Chinese medicine). " as well as your own personal intuition? I viewed you and your spouse data. Interesting I noticed that in yours you had lots of water, which made you feel that you were water, but in fact you were weak Fire. Which when your acupuncturist told you to increase your fire, it was pretty good as you were weak in Fire due to the many water element in your life. Which happens to be correct because it was indeed helping your weak Fire, and not what you had assumed as Water element. As for your spouse, there are initally also 3 fire, but after combinations had taken place you only had 2 fire left. In fact your spouse had 4 metal, 2 water, & 2 fire. Metal further strengthens the water, making your spouse a Strong Water. For Strong Water, Wood is a good exhausion, or Fire is a good controlling element for reducing the metal in your spouse data. So far I noticed that your intuition has been pretty accurate in determining the most suitable element for yourself and your spouse. However, a person's intuition may not be able to differentiate a person's true element. Secondly, I have no idea what the book which you have read has mentioned in terms of how they use element to determine your personal characteristics or personality. So far in the current pillars version, these analysis are not included, simply because, a person's personality, can be pretty complex to determine as it changes throughout a person's development, education etc. Thus, it may not be accurate to use Pillar's Heavenly given luck and charts to provide such analysis. Instead, many a times, using additional chinese astrology, Three Lives (San Shi) or Chinese Numerology, Palmistry or Face Reading theory is often more accurate as it takes into account other influence not seen by Pillars. So because of that, what I believe is that your intuition has already help you to determine the elements which you should use to help your own elements in order to benefit from it. I personally do not see much of a conflict, except that, you are now more aware of the actual element which you are born with, thus allowing you to further fine tune the cures and charts to your life. Pillars alows you to know the true element such as weak Fire for yourself and strong water for your spouse. These can be pretty different if they were instead strong Fire or weak water. For yourself, Water is pretty strong making your Fire weak, while Strong Water in your spouse, makes is necessary to use Wood to exhuast or Fire to control. Hope that helps to resolve your conflicts in your personal intuition and the true elements. Warmest Regards Robert Lee

If your house is built before 1984 then, making any changes could affect the flying star of the chart.

Dear Bill, Please read below:- -----Original Message----- From: Listmanager To: Recipients of 'feng-shui-books' suppressed 'feng-shui-books' suppressed> Date: Wednesday, May 12, 1999 4:02 PM Subject: Books On Flying Stars Feng Shui Thank you for your encouragements:) I forgotten exactly where as it has been a very long time ago which I noticed the error, but the error is in one or two charts. There are some error as it is not consistent with the formula she had deduced for the movement of the stars forward and reverse. Thus, one or two of the charts I think got the stars movement wrong. Her steps for deducing the forward and reverse sometimes do not match the charts she used for example. That sort of minor error which I believe are due to either publishing error or as mentioned Flying Star is pretty complicated and she could have made some slight human error. Normally, I would recommend you cross-reference with another book, but for Flying Star, unfortunately, there isn't much books to refer to. As for the analysis and interpretation of the stars, most of it is pretty ok, except that she did not go into details about a great deal of many things. But it is expected, this study is pretty complex. In any case, most of the information in the book is correct. She uses the Lunar charts, which I also find more accurate then another method the Xia charts. Anyway, it is a start for at least learning the fundamentals of Flying Star calculation. If you are in doubt make use of the Flying Star Chart generated by the Geomancy-Online which had been verified thoroughly since version 3.0. Just remember her books also shows the charts in a South-North method, as for the site I have simplied it for users to easily use the chart by reversing the charts for North-South analysis. In any case, that book provides some easy foundation for users to begin learing Flying Star, just be aware that the book is not 100% error free. Hope you understand, currently both Cecil and myself are pretty busy, and are unable to go through the book to give you the exact details. Warmest Regards Robert Lee
