Further to what I had mentioned, you check out a sample of how an indiviual's ba zi has been derived on their career perspectives. Under this attachment, go to Pages 39 to 41. In this example, this person is considered as a Strong Fire person. Thus he has specific careers relating to his "weath" or "power and authority" or careers that are so-so.
-
Under every ba zi, there are suppose to be three kinds of career associations:- 1. Career with Wealth. Here, such careers are suppose to bring one wealth. 2. Career with Power & Authority. Here, such careers are suppose to bring on high positions - with or without necessarily bringing in more wealth. 3. Careers that are acceptable, nothing fantastic. All these depends also whether one is a weak or strong element.

Frankly, this is not acceptable morally in my country. As stagnant clean water can be a site for mosquito breeding. From a moral point of view, it may become illegal if this stagnant pool is found to be breeding mosquitoes. Perhaps, so long as your country does not have mosquitoes, then hmmmm... In the past especially 1960's to even early 1980's garage roofs always have a drainage pipe running towards the bottom. As the government found that many of these homes have clogged drainage pipes... especially due to debris like leaf falling into them, such drainage pipes are now totally banned. All roofing nowadays are purposely sloped to channel away rain water but no drainage for them. Amanda Y. wrote: Recently. I have visited some modern homes with staircases that have openings between each step. Also, these staircases have a small pool of water underneath it. It's just a small square of water - no koi fishes, no running water. Just stagnant clean water.

1. Frankly, as you have correctly asked the question: Does Feng Shui really help? 2. These are some of the considerations:- 2.1. Feng Shui is not a cure all. Thus everything cannot gravitate towards Feng Shui alone. 2.2. Under the Chinese "Holy Trinity" of luck; Feng Shui is just one of the three types of luck:- The three types of luck are:- Heaven Luck - or commonly known as born with Earth Luck - Feng Shui of the home, workplace or even at study Human (Man) Luck - Family relationships, bonding and support structure. 3. As one can see, Earth Luck accounts only for 33.3 percent of the above luck. Thus in an examination, anyone with just 33.3 marks upon 100 percent is considered having failed an examination. 4. The rich gets richer because they are able to tap on what is known as "Quantum Leap" in Feng Shui:- http://www.geomancy.net/products/po-hunting/po-hunting-faq.htm 5. Most of us don't have the luxury of Quantum Leap in Feng Shui nor as you had mentioned -born with a silver spoon. 6. Many of our homes are like "a ten year old 1,000cc car". And logically, even if one path the home with gold, one cannot dream that after doing a Feng Shui audit, such homes can become a Mercedes or BMW or even a Porche, no way. 7. There are lots of people, who don't have fantastic Heaven luck nor Earth luck; but what they have is the support given by family members especially one's kin - parents and brothers and sisters. At your current situation; this area should be your pillar of strength! What is past is past, and try to learn your mistake and be strong! or seek help from SOS of Singapore or other such organisations:- http://www.samaritans.org.sg/index1.html

Perhaps, you can clarify these two points:- What you mean by reverse? The layout plan should be mirrored? I have not looked at the Flying Star but when you mention such things as #5 - it refers to Five yellow? #2 sickness stars..

Further to what I had mentioned, a person's ba zi is derived by looking at the relationships of one's Heavenly stems and Earthly branches. A proper ba zi chart will involve 2 variables each for Year, Month, Day, Hour of birht and House of Life and House of conception to properly derive one's ba zi element and strengths. See attachment. While a rudimentary Chinese zodiac sign is based purely on one's year of birth. For example, Metal monkeys are only found under the year 1920 and 1980. http://www.lovesigns.net/horoscope/astro/mmonkey.htm (You just need to roughly know which year you are born) Compare the two and see which has more variables and information. In addition, everyone born in the 1980 are Metal Monkeys! So what? Too general! Even if everyone is born in 1980, there are such things as born in the a specific month and day. Even general Western zodiac signs have things like Gemini, Cancer, Aquarius etc...
-
The proper traditional method is based on your personal bazi and not basic Chinese zodiac signs. Anyone practising such Chinese zodiac signs are using only very basic "kindergarten" type of Feng Shui practitioners. Why? It is so rudimentary and basic and is not the highest standard. It is just like a teacher who has only limited skills and can only teach nursery to primary school. Proper Ba Zi can even go to as high as "tertiary" level standards. So there is no comparison, here. Thus there are things like very basic Chinese zodiac signs that some people use. For example, http://www.lovesigns.net/horoscope/ayear/a60-80.htm Those born say between 16 Feb 1980 to 4 Feb 1981 are SIMPLY called the Metal monkeys. But these are just generally based soley on one's Year of birth. Where else traditional ba zi uses Day / Month / Year and even time of birth to evaluated to derive a properba zi information. As these variables will interact with each other to give the final analysis based on one's Day of birth pillar.

1. Generally, light pastel colours like Magnolia is acceptable. 2. However, watch the lights! If one uses warm lights, then colours like golden / mellow yellow can turn "bright yellow". If possible, avoid bright yellow colours. 3. In a situation, where this colour cannot be use, that colour cannot be used, then one option is for children's bedroom is a myriad of colours. For example a mickey mouse bedsheet pillow case often have all the primary colours especially: RED, GREEN, BLUE. (Some consider yellow as one of the primary colours). Thus, if a bedroom has all the above "4 primary" colours including yellow, then this is one way of applying all the five elements. Lenus L. wrote: Dear Master Cecil Lee, Are the following colour suitable for 2-5 combo: (1) Magnolia (2) Golden/Mellow Yellow Kind Regards, Pat

1.Check to see if it is feasible for the "back" to enjoy goodfrontage? Yes/No?For example, can activity area be at the back. Or it happens to be the kitchen, the linen area, laundry etc..And/or is the Flying Star qi there good to be the facing. 2. Ifyou had explored the back area and found it unsuitable, then, you may have to depend on the frontage. 3. If the garage is fully closed area;and if the qi coming from the frontage is suppose to be good, then,Yes, the qi can bewasted, here. 4. Alternatively, if youstill have frontage such as windows or asecond floor, thentry toopen the windows at this frontage areaas much as possible, if you do not wish to renovate your garage. 5. Locally, many Singapore homes don't have enclosed garage but a porche that a car can drive into andstill allow for qi to come into the frontage at the ground floor. Thisis like killing two birds with one stone - having a car park and free and easy movement of air /qi into the home. 6. Shifting the main door does not really matter, unless itbecomes an opening to letair/qi flow in. Equally, windows at the frontage is acceptable also.

Please read my original reply. Since you are so concern about the glass piece; and as I had mentioned earlier, it just takes one or two friends or relatives to "spoill" the *YOUR* mood. In Feng Shui, it is still acceptable, since when you close the toilet door, it will still be air-tight. Please re-read my past message. Human beings are always like this: if someone gives you an inauspicious comment, followed by some other people, would you feel uncomfortable! Thus has more to do with human factors - feel good or feel bad...

1. It is not rocket science as all flying star numbers are either classifed as eitherYang or Yin (stars). 2. In the earlier example of a Period 8, N3 home (or apartment); it just happens that there are a high concentration of Yin stars at the North and NE. 3. Thus, especially if we draw a 20 Year Flying Star Chart; and like para 2, found that all the 20 Year stars belong to Yin element, then it is considered as Excessive Yin stars. 4. In both of the cases e.g. North and NE of the above, "fire" element is used to counter the excessive yin stars. Fire can simply be allowing light into that area or room i.e. keep it bright. Otherwise, especially in period where the Year star happens to be Yin also and month, day stars are yin; very highly chance of a "haunting". 5. Again, Excessive Yin stars are not necessarily negative stars. 6. One can also read up about NE and SW : Devil's gate and Devil's back door from past resources in this forum.

When we are considering a second hand car, do we just look at the tires and buy it immediately. Proper Feng Shui is a holistic approach. Not only the exterior is looked at; but also the location of the staircase in relation to the main entrance; does it turn and even how many steps are there. Your question is like placing side-eye covers to a racing horse. And the poor horse can only look straight.... What is the use of buying a car with 4 excellent tires but the entire car is "run-down"..... or not fullly road worthy

1. Please note that there is a difference between NEGATIVE stars and EXCESSIVE Yin stars. 2. For example, EXCESSIVE Yin stars may not be Negative stars. But think about it, Negative stars may or may not be Yin stars. Please go thru the two statements carefully before jumping the gun!

This toilet is on the ground floor. Just peer into the picture and one can literally see the shower head and bath-tub! A totally full clear glass (exterior) toilet! And this development has lots of it at all levels!

1. Snakes is prominent as one of the 12 creatures of the Chinese Zodiac sign. 2. Chinese myths both deplict it as both good and bad. 3. For many us, we sprinkle sulfur powder to deter snakes. Since your apartment is in the basement; it is a tendency of snakes to like cooler areas. 4. Perhaps, do get pest control people to help you deal with it. Julie G. wrote: Hi - I live in a basement apartment of a nice old 2-story home in verygood shape. Since last summer I have occasionally found a snake inmy stairwell near my door (my only entry point). This spring the snakeswere appearing much more frequently and on 2 occasions I found a snake in my bedroom. Lots was done to control this and we finallyfelt that the points of entry were identified and sealed. Soon after sealing off their entry points outside and inside I nearly stepped on a dead snake immediately next to my car. This happened again a few weeks later. It has been nearlya month since this last round - and just today another snake appeared in my stairwell. I would like to know if there is any meaning in the world of Feng Shui that could be applied to a situation like this and if so - are there any remedies? I truly love myapartment but have not been able to fully relax here in many months. I really don't want to move I just want the snakes to find a new home. Interestingly, I had a Feng Shui consultant into myhome a number of weeks ago. It turned out that both areas that I hoped to improve (prosperity and relatioships) also happened to fall - according to the Ba Gua - inthe exact locations each of the snakes were found. Any thoughts or meaning or recommendations you have would be greatly appreciated as I am quite discouraged at this point in how best to deal with this situation. Many thanks, Julie

1. Please refer to the attachment to this message. 2. This report is for a Period 8, North 3 facing direction. Lenus L. wrote: My house is built in Period 8, sitting S3 and facing N3. The east sector of the flying star chart has 5-6-2 combo which I read can attract ghost especially if there is a door. Is it true? 3. Only two sectors have "Excessive Yin" stars. And these two sectors are North and North-East. 4. Thus what you had mentioned is not true for the east sector of this Flying star chart. Thus, North and North-East have clusters of flying star numbers that are all yin stars. 5. For these two sectors at North and North-East; yes, it is best that the rooms does not become store rooms with a door. Else it can attract ghosts or a portal of such sorts. 6. For example, there are so many English shows that shows hauntings related to store-rooms.

A1: Since this is a bedroom, the best method to activate #8 is to open the window to allow qi to "flow" in and circulate in the bedroom. A2: Use Yin water e.g. colours such as blue bedsheets in that bedroom. Curtains can also be considered. A3: Fire element is preferered. Anonymous wrote: Dear Master Cecil Lee, I've read quite alot of posts on Fengshui online and have learnt quite a bit about Flying Stars for home Feng Shui. However, I still have some doubts about the application in different element sectors. Hope you could answer these questions: 1) This year, the Annual Star #8 flew to my bed room whichfalls partially in SouthEast and partially East Sectors. I would like to activate this #8 for wealth and health but read that water features cannot be used in bedroom. What FS enhancement/placement can I do to activate this Annual#8. The other stars in the SoutEast/East Sectors of the bedroom are m5-b6-w9/m6-b5-w8 . 2) How to counter triple #7 stars in a bedroom(SW sector)which also have a #4 base star ? 3) I understand that it is not appropriate to place water feature to activate a base star#8 in a NW sector( main door in this sector facing SW) as water exhausts metal. Is this correct ? if I can't use water here, what's best for activation of the #8 here ?By the way, the other stars here are m3-w2-y1 Thanks. Would very much appreciate your comments/advice.

1. All your questions are centered towards: 1.1. Culture In the past, the Chinese and most cultures consider the toilet "dirty". Thus, toilets are never found in the home. Much less so "open" and so full of glass. In fact, yesterday, just walking along the latest Executive Condo: The Quartz and saw many toilets literaly boxed in full glass even the exterior walls! In the past, toilets only have a single door and even there are openings, they are top rung small ventilation windows that's all. Thus things have changed. 1.2. Shapes and Forms Feng Shui Under Shapes and Forms Feng Shui; it is preferred that when we immediately enter into "something" e.g. main door we don't immediately see a toilet door or a toilet bowl. Thus, opening a bedroom door only to see the toilet door and things like toilet bowl etc... has more to do with this concept. However, this is a plus point in that the attached toilet door will never face the bedroom bed -anymore since it is facing antoher direction. BUT beware! if this is the case, avoid placing a bed next to the wall of the toilet - especially if the toilet bowl sewerage pipe is sharing the opposite wall. 1.3. Commonsense approach Having the glass piece of the toilet facing the bed is as common as a wardrope with glass doors that have some reflection. Or a plasma tv screen facing the door. Technically, it is still fine. Except that if you have one or two unfavourable comments eg. from relatives, friends that it looks inauspicious... then one starts to be feel concerned ...Otherwise, some of us can have mirrors or reflections all around our bed and we still sleep very well. But there are those who feel uncomfortable, most likely from personal "fear" or comments that it is unfavourable. Anonymous wrote: Hi 1) Is it ok tobuild a glass wall instead of the concretewallsuch that the master bed room / bed will have the view of the toilet. 2) With the glass wall, the toilet bowl will be facing the bed. Is that bad for feng Shui? If so, is there any cure? or can i place a bathtub at the glass wall so the toilet bowl will be block. 3) There is a huge full width mirror . It is at the height of the basin. I heard that having a mirror at the side of the bed is bad for feng Shui. Is this layout bad for fengshui? Any cure? 4) The back of the masterbed room door is facing the toilet door is that bad for feng shui? Thanks a million and looking forward to hearing from you.

A full Feng Shui audit is a holistic approach and covers something like:- http://wiki.geomancy.net/wiki/Want_to_build_your_dream_home%3F It does not involve colours alone. And D.I.Y. (do it yourself) is not for the novice. You may want to consider Professional Feng Shui help.

1. Frankly, many or all the objects carried or to be carried are modern commercial products. These products should first and foremost be treated as mere decorative pieces. Much like the trinkets or items carried. 2. Even in traditional China, no one carries specific "tools" to ward off these issues. Frankly, it is all in the mind. As good as carrying a rabbit's foot. 3. Anyway, what you had mentioned dwell more into human factors - psychology, feeling good, security blanket type of stuff! Psuedo effect. Just like given a cup of water and a dummy drug made purely of sugar. 4. Perhaps, if you have the time and energy, go deeper into the study of proper Feng Shui and Feng Shui principles. 5. For example, each of us have our birthdate. Every home or office also has it's own birthdate (the date - it was built and constructed and when human activity starts from that site). 6. One of the most useful tools of Feng Shui is the Flying star chart. And specifically, sectors that may have #3 = scandals, conflicts, lawsuits and work related issues can easily be disarmed e.g. by "fire energy" such as a light at a strategic location etc.. This is one example of: one does not need to carry a "tool" which is not the precedence but diarming such bad issues can be done via the earth luck or Feng Shui of the home.
-
1. The good news is that such things as Pi Xie are modern commercial products. 2. The only purpose is to enrich the seller. Often, it is the same Feng Shui master that sells these products in the name of Feng Shui. 3. You can find out more of such commercial products under this URL:- http://wiki.geomancy.net/wiki/Commercial_Products 4. In fact, the only real Feng Shui product has to be this special ring! http://forum.geomancy.net/phpforum/article.php?bid=2&fid=29&mid=23346&new= 5. These are purely modern commercial products and should be treated equally as what one does with interior decorative items. What happens when we broke a piece of an interior decorative item : Yes, just wrap it in a piece of news paper and throw it away in the dust bin. As these things does not have any magic in it.

Further to what I had mentioned:- 1. The Chinese culture of considering e.g. red as an auspicious colour; white usually associated with death... Has nothing to do with say in the name of "Feng Shui". 2. In addition, all the information provided under this link:- http://www.geomancy.net/info/ For example, all the procedures listed below has to do with Chinese culture and believes by various dialect groups: Cantonese, Hokkiens, Teochews etc.. House Related [ PDF ] - Getting Keys for the First Time / Initial Opening Door Rituals [ PDF ] - Move-In Rituals Wedding Related [ PDF ] - Modern & Traditional Wedding Procedure In my opinion, therefore, the thing especially about black covering, two white towels is based on Human factors (beliefs - good or inauspicious) and not Feng Shui. In addition, some people don't like others to tap on their shoulders when they are gambling. To them, it means that they are going to loose their luck. What has this and others to do with Feng Shui?
-
1. In my opinion, Feng Shui is about Earth luck. 2. Most of the "activities" dwell more with "Customs and Beliefs" than Feng Shui. 3. For example, digging a hole on the wall of the presidential suite and especially covering it with a black cloth has more to do with Chinese concerns that black and the white towels are generally inauspicious colours. 4. Therefore most of the "activities" are related to Human factor i.e. human culutural beliefs than Feng Shui. Perhaps only the "digging" of a hole - has to be examined in the context of whether it has "offended" Tai Sui or it could be the three killing sector or the #5 yellow - sector -this is not mentioned. 5. Thus, in my opinion, as Feng Shui is not a cure all, it is neither also a blame it all on - or in the name of "Feng Shui". Casanova W. wrote: There are some common feng shui taboos among Taiwanese gamblers, such as bringing a hair brush to a gambling table as "brush" is a homophone of "lose," the report said. 6. For example, what has the above got to do with Feng Shui? It is more of human factors - or considered inauspicious via culture. And not a "Feng Shui taboo". Many of the Feng Shui principles are both an Art & Science. Again the above is a belief. Believes are not Feng Shui.
-
1. In general, many people perceive a temple as a "depository". For example, it can be a depository of hope i.e. people go into the temple to pray or seek help from the gods... Agnes C. wrote: Dear Master, myhouse is located beside the temple then someone commented that my house fengshui is not good.....pls.master advise me 2. Frankly, it takes one or two comments by others be it friends, passer-by or family members to make us feel very uncomfortable. 3. Commonsense Feng Shui 3.1 Pollution It was reported recently that some Singaporeans developed lung cancer from frequently breathing in incense smoke, daily from praying to their gods e.g. Guan Yin etc... Thus, if the temple is full of smoke, and if the smoke frequently blows into one's home then it is a REAL health concern. 3.2 Clean or dirty temple Some temples may be unclean as some unscrupulous temple people dwell into things like mediums "Tang Ki" etc.. And especially for a Geomancer, carrying around our luo pan, may see activity e.g. the spinning of our luo pan compass. 3.3 Often, it is the feel good or feel bad factor that gives up the mood ...... Thus inauspicious comments by others.. may make us feel very uncomfortable living next to the temple that we don't feel happy. If our human luck factor is "down" then it comprises 33.3 percent of the holy trinity of Chinese Luck. The other two factors being Feng Shui and born with (Heaven Luck).
