1. As you had mentioned, there is a constraint in that you also have to accomodate your child's bed in your bedroom. 2. Usually, whenever possible, avoid having the legs face the bedroom door ("coffin" position). This is "nice-to-do" and not a "must-do" kind of a thing. As we understand that even for a child, they may roll over. If the bed is a baby cot, then some of these cots have an "organiser" screen or something like that "cover" the area where even if the legs happen to face the door, there is a "screen" outside the cot. However, this screen should not "choke" or cause to choke a child especially avoiding those non-porous type of screen. 3. Sometimes a higher linen cabinet that "covers" up to the child's leg height between the cot and the master bedroom door. Alternatively at night see if the bedroom can may be closed.
