1. Please check some of my past messages on this subject. 2. It has more to do with commonsense or if one calls it "Commonsense approach to Feng Shui". 3. The main concern, for example in your illustration, you have a vehicle (or car) directly below the master bedroom. Here, the concern to some is that should a vehicle catch fire, then additional flames from the fuel tank may explode. As fire rises, it may engulf the master bedroom or trap the occupants or smoke fumes get into the bedroom. 4. Even if the car does not explode, some do keep highly flammable items in the garage (where the car usually is parked). 5. In addition as you had mentioned in a quake prone area e.g. San Francisco area... hopefully because there may be less structural support, a certain category quake may just bring down that room and anything it. And hopefully, the car in the garage don't become one big barbeque stove... 6. From the above, all these has more to do with commonsense. For example, it is common to hear that we should not have a bedroom directly above a kitchen (stove). Again, there is high chance of a fire or even gas leak. 7. Nowadays, get yourself a good water sprinkler for the garage (some garage has such a requirement) and also install proper smoke detectors. And not rely on a string of 6 coins, here! The coins can melt. But at least the smoke detectors do melt but before so, they can make a hell of a lot of noise!

1. Frankly, the sum-of-ten is most effective based on Shapes and Forms Feng Shui. 2. Where if possible, the home is as rectangular or squarish or minimal missing corners or protrusions. 3. The idea is that to benefit from a sum-of-ten, it is best to have as much open space as possible in a home vs too many partitions that restrict this sum-of-ten. Thus it has more to do with this than the numbers on the flying star!

1. The most common hulu's (bottle gourd) are either dried green hulu that are dried or turned a shade of pale pine wood colour. Alternatively the other more common one is made of brass. These hulu are more symbolic thus no need to be specially blessed or "eyes-opened". They need not necessarily need to have a cap or cover. Some believe that black hulus are meant more for "wealth" than health. 2. The pagoda has more to do with those as shown in the shows " Journey to the West". Some have a red "cherry" like droplet above the hulu (glass form). While the most common one is as you had mentioned square bottom, circle, and a sharp triangle at the top - made of brass or brass / copper coated. This pagoda - where it is a replacement of a wind chime or where locations cannot use a wind chime. Usually moving metal such a wind chime is often the better option. As such moving metal constantly "destroys" or neutralise bad earth such as #5. Ben H. wrote: Is any specific wu lou to be used to cure the #2--like it must be from brass, have 6 coin, have 8 immortal etc? Or just any wu lou can do the job? And the last question, have you heard about 5 element pagoda? I've heard that the 5 element pagoda is the best cure for #5 star--better than 6 rod metal wind chime-- because it can "capture" the star in the pagoda? Are any logical explanation? Thank you.

1. Under symbolism in Feng Shui, yes, one has to be careful of angular objects particularly the "tip" especially if it faces or aimed towards a bedroom or an "opening" such as a bedroom door or the main door. 2. Otherwise, in general, it may still be acceptable to place it at common areas - should normally be ok.

1. Some say that SW is the romance sector. Thus, it was felt that hanging family photos is acceptable, here. 2. Usually when applying Flying Star Feng Shui, one can further fine tune applying paintings appropriate for that sector. Thus, if that sector has a mountain star then, a "landscape" painting or picture is acceptable. While if it is a water wealth location, then common Chinese paintings include the kok or gold fish paintings. Glass framed paintings if possible should not be hung facing a bedroom door or facing the main entrance d door. Harb S. wrote: Please tell me about hanging family/friends and chidren's and husband/wife's pictures, in which direction Single images of me and my wife, and also pictures showing both of us, and please let me know about sceneries and posters for SW, South walls. Now i'm looking to hang big glass-framed scenery/landscape on my SW wall , having staircase there. Suggest which colors and images are best?

It would be better to chart out a Flying Star chart. If so, yes, in general, it may be placed at a MS#9 provided there are no #2 or #5 within that sector. Alternatively, such a light can help to "burn" or neutralise #3.

Yes, generally, what you had mentioned sums up the majority use of such "cures". Especially the hulu is commonly used for #2.... (as it is considered as "weak earth"). While #5 is considered as strong earth thus the most effective is moving metal. While 6 coins represents static "big metal". Ben H. wrote: Very logical explanation. Thank you. If there are a combination of #2 and #5, can we use just wind chime to cure the both star? The 6 coin I propose is to cure #2 while the wind chime is to cure the #5. Can the 6 coin do the job? Or maybe we can use wu lou? I've read somewhere says that the wu lou is the best cure for #2, especially wu lou with 6 coin. Is it true? Thank you.

Frankly, there are quite alot of resources on the placement of an altar. For example, a Search shows:- http://forum.geomancy.net/phpforum/article.php?bid=2&fid=1&mid=15799&new=

Frankly, the procedures are not rocket science. And majority of the procedures are symbolic of "placing wealth into a new home". Personally, have already assisted many clients at least a few thousands with it. And many others have also DIY on their own. The procedures are non-religious also some clients add additional steps like bringing along their joss sticks or candles and "gold" paper.

1. Please note that whenever salt water cure is used, best that it is placed in a well ventilated place! As the salt water will react with the "metal" on the coins and it is said that this produces negative ions. 2. This is a traditional cure before things like hepa cleaners or hepa cleaners wth ionisers. 3. Modern method is to use things like the Japanese brand Sharp ioniser cum hepa cleaner. Thus can usually do the job. 4. To neutralise #5, (with or without other elements such as #2); anything to do with moving metal is better than a "static" string of 6 coins. Moving metal range from what I had mentioned under Para 2 to a fan e.g. ceiling fan or standing fan or even a clock to even a 6 hollow rod wind chime. However, it would be impractical to hang a 6 hollow rod wind chime in a bedroom. And a string of 6 coins may not be able to do the job. 5. Thus most of the cures may not need salt water cure. Salt water cure has more to do with "health". As negative ions were suppose to be produced to bind + positive ions. 6. The most effective cure with negative ions is a water fall. Where water suppose to friction with the air to create negative ions. This is why whenever we get close to a water fall, we can feel or smell a nice cool fresh air. But it is ridicious or impossible to create such a water fall especially in an apartment. 7. Salt water cure is thus "outdated" and should only be used by the very poor - i.e. no money to purchase a hepa cum ioniser. Industrial grade hepa cleaners include brands like Honeywell.....

Whenever one feels uncomfortable, if possible take it down and relocate it e.g. to another room or keep it in storage or give away. Neha S. wrote: I have very recently installed a full length mirror on my bedroom wall. This mirror faces the bathroom door which is alwaysusually closed. I have been feeling a bit spooked in that room since the last few days. I hung a shawl on the mirror last night but I was still not to comfortable. What should I do? Is it bad to have a mirror face the bathroom door?

Since it is often not possible to change the location of a toilet (if any), then you have to maximize luck from elsewhere. Anonymous wrote: Is it consider bad feng shui if the toilet is located in the North-West direction? If yes, what can be done to improve the feng shui? Thank you very much for your attention.

1. Reference report:- http://www.geomancy.net/talknotes/talknotes.htm 2. For a strong wood person:- Under the productive cycle of the five elements:- Favourable are: fire, earth and metal. 3. Yes, what you mention under the Five elements apply for a strong wood person:- "If earth is consider my wealth element, should i consider careers from Earth element ( wealth element)or Metal element (element helps to reduce wood)" Casanova W. wrote: Hi, Master. i have read alot of articles on this website but i still need some brief advise from you. Hope you can help me. i have done a free ba zi analysis from your website and i am a strong wood person and my favourable elements should be fire and metal, since i am a strong wood , that means wood + water is presently too much is my ba zi (a) Should i increase my metal element in order to cut away the excess wood element or (b) usingearth element to reduce water first so that water cannot support wood element, but my earth element is too little. (c) Is earth consider my wealth element , since wood absorb nutrients from the soil? If earth is consider my wealth element, should i consider careers from Earth element ( wealth element)or Metal element (element helps to reduce wood) pardon me for my ignorance or if correct me if i had say anything wrong. i look forward to your reply. Thank you very much

1. I don't know Shapes and Forms; neither do I know ba zi and Flying Star. But I insist that you must tell me how to have good Feng Shui! 2. Without good recipes or methods like Flying Star and ba zi, how are you going to have good situational awarness that can result in good Feng Shui? Are you dreaming?

The scope of Chinese Metaphyics is based on the holy trinity of luck:- a. Born with (ba zi) The ba zi or commonly known as Four Pillars or Pillars of destiny has its own tools which include things like : when is your romance period (and how good or how bad it is), your personal compatiblity, your luck and destiny. b. Feng Shui (home & office) In general, it affects your general wealth luck and sometimes, romance luck can be looked at and fine tuned. For example, certain homes have bad Shapes and Forms that can affect romance luck. While applying Flying star can detect and help to properly cure bad stars like #3 (romance, lawsuits, entanglements etc..). c. Human or man luck factors This category is primarily based on the individual's behavour . Other than this, Chinese metaphyics is not a "cure all" for everything under the sun. And particularly Para a. and b. needs analysis and depends on the quality of "work done" and recommendations (if any) made.

1. Under Five Elements concepts, it is acceptable for strong earth to be associated with wood. As wood derives nurishment from earth. 2. Ba zi is more to do with an individual and dressing e.g. is one consideration. For example, water represents: black, blue or grey. 3. For the home, usually Compass School Feng Shui especially the Flying Star and other concepts take precedence, first priority over one's ba zi element.

1. In Flying Star Feng Shui, overall, the base star although is not considered by some as a "shining" star is neverthless a component of the full 20 Year Flying Star. 2. Of course, the main emphasis is still the Mountain # and Water #. And there is such thing as the 81 combinations : of the interaction of both the mountain and water #. 3. Look at it like this: In general, the base star although some consider it less important is still an ingredient in the "life" of a 20 Year Flying Star. Literally, can you do without blood? Our body needs blood rich in iron to survive. And although the base star is not "blood" it is part and parcel of the full component. 4. In mathematics, the twenty year Flying star numbers: Base# Water# and Mountain# are like x , y and z algebra components. 5. The famous Einstein's theory E = MC squared. Thus if the base is say any one of the M or C or E? Can Einstein's theory work? 6. Thus, you cannot say that base # is not important as without it, there is one less variable in the "academic mathematical" model. 7. Therefore, when a "cure" is considered for the average home based on the 20 year flying star, base star is equally important! There are sectors that have nasty MS#9 with WS#5 and when we consider base#5 , wow! this is really bad. 8. Of course, base star is not the shinning star like MS# and Water#. For example in a company or business, high flyers such as Marketing people often get very high rewards because they are suppose to bring in or clinch deals. If you are in support e.g. as a logistics officer in the company, here you are only "burning" the company's money. 9. For banks: a Marketing officer is highly regarded and often well rewarded in the past. But a backroom staff, clearing cheques or doing backroom work is also working. But can you say that you should not hire or worse sack the backroom staff? They are performing a job function also. Although they may not necessarily be in the forefront. Some companies call these people "unsung heroes". While others say these people are a "burden" to the company.
