  2. Dear All, 1. Currently, there are over 406 individual caricatures under this forum's conference: Caricatures: Laughter is good medicine. 2. While the forum is good for posting caricatures, by newest to the oldest posting; however, one draw-back is that it cannot sort the various caricatures into specific Topics: eg. Ba Zi (Four Pillars),Chinese Astrology, Eight House, Flying Star etc... 3. I have just started to classify all the 406 caricatures into various easy to find links. Have just added only the first 50 or more caricatures under this link:- http://wiki.geomancy.net/wiki/Caricatures:_Laughter_is_good_medicine Do check, back in a month's time as I would be completing this project by then! Above is a sneak preview of the classification, for your ease of reading! And hopefully: laughter is good medicine! Cecil Lee Geomancy.net Research Makes The Difference!
  3. 1. Definitely, commonsense dictate that if one calls one or more Feng Shui practitioners; you will definitely get different advice. 2. As mentioned in many previous postings, there are many considerations when placing a fish tank and other matters like colours in the home. 3. Your question to me is like: two practitioners, two different advise, and how? 3.1 Frankly, I am this side of the world, even if Australia is close-by: not seen your layout plan nor anything else for that matter. 3.2 You have to be realistic and even if you asked me how many fishes 8 or 9 is correct? without any reference to proper Feng Shui tools like: the compass directions, the flying star chart of sectors and even individual person's ba zi, I am equally in the blind, here! It is like the blind, leading the blind! (full stop). 4. You may have to check out whether your practitioners practise Flying Star and how they derive your chart and other authentic Feng Shui matters. 5. Simply placing a water feature at North, is a real concern, unless it is a water wealth location. And I would be concerned if a practitioner practises kindergarten type of Feng Shui. Where such practitioners may only have a ONE dimensional view of Feng Shui : North = Water , South = Fire .. That kind of Feng Shui mentality is "gone with the wind" type of case!
  4. 1. Frankly, Feng Shui is not a cure all. 2. If you have some knowledge of Flying Star Feng Shui, the best enhancements is to improve your water and mountain star #8 sector(s). And neutralise some of bad stars #5 and #3. 3. The above is all one can do under proper Authentic Feng Shui. Anything else, is "crossing-one's-fingers'.
  5. 1. In my opinion, most of us don't feel comfortable with pests coming into our homes.. especially since they are suddenly attracted to your home. 2. A few months ago, a client who went to my one of my talks, call me to her home to do a Feng Shui. She was equally concerned as her home is always "plagued" with cochroaches! And she asked, why? 3. Her situation certainly would be different from yours, as her apartment is right above a typical Chinese coffee-shop. And she mentioned cockroaches are more prevalent in the day and afternoon. 4. Here, what I believed was that, during day-time when the coffee shop is operating, it can be very warm, uncomfortable (heat) from cooking vessels, stoves and human traffic. Naturally, the cockroaches took refuge in a cooler, quieter envirnoment, such as one floor, above. And in the evening, they would venture, downstairs for a bite or two! 5. Sorry for the distraction! Of course, having cockroaches and crickets don't seem to go well with good qi or Feng Shui. At the same time, you certainly woudn't have a good feel about your own home (Human luck) factor. 6. Maybe this is just one time... if worse, call the pest control people or buy those cockroach "sweet poisons" that may wipe out their family and relatives... when they return to their nests.
  6. 1. In theory, (or in general) this plot of land that you had described is inauspicious since the lot is wider in front and narrower in the back. Under Shapes and Forms, this is already an "inauspicious" indication. 2. For "cures" it has more to do with the concept of maximizing luck from other Feng Shui concepts: where areas where good qi can be improved on and bad qi supressed. 3. As this is considered a "major wealth" leak under Shapes and Forms Feng Shui, for the owners of this home, cannot afford additional "major wealth" leaks else, it can lead to all down-hill all the way. 4. If not sure, then, check out other lots, first. And treat this as a "last resort". Wei L T. wrote: Hi Mr. Lee My husband and I are interested in purchasing a house which is in a new development. We are both west group people and the sitting/facing direction of the house is SW/NE. However, the house sits on a trapezoid lot which is wider in front and narrower in the back. Is there a cure for this? There is a 6 ft fence surrounding the house, does that help? Or should we just avoid buying this house because of the shape of the lot.
  7. A look at the myth behind the concern that bunk beds are no good!
  8. 1. Frankly, withoutdrawing a proper Flying Star Chart, all advise, here is based solely on "trial and error" type of Feng Shui. 2. For example, under a Flying Star chart, one should have a clear picture of what are the star numbers # within that sector. And if that sector contains nasty stars like #3 or happen to have this star, then, in-deed a fire-place light would be useful to "burn" away this otherwise bad = quarrels, conflicts, legal entanglement star. 3. Some Feng Shui practitioners advise to use symoblic items such as placing a couple of family photos at the "romance sector". Another common item by modern Feng Shui practitioners is a pair of duck. This is acceptable so long as it unlifts your spirits (hopes and aspirations) and that the items don't costs a bomb! 4. Under Flying Star Feng Shui, of course it would be good if say water star #3 is present at the fire place area, IF SO, one can use RED color item(s) at that spot or turn on a low-consumption lighting to help burn away this bad star #3. (Just assuming, whether it is true or not, I am not sure). Anonymous wrote: Hi, thank you for hosting this forum. I rent a house with my soon-to-be husband and I am worried about a gas fireplace that is located inour love & romance bagua. The fireplace is very old and does not work because the gas pipe leading to it has been permanently turned off for safety reasons. We do not own the house so there is no way for us to restore the fireplace to working order. I am concerned that having this broken fireplace in our love and romance bagua is harming our love life. Is there a cure that I can try?
  9. 1. To better understand your home Feng Shui, and if you are trying to DIY, then, you have to be serious about working out "charts" like the Eight House and Flying Star of your home. 2. For this interior of your home, after you have done above, you need to analyse and find cures or if there are good locations for enhancements do so. 3. You should also apply Shapes and Forms Feng Shui, more importantly to scan the environment for any threats such as lone lamp-posts or sharp angles of other buildings aimed at your home. Shashikant M. wrote: My house main door is south east facing. What has to be done for the positive and effects. 4. Seriously if you want to do a properFeng Shui audit of your own home, the above are some of the most important MUST-DO and analyse kind of thing. It is not like posting a one line question. And waiting for the sky to drown down with positive effects.
  10. Flower of romance can be of any kind! A water feature to the right side of the main door can lead to roving eyes! Roving eyes of whom? Can be either party! How about placing a mirror (or highly reflective glass surface?) This is symbolic of roving eyes of the husband ... where the mirror is said to reflect on the stove making the home have TWO stoves! One stove for the wife and the other for the "mistress".
  11. Anonymous wrote: is it bad fengshui to have false ceiling if there are no beams to hide?esp atdining & foyer area? 1. It has more to do with "Commonsense - approach to Feng Shui". 2. For example, many false ceilings are made of gypsum board and these are light weight materials. But, even if the owners don't have bad feelings about it, but, your guests such as friends and relatives may sometimes give comments saying that they read somewhere that this is not good! 3. And if we get too many negative comments, we ourselves may begin to feel not very comfortable with the false ceiling. 4. In Feng Shui, there is no major concern, here as you had mentioned, there is no major concentrated beam or load bearing structure. Thus technically, this is OK. 5. In addition, some install light fixtures and because they are light fixtures, allowance has to be given for it to be lower than the rest of some false ceiling designs. And these again are technically OK, but, it looks like a beam especially if it happens to run across the sofa seating area etc... 6. Thus, it has to do with our personal feelings towards it: i.e. feel neutral or feel simply uncomfortable with it. Otherwise, there is no lasting issue with it. Anonymous wrote: i read ur article about Common Guidelines on the installation of a partition "Avoid placing shoes in the partition cabinet" what is the implication? How can oneimprove the fengshui if it isalready done in this way? 7. Again the story behind the above (partition cabinet) has more to do with symbolism then anything else. 8. The history behind this concern has more to do with certain designs of the partition cabinet than a straight forward - notion that all partition cabients are no good. 9. For example, some owners of homes happen to have partition cabinets with slanted slots to allow the "air within" the cabinet to flow or to "air" the cabinet. And these slanted slots may be built for the entire height of these shoe cabinets. And these are somewhat like "ladies skirts", one can literally see in-to the cabinets from these slots. Imagine, if one has many pairs of shoes like those of Imelda Marcos, former 1st lady of Phillipines; can see a rainbow full of coloured shoes. 10. In fact, close-by to the main entrance, if there are tall shoe cabinets, just make sure that the cabinet doors looks more like "flushed" cardboard doors than those with mesh or slanted "air" slots. 11. If so, it is still acceptable to have a shoe cabinet in a partition cabinet.
  12. Work position is based on the Eight House concept. The limitations of the Eight House can be found under this link:- http://www.geomancy.net/wiki/The_Three-Step-Approach
  13. What is so bad about seeing three chimneys from one's living room? Is it because of air-pollution?
  14. 1. Frankly, it is best to apply Flying Star Feng Shui to look at the sector of your parents bedroom sector since you mentioned that your mum had a stroke. 2. If parents bedroom straddle between two compass directions then one has to evaluate and find out more whether any of the nasty sickness stars such as #5 = misfortune, sickness and #2 sickness. 3. The above are more important than a 2 dimension view of the bedroom or second guessing whether the bed is better to be placed next to the bedroom door or the other end. 4. You have to properly evaluate all these instead of prematurely, seeking advise. As it is like the blind leading the blind! And what can be worse! If subsequently the bad stars are say closer to the other side! This would even greatly affect health. 5. Therefore, as much as you like to hear a solution, it is frankly as good as throwing a dice = 50-50 given such unknowns. 6. It is good that the fan is used thus, if the other side may or could be better, than the air-con location nor moveable wardrope is not a major consideration anymore. 7. For DIY, first, see if you can apply Flying Stars and check for bad stars like #5 misfortune / sickness and /or #2 sickness and in addition, a worrisome concern is if #9 appears with any of the above! #9 represents fire, which can further fuel bad #2 and/or #5! 8. Next, is to apply the Eight House concept. 9. In addition, make sure that parents bedroom does not use any bright Yellow colour(s). As Bright Yellow represents strong earth element and is associated with #5 and #2! If bad #5 and #2 or any combinations of above are present, then it is also dangerous to use anything that is bright (chilli) red in their bedroom!
  15. So, so sorry! We Chinese believe that red and pink are considered auspicious! Thus, there is NO SUCH THING as a PINK slip for the Chinese! Unless you are giving a RED Packet or Hong Bao for occasions like Chinese New Year, Weddings & Birthdays! White slips or white envelopes are given e.g. during a wake (funeral occasion). Therefore, in keeping with the Chinese tradtion, this company realised it's mistake and, please look at this picture vs the last! Can you spot (ONE) the difference?
  16. This Chinese company, places the Chinese Zodiac signs to good use! See how they do it! To the Chinese this is considered is fair and equitable arrangement!
  17. You are indeed a "sucker" if you don't buy this fabulous item! Previously US $1,000 now selling only US $18.88! Hurry, while stocks last!

  19. Sorry, I read, re-read, read, and re-read, cannot understand what you are trying to convey. Blurr...
  20. Quote: Helena W. wrote: It's main door is directly north center of the face of the house directly north for both my husband and I it places spook directly on front door. What can I do? Your cure can be found under this link:- http://www.geomancy.net/wiki/The_Three-Step-Approach#The_Three-Step_Approach Under the topic: Eight House Has It's Limitations
  21. Under the Eight House concept, it is pure and simple: EBONY OR IVORY. YES or NO! Are you working in a good sector? Yes or No? Are you sitting facing a good direction? Yes or No? What else do you want out of this theory or concept? This concept is either Yes or No? And there are no such things as BUT, IF or MAYBE! The saying goes a miss is as good as a mile! Are you working in a good sector? NO! Are you sitting facing a good direction?NO! JUST TOO BAD! NOTHING ELSE CAN BE DONE with this concept! It is YES OR NO! NO BUTS, IFS or MAYBE, please! If the baby is 3months old and cannot even stand-up, how can you make the baby run, please! You have to maximize your luck from somewhere else!
  22. 1. In my opinion, what you had mentioned has more to do with symbolism of say the morning sun rays hitting the front door. Often, this would mean that most likely if the main door is facing the frontage, then this house may be affected by both morning and afternoon sunlight. Quote: Helena W. wrote: Hi,I was told growing up I think my father or m sister always said you need to have the rising suns rays hit your front door for prosperity 2. At the equator, or close to the equator, most of us prefer a North to South aligned house. As this would mean no direct morning nor afternoon sunlight rays. As such a North-South home will only get radiated light and not hot sunlight. An Easterly and Westerly direction home: especially west direction would get the most afternoon sun. 3. Nowadays, the concern is the ozone layer and uv light. Too much UV light shining towards an East and West home is not favourable for two reasons:- 3.1. Most of the time adults go to work and if this bedroom (directly facing west) is our children's bedroom, too much uv light and heat is unfavourable. Too much uv light may cause cancer of the skin. 3.2. And if it is a brickwall, such walls often soak in heat in the afternoon and this heat slowly ooze out in the evening often making the bedroom or (living room) unbearable. Turning on a fan is no use, here. Only air-con. But can everyone afford turning on air-con daily? Quote: It's main door is directly north center of the face of the house directly north for both my husband and I it places spook directly on front door. What can I do? Frankly, I cannot comprehen what you mentioned above about this directly north center? Anyway, it does not matter, here. If you are referring to the Eight House concept and the front door, please note that there is a limitation to the eight house concept: Here, one either sit in a good sector or face one's good sector. If cannot be done, then even if one bangs one's head against a wall, or stand in-middle of the highway...there is nothing one can do nor squeeze out more from this concept or theory! In many past messages, I mentioned that you may have to maximize your "luck" from other avenues! Your home is like a car! If your home is like a mini-cooper; but if one has a family of 8, then, no matter how one squeezes themselves into this 4 door saloon car, one cannot do so! One has to look elsewher to see if one can improve other sectors (or factors)
  23. We will look into the problem of the reply problem other than Internet Explorer - which does not have this problem.
  24. 1. Please note that there are different interpretations with the regards to to the Four Symbolic Animals:- 1.1. Shapes and Forms If you consider shapes and forms then, literally the dragon is suppose to be on your left and the tiger on the right. As what you had mentioned. 1.2. Compass School Compass School interpretation is different. And strictly, North = Black tortise, while South = Red phoenix; East = Green Dragon and West = White (Metal) Tiger. Reference: http://www.geomancy.net/resources/theories/fs-four.htm Katrina L. wrote: Hello Master Lee According to your article and under Shapes and Form feng shui --- The dragon is located to my left (representing East) and the tiger is located to my right (representing the West). So if my house is W3 sitting E3, Does that mean that - when I'm in the center of my house facing/looking outside - my dragon is to my left(that is South) and my tiger is to my right (that is North?)
