  1. 1. The idea is to find the "center of gravity" of a home. This "center of gravity" is one of the key success factors in drawing or drafting especially the Flying Star "pie chart" commonly used to analyse the "birth-chart" of a home. 2. For novices, if a house has too many indents or protrusions, then one may consider "cutting-out" the outline of the layout plan. And use paste this on to a card-board. Here, again the idea is to cut-out the outline of the home. And balancing a pin or nail to located the centrepoint. 3. IF POSSIBLE, the garage and backyard i.e. non-living areas should NORMALY be excluded. Again it depends on the layout plan as often part of the garage protudes or even indents into the layout plan. If so, part of the garage may be used to find the centrepoint and these area(s) treated as a protusion or indent.
  2. Given that both #28 and #29 are similiar; one should try to "map out" which is a better interior in-terms, as you had mentioned for the East Group persons. At the same time, try to check that NW is not at the kitchen or (if possible not at the toilet or a missing corner). Quote: Is the stack on the right (eg stack 29) better than left (eg stack 28) on the same blockfor a east group person so that the bedroom can face SE instead of NW. But that would mean that the main door would be in the "opposite" sector.
  3. 1. If the view from the main door is that of the staircase "flowing" downwards, this is inauspicious. As it is symbolic of wealth flowing our and downwards. But if the view is of an "upwards" staircase, this is still acceptable. 2. The most transparent "cure" is the use of grille gates "that have some reflective surface". For example, some people use stainless steel grille gates that have a reflective surface. Or plastic perspex sheet at the lower part of the grill gate (to block cats and dogs from coming in or going out of the house). As the same time, because of the reflective properties of the plastic (perspex) sheet, it acts like a mirror. This is provided that one's common habit is close one's main entrance door and grille gate often. 3. In many condos, it is a requirement that all doors leading to these "fire staircases" are closed. If your building has such doors, and if the door is closed; then you need not do anything about it. "If it no longer seen it is no longer a problem". 4. Another option is the placement of a plant to "block" the partial view of the staircase. (This option often may not be possible as it may be blocking the way etc). 5. The other more noticeable option is to hang a convex ba gua mirror above one's main door.
  4. 1. Based on the Situational Approach to Feng Shui, which states that no two situations (or homes) are exactly equal or the same. Thus, it depends! 2. Critically, all homes are also faced with the "time dimension" and "time dimension" is one consideration when we consider concerns like "financial distress" and "relationship issues". 3. For example, between 2002 to 2003, I had my fair share of review of homes with problems. Coincidentally, many of these homes have facing directions "North 1 to3" and NW homes also had many of such issues. Coincidentally, again, many who had been doing business were staying in Flying Star N1/2 and N3 homes etc.. 4. In Singapore, nearly every month, I get clients who took the risk of purchasing homes that had problems you mentioned i.e. financial / bankruptcies and/or divorce! 5. Like yourself, the clients who had purchased such homes may or may not get "good returns" from the home. But for the "peace of mind", many of such clients employ 'us' (Feng Shui practitioners) to do a home audit. And use our guidiance e.g. locally, such things as First time open door, procedure, choosing good dates for start of renovations, move-in etc... 6. Frankly, from the many years of reviewing such homes; there are often more than 3 MAJOR leaks, or three strikes and the home is "dead"! (Death as in "financial problems" and relationships). 7. Thus I have always advocated two major Key success factors:- http://www.geomancy.net/wiki/The_Concept_of_Maximizing_Marks and http://www.geomancy.net/wiki/Fix-the-Leak%2C_First%21 Usually, if the above are properly reviewed, recommendations made, there should not be any major concern (in general) of such homes. Willy G. wrote: I'm sorry but maybe my computer has a problem and didn't get your advise regarding this matter. May I ask again what you advise. Is it ok to get a lot that has been foreclosed by the bank moreover has a history of matrital problem since couple seek annulment? Is it bad to buy this kind of lot where there is financial problem and marital problem. Or do you think there might be other factors like maybe a mirror facing the couples bed that cause them to separate and a water element where it is not suppose to be that is why there is financial problem? Will it still be advisable to buy this kind of lot with a history? Please advise.
  5. 1. Hopefully, the double #8's at the back is not the toilet or kitchen area else it is wasted, here. 2. Some homes have their acitivity area at the back e.g. dining room. If there is some form of living area at the "back" of the home, one can have more activities in this area. Alternatively, allow windows to be opened (provided no rain - leaking into the home). Letting qi or air coming from this area is a good consideration - allow it to circulate into the home. 3. Once a while, it is often good to allow qi to or ordinary wind to flow into all parts of the home e.g. open windows or doors every few weeks - is good for qi circulation: avoiding dead / sha qi or suffocating qi. Airing the home is one of the "secrets" to a balanced home. 4. Of course, for those who can afford to turn on air-con, proper maintenance of the air-con is crucial. And air-con circulating within the home/ room or spill over parts of the home is crucial. 5. When buying a new home or resale home, it is best to change the air-con units in each room or get the entire all parts of air-con cleaned by specialist.
  6. 1. In an ideal situation, of course before buying or (renting) a home, it is best to consider the issues that you had mentioned. 2. Otherwise, based on the Eight House theory, this theory has it's limitations i.e. either you sleep in that sector or away from it. 3. Given that there is no way, nor room to relocate say your daughter, then, if Feng Shui is applied, then; 3.1 If you are DIY Feng Shui, then consider ways to fix "leaks" or improve health/safety: -http://www.geomancy.net/wiki/Main_Page#Key_Success_Factors_in_D.I.Y._Feng_Shui 3.2 Or alternatively seek professional Feng Shui help.
  7. Please forget about the first ring! The First Ring is a REAL mistake! This 2nd ring is guaranteed to Wow! You away! Definitely, NO MONKEY BUSINESS, Here! If you are in business, or thinking of going into business, or have family members that are in business, going into business or even thinking of business, YOU MUST HAVE THIS RING!!!!!
  8. Promise me! Please hang an auspicious painting in our living room, please?
  9. Did the elephant made it as one of the 12 Chinese Astrology signs? YES/NO? Maybe? Next-time?
  10. Commonsense approach to Feng Shui? Space Clearing does help!
  11. 1. The concept here is "Feng Shui cannot be done by remote-control". 2. Thus it is a good thing that this is a "new" home (be it brand new or resale, does not matter). 3. Frankly, so long as one does not stay or (have yet) to stay in a new home, one may consider doing renovations. 4. In fact, there are those who have already stayed in an existing home. And as these people have planned to do a major Additions and Alterations (A & A works) they simply move-out for the duration be it a few months to even a year or more. 5. The key consideration is to do:- 5.1 First time open door procedure 5.2 Start of work procedure 5.3 End of work procedure / Move-in procedure If the recommended procedures are or were done, then one is considered to have done "their best" to observe "customs" and protocols. More importantly, after the completion of A & A works, try to avoid touching or disturbing those sectors where Tai Sui resides, the 3 killings sector and #5 bad yellow sector of that specific year.
  12. 1. This has been mentioned many (many) times under previous postings:- 1.1. Under Period 8 [P8], (in general) without considering Shapes and Forms and other external factors:- 1.2 P8 NE and SW generally have favourable wealth qi. Only need to balance the sickness stars for these two configurations. 1.3 Under P8, South and East also do enjoy favourable wealth qi. For the East, just because of where the afternoon sun affects which part of the home.
  13. 1. In an office environment it may look very odd to place some of the traditional cures like a pair of flutes. The other common method is to draw a "fine" red line much like a small string just above where your head is (if it is under a beam). 2. The pillars according to your description, may not seem to be a problem. Usually if it is a concrete beam, the sha qi is approximately 1 metre. So long as you are not "cut" by the pillar, this is fine or no issue. Quote: Irene L. wrote: I sit in a cubicle and there is a a concrete beam over my head in the office. I am worried that it will affect my promotional opportunities in my career. There are 2 pillars, one is blocked by the partition and the one is at a diagonal to the opening of the cubicle. there is also a wall unit aircon to my right...my back is facing a window.. Are there problems? Thank you
  14. For an existing business, when replacing a sign; remove the existing sign and place it mid-way not bring it down to the floor! Only when the new sign has been put up, then bring down the old sign totally!
  15. Here are some of the major considerations:- 1. Avoid hanging the photo (portrait) sharing the same wall as the toilet. 2. Avoid hanging the portait facing the toilet. 3. Try not to have the photo facing the main door. 4. Try to avoid having the portrait facing the dining table. 5. Avoid placing the portait in any "persons" bedroom. 6. If it is placed in a study or an EMPTY bedroom, place it close to or next to the window. But make sure that the sun does not shine directly onto the portait. 7. Avoid hanging the portait at the "end" of the hallway. 8. Avoid hanging it sharing the same wall as the stove or facing a stove or facing kitchen utensils such as knifes, forks (such as those often found at the wash basin. 9. Avoid hanging it even if it is in the livingroom (with some imagination) "facing towards any bedroom that one may undress, or do some ECA activities". Thus, if placed on a wall, if possible, should be placed "away" from the view into any of the "living quarters or bedrooms". As mentioned under para 6, if there is a "private" area or "few walk past" say next to an open window, this is acceptable. Alternatively, often, it can be hang at the location where "one is suppose" to place an altar. Where possible, the height from floor to the bottom frame (if possible) should be 146.5 cm height. The next best height is 127 cm in height. (146.5 is more optimium fora stand-a-lone portait. If it is placed on an altar, then 127cm in height).
  16. This has to be one of the most beautiful RING in the world? Why? Because, it is known as "THE FENG SHUI Jewelry"
  17. In general, a crane symbolises longevity. And also the phoenix. During weddings, one can often find the wedding card with the dragon (male) and phoenix (female) diagram in an embrance. Otherwise the tiger-crane combination is more unique to the Martial Arts. And thus no major significance when combined together unlike the dragon - tiger or dragon - phoenix (crane) combinations. Tina M. wrote: Sorry I dont know how to reply to the answer you have given me about my tattoo. I made a mistake and put dragon and tiger in the subject but explained in the message text that I have learnt a the tiger-crane combination, not dragon and tiger and want to have a tattoo of both animals, perhaps one on each leg. (I am a dragon in the Chinese horoscope - sorry to confuse you. Kindly advise Respectfully Tina
  18. 1. Other Traditional methods: Since this is a "metallic" "beam", then another option is to draw a small thin red line where this air-duct is just above your head or use scotch tape or masking tape and place a thin red string with two ends with the tape. The red string runs above your head. 2. If you do it properly, very hard to notice the red "line". This red line represents fire element to curtail the "metal". Hope the above helps.

    Tatoo

In Feng Shui, we call the Dragon and Tiger as the "Green Dragon" and "White Tiger". Here for the external Feng Shui, the dragon is on the east or left side, while the tiger is at the west or right side (if we stand inside the door looking outwards). Nowadays in Singapore, few will get a tatoo where the dragon and tiger embrace. If so, often, the tatoos are on the arms and not the legs. This is because to be "harmonious" the dragon and tiger should be in an embrace. Unless if the tatoo is on the legs, it is felt that where we stand, the dragon should also be in embrance with the tiger. In the early 1970's David Carradine played a disciple of Shaolin Martial Arts. And when he graduated, he placed his two arms around a large Chinese urn and carried it. Here, the dragon and tiger image was burned into his arms (not tatooed). If you managed to get the show, can check to confirm which armed was "burned" with which symbol.
  20. 1. Frankly, both facing and sitting are equally important. 2. The purpose of sitting and answering questions in an examination is to try and maximize our marks: http://www.geomancy.net/wiki/The_Concept_of_Maximizing_Marks 3. In real world Feng Shui, isn't it better if both sitting and facing directions are equally important. 4. For example, even if we have an excellent facing direction, but behind the home is a fast "moving water" canal, this is already "bad" Feng Shui on it's own. 5. To begin with, NW sitting or SE facing or vice versa plot of land is really not that fanastic under Period 7 or 8 Flying Star Feng Shui. All these will add up to subtract the Feng Shui luck. Or leading to too many "leaks". Anonymous wrote: I do appreciate your free advise as well as a lot of us not too familiar with feng shui. I would like to ask which is more important when looking at the lot. Where the lot is facing-direction or sitting direction? I have a Kua Number of 8 and the lot is facin g SE and sitting NW. According to the chart, NW is good but SE is not. Please enlighten me. Thank a lot and more power! Hope to hear from you soon!
  21. 1. All hospitals have a Morgue. Where dead patients are moved over to this building for coroner's investigations and "deposit" and "release. 2. Thus, do check that the unit and block you are interested in is not next to or facing this building. 3. Alternatively, avoid the unit or block if it is the A and E ward or a ward for contagious disesase or during an emergency, this ward caters to those who have unknown or unidentified, ailments. 4. Thus, if the hospital has any of the above, try to stay as far away as possible! Even 500 metres or more... 5. For other buildings in the hospital, the higher the unit you stay in will be better. Thus even if the hospital is 50 metres away, your unit which has height should "overlook" or high floor to avoid too much "air flow" (depending on high or low pressure) coming from the direction of the hospital! Quote: Anonymous wrote: Dear Cecil, I would like your advise in regards to what distant we should stay away from the hospital. I just view a apartment on the 13th flr. This is the 5th unit from the corner, and the side of this corner flat is facing the hospital, about 50 meters away across the road. Appreciate your advise.Thank you. Regards, Jane Lee
  22. 1. Thanks for the two photographs. However, I am still not very clear whether the house is entirely one or from the second picture, is there another house door facing your new home door? 2. From just the two pictures, the glass wall is perhaps or maybe a "double edged sword". Removing it is not a possibility as I believe in the second picture, there is another identical glass wall similar to yours for another unit? 3. The main door seems to be situated oddly behind the guard rail and concrete that is semi-circular. Since the door is a permanent feature of this house, and if you are looking at the Feng Shui, then, you may have to consider other factors or applications of Feng Shui concepts and guidelines. 4. Generally, one good thing is that the "court-yard" is good as it helps to "congregate" or "collect" qi. It is always good to have such a bright hall (close to the main entrance) making it "bright". Quote: I was wondering ifanyonecan give me an insight on whattodo about thefront door in a house we?re supposed to move in to in a few months. There?s a glass wall right in front of it !!!, that was built in an attempt to reduce noise from the garage entrance. The house and front doorface SE. I?m attaching a couple pictures and I would really appreciate any help!
  23. 1. Frankly, this needs some analysis. 2. In many instances if the problem lies with the home, Feng Shui may help to "fix" such "leaks" and also improve the changes of conception. (Nothwithstanding other husband-wife - "medical" problems or age factor).
  24. 1. Firstly even if possible, normally tilting a door only brings temporary changes - and often not the best method. 2. The better method is to "tap" qi coming from good sectors e.g. if the qi coming from a specific sector e.g. a specific living room window, then it is good to constantly allow qi to come in from this window. And for some window(s) that has poor qi, then open them less often (provided these are not critical windows such as a bedroom window). If so, the window should still be opened to allow air to circulate. (opened but not fully).
  25. Many of the good units in The infiniti (if u are referring to this development). Many units face NE or SW. But the worst ones #9, #17 etc... face a noisy highway!
