  1. Codiaeum variegatum cultivars: Croton family The Croton family of plants and leaves have one of the widest range of colours: from streaks of red reddish yellow green to the greenish varieties. It's family name is: Euphorbiaceae. And this wide range of leaves/plants originated from South India, Ceylon and the old settlement of Malaya: Comprising the Peninsula Malaysia to Singapore in the South, Borneo and Sarawak.
  2. 1. This plant has very attractive small "bite" sized bright red coloured fruits encasing a seed. 2. In my opinion; best to avoid like the plague especially if there is a newborn around in the home. The fruit is poisonous! 3. The common name of this plant is the "false rattan". 4. It's scientific name is : Flagellaria indica and belongs to the Flagellariaceae family. 5. This plant originated from many parts of the world: Taiwan, South East Asia, Polynesia, Australia and even Tropical Africa. BEST KEEP AWAY FROM THE YOUNG!
  3. Further to what I had mentioned:- 1. The see thru pastice rice bin is available to the NTUF Fairprice at SGP$7.90. 2. While the wooden barrel, that symbolises "a traditional" wealth bin costs SGP$33.00 and available at the so called "higher end" or "private" Cold Storage supermarket. 3. Frankly, I am surprised that when it comes to deployment: it does not mean that those who stay in a condo or landed property tend to buy or use Para 2: the wooden "wealth" barrel. 4. On the contrary, I have seen more who stay in a condo uses the more "practical" see thru rectangular bin: In my opinion, most likely due to space constraints and that this see thru is more practical: need not move especially for some who keep this bin in their store room - easily pour in a new bag of rice each time. 5. As for those standing in landed properties; I see more using the so called "higher end" SGP$33 wooden barrel one. 5.1 For those who stay in government housing board flats; maybe because many of the older flats have larger more spacious kitchens and because of greater number of older folks who view symbolism over function: 5.2 although the barrel often has to be carried out from the storage cabinet; but it symbolises wealth and even if rice is empty, it is not seen - thus from the outside no one can tell whether it is full or empty unless oneremoves the lid. 6. Thisreminds me of our former Prime Minister :Mr Goh Chock Tong. Heonce said : to understand or find out more of a family; go visit their toilet! 6.1. So the next time, you visityour relatives or friends; do check out their toilet and hahahaha... their rice bin... to "reveal some " of their hidden aspirations especially those using thewooden bin or for some; they prefer functionover symbolism cum aspiration...
  4. Some households prefer instead the "see thru" non-traditional type of bins. Typically, these are never left empty, always filled when close-to or near empty... In my opinion, households who use these are those who are consider function over pure-tradtion aka. modernist...
  5. 1. This species originate from Southwestern Colombia. The country notorious for growing, illegally selling poppies... 2. One of the most popular name is: Tail-flower. As this name suggests, it has a "tail" or what looks like a tail. 3. This family have different coloured typed of leaf but the most popular is the red coloured leaf and red coloured tail. 4. The picture shows young plantings of this species. 5. This plant and flower belongs to the family of : Araceae. 6. It's other common name includes: Flamingo flower and the Anthurium plant.. 7. Very easy to flower and very popular indoors as does not like direct sunlight and general watering is enough. An "easy-going" type of plant.. to match an easy going ... gardener
  6. Plants in small pots tend to die easily if they are not frequently watered...
  7. AnEagle is a symbol of power & strength to the Chinese. And a lone eagle is symbolic of a lone hero fighting for justice.
  8. Jade figurine with old man, hulu and storks: this figurine with stocks signifies a SMILINGold person wishing him long life.
  9. This is another of the designs of the typical "wealth" vase or tripod with three legs.
  10. Nice scenes from my hotel room in Grand Hyatt, Beijing - 2009 visit.
  11. Mountain star #8 can be activated with just anything! For example, from a simple "red" brick; ostrich sized rock to a purple amerytst mountain stone to a bowl full of coins and also various materials of this design with three legs...
  12. White Jade is commonly carved into intricate White cabbage jade figurine. A common popular display item as cabbage is a stable vegetable in many parts of China.
  13. 1. In my opinion, frankly having reviewed hundred thousands of layout plans for both the developersand consumers (buyers); few would even use the correlation of the "centre of gravity" as the premiseto determine the layout plan. If you look at it carefully, there is nothing magical or hocus pocus about determining the centrepoint. 2.As in your the case the layout plan that you had furnished shows the toilet at the centrepoint. This is considered one "major" leak. And oftern from my past experience, one"major" leak in a home or up to at leasttwo to three can still be sustainable. More "leaks" and the home or apartment literally goes downhill. Jess C. wrote: Wow Master Lee, you explained really well, I have actually showed the layout that I posted to many and they are not able to determine the centre of the house. As I read that if the toilet is at the centre of the house it is inauspicious. Hence, I think the design of the houses by developer is really important.
  14. In this illustration, again the centrepoint is an estimation based roughly on the premise that all missing corners should roughly equal to the area of the protusion. In fact, I should have made the LIGHT BLUE (CYAN) coloured area a little bit more smaller in area. Thus the centrepoint or centre of gravity should move slightly upwards in this layout plan. Neverthless, I am confident that it is quite close the the center of gravity.
  15. 1. This layout plan is also not exactly rectangular. 2. Using the "RULE-OF-THUMB" method, try to imagine the largest rectangular surface area and if possible; the area of missing corner should where possible be close to the amount or area of the protrusions. 3. Again, for those who are not that expert in determining the center of gravity of the layout plan = centrepoint, can again, make a photocopy of the layout; paste it on a hard cardboard, cut-out the outline and try to balance it on a name. This is the "Stone age" method. If really not sure, then go for this stonehenge method...
  16. Frankly, the 3-legged toad is a con-item and the closest equivalent.. of the three legged toad figurines are of these potties... In fact, at least this potty is useful! It is a depository of the shit of youngsters! How's that! When I first saw this potty... I automatically think of all the "shit" those con-people are selling useless products in the name of Feng Shui... To those sellers: "EAT-SHIT"..... When the buying stops, the selling can!
  17. Government Housing and Development Board flats (HDB) This flat is located in Bedok South, Singapore. This type of flats were very common between 1974 to 1980's. As mentioned earlier, both toilets are never at the centrepoint of the home.
  18. 1. The most optimium is by finding the center-of-gravity. Thus, if you can place the outline of the interior layout plan EXCLUDING PES - on a hard cardboard and cut-out this outline. Balance it on a nail. Usually, once the entire cut-board can be balanced on a nail, this should be the centrepoint aka. centre of gravity of the layout plan. 2. Alternatively, you can use this information, where I had "predicited" the centerpoint is or should be close to this marking. See attachment.
  19. These wonderful fishes really have a wonderful time in Shanghai, China. What a unique linked fish-tank!
  20. One more picture of the type of advertisements in lifts of newly completed government housing board flats...
  21. Vocabulary for English to Chinese (Mandarin) and Chinese (Mandarin)to English is different. And it is very easy for lots of signs in China to have very poor gramma mistakes.... This sign at the Beijing airport; Starbucks cafe shows: " PERMISSION TO WISH" Huh? Where or how do we get permission ot wish? This is a mystery.. indeed Hahahaha
  22. 1. Chopsticks is said to be an excellent invention. As it allows a person to regulate the amount of food into one's mouth. 2. Using a chopstick means that we eat in smaller bites and bits... And this is considered a key sucessfactor in slowing down the speed and even quantity of food consumed at any sitting. 3. Best still; some high end restaurants in Beijing China provides for each individual TWO chop-sticks: 3.1. The "outer" chopstick in black is meant for "shared" use e.g. picking up food from the serving dish to your own plate. And you use the ivory chop stick from your plate to your mouth! This is ulitmate hygiene! 3.2. So far, I have yet to see this practise even in High end restaurants in Singapore or the Far East! Kudos! To these Chinese who not only invented the chopstick but brought it to further great use!
  23. " Auto-suggestion serves as a potent mechanism that can significantly influence one's thoughts and behaviors; therefore, it is essential to approach it with caution to avoid negative outcomes." - Master Cecil Lee, Geomancy.net
  24. Benjamin H. wrote: Hi Master, Thanks for your prompt reply. The mirror is actually facing the window( from the waist height upwards) where there is a "poison arrow ( a curved beam supporting the sun-shield of another part of the building). So far from my past experience, I don't see or imagine that a curved beam or if it is a sharp corner can act as a poison arrow. The saying goes "a picture tells a thousand words". My apologies if the directional legend provided was incorrect. When i used a digital compass found in a trekking watch and stand at the door facing outwards it gave me a value of N. The other directions are as follows, the desk is facing SE, Window is at the S, bed head is towards the S. From the resources you had provided in your website, i understand the this best suits an East group person. Am i right to say that? By the way, i m an East group person. As mentioned previously, even if a person is an East group person; two best study directions are: "Prosperity; and Excellent". There is one more thing, when i enter the room, there is a wall blocking my view of the entire room and it is alittle dark in this area. Since it is near the entrance should i do something about it? I am sure you close and lock your door when you are in your own (personal) dorm room. If so, frankly, I don't see any concern with having a slight blind spot, here. I am sure also, if the door is locked, and someone ones to illegally come-in then you could be awareof it. Dorm or no dorm, some master bedrooms equally have a long passageway. Lastly in your opinion, do you feel that the house number is important? (building number 235=1, room number 211=4 ) Frankly, there is currently no such thing as Feng Shui of building number. For example, the compass school of Feng Shui : Flying Star can be applied for both horizontal Feng Shui i.e. the common 20 Year Flying Star analysis and vertical Feng Shui is about Feng Shui of apartments. It can be applied to units or dorm if you want to do so. But why do you want to do so. If the number is considered "inauspicious" : can change room or have auto-suggestion all the way.... and even the senario of self-fullfilling prophecy?
  25. My new husband formerly had a very powerful gun: equivalent of the US Assault Rifle AR 15 and/or Russian AK 16. Today, my husband is 70 years old. He assures me that he still posses a gun, abeit what to do.. not so powerful one... To be frank, today, his gun sometimes do jam alittle and sometimes, his gun needs something like viagra to rejunivate it... As for me? My Biological clock has stopped! When we were young, we always... felt that we should wait until later to have children... BUT... time had past.. and what to do; I literally ran out of fertile eggs... Oh gosh! By the way; I had not introduced us: My husband's name is: Smith & Wesston Leeand my name is: Timex Seiko Tan
