  1. Dear Vincent, I would agree with you that central palace could most likely still be a Period 7 especially if there is no major renovations done on or after CNY 2004. For example, if you had not done any major renovations or if the existing owners did not do any major renovations; or if there are no major renovations done on the external also, then normally it is best to consider your home as a Period 7. However, after taking over the apartment this year, if you had done a major renovation, then your apartment can be considered as a Period 8. In my opinion, if you did not do a major renovation, it should be considered as a Period 7 analysis. Early this year, there were quite alot of postings on how to change to Period 8 or the actions on how to do so. Usually, it is often best to study your chart to see if which Period is more favourable. And often, a good practitioner would often chart out two charts to give one an option especially if one has yet to do any major renovations -- if you have not done so, yet. So that one has a better understanding or advice. Warmest Regards, Cecil
  2. Dear Ashwini, Please see below:-
  3. Dear Mitesh, To be truly honest, it is best that you confide your problem with a close family member or even a friend. Especially at this time of need. Or do seek help from a voluntary org. in your country. Generally, many of us do encounter relationship problems and as mentioned above, try to confide in someone to hear your problems. Take care! Cecil
  4. Dear Anon, In my opinion, this can be quite "tricky". For example, if it involves a major renovation to get the entire basement upgraded, there is a likely chance that your home can change to period 8. Warmest Regards, Cecil
  5. Dear Anon, Unless the back of the house is the frontage, if not there is often no significance attached to it. Warmest Regards, Cecil
  6. Dear Anon, Truly, in this case, you really have not much place left for an office. For most office, so long as it is well ventillated e.g. with air-con. This is OK. However, if (last resort) you are using your home bomb shelter, one can still do so so long as there is also sufficent ventilation and lighting. Frankly, often, the rubbish cute is closed when not in use. Not a major issue. Therefore, if you really have no choice, do try it out first and see how it goes, here. Of-course, if there are any other choice e.g. using the living room - where one can see the day - night, this is much the better. In such a confined room as the bomb shelter, it is good to have very light music or a clock to show the time. It also depends on one's tolerance level. Some of us can work, just anywhere, while for others, a higher sensitivity. Warmest Regards, Cecil
  7. Dear Brenda, No. In whatever age, one should simply stick to the actual compass direction. Therefore, in my opinion, there is no truth to add 20 degrees just for the age of 8. Furthermore, why add 20 degrees? 1 degree per year. Warmest Regards, Cecil
  8. Dear Anon, Apologies. The sentence under Paragraph no. 5 should instead be:- " Generally, besides other considerations, house no. 11, 12 and 1, 2, 3 are not affected by the cul-de-sac, since they are along a parallel road." As I had wrongly mentioned house no. 10, above. House no. 10 is affected by the cul-de-sac as mentioned earlier under Para 1. Warmest Regards, Cecil
  9. Dear Satori, Frankly, there is no harm in placing a rug. Perhaps, this is more like taking a "sugar-coated" pill. Warmest Regards, Cecil
  10. Dear Anon, For your home, in general the binding elements are:- 1. Wood (Green or brown or wood furniture). 2. Fire (Red, pink or purple). Under the Five Elements concept, the above is used therefore to help "bind" a couple. Strong water vs strong water is not so bad as:- Strong metal person with a strong water person. Here, often, a strong metal person could add "greater" stress to a strong water person. However, even in such a combination; this relationship is beneficial to a Strong metal person. Warmest Regards, Cecil
  11. Dear Anon, Thank you for the rough sketch: 1. Generally, based on your sketch (without taking into consideration other issues like where is the main entrance): Home no. 9 is the worst. Home no. 8 is the 2nd worst. Home no. 10 is the 3rd worst. 2. The above three homes no. 8, 9, 10 would be particularly inauspicious especially if the main door faces directly the cul-de-sac. 3. Depending on the distance of the home to the cul-de-sac, and if for example, if the gate is a drive-thru and if the main entrance is on the side and not facing the cul-de-sac; plus, if there is often a retaining wall that shield's the main gate (wall), then, the effects will be lessened. 4. For no. 5, 6 and 7:- The main door should not directly face the cul-de-sac. There should be a driveway leading into the home. And if possible, the main entrance is at the side. 5. Homes that are not affected by the cul-de-sac:- Generally, besides other considerations, house no. 10, 11, 12 and 1, 2, 3 are not affected by the cul-de-sac, since they are along a parallel road. Warmest Regards, Cecil
  12. Dear Anon, Frankly, so long as you try to do minor renovations or do if possible do it piecemeal i.e. renovation a few locations at a time e..g not more than 1/4 of the home, usually your home would not fly into the new period. Thus, if you need to change the carpet, see if it is possible or feasible to do them piecemeal:-
  13. Dear Satori, To be honest, this resource is meant for one who is contemplating designing a new home. But once, the "steps are formed" or had been laid, there is not much one can do to change it unless -- one resorts to a major reno - which is not practical. Warmest Regards, Cecil
  14. Dear Emily, In my opinion, it is acceptable to leave it there and not to remove the singular windchime. Warmest Regards, Cecil
  15. Dear Ricky, Yes, this is definitely a much better arrangement: 1. the sharp edge of the cabinet no longer points towards the dining table. 2. this layout definitely makes the kitchen more rectangular in-shape and the fridge is now flushed against the wall area. (So long as there is proper ventilation for the back of the fridge, this is ok). 3. If the oven is at position A, this is OK. 4. Generally, we have not taken into consideration the wife's ba zi to see if the stove is in a good facing direction. But, if say the opposite direction is favourable, then a mirror can be used to "reflect" the image to the other side of the wall. Especially if current stove is say facing e.g. East. and the opposite side is West. Warmest Regards, Cecil P.S. with attachment.
  16. Dear AC, 1. As mentioned in my previous message, it is generally considered as a leak i.e. especially if the WC /sewerage line is found at the frontage toilet. But if the toilet has a half-bathroom i.e. generally only for bathing or shower, and no WC, then, it is a non-issue. 2. Be-careful of where the Grand Duke location is and also the 2nd direction of where not to renovate the home during this lunar year of the monkey: Do check that the renovation works should not be carried out at either: 1. West-South-West at 240 degrees 2. South If you are doing the renovation works for next Rooster Year 2005, then these locations are taboo:- A. West at 270 degrees or B. East Therefore, do check that the reno does not clash with any of the above. If the renovations is only at this half-bathroom, No, in my opinion, your home would not be able to fly to Period 8. However, for a landed property, do check out past postings on how one can fly a home to Period 8. If you are trying to Fly to Period 8, do make sure first that it is or will be advantages to do so. Warmest Regards, Cecil
  17. Dear Lisa, Please see below:-
  18. Dear Iris, As stated in the report that it should not be interpreted too seriously. Since this is a vertical Flying Star Feng Shui. Most of the time, it is used merely to compare a situation where: We are interested in buying a unit in a specific block e.g. block 15. And since there are available units #5-15 , #6-15, #8-15, this report is used to look at the qi flow within each of these units. Warmest Regards, Cecil
  19. Dear Sandra, Where possible, the pool should not be circle or circular shape. Since the tiger is considered as a "white" or metal tiger, often a line of plants can be used, here. Warmest Regards, Cecil
  20. These are two good articles to understand on the Chinese 7th month.... Usually those who are over 40 years old... have a higher apprehension about buying a home during the Chinese 7th month. The second article, mentions that so long as a developer has a viable "product" or "style", such a home sells even during the Chinese 7th month. Recently, a forum message wrote about the fear of buying a car during the 7th month. We might as well not buy anything during the 7th month if it were that bad. Thus, we might not want to eat? to work? etc...
  21. Dear Anon, Please see below:- But, in some traditional Feng Shui schools; we are told that a sword hung in the living room could signify bad relationships or quarrels etc... Between the above two concepts, it is safer not to hang the sword at all. In fact, much of the myth of the coin sword comes from the movies. For example, many of the "ghost catching Chinese movies" show a Toaist monk using what looks like a sword made of these coins. And, presto! Many people, started commercialising the sale of these swords -- based on the movies. Hey! If it appeals to movies, and if it can sell, these people would then push the sword in the "holy" name of "Feng Shui". Place it facing into, outwards of a home and it still would be the same. In fact, what has become is: the seller of the three-legged toads would become richer. And the buyer? Poorer! In fact many business has become successful, thru good groundwork and not to stuff themselves with such commercial products. Warmest Regards, Cecil
  22. Dear Anon, Perhaps, you may consider a potted plant. Warmest Regards, Cecil
  23. Dear Anon, Nowadays, many of us immediately associate Feng Shui merely with the interior decor of a home. But this is far from the truth. For example, I refer to Dr Evelyn Lip's book "Chinese Geomancy - A layman's guide" Page 7:- Quote from her book: "There are three types of sha or sand which the geomaner looks for. These are represented by the various "star" symbols. The Star of Fire represents sand that has a sharp and cutting edge while the Star of Wood is sand that is round and straight. Sand that is long and round is called the Star of gold, whilst sand that forms a wave-like pattern is called the Star of Earth. Once the quality is sand is determined and classified accordingly, the divination of a site can be computed e.g. sand that is round, regular and full is reputed to bring fortune, while sand that is irregular and defective is supposed to spell bad fortune. In a Chinese book on geomancy, as many as twenty-seven types of sand are described in detail ". End of quote. - Source and Credit to: Dr Evelyn Lip, Times Publication - reproduced for education purposes only. Therefore, perhaps, those who really do not know indepth about Geomancy often think that is may be a secondary art. But in ancient times, Feng Shui is used to locate as large as a city etc... Warmest Regards, Cecil
  24. Dear Meena,
  25. Dear Ashwini, To be honest, often, Shapes and Forms Feng Shui prevail over other forms of Feng Shui e.g. Flying Star etc... Warmest Regards, Cecil
