These are some considerations: 1. There are always differences in opinions. It depends on whom you ask this question. 1.1 Some Feng Shui Masters (FSMs) would say NW1. While others would still say that NW2. 1.2 Some FSMs would say NW1. But temporary. As ultimately, the actual facing of the house is still NW2. 1.3 Those who say that it will become NW1 based their belief of symbolism. This group simply "eats and sleep" on the "Main Entrance Door". And their Feng Shui revolves around this Main Entrance Door. If one encounters this group of FSMs. Their answer is always NW1. 1.4. I am more inclined towards Para 1.1. and 1.2. Thus, NW2. 2. Frankly, as mentioned above, the reply depends on WHOM one seeks advice from. 3. The above falls under the Compass School of Feng Shui = Flying Star Feng Shui. 4. The other application of tilting of the main door is to steer away from poison arrow such as a lamp post aimed towards a main door etc... 5. Search for Hyatt Hotel and one can find photos in this forum of such a tilt at the frontage of Hyatt Hotel. It is based on Castle Gate Theory. (This is an advanced theory and many FSMs today don't really know what it is or how to apply this. LOL!) 5.1. And the benefit here is both the "flow of qi" as well as avoid poison arrows (if any) where tilting a door symbolise that the main door may no longer face directly e.g. a lamp post.

These are some considerations: 1. Contrary to popular beliefs, not every thing is a Sha Qi (poison arrow) 2. Take a cue from the Management concept / situational approach called "It Depends!". 3. Thus Sha Qi is not a one-size fits all. 4. The key to understanding is the logic of "vulnerable" openings of one's premises (can be) a home, a business premise. 5. For a home, the most vulnerable areas are: the main entrance door, the sliding panels and/or the windows. 6. If there is say... a horizontal edge of the neighbour's house. But if it is at the same level as one's home wall; then no issue. Same goes for pointed roof-lines and objects such as in this first or earlier thread that looks like a "threatening" knife... etc... 7. Another area not covered by the above is another form of Sha Qi. This form of Sha Qi is often an opening e.g. between two houses. Add in the wind conditions. 8. We can also consider this example. Say, if one's home is standalone on a hill. Surrounding this home has natural or planted trees. 8.1 On windy days, these trees help to slow down the wind. Contrast this to a house on a hill completely on barren ground. Too strong a wind often means one or family members can fall sick. Much like the examples I had provided in the movement of air flow between two or more blocks of flats. Case studies .. can be found if one does a search for the likes of " La Fiesta " or "Luxurie" condo. (Found in this forum). 8. For landed properties are also the same. Sometimes the house is between a gap of two houses. Plus if it is unusually windy, such that if one were to open one's home windows, strong winds gush into our house, then best to control this wind by reducing the amount of openings or closing them. Please note that Can or Cannot buy ranking is not "one-size" fits all. Main consideration is based on the main breadwinner. In the above example of the review of stack #30, both partners happens to have the same or identical suitable "fit". In this illustration, one unit scores a high 75%. While the 2nd unit scores a poor 25% fit to this potential buyer of the unit...

Past Ranking Exercise. Showing an A to Z considerations for a detailed ranking exercise. BY RANKING OF HDB KALLANG BREEZE AND TOWNER CREST ================================================= Note the alphabet at the front of the stack number : K = Kallang Breeze. While T = Towner Crest. For example KXX means Kallang Breeze Stack #XX 1ST CHOICE = KXXX TXX 2ND CHOICE = TXXQ 3RD CHOICE = KXXK TXXBS TXXB TXXPQ 4TH CHOICE = KXXJLU TXXV TXXAV TXXv 5TH CHOICE = KXXT KXX KXXAGT KXXGT TXXW TXXAB 6TH CHOICE = KXXADFKT KXXCDEU KXXBJLT KXXXXT KXXBLU LAST RESORT = KXXCDE KXXHKTZ KXXXXT TXXXXS LEGEND ====== For example: KXXAT = Kallang Breeze Stack #XX + Afternoon sun + Suitable facing for Mr XX. A = Throughout the year, the unit is exposed to the afternoon sun at an angle. B = The master bedroom may experience afternoon sun exposure, even between 6pm to 8pm. C = This unit shares a wall with the common rubbish bins, and stack KXX has a direct view of them. D = Some noise from the MRT tracks can be expected, especially towards the rear of the unit. E = Avoid purchasing units below the 8th storey due to the 6-storey high MSCP at Kallang Breeze. F = Units with a view into the Precinct Pavilion may experience noise during certain activities, so opt for stacks above the 12th storey if possible. G = Open Drainage Reserve does not pose any issues for these units. H = The master bedroom of Stack K#XX on lower floors has a view of the Public Housing's Bin Centre. J = Stack K#XX is located next to the Bus Bay, so avoid low units for this stack. K = Lower floors may experience traffic noise from Sims Way. L = Lorong 3 Geylang is a small road with minimal traffic. Opt for a unit on a higher floor if you prefer to avoid any road noise or bus disturbances. M = Gets direct morning sunlight, but it's not a major issue as the unit cools down by the afternoon. N = Facing a cross junction is generally fine, although some believe it's not ideal. However, this superstition only applies to landed properties, not stack/units at T#XX or T#XX. On extremely windy days, remember to keep the windows closed to avoid any health or wealth issues. P = Lower floors may experience some traffic noise. Q = The Sikh Temple is visible if you look in that direction. R = The unit faces Kwong Wai Shiu Hospital. S = Adjacent to the plot is designated for future construction of high-rise residential buildings. T = Mr XXX belongs to the western group, while XXX belongs to the eastern group. Therefore, units with a T orientation are more suitable for Mr XXX. U = The kitchen located in the northwest can have an impact on the career luck of the male breadwinner, especially the stove. However, this can still be remedied. V = The wall of Stack TXX can be very bright in the afternoon, while in the morning it can be bright for Stack TXX. The wall of Stack XX can also be bright in the morning for Stack XX. W = It is advisable to avoid lower floors as the front of the stack faces the service road leading into the estate. Z = The Electrical Sub-Station is not particularly close to any of the stacks/units. The closest one is Kallang Breeze Stack K#XX, but it is still quite far away. Therefore, there is no concern for K#XX.

Past Ranking Exercise. Showing an A to Z considerations for a detailed ranking exercise. BY RANKING OF HDB KALLANG BREEZE AND TOWNER CREST ================================================= Note the alphabet at the front of the stack number : K = Kallang Breeze. While T = Towner Crest. For example KXX means Kallang Breeze Stack #XX 1ST CHOICE = KXXX TXX 2ND CHOICE = TXXQ 3RD CHOICE = KXXK TXXBS TXXB TXXPQ 4TH CHOICE = KXXJLU TXXV TXXAV TXXv 5TH CHOICE = KXXT KXX KXXAGT KXXGT TXXW TXXAB 6TH CHOICE = KXXADFKT KXXCDEU KXXBJLT KXXXXT KXXBLU LAST RESORT = KXXCDE KXXHKTZ KXXXXT TXXXXS LEGEND ====== For example: KXXAT = Kallang Breeze Stack #XX + Afternoon sun + Suitable facing for Mr XX. A = Afternoon sun at an angle throughout the year at the frontage of the unit. B = Expect afternoon sun soaking into shared wall with the master bedroom. As often, the heat may soak into the bedroom even at 6pm to 8pm onwards... C = Proximity to Common Rubbish Bin(s). For stack T#XX, this stack/unit shares the same wall as the two bins. stack KXX is very close to the common bins. While stack KXX has a view of the two bins. D = Expect some noise from the MRT tracks. For stack #XX (not so bad) but do expect some noise towards the rear of the unit. Good news is that hopefully the MSCP is a buffer for Kallang Breeze = which allows Block 20A's units to be further away from the MRT tracks. In addition, nowadays, train noise is lesser from newer trains. Plus often, some sound insulation panels are placed to further reduce train noise. However, often, expect more noise if the train brakes as it is near the station (towards Kallang MRT station) E = The MSCP at Kallang Breeze is 6 storeys high. Thus avoid purchasing units below 8th storey. F = Avoid low floors that have a view into the Precinct Pavilion. On some occassions during funerals/wakes expect chanting and rituals during these activities. For stack K#XX, try to get stacks at least 12 storeys or above (if possible). G = Open Drainage Reserve is not an issue for these stakcs/units. H = Low floors of Stack K#XX's master bedroom has a direct view of the existing Public Housing's Bin Centre. (Although it is the rear of the bin centre). The ESS is to the extreme right of this unit's master bedroom. J = Stack K#XX is just beside the Bus Bay. Those avoid low units for this stack. For Stack #XX often when the bus accerrates thus expect some bus noise also at the rear of K62. K = Low floors expect some traffic noise from Sims Way. L = Lorong 3 Geylang is a minor road thus generally do not have much traffic. But better get a higher floor unit if one does not like the slightest road noise or noise from bus(es) travelling along this road. M = Direct morning sun. But generally no issue with it. As by afternoon, the unit is no longer warm. N = No issue facing a cross junction. But on some occasions some say it is not ideal. However, they do not really know that it is only inauspicious if the home is a landed property. Where once in a million, a vehicle may plough into a landed home through the front gate. This is not possible for a stack/unit at T#XX or T#XX. Please note that even if there is no issue, there is also a stigma with some who felt that it is inauspicious to face such a cross-junction. On exceptional windy days, make sure that windows are closed. Else can affect health and wealth on these days. P = Low floors expect traffic noise. Q = Sikh Temple is visible if one turns towards it. R = Facing Kwong Wai Shiu Hospital S = Next to site reserved for future high-rise residential development. T = Mr XXX is a west group person. While XXX is an east group person. Stacks with a T are thus more suitable to Mr XXX. U = Kitchen at NW can affect Male breadwinner's career luck. Especially that of the stove. Can still be cured. V = Stack TXX's wall can be glaring in the afternoon for stack TXX. While Stack TXX's wall can be glaring for stack TXX in the morning. Stack XX's wall can also be glaring in the morning for stack XX. W = Avoid low floors as the stack's frontage faces the service road leading into the estate. Z = Electrical Sub-Station is not exactly close-by to any of the stacks/units. The closest is that of Kallang Breeze Stack K#XX. But really is still far away. Thus no concern for K#XX

HDB Tampines GreenVines BTO launched in May 2018
Cecil Lee replied to Cecil Lee's topic in Singapore Property Review
Past Ranking Exercise: Legends A to W shows the various considerations in a similar ranking exercise... BY RANKING OF 5 BEDROOMS AT TAMPINES GREENVINES =============================================== 1st Choice = XXXXX XXXX 2nd Choice = XXX XX XXXX 3rd Choice = XXX XXX XXX XXX XXX XXX 4th Choice = XXX XXXP XXX XXX XXX 5th Choice = XXXS 6th Choice = XXX XXXS 7th Choice = XXXS XXXK XXX 8th Choice = XXX XXXX 9th Choice = XXX XXX XXX XXX 1Oth Choice = XXXS XXX XX XX XXX XXX XX 11th Choice = XXX XXX XXX XXX XXX XXX Last Resort = XXXT XXXPS XXXXV XXXXT XXXPT XXXT XXXKT XXXX LEGEND ====== For example please read e.g. for stack #xxAS means refer to A and S below:- A = Afternoon sun all year round. Thus in the afternoon and early evening the home may be warm. For stack #2XXlow floors no issue. But higher floors may be affected by this. B = Afternoon sun may soak into the master bedroom wall. Sometimes in the evening when one feels the wall, one can feel the heat coming out from the wall. (Hopefully not). And hopefully do not ooze out at 7pm to 9 pm C = Close proximity to proposed new slip road means have to endure daily noisy traffic. Especially if the unit is at a low floor. Even higher floors.. may not be spared by the noisy traffic. Since this slip road is so close to the blocks. As Stack #xxx is also in close proximity to the slip road; most likely may also affected by the road noise as well especially for low floors. D = There is a stigma attached to a home e.g. #XX & #XX facing a T-junction. This is because in a landed property, should a vehicle go straight it can plough into the main gate of a home at e.g. ground floor #XX. But this is a high-rise building thus no issue. E = Stacks #XX, #XX, #XX, #XX, #XX, #XX are most exposed or very open. Wealth may be affected during strong windy days. Thus so long as during windy days, reduce the wind into the unit is good enough. F = Stack #XX's living room is sharing the same wall as the central rubbish bin. Not good Feng Shui as can affect luck for the family. G = No issue since this is only the morning sun. House will generally be cool as it is not affected by afternoon sun at all. H = Not Feng Shui. But some Chinese especially the Cantonese MAY not like a number 144 = Stack #144. Especially with the 44 meaning "die" "die". Some may also not like the number #04. But this is not Feng Shui. May or may not in the future affect resale value. K = Low floors expect some traffic noise. Given that these stacks do face the road. Higher floors preferred as less road traffic noise. L = #XXX is the closest to the Precinct Pavilion. Hardly can see the pavilion. Just that for low floors; should there be a wake and prayers or chants, especially the master bedroom area may hear it. Otherwise no issue. Safer to purchase a higher unit in this stack. M = There is a sharp corner from Block 641C stack #XX aimed towards Block 641A stack #XX & vice versa. Hopefully it is not aimed towards an opening such as a window. If so, can neutralise by installing a day curtain and leaving it closed most of the time. stack #XX has a poison arrow aimed towards stack #x and vice-versa. There is also a sharp corner from stack #xxx aimed towards stack #xxx. P = High floor at least #4 or above so that one can have an unobstructed view clearing the roof-top of Blocks 641 & 639 MSCP (multi storey car park). Plus avoiding lamp posts (if any) on the roof top. As such lamp posts, if slices into a unit's window is considered inauspicious. S = Mr & Mrs (Both) are considered as a "West Group" persons. Thus stacks facing NW, West, NE or SW are suitable to both partnerhim. Please note that this is not the most important consideration. Thus sometimes because of other considerations and weightage, even if these stacks suits Mr & Mrs; but can be ranked lower than stacks that are not as suitable to Mr & Mrs. T = These have their kitchen partially at NW. NW represents the male head (breadwinner) and luck from heaven. A stove can an affect male head's career and overall luck of the family = inauspicious. U = Stack #xx might be affected by strong winds blowing between neighbouring block 638B's stack #xx and stack #xx V = Electrical sub-station (ESS) near-by. Although there is no proof of the dangers of living close to an ESS, however there is a stigma that it is inauspicious. Therefore to be safe, best to avoid low floors of stack #xxx. In addition, stacks #xx and #xx are equally close-by to an ESS. While stack #46 is quite a distance away. But I have indicated as close-by to an ESS. W = Indirect view of the service yard of stack #xx and #xx. When often mobs and clothes are hung to dry. -
Sample past By Ranking of all Five (5) Bedrooms of HDB Yishun Glen BTO 1ST CHOICE = XXDXY XXXXXY XXXXHX XXXSX 2ND CHOICE = XXMY XXNXY 3RD CHOICE = XXBFXXTY 4TH CHOICE = XXMY XY 5TH CHOICE = XXX XXY 6TH CHOICE = XXY XXLY XXXY XXY 7TH CHOICE = XXXXDEX XXSX LAST RESORT = XXSY XCKY XXXXY XXXY XXXRSY A = Expect indirect afternoon sun [at an angle towards bedroom(s) and living room windows] depending on the month of year. B = Expect afternoon sun soaking into the master bedroom wall. Often on a hot day the heat may ooze out of the master bedroom wall. C = High floors preferred for most stacks. Although the stack XXX is not facing the Precinct Pavilion (PP); high floor is best to avoid "chanting and prayers" in the event of a wake/funeral is carried out at the PP. For #XXX & #XXX no issue. Unless one peer out at an acute angle towards the Blk XXX PP D = High floors is preferred especially at least 7th storeys or higher. As the stack/unit has no view of the bus stop. However, the bus stop is in close proximity. Thus expect bus engine noise. E = Facing vacant land for future high-rise residental development. Good for now that the stack/unit facings clear space or opening. But later on may have to endure around 2 to 3 years of construction noise. As well as not sure (cross fingers) that the new development's block corner does not become a pointed corner aimed towards an opening of the unit #XXXX and #XXX. Currently or for now has clear space or can see as far as the fringe of HDB Yishun Riverwalk. F = High floors preferred to avoid traffic noise. G = Facing the rear of existing housing Block 388. Here, can often see clothes/underwear/bra/towels etc hang to dry. H = Entry / Exit at Yishun Avenue 6: J = Generally no issue with looking at the green roof of 1-Storey Child Care Centre. No issue for stack #50. As only from an acute angle than can see this roof-line. K = Inauspicious kitchen at NW. Can affect Male breadwinner's career and overall family luck. L = Main door directly (at a slight angle) facing a LONG corridor. Inauspicious as this is considered as a Sha Qi. M = High floors often at least 9 storeys and above, to avoid facing into the MSCP car park. N = On occasions if the unit becomes too or extremely windy; best to close the windows to avoid loss of wealth and health issues. Otherwise, on normal days, no issue. P = Potential Poison arrow from #44 aimed towards #60; #832 aimed towards #874; #818 aimed towards #828; Unable to tell exactly where the sharp corner is aimed at. If it is aimed towards the living room window(s); harder to cure. Q = Facing the corridor and the windows/main entrace of existing HDB housing block 389 R = Unit NEAR-BY to the two rubbish chutes. Not an issue. As it is not like the main door is facing the rubbih chutes. Just that it is the closest amongst all other units to the rubbish chutes. S = Main door is facing a stair-case. Fortunately, by law, the staircase door has to be closed at all times. If so, not an issue unless the door is left opened all the time. For information only. While for stacks/units #XX & #XXX it is sharing the same wall as these two units. Again no issue. T = Currently has a commanding view of the open space and for high floors, even the Sungei (river) Kranji. But may only be temporary as the vacant plot has been earmarked for future High-rise residental development. X = Frontage is suitable to both Mdm XXX& XXXX who are West Group persons Y = Frontage is suitable to XXXX who is an East Group

Some of the considerations under Can or Cannot Buy Ranking exercise: BY RANKING OF PARC ESTA THREE BEDROOMS ======================================== 1ST CHOICE = XXX XX XXX 2ND CHOICE = XXX XXAX 3RD CHOICE = XXX XXXFG XXXCDG 4TH CHOICE = XXX XXX 5TH CHOICE = XXXD XXXXD XXXD XXXD XXD XXACD XXACD XXCD LAST RESORT = XXDE XXT 2XX XXDX HOW TO READ THE ABOVE: For example: XXA means Stack #XX + A = Afternoon sun at a slight angle... LEGEND: A = Afternoon sun at a slight angle for the whole year. Except for non-sunny days. For stacks XX & XX very slight afternoon sun (at an acute angle) evey six months = generally not an issue. B = Afternoon sun soaks into the master bedroom wall. And depending on the wall insulation, may ooze out in the evening even up to 8pm. C = Expect some MRT train noise. Unless the development uses sound absorbing balcony ceiling baffles and/or MRT uses the newer less noisy trains and/or noise reduction shields on the tracks. There will still be MRT trains braking noise as the train needs to stop at Eunos Station. D = High floors above 8th and above is preferred to avoid traffic noise either at Sims Avenue or Changi Road E = High floors preferred for stack #04 as it is directly facing the Guard Room, Entry and Exit to the development and the Pedestria Side Gate. Usually, this stack/unit is the last to be sold. F = Expect noisy kids and children especially during weekends and public holidays. As the unit is in close proximity to water jets, kids' water playground kids' party pavilion, children's playgound. Often high floors also is pretty noisy when kids play, shout and scream. If don't like such noise, then skip stacks/units, here. If don't mind, then look at rankings for these stacks especially stack #XX. G = Less privacy as next door HDB Blocks xxx and xxx has a side view of these stacks. T = Tennis court. Prefer high floor to avoid the noise coming from the tennis court during use. M = Stack #XX is closest to the Muslim Mosque. While stack #xx can have visible view of the mosque although that one has to "turn to the left to see it".
