  1. These are further considerations: 1. The width of the main door. You mentioned that your current door is 3.5ft or 41 inches. Yes, this is very auspicious (Yang Feng Shui Ruler measurement). 2. Here do take note that for the living (Yang Feng Shui Ruler measurements) : the range exactly between 41 inches to 44 inches is great. 2.1. As the door frame of such a home normally is not 1 inches thick; thus may have to skip the part where both the door opening + door frame are overall auspicioius. 2.2 As the range of auspiciousness is between 41 inches to 43 inches. (Actually can still be 40 inches or 3.4ft but 3.4ft as an opening is less auspicious than 3.5ft). 3. As for the height; it would be good if the height is either 75 inches or 77 inches (or between 75 to 77 inches in height) where the optimium is 75 or 77 inches. Other than this height will be close to 7ft. The next best range is 83 inches to 85.5 inches. 3.1 Please take note that 78 inches to 82 inches is considered inauspicious. If not sure, refer to Para 3, above. 4. Further to the above; sometimes, there is a reason for keeping the existing main door "small". 4.1. A smaller door is less of a target "for an external threat". As opposed to large panels of see-thru sliding glass doors x2. 4.2. If the opening is large; make sure that it does not open directly towards the back of the home. For example, the bigger the opening; 4.3. As mentioned previously; can affect the eldest child being unable to get married.
  2. These are some of the considerations: 1. Contrary to whatever belief that one has; it does not mean that it is considered inauspicious to have main gates of "properties" be it one large or huge facing a puny or tiny next door building that may not be that large. 2. Don't ever be mistaken that this equate e.g. a BIG fat mouth trying to swallow a SMALLer piece of land or building. Nothing of this sort! 3. In fact, one plus point in such an arrangement is that there will be little or no likelyhood of the REAL threat such as a lone lamp-post or a sign post or even a tree trunk from the opposite side "sliding" towards one's main gate area. 4. Although shifting the main gate has certain advantages;if the main road or service road is narrow; having main gates not directly facing each other; here is a plus point, no doubt about it. 6. If you really want to change the main gate; then you should also follow the guideline, below. The guideline is universal and also applies to make sure that if one changes the main gate entrance area; it also does not get affected by external threats. http://www.geomancy.net/wiki/Poison_Arrows 7. Generally, if you love to move your main gate to the middle; one has to remember to check on the above concerns as well as how the flow traffic flow from the main road towards the interior property as well as "shapes and forms" with regards to where is the main entrance of the building. 8. Based on Shapes and Forms Feng Shui; best that the main gate does not open directly towards themain entrance (office main walk-thru area) to the warehouse building. 9.1 As mentioned, if the main gate is opened all the time; the main entrance may be vulnerable to what could be facing it.. any form of poison arrow(s) be it again a tree trunk on the opposite side of the road or a lamp post or a street sign or even any other pointed roofts of the other neighbour. 10. Sometimes; one may/could/should think of this maxim "If it ain't broken, don't, fit it". 11. You can read up an example of how sometimes changing the main gate MAY affect the way rain-fall drains off the property of your building / site / land:- http://www.geomancy.net/wiki/Want_to_build_your_dream_home%3F 12. Again, in the above link, you will notice that it is an example of a landed property. And for each site; drainage out of the property at the wrong location may have dire consequences. 13. In conclusion: if the main gate has been shifted to the middle of the property; and even if there are no immediate threats today facing the new main gate; but what about the future? If suddenly a street lamp or signage comes up? Does it mean that one has to continously monitor the situation or one day simply forget to do so...? In such a situation; perhaps your "David's" main gate facing a "Goliath or King Kong's" main gate ain't that bad rite?
  3. These are further considerations: 1. By considering having sliding doors; the main concern is that since the doors are made of glass; it is "transparent". And could or may be exposed to any external threats (if any). 2. Prior to considering installing the sliding doors; try to make sure that when standing inside the home looking outwards; one should not be seeing any lone lamp post or tree trunk or even neighbour's triangular roof aimed towards the sliding doors area. 3. To understand more about or what is or not poison arrows in relation to what I had mentioned; you can review this information:- http://wiki.geomancy.net/wiki/Poison_Arrows 4. The best is to look at the attached caricature showing how one should stand inside a house looking out for such threats..
  4. These are some considerations: 1. You did not mentioned whether your home is an apartment or a landed property. 2. However, from your message; one may/could/should deduce that you own a landed property. If so:- 2.1. Just imagine the full surface area of the frontage of the ground floor. If an opening is greater than 50 percent of the entire ground floor frontage; and assuming that it is opened all the time; and this area is equal to 50 percent of the entire frontage; then most likely the eldest child would not get married. 2.2. For example, if the frontage has a wooden door and sliding doors: and if one frequently opens any or combined total equal to or 50 percent of the entire frontage; then refer to Para 2.1. 3. Traditionally, it would be nice-to have a door at the frontage e.g. wooden door open INWARDS. and traditionally; at the back of the home; if there is a wooden door; this wooden door should open inwards. (If there is no wooden door at the back; and just a grille gate; then this remains neutral. But if there is a wooden door behind the house; it should open INWARDS also. 4. It is difinitely `Nice-to' have the wooden door open inwards have auspicious Feng Shui ruler measurements. 4.1. In fact, from the 1960's to 1979; all the main entrance doors of all government Housing Board Flats "coincidentally" follow the auspicious Feng Shui ruler dimensions. In fact, the opening and even the door frames register very auspicious measurements. In my opinion; because of religious issues and that Singapore is multi-racial; this fact is never widely made public. 5. As for glass door; still can have glass door or sliding doors without an actual wooden door that opens inwards. Majority of landed property homes can "sustain such" a consideration. And it is more difficult to apply the concept of the auspicious Feng Shui ruler dimensions to such sliding doors. 6. The only consideration of sliding door(s) is that often it is to the "side" of the home e.g. when one drives into the home; this area is most likely the windows; and the sliding doors are to the side of the home. In doing so; if one has a reasonable fencing e.g. brick wall etc.. it would be protected against such things as a lone lamp post or a tree truck "slicing" towards the glass area. 7. Wooden doors are different. It is not transparent and even if there is a poison arrow in the form of a tree trunk or a lamp post or a neigbhour's pointed roof; it is more of a safer bet against such poison arrow or sha qi.
  5. 1. Please refer to the attachedillustration. 2. Based on the Practical view on how to apply the hours in the Chinese system; 3. The rat hour will always be a rat hour distinct from the DAY module. 4. Thus, if one is born on 6th February between 2300HRS to 2359HRS; this is still the RAT hour. And 0000HRS to 0100HRS on 7th February is still the RAT hour except born on a different day. 5. The test of a system is to ask as many people what they think. Logically, most of us find this "practical view" more sensible than the extremist view. As I mentioned; look at the HOUR system as a separate MODULE from the DAY system. It is clearly illustrated in the attachment. 6. Of course, there are "extremists" out there who thinks otherwise. I am only trying to state the facts, here and it has more to do with commonsense.
  6. 1. Please note that the Chinese Hour is based on TWO hourly timings. 2. Thus, it is a "repetitive" model e.g. 11 to 1, 1 to 3, 3 to 5, 5 to 7,7 to 9, 9 to 11. Be it for am or pm. (Starting from odd numbers = yang) 3. Thus it can be said to be 11, 3, 5, 7, 9 and loops back to 11. 4. In addition, there are only TWELVE (12) Zodiac signs and in a 24 hour time frame. Thus Each zodiac sign must occupy one of the TWO hours. Logic says that the rat, being the first animal sign must start at some timing e.g. 11am. 5. Therefore, anyone born between 11am to 1pm or 11pm to 1am is considered as born in the RAT hour. Thus, these hours are definitely not belong to the OX = 1 to 3 or the PIG = 9 to 11. Ref: http://lovesigns.net 6. There are TWO Schools of thoughts with regards to which day one is born in for those on this borderline of 11PM TO 1PM. 6.1. THE EXTREMIST VIEW 6.1.1 Some Geomancers use this extremist VIEW and consider anyone born between 11pm to 2pm as belonging to the "earlier" period: born on 6th February instead of 7th February. 6.1.2 As the description suggests; some practise this but in my opinion; not the most popular view. 6.2. THE PRACTICAL VIEW 6.2.1 Many of us instinctively feel and also see on our birth certificate that we are born e.g. 0001HRS onwards on a 7th February. Thus, it is very hard for a lay person to want to use 6th February instead of 7th February in this example. 6.2.2 Frankly, there is nothing wrong to "split-up" the TWO Hours into virtual time-zones. For example: 2300HRS TO 2359HRS on a 6th Feburary and then 0000HRS onwards to 1259HRS. This is perfectly fine! As ain't both still belong to the RAT hour? 6.2.3 Thus the HOUR field is a separate module from the DAY field!
  7. These are further considerations: 1. Attached, please find a mind-map that I had just drawn to show the relationship between the two major concepts that are widely applied to Feng Shui today. 2. There is an interesting link between the Flying Star Feng Shui and Ba Zi to the Five Elements concept. The plus point of the Five Elements Concept is that as it is the lowest common denominator; it is like the glue that binds both Flying Star and Ba zi. 3. Today, the key success factor of the Compass School of Feng Shui (Eight House and Flying Star) is it's accountability: based on one's Year of Birth. How to get this wrong? Even if it is say wrongly calculated; anyone can double-check the calculations. The Compass School of Feng Shui became highly popular with DIY enthusiasts around 1980's onwards. 4. Frankly, in the past around the 1930s even till today; before the advent of the knowledge of Para 3; Ba Zi and Ba Zi Feng Shui was widely used. But the main drawback is that often no two masters get the same answers - all the time! Prior to the internet age, who cares! No-body even know that you got it wrong! Today, with free access; and tons of sites; everything changes here. 5. A practical approach, therefore is based on the attached model. And one of the critical usage is at the "final stage" of analysis i.e. a sector or e.g. a bedroom. If the individual is suppose to sleep in that room and he is a weak water person; then this info is looked at in relation to the Flying Star chart of that room (sector) to fine tune the analysis and recommendations for that room (sector).
  8. This signage says: "BEST STALL FOR RENT" If this STALL is so great; why is it being abandoned by a previous stall-holder or owner??? Note: This food-court is in the NorthLink Building; 10 Admiralty Street. This industrial building alone has at least four food-courts.
  9. Please see attachment. Note the Hour of Birth frame...
  10. Mind your language? ACTUAL Signage says: "Camera in Surveillance" Should this sign be changed to: " Surveillance Camera in Operation?" P.S. Location: Jurong Point Shopping Complex Annex
  11. Government's Asset Enhancement Scheme 1. Photos taken@ Teck Whye Lane showing a block of flat in the process of installing several lift shafts to ensure that each unit can be reached by a lift. 2. Formerly, such a block has a central lift and the lifts often only stops at staggered floors e.g. 1, 3, 6, 9, 11 floors. 3. One good thing about the lifts to every unit is to allow the elderly and allow for wheel-chair friendly access. 4. Previously this government asset enhancement scheme was a "carrot" used during every elections (in the past): "if you don't vote for me; you don't get such an upgrading". Many believe;in the 2016 elections; thisis no longer a carrot nor a stick. Ain't going to work anymore! Note: The block that is currently being upgraded was built in 1979.
  12. These are some considerations: 1. The photos show "POTENTIAL" sha qi's especially if it is close-by to an apartment - window. 2. Most importantly, one has to be inside an apartment (flat) or unit e.g. on a 2nd storey unit to see if any of the fins of the roof slices into the unit. Or whether does it aim towards the unit (openings). 3. Thus potential means; it is not "there yet" but just maybe.
  13. Another eminent warning about buying useless Fung Sway products! This warning comes in the Four official Singapore Languages: 1. English 2. Mandarin 3. Tamil 4. Malay When the buying STOPS! The selling CAN!
  14. In my opinion, in general; it should be ok.
  15. These are further considerations: 1. Your homework reminds me of some of my clients who also work out similar type of Flying Star charts and sending me a powerpoint with all the info of say a complete condo development and the units they were aiming at 2. Frankly, it is rare to find a "perfect" home. Often even if one wants to built a home; many times; it can be CLOSE to perfect but still there could be some constraints that make it not as perfect; but as mentioned close to it. 3. Contrary to popular belief; In theory; if one were to ask: Which is the most powerful or best concept to use; it has to be BAZI Feng Shui. 3.1. Thus, between Bazi Feng Shui or the Compass School of Feng Shui; which again technically should come FIRST? 3.2. On paper; Ba Zi Feng Shui should be taking the lead. Why? 3.3. Look at the lowest common denominator: 3.3.1 Ba Zi Feng Shui is derived from Ba Zi which uses: DD; MM; YY; HH: plus House of Life and House of Conception to derive a full bazi chart with it's various interactions of Harms/Conflics/Punishment. 3.4. While under the Compass School of Feng Shui: Eight House and even Flying Star is based purely on just the YEAR. Be it Eight House or Flying star; these two needs only the YEAR of birth to derive an "answer". 4. How come Ba Zi Feng Shui is more accurate but yet not as popular as the Compass School of Feng Shui: Eight House + Flying Star? 5. By default; Shapes and Forms will always be the FIRST consideration. 5.1 Ba Zi Feng Shui is often difficult to interact seamlessly with the Eight House and Flying Star. This is evident in the sample House Hunting report that I had provided. 5.2 The "problem" with Ba zi does not lie with Ba Zi itself but rather with the people or humans that try to work out all the variables and try to come out with the result! Here-in lies the problem! 5.3 Many of us are not aware of how or simply don't know how to calculate ba zi. While it is a no brainer if one can't work backwards one's eight house chart or Gua number or derive a Flying Star chart. 5.4 It is this accountability or so called non-accountability of Ba zi that is an issue. Ba zi is simply put: either you get it correct or get it wrong. No in-between. For example: there is a vast difference between a WEAK fire person vs a STRONG fire person. 5.5 Go take a look at this link:- http://forum.geomancy.net/phpforum/article.php?bid=2&fid=2&mid=23906&new= 6. There are so many ways that a ba zi chart may differ between geomancers and ba zi calculators. And it is not easy to sit down and try to convince say a client that this chart vs that chart is correct. 6.1 For example: a client comes back and says; he had got the same results from e.g. two different sites but why Geomancy.net's chart is different? 6.2 To some; just because two or more other sites may reflect the same result; they assume that the site that gives the "wrong" answer has to be wrong. For example if all two or three sites only do a quick analysis using the DD/MM/YY/HH but missed out on House of Life and House of Conception or they use the Hsia or Xia li calendar for convenience as the days of a month based on this calendar may be fixed and unlike the lunar calendar, can be one or two days more or less in any month. Etc.. 7. Thus because of the accountability issue; this could be the main reason why the Compass School of Feng Shui: Eight House and Flying Star (not including the Shapes and Forms) is so popular today. 8. For us; we know what is the issue behind ba zi and it's calculations: what to look out for etc.. But; if a client comes back and doubt us; as mentioned under para 6.1. - you can only ask the client to trust your "brand" vs other brands - that's all. 9. Sorry for the distraction. What you had mentioned in my opinon is fundamentally sound. Based on my earlier quote and your further elaboration.
  16. This link has some resources on protusions and/or missing corners:- http://www.geomancy.net/resources/theories/fs-building.htm
  17. 1. As mentioned previously, the House Hunting report is a macro overview. The purpose of the report is simply to quicky narrow down to specific choices especially for those buying or trying to buy a virgin unit or apartment in a condo or a public housing development. 2. It is a good thing that once the above stage is done; can plot a flying star chart. 3. But the key essence is still Shapes and Forms Feng Shui. As I had mentioned previously: one can do without flying star Feng Shui chart but still need to survive on Shapes and forms Feng Shui. 4. In another recent forum message; I had link a message to the ranking based on Flying Star facing directions. You said: "PS I just read some other posts and learned that N facing houses/apartments in period 8 are "the last last resort". Is that the case even if I'm weak water?"
  18. Feng Shui like any other fields has to go thru something like this:- http://forum.geomancy.net/wiki/Feng_Shui_Triage Frankly, without finding the root cause of the problem; it is like barking up the wrong tree.
  19. These are some considerations: 1. Take a look at the attached photo. Although this photo is from a shop-store located in a shopping complex. 2. From the photo; one can obviously see lots of items and even fallen pieces of paper all over the place. 3. Thus, based on "commonsense" think hard before one replaces a kitchen wall or even a study room wall with glass. 3.1. By installing glass panels; one has to make sure that the specific room or kitchen has to be extremely, extremely tidy! 3.2. Furthermore; if lots of glass is used; the joints need to be considered. In this sample shop-store; the joints of the glass seems to "slice" thru the counter girl's "image". This is not ideal. 4. I had come across many youngsters who don't really consider such things; why spent more money to knock down solid walls (that can hide things e.g. in a kitchen; there are lots of unsightly items like knifes and often; the kitchen leads to the yard.. where some even hang undies and bras etc... So why spent money unwisely? 5. To sum up: Looking at the photo: Doesn't it look UNTIDY?
  20. These are some of the considerations: 1. Assuming most of us have a working life-span of 40 to 50 years; most of us only get to see or experience an actual change of qi 2 or the most 3 times of such an occurrence in our life. (Flying star qi changes every 20 years). 1.1. Thus, frankly, best to take a pinch of salt if anyone in the entire Feng Shui world or internet can be that accurate in saying that if one follows such and such a procedure; the success rate if high! 1.2. In fact, as mentioned under Para 1; even amongst Geomancers; it is considered like all talk or theoritical / symbolic how to change to a new period qi. 2. Thus, to be honest; many of us geomancers can't be said to have or be said to be highly specialised in this field. 2.1. For example; for quite many years; Hong Kong and Singapore geomancers do share the same experience(s). That of high density high rise living. And naturally, we do see more of or conduct more Feng Shui audits in this area than say a geomancer in Malaysia, Indonesia or Taiwan. 3. Two schools of thoughts regarding change: 3.1. One school fo thought says that especially for high rise buildings; especially the foundation still remains with the old period. And for an apartment or flat in such a building; it is considered as an uphill task to change to a new period. Given that the "roof" is fixed; etc.. etc.. 3.2. The second school of thought believes in symbolism: As you had mentioned; some of the things need to change to the new period. 4. In my opinion; the higher success rate goes more to landed properties. Especially when they knock down the shell or change nearly everything; the main door; windows; actual roofing and more. As for flats or apartments; the success-rate is much like what has been mentioned under Para 3.1. and the most meaningful term here is "a truly uphill task". 4.1. If one has the time i.e. a DIYer; do plot out two flying star charts and logically monitor from there.
  21. Lion figurines are very popular for the homes, office, factories, temples and just any building frontage or main gate pillars.
  22. This is another design of the same concept: Three Leaf Grille Gates. Photos were taken at the Clementi Hub (Blk 441) of flats. It has a very simple rectangularish design. This design does not have the bottom covered.
  23. 1. Based on your most recent description; there don't seem to be any threat from the tall building (or condo). 2. Frankly, the concept of "You stay there; we don't" or "Someone stays there; we don't applies!" 2.1. Thus, please put on the "thinking cap" or alternatively apply Commonsense (or cow-sense) Fung Sway: "Whyinthe hell do we want to place an irritating piece of wind chime in our bedroom?".Frankly, no offense; it simply makes no sense; at all. 2.2. On the contrary; from a Feng Shui point of view; look-here:`a wind chime' is not the only mother of all Feng Shui tools: there can be sucha thing as a silent objectsuch as those conVEX mirror sort of thing. But, please, don't go to those car-parks or supermarkets and go steal one of those 1/2 metre long conVEX mirror. Nevermind ifone's face issplashed on the newspaper! What is worse is; no longer sleep in that luxurioushome-bed.... 3. Please note that conVERSE to Para 2.2. other tools include a conCAVE mirror. One must understand the difference between the two. In some instances; a conCAVE mirror is used to capture a good view. 4. Morale of the story is: "Best to understand all the tools of the `trade' before commiting to just one single tool or becoming myopic in some sort of way."
  24. These are some considerations: 1. For sure, most of us would definitely say that roof tops in the immediate vicinity i.e. those belonging to low level homes or buildings are no threat. 2. As for the towering apartment blocks; they are quite a distance away. This is a plus point. 2.1. As to whether there is a poison arrow of the roof (perhaps shaped like a triangle or not); the photos looks unclear of the roof area - whether it is pointing towards INTO the bedroom is also unclear. 2.2. The photo is taken from "top down" instead of parallel to the window opening; as such can't tell whether it pose a threat or not. "A threat is where; say the roof top has a triangular piece facing directly towards the opening (windows) of the room where the photo was taken from. 3. Thus good effort but; photo can't tell the exact situation.
