  1. 1. In my opinion, a solid brass compass; Low-tech but accurate. 2. Photo shows the solid brass compass + I had added a good quality Protractor below it. The purpose of this protractor is to determine a degree up at 1 degree increments. 3. Thus, this is a combined compass + protractor add-on. 4. I had this set-up for many years. And one can even see the yellowish aging of the protractor. Previously, it was clear-white. 5. I will be using this especially @ The Brownstone EC
  2. Two moments that makes me proud to be a Singaporean:- 1. Holding my passport and entering another country with it. 2. The other? Even in some obscure lonely lane; Feeling of safe + secure..
  3. Part 3: The Palette @ Pasir Ris shares a similar but much friendlier Art-deco design of the use of similar materials
  4. Many beliefs, many gods... If you have seen nearly all the gods that people pray, this one may just get you stumped! Location: Balam Rd / Circuit Road
  5. Looks like The Godfather pizza is still alive and kicking.. An innovative way of repurposing used CDs tied ... to scare away the birds
  6. Growing bamboo trees on a balcony Certain trees are not appropriate at one's apartment balcony. For example; bamboo trees need as much height as possible. In this photo, the trees have even exceeded the height of the owners balcony ceiling. It is dangerous to trim the trees now. Even if the upper floor neighbour gave them permission to do so. Cannot also image the amount of falling leaves to neighbors below...
  7. These are some considerations: 1. My main concern was hopefully, the units do not land between a N1 or a NW3 and correspondingly it is not between a S1 and SE3. 2. Thus if the individual block / stack /unit can be confirmed as belonging to either a distinct Flying star direction e.g. N1 or S1; then the "norm" applies. 3. To confirm whether it is a N1 / NW3? for example; one should best use a good compass. For example I mentioned a solid brass one or 3.1. I just checked the website one.map.sg On the bottom right corner of their map they have mentioned " data.gov.sg " And this should be the defector standard to confirm the compass direction if Para 3 above fails to provide an accurate reading. 4. By reading your message; you are quite certain that the blocks / stacks are aligned N1 or S1. 4.1. As I mentioned in an earlier thread; I have to go down individually and to the specific block to confirm the readings. It does not technically means that taking a reading of one block means that it applies to all others. Sometimes the builder align each block just a little bit off from others. 4.2. The naked eye cannot detect such deviations. Here, even Para 3.1. need to be looked carefully or individually - as per Para 4.1 above. 5. If a layout falls within e.g. N1 or S1; then:- The Concept of Maximizing Marks or other concepts applied:- http://www.geomancy.net/wiki/The_Concept_of_Maximizing_Marks
  8. In addition, under Shapes and Forms Feng Shui it is not ideal for Type D1 bedroom 4 to be sandwiched between two toilets/wcs. See attachment
  9. For info, the forum reviews are basic and an overview. Frankly what you mentioned is beyond the advice of the forum.
  10. Non-threatening structure which is the clubhouse cum function room on the left of the photo vs the Coutyard platform on the left.
  11. Feng Shui non-friendly structures... these Pavillion... Looks stylish but can be potential poison arrows
  12. Time of birth can be given between: 1 to 3; am or pm 3 to 5; am or pm 5 to 7; am or pm 7 to 9; am or pm 9 to 11 am or pm For example:- Cannot be between 2pm to 5pm thus should be either:- [ ] 1pm to 3pm or [ ] 3pm to 5pm
  13. 1. Can or cannot buy is to determine which stacks are better or ranked in that order. 2. Thus the review will show ranking:- a. 1st Choice = stack #03 b. 2nd Choice = stack #02 c. 3rd Choice = stack #05. 3. After which one may use this to find out which unit-level is better:- http://www.geomancy.net/reports/reports-list/hselist-houseno.htm (Overall, this has lesser weightage than a better stack). Hope that helps. Free report:-
  14. 1. Please see attachment. 1.1 Red arrow points to stack #2 1.2 Yellow arrow points to stack #12 2.1 The above are considered as stacks in a block. 3. Compass School Feng Shui = East or West Group person relies only on a. Year of birth and b. Gender. 4. However if it is combined with Ba zi Feng Shui then on occasions one's element can change. 5. Thus time of birth is considered as "Nice-to" have. Frankly if really don't have then leave it.
  15. Part 2: The Alps Residences at Tampines Avenue 10 - These flat roof-lines are also potential poison arrows if there are no trees between it and the block/stack/unit. 1. The distance between it and the block/stack/unit should also be taken into consideration when considering whether it is a poison arrow or not. 2. Looks like for this development, be extra careful (if any) of especially purchasing what looks like 2nd storey units, here
  16. Part 1A: The Alps Residences at Tampines Avenue 10 & the court-yard roof line is really Feng Shui unfriendly as it has so many "spikes/spines" The test to stand inside a unit's balcony and bedrooms and look out directly to assess whether a home is affected by a poison arrow or not...
  17. Part 1: The Alps Residences at Tampines Avenue 10 & roof-lines of the ancillary buildings/trellis 1. The roof-lines of the ancillary buildings / trellis at The Alps Residences is considered unfriendly. 2. Please see attachment. 2.1. For building "A" which is the club-house cum function room; the building is very close to a particular block/stack. 2.2. I have highlighted in yellow a unit at 2nd storey that may have a potential poison arrow aimed towards it from the club-house roof-line. 2.3. There is another trellis court-yard. Which I had marked in red as "B". This court-yard is also close to a block/stack/unit. Thus it may be a potential sha qi or poison arrow depending on whether there are trees between it and this court-yard. (I have not actually studied the full layout. Thus if this court-yard building is not aimed towards a unit; then no issue.) 3. If there are trees with large foliage between either building A and the block/stack/unit; then this may also not be an issue.
  18. Bedok Residences Condo and Flying Star Feng Shui 1. Once a while the North compass marking on the sales brochure and the streetdirectory or onemap.sg map; the sales brochure North marking may be inaccurate. 2. I took the liberty of comparing both the streetdirectory and sales brochure for Bedok Residences and both confirm that they are within either the Flying Stars N1 or S2 facing directions. 3. If one is interested in buying a new stack/unit; always try to confirm this with a streetdirectory be it a paper version or web-based directory. 3.1 Even if the block outline has not been drawn on the streetdirectory, one is sure to be able to find an appropriate direction for non-complicated site-plans such as this one (Bedok Residences).
  19. Bedok Residences Condo and Flying Star Feng Shui The majority of stacks/units in this development face either Flying Stars Period 8 N1 or S1 directions. N1 has the auspicious double 8s at it's frontage. Good if the frontage has a water position. Thus most auspicious stacks are #33, #34, #35, #40, #41 and #43. Good if the master bedroom is located at NE sector. As it has good auspicious star combinations of MS#6 + WS#1. If a bedroom is located at East is good for a bedroom cum study. The rest of other sectors has inauspicious stars. And may need to be disarmed. S1. Such as stacks #03, #04, #05, #09, #10, #11. The combined auspicious wealth stars MS#8 + WS#8 are at the "rear" of the unit. Such a waste as usually this is the kitchen & yard area. It will be good if a bedroom is located at East sector: good for studies. If the main entrance is located at NE, this will be excellent as there are good combinations of MS#1 with WS#6 in this sector.
  20. Bedok Residences Condo, mounting a TV set on a wall (solid concrete or dry wall) and common sense. 1. Please see sample attachment layout type PH10. 2. In this illustration, the TV console was (purposely) mirrored to the same wall as bedroom 4. 3. Based on the layout; one can tell that the wall between the living room and bedroom 4 should be "solid" as in concrete/pre-cast wall instead of dry wall. Therefore, there is reduced concern of mounting a TV on the wall and emf radiation if any leaking out onto the other side i.e. towards bedroom 4. 4. If one does not intend to place a bed-head as shown in the sample of bedroom 4; then the above + especially a dry wall would not apply.
  21. Bedok Residences Condo, the layout of the kitchen and common sense. 1. Please take a look at this kitchen layout plan. 2. Although the sink and stove should be "separate" or rather kept at a distance e.g. of around 60 cm if they are on one straight line; 3. In this layout = PH11; what was observed that the stove and sink are on separate islands. In theory this is good or excellent. 4. In this kitchen, just imagine after cooking and how one has to sometimes bring e.g. the wok for washing. This layout does not offer good flow. 5. Some owners have a habit of removing the kitchen door or changing it to a sliding door. Or for example, placing a "barn" type of door at the exterior wall of the kitchen. 5.1. One has to be extra careful when doing so. Due to common sense, as the stove is just at the edge of the kitchen opening; on a windy day; wind depending on where it blows from may be a safety hazard. 5.2. For example: if a person or child were to walk into the kitchen and if strong winds blow air towards the opening; then it can be dangerous. 5.3. If say, strong winds were to blow in from the kitchen (and it is a sliding door or no door at all); then the wind vortex may blow hot air to the person standing at the front of the stove. 6. There is a danger of "flame-out" at the stove especially if a regular gas stove is used. This would not occur with an electric stove or induction type.
  22. If you have the time, please go through this thread:- 1. Why some geomancers use the front door as the frontage 2. While the rest consider standing e.g. inside the living room looking out of the apartment. 2.1. The key success factor or rationale for finding the facing direction is to facilitate the use of Flying Stars to best understand the qi (chi) of the unit. And the key to this is to find the most "yang" qi sector of the home (facing direction) from where one can plot the relevant flying stars onto it.
