  1. In the mid-1970's; I recalled one day going around Singapore and every where; one sees this teaser: " I FOUND IT!" And later, most of us found out that it was a teaser for a "Christian Advertisment". Today, instead, many found : Feng Shui! Hahaha!
  2. This article shows the Feng Shui trend from 1980's till today:- http://forum.geomancy.net/phpforum/article.php?bid=2&fid=6&mid=26971&new= Always remember: "YOU stay there!, WE (Geomancers) don't!"
  3. Further to what I had mentioned, earlier:- Anonymous wrote: , not to use the room or door AT ALL for the year? Can this be right? 1. Next time, If someone tells you the above; tell him/her: "If you stop eating and drinking (any form of water or liquid) for the next 7 days, I will certainly believe in you". 2. I awaysconsider this maxim of mine:"I stay here, YOU (the Geomancer -Don't!)"
  4. 1. In the past, everyone happily go about doing their business without any cares or concern about the yearly movement of the Five Yellow. 2. Why is it that nowadays, some of us are so frankly - overeacting on such an issue? 3. Many Geomancers unfortunately don't follow this maxim: " We stay there, you don't " In the past, I had always mentioned that Geomancers or would be Geomancer(s) must take on responsibilities; 4. Most Geomancers often without thinking or finding better alternatives go for the easy way out. As I mentioned above, we are staying in this home for "Heaven's sake!" 5. Some Geomancer don't care! They just come to your home for say a hour and an half or two; give some advice and go off. 6. And the client becomes the "depository" of all the advice and because they hired the Geomancer, they had no choice but to try to follow the instruction(s). "You are not to use the master toilet" HuH? What is this a joke or what? 7. There are two sides of the coin: Those that listen to such Geomancers and those that follow; is really pityful. 8. Feng Shui does not only revolve within the four walls of each home; neither does it revolve around the kitchen, family room, office etc.... alone. 9. Most earth homes are categorically safe; for example, if we look at the parallelof cars: Most homes would easily attain an Euro NCAP safety of between 3 to 4 stars at least. And some homes even have quantum leap that is equivalent of the safest standard i.e. Euro NCAP 5 stars. 10. So, the logic, here is that a Euro NCAP 4 or 5 star car(s) can suddenly become only 1 star grade? 11. Take another example; as a Geomancer myself, I don't go around every year analysing my home in relation to where the "hell" is the Five Yellow etc... what I do is when I buy a home: find the best home and in terms of Flying Star say for the 2004 to 2023; get a home with double auspicious #8's at the frontage. And this is often one of the highest weightage, possible. And activate say a water position .. that's all. Where got such thing as this year; that year; chase after the "five yellow" etc....
  5. 1. In my opinion, what you are asking is very "academic". 2. And frankly, there will be no end to arguments for or against one method or another. 3. In my opinion, as I have lots of clients; some have previously had earlier consultations with other practitioners and / 2nd opinions; I have chanced upon looking at some of the charts. 4. From what I know, amongst the practitioners in Singapore; quite alot use the Pie chart method. Myself included. 5. Why? 5.1. Pie chart is more suited to landed properties as often many of these properties are elongaged rectangular shape. 5.2. At a glance, the practitioner will know where is the true-cardinal points (exact template of the entire North-South East-WestNE-SW,NW-SEtrue compass directions). And this is oftenlooked at /analysed in relation to where the external qi comes into the home. 5.3.Another important merit of the Pie chart is that as Flying Star is based on horizontal analysis; a pie chart canbe extended as far as one wants to e.g. the building, the site to check on where isgood for water location, mountain etc... While a 9 square gridis more focused to the interior of the home. 5.4.9 Square grid is good for a"purely" rectangular interior WITH divisions or rooms that fit this 9 square grid. For example, the layout plan that you had should can be considered "rectangular" buttherooms or bedrooms arenot proportionate to the 9 gird. Thus result in your confusion as1 square grid falls within say two bedrooms. 6. Many professional Chinese (mandarinFeng Shui) bookauthors(in my opinion) use more of the pie chart. While quite alot of EnglishFeng Shui books use the 9grid system especially in theirillustration. 7. As I had previously mentioned, with these two methods; there are some who may swear by one method or another ; while the more practical persons would say "It depends". Again, there is nopurely who is right or wrong. But my personal preference is the Pie chart method where it is much easier to work with when drafting out client's proposed report - most of the time. Occassionally I may use the 9 square if the shape and interior rooms are proportionate toeach of the 9 grids.
  6. 1. Charcoal stove = traditional "portable" stove. 2. Portable gas stove = modern, non-traditional. 3. Para 1; considered NICE-to-Do. Not a MUST-Do. 4. Frankly, in my opinion, if you are considering Para2; above; you may be the very first in Singapore, JB, Batam and even in the Far East. And maybe, one day, this becomes a new tradition. 5. In my opinion, if one does not do Para 1; no need to go so far as to search for another more modern portable gas stove. 6. In fact, for the last 20 years or so; there are so many variants of the "lighted" stove:- 6.1. The most common method is buy one at the common neighbourhood store and add charcoal wrapped in red paper and bring it in "cold" to the home. 6.2. Many young couples skip this part 6.3. Some use "barbecue" utensils and heat up the charcoal and then bring this entity into the kitchen stove and continue to let it burn. 7. Frankly, there is NO FIXED RULESET as to what is right or wrong, here. 8. If it sounds functional; and makes you and your family feel good about it; then do it. 9. Additional note:- 9.1. For those staying in some private homes or certain condos that have smoke detectors built-in at the kitchen or lift lobb(ies)... beware! 9.2. Either you go for the smoke-free barbecue charcoal type of material or don't do it.
  7. Ang A. wrote: I have a end-lot terrace and my house main door face SE direction . I would like to have a koi pond to my new place but read on your forum about SW is not good due to 'white- tiger'. My other alternative are SE , just in front of front door or West - which is near the back of house. 1. Appreciate, please try not to mis-quote my past forum message(s). 2. The actual message is as follows:- http://forum.geomancy.net/phpforum/article.php?bid=2&fid=1&mid=26464&new= Seeking Advice On A New Home Purchase Posted in: Discuss :: Free Advice (General Feng Shui) Posted on: Fri, 06 Nov 2009, 18:22 PM, 1. Purely from a Shapes and Forms Feng Shui, it is considered inauspicious. 2. This concept is based on the "East Dragon" and especially more towards: the "White Tiger" concept. 3. Under Shapes and Forms Feng Shui, it is not good to have an "open" mouth somewhat circular or looks like a hungry tiger's mouth. And since this home is facing SW, the water retention pond is considered as at the West side of the home - ie. the "white tiger's domain. 4. Just imagine, a tiger's mouth is always open "hungry" ... 5. Thus in general, even if the home is considered facing a favourable direction under Period 8 : SW, the prime concern here is the external Shapes and Forms Feng Shui - prevails. SW water position is "effective" only up to 2021 to not more than 2023 in such instances. 6. When placing a pond or a water position; it is always more importantly to get the facts correctly. Even for a SE facing home; under the Flying Star Feng Shui; it makes a difference between say a SE1 and/or SE2/SE3 facing home. 7. In general, usually SW sector Can/ May / Could /be suitable for a water position but often Para 6 is taken into consideration, also.
  8. 1. Those extension - most likely aluminium awnings to provide shade does not seem "threating" at all. Frankly these are not support beams at all. 2. Use the Best study direction report to check your facing direction. This is considered a "huge" work or study space. It is not like "X" marks the spot or spots.
  9. Appended on 4 December 2019: Suggest, please go directly for an in-dept understanding of the Frontage of a house. Is it always the main door? Please refer to the attached resource: http://forum.geomancy.net/phpforum/article.php?bid=2&fid=6&mid=26954&new= For practical reasons, the smallest Asian sized door width is 35 inches. For European or American standard - should be 42 inches or 48 3/4 inches roughly within such a range. Commonsense approach is that if the width is larger; the larger clearance the door has to "swing" inwards. And imagine if the door size is 58 inches (one or two leaves) and if the door swings inwards; the foyer of the home has to be pretty wide to cater for this width. Furthermore, if the home is to be lived in and ifdoes have a family: again just imagine a little cute boy or girl 4 to 5 years old struggling to open or close the door not withstanding any high winds nor the weight of the door. Doors that are at least 1/2 hour fire rated doors ain't lightweight - for sure!
  10. 1. In Singapore, this is little know nor published fact. 2. When I first started doing Feng Shui decades ago; I was amazed that the width of the main entrance door of the First Generation HDB flats had auspicious measurements. 3. Ignoring the grille gate of this sample home; the width of the opening is auspicious based on the Feng Shui Ruler. Even if we include both the two sides ofsupport frames of the main door; it is also auspicious. 4. There is no record of how this came about. Most likely, in my opinion, it may cometo this as an "accident". Most likely; a Chinese furniture maker/ manufacturer was tasked to design an entrance door; and this furniture maker saw fit to make it based on the imperial Feng Shui ruler measurement. 5. In the 2nd generation of HDB flats, there are single leaf doors that are 35 inches with a mix of the larger doors with two leafs: the larger leaf is 42 inches with a smaller leaf. 42 inches is still considered auspicous under the Feng Shui ruler. 6. For the door; as it depends on the type of floor tiles laid; thus this results in totally different heights : for example; some homes in the past cannot affort tiles so theysimply cement screed the entire home. While others usethicker terrasso tilesand later onmosaic and even ceramic tiles. 7. The heightin terms of Feng Shui ruler is less important. As the Qi is often looked at in terms of the width. 8. Thus, many homes with partitions : often go for either42 inches or the maximium 49 3/4 inches. Some partitions may go for the lesser 35 inches. 9. For the newer generation flats especially those constructed after 1980's onwards, the partition size of 42 inches will cover the main door - as the smaller leave dooris not often opened. 10. What should be thesize of the main door? If it is based on the Feng Shui ruler (or the imperial carpentry ruler): 9.1. for a small apartment: like the 1st generationHDB flats : one single leaf door is overall 35 inches. 9.2 Other widths include 42 inches; 49 3/4 inches; Usually it can be one leaf or one leaf and a smaller leaf or two equal leaf of say 42 inches by 42 inches. For a home the largest such doors should be is 58 inches unless the home is a huge castle or mansion. 10. In Feng Shui, it is strongly recommended that all home doors open inwards: The main door excluding grille or screens for the door The back door excluding grille gate-door All bedroom doors should open inwards unless it is a door to the wardrope, in this case it can be sliding doors. There is no issue with toilet doors or kitchen door unless it is opening out to the backyard. 11. Attached is the picture of a single leaf Government Housing Board Flat door. This door was installed for homes in the 1960s onwards until around 1980's; after which, the newer flats had two leaf doors of which one leaf is small mostly for the purpose of bringing in bulk furniture or even a piano.
  11. 1. Singaporeans really pray to all sorts of GODs. 2. While walking past a row of shop houses; this shop owner evidently prays to a pair of "striped tigers". 3. In the first picture; he has a pair of Qi Lin on each side of the front pillar. And in the middle; a worship altar on the floor. Notice the two different pairs of striped lions.... each with it's mouth full ... symbolic of bringing in wealth. 4. A percentage of mediums somehow; enact or even become "tiger god" in some instances. Usually, these people hope to get great wealth.
  12. 1. If you want to look youthful; in my opinion, never become a politician! 2. Just observe many hardworking Cabinet Minisiters and one realise; how fast they age! 3. Could this be one of the reasons, why so many smart persons don't bother to become politicians?
  13. 1. Some bright or primary colors if used at the wrong location may affect certain situations:- For example under the Flying star concept: Bright Yellow & or Bright Red@ location(s) especially those with #5 and/or #2 and/or #9 etc... can affect health - ranging from constant health issues to some needing operations. Bright Green and or Bright Blue @ location(s) with #3 and/or combined with WS#1 can affect relationships / marriage / family issues / lawsuits. While using Bright Blue in the kitchen can affect a woman's health and family wealth and if it also falls at Mountain Star MS#8 - will drown such luck. 2. Above are just some of the examples, I can quickly think of. 3. The most critical areas for 2010 are: Five Yellow at South-West Grand Duke at East-North-East, 60 Degrees And the Three Killings at North. 4. If you can do painting at South before Feb 14th, that is best, but if you can't at least; although it is #3 sector; the consolation is that it is not at the above three MAJOR concern areas.
  14. In this story:- 1. Three boys: named ONE, TWO & THREE. 2. A unhappy mum in a dark home. 3. A new boyfriend who is RICH! 4. She yearns for GREENER pasture.....
  15. Remarkable! Ever since we adopted this new logo; our turnover became low or negligible! Wow!
  16. We treat our people with respect; good pay; excellent health care, yet, one by one has left our company? Other than myself; none of my workers are more than 2 months old in my company! Please help? I studied organisational behaviour, applied all theory Y senarios; even allow workers to work at home and fat pay check? Can you take a look at my company logo and recommend a solution? Please, help, help!
  17. Who's the boss? Of this home? Anyway..... let's face it... SMSes are here to stay
  18. One of the most searched results is "How do I make him love me?" More: Is he cheating on me? How do I improve my romance?

I would like to seek clarification of my understanding of your advise through illustration provided. 1) In such case, are you recommending to remove all the lights and just leave 1 at the center of the wooden door? or place only a "red clothing in front of the wooden door will do? 1. Please re-read my earlier posting: Posted on: Tue, 19 Jan 2010, 22:00 PM, "5. If your opposite neighbour's home is a mirror image of yours, with the same roof structure, etc... in my opinion, there is such thing as "squaring off" or neutralising each other." 2) Do you have any cure for the carbon footprint? Please advise. Thanks. 2. Must there be a cure for everything? Clue? " Within your own control" 3.Use your fingers to do the walking by going to any search engine(s) an d type "carbon footprint".
  20. 1. Please note that Period 8 ranges from 2004 to 2023. During the past few months, I being posting this link very often:- http://www.geomancy.net/resources/yearly-forecast/fortunes-2010.htm 2. Go check it out. 3. Must everything have a cure? In fact, in many instances, the commonsense cure is not to do it. We plan to put up a small business in front of the house, which is better, locate it in the Northeast or Northwest part. I'm East group, Kua4. The house was built in Period 8. 4. Please note that this is a free GENERAL advice forum.
  21. These are some considerations: 1. If a sector also has good qi especially those coming in thru a window, good to open such windows to allow qi to flow into the home and when doing so, it does help the centrepoint. 2. Usually after heavy down-pour; good to regularly air the entire home e.g. open all "openings" if possible for a short-while - for qi to refresh into the home. 3. Some homes at the centrepoint has clear space, this is good for #8 at the centrepoint. But this is meant more for a home with 20 year flying star and when one wants to built the home from scratch. 4. If a sector has good star(s); and if one can spent time or activity at that sector; that is good. 5. Unfortunately, we have to accept that not all homes does have what I described under Para 3 and/or 4.
  22. 1. Effective Feng Shui is a holistic approach. Ruchir P. wrote: Hi , I have bedroom located in south west direction of house. The bedroom also has attached bathroom with toilet in south west direction of room. Is that good? 2. In two sentences, I really can't possible tell. As no Shapes and Forms nor Compass School of Feng Shui is used, here. 3. Holistic Feng Shui is about: 3.1. Enhancing good qi in a home and 3.2. Reducing or neutrasing bad qi in a home. 4. Your question is too general. 5. If youwant to find out whether Year of tiger 2010 is good or not, appreciate, if you can review this link:- http://www.geomancy.net/resources/yearly-forecast/fortunes-2010.htm
  23. Yes. Casanova W. wrote: Master, Is there such a case of special birth chart whereby Fake extremely Strong birth chart or Fake extremely weak birth chart ? I mean one person unlucky elements become his lucky elements?
  24. 1. If you so interested in getting "perfect measurements" the easiest is to go purchase a Feng Shui ruler. Find out more about the measurements:- http://www.geomancy.net/resources/theories/fs-ruler.htm 2. Again, unfortunately, you make Feng Shui reallysounds so complicated: what with entire facade 15 meters etc... 3. Frankly, again, you are the one and only person; throughout the existence of this forum as far back as the 1996's that posts such ... 4. If you really are so into measurements, I sincerely advice you to go learn VASTU, the Indian art of "Feng Shui". 5. As in fact, last decade or so, there are some in India, which strictly build homes that strictly must fit precise measurements: room by room kind of situation. 6. Hey! Feng Shui or Chinese Art of Feng Shui is more practical. Only certain measurements, try nice to have. And even in the forbidden cities, the concept of 9 or 999 are very important. But to make sure that when we "Feng Shui" build a home, everything must fit Feng Shui measurements - is not practical. 7. Frankly, those who are too obsessed with Feng Shui and in Singapore, we thought that some are kiasu, but you are the ultimate "kaisee" fella. When I took the measurement of the facade from the ends of the perimeter wall and measurement of the steel door: 1) the entire facade is - 15meters 2) the driveway door - 4meters 3) smaller door for person's entrance - 1.5meter Is this size proportion to the facade?
