  1. 1. I believe you are trying to avoid moving in after the Chinese 7th lunar month beginning from 20 August 2009. 2. Thus, I also feel that continuing with the renovation is considered as a lesser of the two. 3. The plus point is that the activites you had describe is nothing new or serious: "such as polishing of floor, painting of house, toilet renovation, etc". Such activites are also done by many others present and past who had stayed in a home for quite some time. 4. Thus, in my opinion, all these activities that you had described are OK. Just that do take note of locations based on the Tai Sui and Five Yellow and Three Killings location for the year. Reference: http://www.geomancy.net/resources/yearly-forecast/fortunes-2009.htm Grand Duke this year is North-North-East, 30 Degree. - Avoid sitting facing the grand duke or disturbing him by having renovations. Location in Conflict is East. - Avoid having renovations done opposite the location in conflict. Anonymous wrote: Is it ok to continue with the renovation work after "Kai Guang" and move in?
  2. 1. In general, it is a "pity" we live Singapore. This is because Singapore is a small "red dot" with a small population. 2. And a country that was once "young". And hopefully it is only a transition. As up till now; all we see or many employers seeuseful in "younger workers". 3.I believe in 20 years time; the frame of mind of employers and HR will change. By the time many of us will be in our twilightyears! 4. Evenwe started Geomancy.net many donkey years ago; at least more than 1.5 decades ago; we don't choosedomain names that end with country .sg. As Singapore is truly a tiny island. 5.In Singapore; if one is "old" or elderly or body still young butin theory isover 40 years old: there is nothing much one can do: for manypast salaried workers. 6. Thus, the most common work: are in the real estate, food business and even taxi drivers. There is nothing wrong in going into these trades... just that there are not much one can go into - with a small market of 4 million plus minus the young and the elderly.. maybe just 2.5 million productive workers (with money to spent). 7. In theory, what you mention, is acceptable. Teo O. wrote: Will it be fine if someone own the cafe but I manage the business as a management staff?
  3. 1. Often, in our quest to determine what is Sha Qi or poison arrow; many of us don't get the full picture. 2. Many often, we ourselves; are the culprit! For example, take a look at this picture. Some homes even have grills for the windows and the main entrance with the "arrow" head design.
  4. 1. Frankly as mentioned in my previous forum messages; a real sha qi or poison arrow must meet certain conditions. 2. A shadow "acting" like a sha qi is not. 3. If one should "insisit" to neutralise a placebo; then go ahead. Although again, I don't see much use, here. 4. It may not be practical to place a conVEX mirror given that most likely; the shadow may not fall on it. A 6 hollow rod wind chime MAY be used. But, if it really cause too much noise vs one's tolerance vs psychology of seeinga sha qi is the lesser of the two evils. 5. Thus, if one really one to place a placebo cure, then go ahead. But please don't mention that this was recommended by me. Pretend that you heard it from some where, else. This is one case of "see no evil, speak no.. and hear no evil."
  5. 1. Under the Five Elements concept: 1.1. Real estate industry belongs to the earth element. 1.2. If you are in the real estate industry and selling "something" such as a home or an agent helping to rent out a home / office or factory this is considered as under the fire element. 1.3. Please note that a person can be in the real estate industry but his/her major job function can be any of these:- 1.3.1 Human resource management 1.3.2 Property Management 1.3.3 Customer Relations and many more.. if so, depending on the main job scope; there are different elements associated with any of these. 2. Based strictly on the Five Elements concept: 2.1. Real estate being an earth element is considered not suitable to a strong earth person. As it adds more stress and literally; it is like adding earth to already strong earth. 2.2. If your job function is sales or marketing of properties: under the producitve sequence of the five elements: Fire will inflame earth. Thus if one is already a strong earth person; it is like fuelling fire with fire. Thus overall not considered harmonious to the person. 2.3 A strong earth person's wealth element is Water element. And such a person's wealth career is metal element. As metal helps to reduce or neutralise or draw away too much earth. 3. A strong earth person; should reduce his/her earth element to a state of "neutral bouyancy". Similiarly a weak earth person should increase his/her weak earth to become neutral element. Reference material of the Five elements concept: http://talk.geomancy.net
  6. 1. So far, this is the first time that I had seriouly heard that a shadow may or could cause a "poison arrow". 2. Frankly, following a shadow even if it falls on a home may not necessarily cause a poison arrow. Especially if your home is not pure North-South and East-West and furthermore, the sun must have cast the shadow directly to your home. 3. Please check what I had mentioned earlier. Such shadows are " considered like a pusedo effect...may be harmless. 4.Do remember to stand inside thehome- directly looking out of the window. You never mentioned that whether can the bamboo pole be seen or not. But rather; you are so considered with a shadow. We are not there so how to interpret or even mis-interpret your message? 5. Anyway, drawing an equivalent: 5.1. Beams? - Concrete beam with steel metal rods embedded in it and wood supports are considered real beams. Why? - Because these are very solid material(s) that carry loads or load bearing supports. - Many homes nowadays install gypsum board false ceilings that are either undulating or looks like a beam. Firstly these gypsum boards are not load bearing. Furthermore, the gypusm board material is very light. - Thus, gypsum board false ceilings only cause a "pusedo effect". It is like taking a sugar coated pill. 6. A bamboo pole is equally light and not as solid as the solid lamp post or the wooden telephone pole. 7. Frankly, the only shadows; I am concerned are from Kung Fu or martial arts experts. Some are highly skilled in what is known as "shadow boxing". This is the type of shadows I am really afraid off. 8. I am not afraid of a shadow of a pole that casts its shadows on my window.
  7. 1. For simple no frills; method of finding out compatibility:- http://www.lovesigns.net/horoscope/acompare/acompare.htm The above is based purely on the Chinese Zodiac signs. This isa very general method as it analyses only the YEAR of one's birth. And it is compared to both parties (or even partner's) YEAR of birth. This type of compatibility is like two countries going to war:- For example: It is like one country flying propellar plans that can only fly up to 400 mph and the other more advanced country flying any jet plane. A jet plane can easily reach Mach 1 or Mach 2 (twice the speed of a bullet). 2. Using Ba Zi analysis 2.1. Minimium data required : Year, Month, Day of birth (Time of birth is better, but some people really don't have a proper time and often some look at different time zones and wonder what to do with it. For example, maid comes from the Phillipines etc. 2.2. For example, the employer is considered as "weak water" person. AND if the maid is considered a "strong fire" person; then considered very in-compatible. 2.3. Another example, the employer is a "weak water" person. And the maid is a strong metal person. As metal element supports water; this is a very good pairing: of employer with maid etc.. 3. In the past; few other than highly skilled geomancys are not able to complete or even correclty get the ba zi. 4. Even today, 8 out of 10 geomancer will "screw-up" with the reading. 5. In fact, just last year, a forum user brought to my attention that she had previously went to a "author- Geomancer's website". 6. Her calculations differ from Geomancy.net. And when she last checked, last year; that geomancer had revised her results that matched Geomancy.net's analysis. 7. Caveat Emptor: Let the "buyer" beware that not all Ba zi analysis are created equal. Many simply get the results wrong! 8. In such an instance; is'nt it better to use the "no frills" Chinese zodiac sign compatibility - under instances as mentioned : Para 7, above.
  8. 1. In my opinion these are some of the considerations:- 1.1. The poison arrow must be straight-ahead. And not seen at the side of the window. It has to be directly facing the window; 1.2. In addition, it must be at the same level. For example; one should stood down and look out exactly horizontally at the fringe of the bottom of the window. If the antennae cannot be seen; it is not a threat. 1.3. Material: Usually the TV antennae aerial is made of soft material - some "aluminium" type of soft metal. If the material is quite soft; other than the support; such soft material is less or even a non-threat. 1.4. For example: A solid telephone wooden support post and a gulvanised steel street lamp is definitely considered a "threat" if it slicing into an opening: be a window or an entrance. These materials are "solid" and relatively hard.
  9. If these homes are in the United States (US), homes outlined in RED would instead be considered as the least auspicious amongst the row of terrace homes. Please see attachment.
  10. 1. Is a home at a T-Junction considered as having "Sha qi: poison arrows?". 2. Often, in Singapore, we find that two homescan face aT-junction. 3. For example, please see attachment: The two terrace homes marked in purple 1 and 2 are facing a T-Junction. 4. However, often ONLY one of these homes are consideredas havingsha qi. The determining factor is whether the country is having a Right-hand drive or Left-hand drive car. 5. In this example, since the location is Singapore; which is a right-hand drive country, the sha qi will affect terrace house marked in purple: 1 and 3. 6. For the US; which has a left-hand drive, the movement of cars would differ and most likely the sha qi will be against homes marked in purple: 2 and 4.
  11. Astor is a small 12 storey single block condominium. It was completed this year. Tenure is 99 years. I give this condo the"THUMBS DOWN":- 1. Although the overall block looks not only like a drawf dragon; it is only but ajunior &not a formidable dragon and worseoff - it looks like it has all its limbs amputated... a cripple! 2. The worst stack is Stack #03. Has really bad Shapes and Forms Feng Shui: the main issue is that the whole stack (other than the void area for cars to pass below it;) faces the main entrance. 3. Naturally, this stack #03, also has a "dark secret". It has the "pulling power" to bring itself "down" and drag stack #02 with it to the dumps! 4.1 In particular, the "V" shaped void between the two blocks create bad "votex" and qi flow. 5. Furthermore, the rest of the other stacks either has facing direction ofFlying Star Period 8; NW3 or SE3. 6.Even ifsomeone places a gun to my head, I would try my best to forcethe gun away from me. Most likely, it willinjure the shooter, instead... Others: Types of Units: 2Rms - 861Sf - 990Sf 3Rms -1087Sf - 1227Sf 3Rms+Study - 1173Sf
  12. 1. Frankly, there are so many unknowns; on such a simple question. 2. For example; in order for wealth leak; it starts from even simple things as : Location, location and location. 3. Even if the toilet at the center-point is considered a leak; often in order to have things like wealth leak(s); usually a home would most likely have at least THREE major leaks. 4. We all know that if we live in an apartment, there is no (like the British say "no bloody" way) thatwe move the toilet/ it's plumbing etc... 5. Thus for practical reasons, try to find other "wealth leaks" especially major ones and fix them. Then one will have a higher success rate. 6. But a real pity is that many equate buying uselss commercial products as a "comforter?" much like some people find comfort in eating ... to make their "pain go away". 7. Thus, in reality; even if the toilet is a CONTRIBUTING cause; try to apply the concept of:- http://wiki.geomancy.net/wiki/The_Concept_of_Maximizing_Marks
  13. 1. If you have pictures of both sides would be good. 2. Majority of homes have 4 sides. If it is standalone home (bungalow) then 4 sides. If it is a semi-detached home than 3 sides to consider as the "facing" direction. For terrace home only 2 sides. 3. Often, if the "back" of the home has the washingarea/ washing machines, kitchen (wet and or dry) and rooms said as spare, guestor maid'sroom and toilets; then most likely, this area standing inside the home facing out of this areais not the"facing" direction". 4. Facing direction shouldoften preferably to "light" airy and bright. No need to measure windows, a visual look of how many openings and how much light comes in would be one consdieration indetermining the facing direction of the home. 5. Your call, because, it is difficult tounderstand from a simple forum message. The saying goes " a picture tells a thousand words".
  14. 1. As you are trying to D.I.Y. frankly it is spending lots of time and effort going thru the various concepts:- 1.1. Some of the useful links:- Flying Star as a diagnostic Tool: http://wiki.geomancy.net/wiki/Flying_Star_Feng_Shui_as_a_Diagnostic_Tool Eight House Theory: Which side must I sleep http://wiki.geomancy.net/wiki/Master_Bedroom:_Which_side_must_I_sleep_on More importantly, one has to do lots of research into understanding key concepts: The Three-Step-Approach
  15. 1. As we all know, Titanic did sink! 2. Imagine, even a ship built with so many individual compartments cannot stay afloat! 3. The most recent theory was that the steelfor the ship although adequate for that time, can get brittle. 4. And it was foundalso that at majority of the rivets were forged by machines to bind the pieces of steel. 5. Many inaccesible locations that needed hammering of rivets were done by hand. And because of this, softer steel or wrought iron were used to form the rivets. And many ofthesesofter steel were found to have slag or britte material. 6. And whenTitanic glazedan iceberg, many of the weak riverts gave way and several of it's waterproof compartments were breeched.. Thus there was no hope. 7. Can we draw a same parallel to our lives? 8. In many instances;we often prefer to close our eyes to "leaks" but rather think or mislead into buying all sorts ofuseless commercial products. Like all theexpensive furnishings in the first class area of titanic; all these products willgodown with the ship! 9. It is likefor some people, when they are stressed; they simply find solace in food! But ultimately, they growfat fast! And if they really want to get back.. they have to really work hard to loose all those pounds! But many.. don't!
  16. 1. Complex comprises the Kong Meng San Phor Kark See Monastery, Bright Hill Crematorium & Columbarium and the Evergreen Home. 2. The Tee Tho Aum Temple is next door to the many funeral parlours at Blk 37 to 39 Sin Ming Drive. 3. In when my grand-father's grave was exhumed from his burial site 35 plus years ago in the Tampines dut to the government taking possession of the cemetry to buildgovernment homes in that area. Presently my grand father is housed in the Bright Hill Columbarium. 4.The Golden Sphere / Spine is considered a sha qi especially if the premises is at the same level of the spine. 4.1 There are several developments close-by to spine:the Bishan Point condo; Government Housing Board Flats (Housing and Development Board - HDB) in Bright Hill Avenue arevery close to the "Sphere or Spine" of the Kong Meng San. 4.2 And many of the homes (directly facing the sphine) that are at the same level of the "Sphere or Spine" hadopted / resorted to placing a conVEX mirror each to deflect it.
  17. SOURCE & CREDIT OF ALL PICTURES AND SITE MAPS TO: FAR EAST ORGANISATION Saturday, 25th July 2009: 1. This is a newly launched freehold development by Far East Organisation. This development is at Jalan Datoh in the Thomson & Novena; at the fringe of the the city area. 2. This development comprises Two Towers: Tower 1 and Tower 2. 3. On firstlooks, the development seems to look like the very auspicious "V" shaped (Shapes and Form configuration). You can see the picture of the condo and Illustration 1 from attachments: Vista Residences.gif & V-shaped-layout.gif 3. Please see attachment: Vista Residences1.jpg. Tower 1 has a sharp corner (Sha qi or poison arrow) aimed at Tower 2. So long as the poison arrow at 45 degrees angle does not slice into the balcony window of Tower 2, then it is OK. 3.1 Thus so long as Tower 1 Stack #08 "shoots" at Tower 2 but if it does not impact towards a window, balcony opening of Tower 2 Stack #01, this is acceptable. But if it does, then this is a classic Sha Qi or poison arrow hitting Tower 2 Stack #01. 3.2. In my opinion, based purely on Shapes and Forms Feng Shui: harmonious arrangementof the layout of Towers 1 with Towers 2 and the alignment of the Towers to the North-South and East-West compass alignment. 20. i1.This is a freehold development comprises 240 units. The developer is: Allgreen. 2. It is situated on a higher slope at Woodleigh Close, off Upper Serangoon Road. IT has 2 Blocks that are 14 storey's high. 3. As it's TOP was in 2008, the Flying Star for this development is Period 8. And 50 percent of all units face South 2 (N2; while the rest of the units face North 2 (N2) 4. Overall, this whole development suits the East group people. In particular, the best units are those circled in RED: South facing. As South facing apartmens enjoy double auspicious MS#8 and WS#8 at it's frontage. The best stacks in this development are: #01, #04, #05, #08 and #09. 5. With an odd shaped layout plan, the developer has taken much effort in maximising the blocks. And the blocks are well laid out i.e. no complicated positions. In addition, the entire site looks like the numeral = ONE. Thus Good Shapes and Forms Feng Shui. 6. In addition it is short walking distance to the Woodleigh MRT and three famous schools near-by: Cedar Girls Secondary School, Maris Stella High School and Victoria School. It is also very close to Potong Pasir market area. CAVEAT: "BETTER UNITS ARE SOUTH FACING" - THE ABOVE APPLIES ONLY FROM T.O.P. IN 2007 TILL MAX 2023
  21. 1. Please note that one of those table top small (tiny) fountains is considered useless.. or no point placing it. 2. For any water feature, yes, refer to the earlier link and Para 2.1 to 2.11. It is stated there to apply the five elements concept.
  22. Sorry I cannot comprehen what you are mentioning about. Overall the layout plan that you had shown earlier, looks good under Shapes and Forms Feng Shui.
  23. 1. You should use the unit number as #02 - 04. 2. In addition, you should also indicate the Flying Star Period e.g. 1984 to 2003 etc... 3. Please note the above info and the use of the House number report is usually meant to see the vertical Flying Star significance of the home. 4. Birthdays are mean to find out whether you are an East or West group and also matched with the facing direction of the apartment. Frankly, this is not within the scope of this General Advice forum. Phung Tieu T. wrote: This condo unit is located at 2nd floor and the house number is 7041 and condo # is 204. My birthday is 07/18/1962. 24. 1. If your home has not been built yet, try to see if you can avoid having a bed above the fireplace. 2. Logically, it will not be possible to have the bed above the fireplace since it usally has a stack or chimney that runs from the ground floor to the roof. 3. Frankly, other than moving the bed(s) away from a fireplace, what else can one do? It is either: this or that type of senario. 4. It is common to have a closet close to door. So long as possible, bedroom doors should preferably open inwards intoa bedroom and the door can easily open fully towards the wall. If this is so, then it is perfectly OK. Gwen B. wrote: Thank you so much for having this forum! We are adding a bedroom to our house and have the following concerns. I read another forum posting that if we need to place the bed on the same wall as the fireplace, just place it 3 cm from the wall. But what should we do if we not only share the wall but are directly on top of the fireplace (because the bedroom is on the 2nd floor, right above the family room with fireplace)? Second, is it okay to have the closet so close to (in the direct path of) the door upon entering the room?
