  1. These are some of the common notations on your case:- 1. Check your existing name or change of name: Some go to the extend of checking one's existing "Mandarin" name to see if it would help to benefit a person if there is a change of name or not. Here, I have mentioned that if one does not normally use one's "changed" name, then usually, not very practical to do so. For example, if we have a Christian name: of Christina, changing one's mandarin nameoften does not help in any way. Especially if the universal commerce language is English. 2. Under the Five elements concept, Fire fuels earth. Thus, there are varied interpretations such as going for a fire career or have more "fire" especially for a weak earth person. Adding fire would be more beneficial as fire fuels earth. While adding earth to earth is acceptable but not that fantastic. 3. Under the Holy Trinity of Luck; 3,1. Heaven Luck: Para 1 and 2 above, bring a few examples of your ba zi (Heaven Luck) situation. 3.2. Earth Luck 3.3. Human (Man Luck). What is Earth and Human or (Man) luck has been discussed previously in many of the past forum messages.
  2. 1. The high uncovered overhead beam can be an issue. 2. Given that your cubicle is located at a frequent foot traffic area - there is no choice, here. You have placed a mirror is fine or OK. For para 1, some of the common cures include: 1. Covering the overhead beam - seems not within your control 2. Another common approach is to draw a red line parallel to the beam (especially if it is above your head). The "red" line symbolises fire and if the beam is a concrete or wood beam, the red (fire) is symbolic of "melting" the beam. 3. Possible also for the nasty #5 yellow (misfortune/sickness) and or a combination of it with #2 at your cubicle sector. Here, within your cubicle, you can either hang a set of six coins tied with red string or place a "metallic" e.g. brass clock on the table (if not practical) then the next best is the brass "hulu" or bottle gourd (about 2 to 3 inches) in size is preferred. The above are some of the common "cures" for such a situation given that this is an office environment - not own house or property. Quote: Jolie Q. wrote: I started a new job 11/07. Since beginning of year, I've had numerous health problems. I'm suspicious is the office feng shui. How can I cure: - High uncovered ceilings (overhead beams, etc showing) on top of me - open cublicle, I placed mirror up to see behind me - frequent foot traffic walking by my cublicle
  3. 1. Frankly, there is no single "line" Feng Sui cure from a Feng Shui point of view where if one continue to stay in a specific home. 2. Proper Feng Shui cure or enhancement require a proper holisticaccessment of the home. Quote: Lehoa T. wrote: I'm a strong water person and really live in North facing house. I'm really in deep financial debt. Cannot move now. Do you have any ideal for me to fix this problem as soon as possible.
  4. 1. As a strong earth person, the metal business that you had mentioned that produces water is considered beneficial under the five elements concept. 2. Since you are a strong earth person, metal will help you and water is yourwealth element. Wood career or association with wood is your "power of authority". Quote: Norhaidah M. wrote: As a strong earth person with no water in my birthchart (either in stemor branch), I look forward for the coming luck pillar of water next year. Dragon inmy luck pillar will combine with Monkey in my chart to form water. My questions are:- 1. Since I don't have water in my stem, how effective the result would be? 2. Shall I do business related to fire, as dragon is earth, or metal business as the result is water?
  5. 1. Fundamentally, here, you are applying the Eight House theory. 2. As many of us are aware, the Eight House theory looks at how suitable the house is to the owner(s). 3. In addition, if we have several homes to decide upon, which is better, the other common approach is to perhaps determine, between these homes, which sectors are good or bad vs the other homes. 4. For example, home 1: main door (inauspicious) 2. living room (inauspicious) sector, toilet at husband's prosperity sector; we then compare home 2; home 3 against home 1 to see which home is better. 5. Other than the above, we have to use other methods : Shapes and forms and Flying star Feng Shui, to determine or hrlp us further decide which home to buy. Quote: Anonymous wrote: Hi Master Lee My partner & I belong to the West KUA group (2 & 8). We intend to purchase an apartment with main door facing East and living room facing North. The main orientation is North/South. Do you foresee an affliction? If yes, is there a remedy? Thanks once again for your insights.
  6. 1. This is not a free service. 2. As you had mentioned that many people felt that your name dows not suit you, you may like to take note that: Usually, names are selected when young i.e. at birth. If u susequently change to a new name, but will not use it, I personally don't see any use, here. For example, if u are in Singapore where the commercial language is English, and if u don't use the new mandarin name, frankly it is not much use changing the name. The most effective is to use one's newly changed name. Further more, if one has a Christian name e.g. Christine, you will be usingthis more often! Quote: Anonymous wrote: there are many people who knows how to analyse chinese names told me that my name doesnt suit me. i wanted to change but am worried about the after effect will be worse. Can you just help me to calculate one more time to see if my name does suit me/ if its balance? btw, my chinese name is guo wan yu.
  7. Dear Doris, Yes, one consideration is SW sector. Another two sectors to consider are: 1. South-East (Eldest daughter) 2. South (Middle daughter) 3. West (Youngest daughter) If one only has two daughters than do check out Para 1. SE (eldest)and 3. West (youngest) For landed property, make sure that at the frontage; avoid having too many openings OPENED e.g. some landed properties have both main door e.g. wooden door and directly next to this a row of sliding glass. If often both this sliding glass are always opened together with the wooden door. Quote: Doris W. wrote: Hello! I am aware that the SW sector of the house is the romance sector. I have two daughters who are unmarried; is there any problem if the kitchen is in the SW sector of the house? Thanks in advance
  8. 1. To be honest, it is no value to take a compass direction and not use it. The Compass School Feng Shui, is not only about taking a general reading and (full stop). 2. To enhance a sector, or neutralise a sector or problem; the Compass School Feng Shui (especially Flying Star) has both the TOOLs as well as the means to understand each sector. 3. Under Shapes and Forms Feng Shui, a tree trunk should preferably not "slice" thru the main entrance door or window of our home. If it slices the neighbour's -- not our concern... (This is still a poison arrow or sha qi towards that neighbour - not our home). Nancy W. wrote: I have used the compass direction to determine that my main entrance of my apartment is in the South sector. I share a common foyer with my neighbor who lives upstairs. Upon entering the foyer the door to my apartment is on the left. Upon entering I am in the livingroom. to my right is the middle room which is the bedroom. Through that room is the kitchen. Any advice to enhance these areas? Or correct the missing ones according to the bagua? Also the living room window looks out onto the front lawn where there is a tree (to the side of the front door) It is directly across from a negative neighbor. Does this tree protect me from her bad chi?
  9. 1. So sorry to hear about your situation! 2. What was looked at was just your proposed future partner's ba zi. His Heaven Luck. It involves lots of analysis so I would not dwell into it. 3. If the subsequent resistance is from your parents, then you can relate to them the following:- 4. For the Chinese, our LUCK is based on the "Holy Trinity" of Luck:- 4.1 Heaven Luck = personal Ba Zi 4.2 Earth Luck = Feng Shui of home / office 4.3 Human or Man Luck = relationship especially with family Thus Heaven Luck is just 33.3 percent of all of our total luck. Many people, have reasonable Feng Shui (home luck) and equally have very good and enduring relationships (Human or man luck). In fact, there are many cases where many people may not have fantastic Heaven Luck, or Earth Luck, but because they have very good relationship luck, it transends or overwhelms the first two: Heaven / Earth Luck! Good Luck!
  10. 1. In Feng Shui, the kitchen belongs to the lady of the house. The corner where one choose to place a kitchen depends on each individual home. In general, the Eight House chart of the lady of the house is considered, in addition to your first few written lines where possible it should not be at NW etc... The Flying Star chart of each of one of the 15 directions also need to be considered. 2. Thus it is so easy to provide a one liner statement " which corner would you place a kitchen. " Similarly, which corner you place a toilet. The key word is " It Depends!" Quote: Anonymous wrote: I been reading all the message that is not good to have the kitchen in the NW, center of the house, close to the main entrance, or wealth corner. In your opinion, if your were to chose, which cornerwould you place a kitchen. Also, which corner would you place a toilet. Thank you very much for your help. Cheers
  11. 1. Since the door is facing the staircase, the concept is "if it is not seen it is no longer a threat" applies. Thus, it should be placed such that the staircase is fully or partially blocked. 2. In Singapore weather, the most common - easy to maintain are those from the bamboo family is one of the easiest to upkeep. The yellow bamboo and common straight growing ones are OK. Any other plants so long as they don't have a single trunk would be accepable.
  12. 1. The idea, here is to use any combinations of ONE-STEP with TWO-STEPs. 2. In this illustration, Four Steps in-total is considered inauspicious. Thus we may consider "breaking" it down "mathematically using Para 1 above. 3. Please see attachment. To fully understand: 2 + 2 OR 1 + 1 + 2.
  13. Further to what I had mentioned:- 1. Please see attachment: Illustration showing how a THREE-STEPs staircase can be "broken-down" into a TWO-STEPs plus ONE-STEP staircase. 2. Where ONE-STEP and TWO-STEPs are considered auspicious while THREE-STEPs is consideredas "death-steps".
  14. 1. Thank you for the layout plan. I have reviewed it and the good news is that: Yes, your architect interpreted correctly. 2. The 9 continous steps should be counted together. And a separate step i.e. step 10 should be counted separately. 3. In general, usually exterior steps are tiled and often, they are tiled using the same material. And when we step on them, they "flow-together". 4. Sometimes, we may not have a choice i.e. we cannot have two or one step but no choice to have three (inauspicious) steps. Here, we can have either : 4.1 : Two tiles share the same colour (material) while the third tile of a different material or just cement screeding. This can symbolically be considered as different counts i.e. two steps then one step. 5. So long as the step is not "continous" i.e. after a 7 meter walk, the next set of step(s) should be counted differently. Quote: Anonymous wrote: Hi Mr. Lee, A clarification on the steps counting after the landing, do you consider the landing the immediate wide space after the contiguous steps or is the landing considered thelast leveltill you reach themain floor? When I asked my architech to come up with 10-steps for the main entrance, he counted 9 from sidewalk to porch then the 10th step from porch to foyer (same level as main house). At the back of the house, I required 5 steps. The architech counted 3 steps from driveway to garden, after a 7 meter walk, +1 stepfrom garden to terrace, then +1 step from terrace to ground floor, a total of 5. Are the computations correct? Or do we justcount the contiguous steps of the stairs? I'm attaching the floor plan for your reference. Thank you in advanced. -Earl
  15. 1. If you really want to check whether your apartment house number is auspicious or inauspicious, do check out thisFree report:- http://www.geomancy.net/reports/reports-list/hselist-houseno.htm This report applies only to flats, apartments or highrise buildings. It does not apply to landed property. This report is based on the premise that the Qi influence differs at each level/storey. Use this report to find out how auspicious or inauspicious your apartment number is. 2. Because #2 and #5 happens to be inauspicious, may not necessarily mean that a combination of both numbers is good or not. Do check out the above, link.
  16. 1. Some Feng Shui practitioners a have "rigid thinking" which they felt that any apartment BLOCK on "stilts" or standing on legs are no good. Here, some Feng Shui practitioners felt that the entire block is at risk of "loss of wealth". For example, to these Feng Shui practitioners, so long as any property is not on land or on the ground and supported even by levels of car park are considered not good. 2. In Singapore, the Ritz Carlton hotel was "Feng Shuied" and was built on such a column "or void". 3. Again, in Singapore, approximately 80 to 90 percent of Singaporeans live in a Housing Board (HDB apartment). And as you had mentioned, many of such blocks have a "void deck". 4. From past experience, I personally find that most of the time there is no major issue especially for those living in a HDB apartment be it on the 2nd floor or higher level. 5. The main rationale why it was (or is) considered inauspicious to have a void below one's home was due especially to the idea that it is especially no good to have a bedroom above a garage or a car park. For example, if the garage happen to contain flameable substances or if the unlikelyhood that a parked car burns, fire may rise upwards to the upper floors. Since most Singapore HDB void decks are clean and no major combustible items are stored there, then it is fine. Another example is formerly close to Chapel Road / Tembling Road / East Coast Rd, there was a petrol station below some shop house: because of the government's review, it was found that for security reasons and safety such petrol station(s) should not be together in the same commercial building. The former petrol station:- Anonymous wrote: Generally, isit bad feng shui to bestaying above a void deck?
  17. Quote: Anonymous wrote: Master Lee, Thank you for your reply to my previous posts. I am here with another question: What can I do to rectify my tiger and dragon. Mtiger side of the house is higher than the dragon side. What are the possible conseqence of such a case, and what are the remedies to correct this. Thank you very much As you are aware, you are asking a question based on the exterior of your home: Can you physically change or control the exterior? Yes/No? Well, you think about it....
  18. 1. Usually indoor plants are often waxy and darker green colour. These are the most suitable indoor plants. 2. There are at least three very common bamboo plants. The advantage of bamboos are that they are very hardy and some varieties grow very well indoors with little maintenance. 3. Symbolically, to the Chinese, bamboo represents "youth" and when combined with some other characters could mean "longevity". 4. So long as the plants does not have thorns; they are generally acceptable although preference is on the porch and often not found in the interior of the home.
  19. In my opinion, there is no "magic" attached to dzi beads. Thus it is not something magical or suppose to be health giving etc... Buying it is like buying any other decorative pieces - but never in the name sake of Feng Shui or cures. Some like it, buy it and are happy over it, that's fine. Australians have their opal mines .. opals... the Chinese (and Mynmar formerly Burma) have their jade. These are more "valuable" assets.. Quote: Anonymous wrote: i know i'm very new at this.Your thoughts on dzi beads, positive or more useless bought objects?
  20. 1. If Flying Star Feng Shui is applied:- 1.1 If the home is a Period 7: 1984 to 2003 and is a NW1 or NW2 or NW3 home. The water wealth is located at the centre of the home. This type of home, is considered as having "small" luck because the water wealth is "trapped" at the centre of the home. Thus, a water feature can be placed here to bring "small" luck. 1.2 For many new homes built from 2004 to 2023, then the base is #8 and not so advantages to have a water position at the centrepoint of the home. Unless there is moving water flowing from the front to the centre or if the drainage out of the home has been properly looked at from a Feng Shui point of view. 1.3 Many Period 7 homes have a combination of #5 with #9 at the centre of the home. For example: West 2 / 3 homes. Thus, such water feature can still be used, here. Thus, from the above, it depends!
  21. Dear Michelle, 1. It is very common for the type of development you had mentioned not to have a costly basement. In fact, majority of such apartments both in Telok Kurau and many locations in Singapore. 2. The major concern with having a car park right below any apartment unit are: 2.1 Although a fire breaking out i.e. a car on fire is rare, but should a car or van burst into flames, the logic is that fire rises upwards. 2.2 Some Feng Shui practitioners don't like homes that are not "grounded" on the ground.. Such homes are considered as sitting on "stilts" or not on firm ground. Thus for example, homes above a shopping complex or above a carpark to these Feng Shui practitioners is a major concern. 3. Thus, Para 2.2 has made some would be owners concerned with such units. 4. Since the apartment is on the fourth floor and not second, then, you can expect "some privacy" as the unit is higher. The advantage for such a unit (at higher floor) is often, "guaranteed" clear space at the frontage (main entrance area). This is acceptable as qi is best "collected" at such a "bright hall" area. 5. As you may be aware some units that face neighbours sidewalls are subjected to varying views or sometimes "ugly" views or if that site has been purchased to built apartments, there goes your privacy and "frontage". 6. Telok Kurau, has one of the highest concentration of temples around. So, do check out where these temples are in relation to the home. And also check for any pointed roofs aimed towards the windows of the apartment. Quote: Michelle Y. wrote: Hi Cecil, I would like to seek your advices on the fengshui of a freehold apartment. Presently I am looking at a particular unit in one of the project at Telok Kurau. This unit is on the 4th level, however this unit is facing the main entrance. And the parking is on the ground floor (there is no basement car park). As a result, the driveway is underneath theliving room and one of the bedroom. 1. Is it bad fengshui for the living room and the bedroom ? 2. Is it bad fengshui for an apartment to be facing the main entrance of the project at all ?
  22. Dear Keith, 1. It is good that you do a SEARCH under this forum to find your subject matter. For example, use the SEARCH feature for #5 or Five yellow. 2. There are various combination of star numbers with or without #5. Thus #5 can be combined with either one or both or all of #2, #3, #7 and another #5. Each of these have somewhat slightly different significance. 3. About commercial products: In my opinion, many products that one has purchased usually lines the pocket of the seller. In ancient times, there are no such products. Thus many use "in the name of Feng Shui" to sell this and that product. In my opinion, products are modern invention, mostly toentice us to depart with our hard earned money. And frankly, many such products should be considered as interior decoration items than some special mystic help. 4. More importantly, buying such products are like some people who think that buying more and more is like pathing their home with gold. 5, BUT, look here: if our home is like a ship or a boat, and if it suffers from just a small leak, no point over loading the home (ship) with useless products.. and not realising that we need to fix the leak, first! 6. Thus all these products can gather dusts or even later thrown away.... are they of any use? Warmest Regards, Cecil

  24. 1. Many of us are totally focused only on just our Kua or Gua (Eight House) Feng Shui. 2. But more importantly, the House "Gua" or Kua is more important factor. House Gua often is based both on Shapes and Forms Feng Shui and Flying Star Feng Shui. 3. For personal Gua or Kua, do take note that between facing a good direction and spending time at a good sector, "spending time" prevails over facing a good direction. Although facing a good direction is "Nice-to-have" and not a must-have factor. 4. Lets go back to the start... if we can reverse time: "Finding a good home": Here, the "house gua" or simply Flying Star is used to look at the birth chart of the home. 5. And the question of how suitable a house is to us is often evaluated by us being an East or West group. And also some Feng Shui practitioners factor in Bedroom = good sector not, Toilet, store etc.. hopefully belong to our gua bad sectors would be best. 6. A short statement like yours or message (see below) is too general. Quote: Anonymous wrote: My bedroom and bathroom are in the career area. What can i do to improve my career? Kua is 2.
  25. Dear Zahid Such a question is too general, please. Quote: Anonymous wrote: plz also suggest me something for my home what should i do to improve my wealth luck.
