Dear Sophia, Symbolically under Feng Shui, it is good like you mention to rectify such "physical" leaks in the shop. Usually, if you have rented your shop, you should try to seek redress from your leassor. Since the shop is still new, try to check out who is the developer as often such building defects is covered by the developer. Warmest Regards, Cecil
  2. Dear Ken, In my opinion, the best way to understand or have a better understanding of the whole approach to "Luck" is to simply understand the "Holy Trinity of Luck":- Here, this holy trinity of luck are:- 1. Heaven Luck - What is suppose to be - what we are born with (or without)! 2. Earth Luck - Feng Shui of our home / office .... 3. Human Luck - Relationships with each other and pets can be considered under this category! Under Para 3, above, frankly, we should not be looking at things like : a cat suitable for my ba zi or a dog; white mice? Guinea pig, rabbit? But rather, the responsibilities to care for them etc... As most of us are aware, dogs have been bred for many years as a companion for humans. Cats are also bred ...here. While, like you have mentioned, snakes have always being associated with "evil" e.g. enticing Adam to eat an apple... (Adam and eve kind of saga)...And in particular, they are slippery .... Overall, under Human Luck factors, we often see or (I often see) newly married couples .... rearing pet dogs or cats. But later, when they really have children... many still keep them while some simply change their priorities.. or simply have no time to up-keep their pets! In my opinion, we should not match our horoscope with the type of animals to be kept! Since there are large ones! Such as an OX, Tiger (fierce and unpredictable and endangered) ... etc... Warmest Regards, Cecil Quote: K Chin wrote: I have been told that, different pets may affect one's luck and I'm wondering if this is true. 3. Dear Norman, Based on your last message, it would seem that your home's Flying Star chart should be a Period 7 chart. And in addition, you just mentioned that your home is a South facing apartment. Since you did not mention which South facing apartment it is: as it could either be a South 1 (165 degrees) or South 2 (180 deg.) or South 3 (195 degrees). Most likely, if your home is a South 2 (180) or South 3 (195 degrees) then under the Flying star Feng shui, this south facing frontage has a mountain #8 water #6 and base (palace star) of #2. Under the current Flying Star Feng Shui:- #8 = current prosperity #9 = future prosperity #1 = future, future prosperity. Well it is hard to understand where your fish tank is currently based on description (only). But, if your homehas a Period 7 S2 or S3 Flying Star chart then, it would not be adviceable to place a water feature at the frontage (south) of the home. This is because as mentioned above, S2 or S3 home has a MOUNTAIN star #8 (which is associated with networking, relationship luck) and a water feature, will DROWN this mountain. For example it is like digging a hole; placing water and literally drowning or SINKING the mountain wealth sector! Warmest Regards, Cecil Norman Leonor wrote: Can you give me advice to where should i place my fish tank in the house? My house is sitting North, facing South. 4. Dear Leonor, In my opinion, since this house was built in the early 1990's usually, it should be a Period 7 chart unless, there were (especially) major renovations done on or after 2004. Warmest Regards, Cecil Norman Leonor wrote: I would like to know what period should i use to make the lu shou chart for the house we are renting. The washousebuilt sometime in the early 1990's, and that should beperiod 7, but we just moved here in 2005 last yearthe month of May and this would be period 8. I read an article saying that the period you should use is the time when you moved to your new home not the time the house was built. I so confused... Help me please.
  5. Dear Keith, Actually, this is related to the concept of the "frontage" of the home. Here, what Feng Shui is most concerned about is the relation of the frontage of the home vs the amount of "openings" at the frontage. For example, most or all homes will either have door(s); windows or windows cum sliding doors etc... Under Feng Shui, what is MOST important is that the FRONTAGE of a home should be PROPORTIONATE to the frontage of the home. For example, if a home as a set of main doors and in addition, there is a row of sliding doors: the situation, here is that if all these doors and sliding windows are opened, it would suggest that if one has marriageable family members in the home e.g. a son etc... they will often not get married. The solution is not to open all the openings of the home at one go. In Singapore, it is most common also to find homes with double doors and/or double-equal doors or doors that have one smaller-leaf. Both are equally acceptable! So long as the doors open inwards. (Excluding any grille gates that logically have to open outwards.) Thus in my opinion, this is not the main concern. But the main concern as mentioned earlier is the proportion of opening at the frontage of the home vs the entire frontage. Warmest Regards, Cecil
  6. Dear Chin, For the lay-person, another much easier method is to try to "locate" the largest rectangular shape-of-the diamond apartment where, there is minimum protrusion. Please check my second method so that you can understand better how to find the centrepoint or "centre-of-gravity" of the apartment. If one compares my earlier centrepoint and this one, they are very close to each other. Warmest Regards, Cecil
  7. Dear Chin, Please see attachment. I have drawn for you the centrepoint of your apartment. K Chin wrote: I need your advice. Is there any method to divide these "irregular-shape" flat into 9-sectors or 9-boxes ? I would like to find out where are the bad, auspicious etc. sectors. Actually, the centrepoint of a home or apartment can also be known as the "centre-of-gravity" of a home (apartment). Thus, if one really is at a loss on how to find the centrepoint:- Step 1: Photo copy the layout plan. Step 2: Obtain a cardboard. Step 3: Paste the photo-copy of the layout plan on the cardboard. Step 4: Cut-out the outline of the apartment. Step 5: Get a nail and try to balance the cardboard on it. Usually the point where the cardboard is balanced on the pin is known as the "centre-of-gravity" thus can be considered as the centre-of-the-apartment. Why not have a curtain at that part of the window box facing the main door. Warmest Regards, Cecil
  8. Dear Wei Li, Actually, this year, Grand Duke is suppose to be in the North-West. While north is the 3 killings. What is more important is that Grand Duke is in NW and not North, thus, there is no clash with Grand Duke, this year for the study table at the North. The 3 killings north is that one should not do renovations, this year and does not affect the placement of work station, there. Warmest Regards, Cecil Lim Wei Li Lim Wei Li wrote: You have done reading for us before. However, I am confused of this. I was reading the materials you gave us. 9. Dear Anon, Anonymous wrote: Hello there, I have tried your free report and it seems I have reviewed it and it contradicts to what happenned in the period of my life. Example is that I have "Luck againts me" during the best time of my life period in which I have been lucky in wealth, fame, and almost everything. I consulted your free report to find out what happened to my luck. These times I am wondering what happenned to my luck, but it seem in your report I am approaching my luck in 10 years. If that is so I want to know why is like that, and if so how can I enhance my luck these times (on this period and on the coming period) better. Thanks any advice and expalanation is very much appreciated. The free report only gives a very basic knowledge of your 10-yearly big luck (meaning whether the luck period falls under luck with you or luck against you). This only helps to tell you whether you are considered generally very very luck person with luck mostly on your side (ie a person born with a silver spoon or not). Or are you one that is like average or have to face lots of hardships in your life. So that free analysis will not be useful in helping you troubleshoot your past event/future events. As whether or not a luck is eventually good or bad, depends on the overall interaction of the 10-year, 5-yearly, yearly, 6-monthly, monthly luck. For example:- This example I show you is of a person with very good 10-year luck, but in this particular year, due to the lots of clases etc, it is no longer a good year:- Luck (9) [2059 to 2068] is an auspicious period as it favours your 10 yearly Big Luck Period. 10. Dear Georgy, 1. Frankly, in my opinion, we should not place a bagua mirror just for the sake of "placing one" or basically to follow theJones (or next door neighbour!) 2. What is more important is that like life there must be a purpose? So what is the actual purpose of placing a mirror? 2.1 Protection (from evil "spirits") Usually, the First Heaven sequence is used. And many of the ba gua mirrors also contain a picture of the door god(s). In the past, I had posted actual pictures of "authentic" ba gua mirrors used in Singapore. 2.2 Deflect poison arrows A convex mirror is used, here. With or without the first heaven sequnce trigram. 2.3 Absorb "wealth" or neutralise a missing corner A concave mirror is used, here. Where it is placed in the middle of the first heaven sequence trigram. 3. Never place the ba gua mirror facing inwards of the home. For two main doors in line one after the other, often, a ba gua mirror is not used, here. Especially if the second door is the inner door. For whatever reason, it should be placed on the outer door - especially if there are poison arrows or sha qi as mentioned, earlier. If the reason is just that the two doors line up, then I am afraid, one should not use the Ba Gua mirror. Warmest Regards, Cecil Georgy Ivanov wrote: In my country don't sells bagua mirror.I one market i found bagua but in center isn't mirror a ying-yang simbol. The trigrams are The First Heaven Sequence. 11. Dear Anon, Oops! Simply plain unlucky to have such a neighbour! Often, to be honest, sometimes there is nothing much we can do since this is common property! Logically, we could try to speak to our neighbour, first. (Crossing-fingers). But if cannot help... perhaps... long shot.. go to the neighbourhood "management"... if all these seems a hopeless idea... really sorry, though.. erh.. resign to fate.. already! Warmest Regards, Cecil P.S. There are situations where, on occasions, if the neighbour does not have cctv camera or survelliance or anyone watching... JUST pray.. that all these things "disappear!". HINT: some one goes to steal all these "yucky" items and throw them away! Blame it on the cleaners? Hahaha....! 12. Dear Anon, For landed properties (with privacy) all round e.g. no tall buildings that can have a view or peer into the home thru the sky light, the use of sky light is acceptable! In ancient Chinese buildings, or homes may homes have an open court-yard akin to letting light into the home or close to the concept of the skylight. The only issue is to avoid placing a single tree in the middle of the home and have a skylight shining down. In the past, I had mentioned that this is similar to the word "KUN" in Chinese and very inasupicious. However, if there is no single lone tree, it is still acceptable. Nowadays, in Singapore, many terrace homes resort to adding transparent roof tiles above their house staircase to bring in light into the home. This is perfectly acceptable and a "wise" choice! Warmest Regards, Cecil Anonymous wrote: How about a window in the roof, skylight, in the bedroom. 13. Dear Anon, 1. Looking into past practises; it is popular for the Cantonese (dialect group of the Chinese) to place a wall mirror facing their dining table. The Cantonese felt that having a mirror in this postion would be "auspicious" as food on the dining table can be "doubled" with the mirror image. 2.For interior designers,a large mirror is often recommended as most of us are aware of to create an illusion of depth orseemingly make the home look larger. 3. To be honest, having a mirror behind the sofa is often, less than idealalthough it can still be done or still acceptable. However, for practical reasons, if thesofa-head-rest is too close to the mirror, often,we may get "marks" e.g. greasy hair stains or smudges on the glass- thus may haveto spent some time or effort to clean it. 4. More importantly, for those who stay at higher floors or storeys, it is best to specify to the contractor that youwant a ONE single piece of wall glass. 5. This is because, more commonly, may apartments or access to many apartments are "restricted" by the size of the lift! Thus the contractor may not want (nor their workers) want to walk up the stairs carrying a large piece of glass! They often cut-it-into-two pieces and push it into the lift (escalator). 6. If so, try to check out the attachment, below. Two pieces of glass does not look visually appealing as it seems like "cutting" the room into two. If really ONE piece is not feasible, then go for two pieces of glass, instead! Warmest Regards, Cecil Anonymous wrote: Hi, I am renovating my house and would like to add a mirror to my wall to 'enlarge' the living room. 14. Dear Sophia, The most popular items to the buddhists are the 8-treasures. In the past, under the photos directory, I had posted a temple hanging large posters of the 8 treasures. Besides this, the buddhists believe in 14 other treasures (objects) such as boooks, cups, banana leaf, money.... The closest to tea-pot is a bowl-of-precious things. Otherwise, or thus, this "tea-pot" giving, in my opinion, can be considered as a "modern invention" or sales/marketing items ..sold... Frankly, it saying goes "it is the thought that counts!". Thus, it so nice of your friend to give you the 7 minature tea pot. Perhaps, why 7? Hmmm my guess is that there are 7 days in a week, thus it could "symbolise" or the 7 tea-pots, could mean that you may have "tea" all week round? Erh... hope this sounds sensible! In ancient times, while for the actual drinking of tea; in the Tang dynasty; black tea has a god. And in ancient times if one were to purchase 10 tea pots; a clay figure of the ancient god of tea was given away with this 10 set purchase.... In my opinion, since there are no ill connotations, here, I believe, there is no issue in displaying this gift especially around the dining area or a display shelf. Warmest Regards, Cecil Quote: Sophia Chia wrote: A friend ofus gave us a gift during Chinese New Year with a frame of 7 miniature tea pot. Dear Cheryl, In my opinion, there should not be an issue with the situation that you had described. From a Feng Shui point of view, this is not an issue. There are some concern by some people only if there is a upper floor e.g. bedroom just above the car-porch. In such a situation, someone said that in the event that a car caught fire, it would be dangerous to have the car below this bedroom. But to be honest, how often have we heard that stationary cars catch fire. Alternatively, smoke detectors or fire safety sensors could be used, here. Warmest Regards, Cecil cheryl ludwig wrote: I am going to purchase a house. 16. Dear Joshua, Joshua Chia wrote: For me, the eight house report has indicated that NW would be a good location. How do I locate the best facing postiton of my master bed room? Does it mean that my master bedroom door has to face NW. Thanks In general, there should be at least 4 good sectors that are good for you. So get a layout plan of the house, or stand at the center of the house. Determine where is the North direction, and divide the house into the other sectors. So if your bedroom is located at the South, and South if your Heath sector, it is a suitable bedroom for you. If it is South is Spook sector, then it is not so suitable for you. As long as the bedroom is located in of the 3 other good sectors, then it will be deemed favourable for you. The breadwinner must focus on a good and suitable house facing, while the rest of the family should focus on a good bedroom to draw luck from the bedroom. Hope that helps. The Flying Star concept assess your the feng shui of the house based on the facing and period the house was build. While Eight Aspiration (based on ba gua), gives a general intepretation of what each direction is represented in general. In applying feng shui, always go for personalised analysis first. Meaning Flying Star is more important than Ba Gua analaysis simply because flying star is personalised to the home, while ba gua is general. In any case, if you are looking for career enhancements, you should focus on the house main door and your bedroom sectors based on the flying star and eight house because these affects you most. Apartment (8th level and up), facing from the living room/balcony. 3. Landed Property, the house/buildting facing direction. If you take the main door from the center of the house, then the sector and main door will fall in the same sector. But this will only be used to assess interior of the house only. Don't be believe in using like 6-coins to balance up this sector. It won't do you much good as if there is a fire, the coins will probably melt.
