  1. HDB DBSS Park Central @ Ang Mo Kio St 52, just TOP recently. Conveniently near-by to the Ang Mo Kio Central MRT station and opposite the Cheng San market cum food-court.
  2. Frankly, it is a small issue. For now, anyone can easily from the outside, press the internal exit door switch to open the security gate. I believe no issue, a box cover could easily be placed onto the exit switch... Location: The Livia condo at Pasir Ris
  3. Frankly, in my opinion, the river is running parallel to your home. And your home is furthest away from the river. Secondly, I understand it is a very dirty river as nearly all rubbish goes into it. But think about it; this river is not 1 km or 2 km or even 5 km's in length. It has tributaries and this river is in terms of British term "bloody long!". This Klang river is hell of a long. And many developments are even close to the fringe of it. In fact, all rivers today, in Malaysia hell of a dirty. Imagine all those night hawker stalls draining off their pollutants into it. This is Malaysia's standard of river. In Singapore, 30 to 50 years ago is like that. For a major river, large concentration of population; don't expect it to be clear for sure...
  4. 1. In hokkien prawns or "hei" alone is fine. 2. But added with other nonsense words = Kiao hei bee = Die like a shrimp (all curled up) 3. Another famous hokkien saying is " Wu Hu are Hei are Ho"; So long as got fish or prawns is OK. 4. So, "hei" on it's own phoentic sounding in Hokkien is technically ok. But when made into a string of words as mentioned under para 2 is no good. But under Para 3, is ok or fine.
  5. Frankly, Feng Shui is about the bigger picture. For example, if the location is identified to be a "water wealth location"; a fish tank is full of water. And how much weight or volume those mini prawns are? Onemust also consider the lifespan of the prawns and any maintenance if any.
  6. 1. In my opinion, this is a very long snaking river that is from East (K L) flowing west towards the mouth of the river close to the Port Klang area. 2. It is good that this river has a high river bank. 3.In my opinion, should generally be OK. In fact along the large stretch of this river; there are tributories and it is a pretty long river. And along the river there are lots of development. 4. Quite exclusive area. 5. South facing from now to 2023 is OK or better than your neighbour's North facing home.
  7. 1. Please refer to attachment - center of gravity. 2. Your second question has "missing-links".To understand, better:- Feng Shui Triage
  8. 1. In Singapore which is at the equator, the geographic north is very close (or equal to) the magnetic north. 2. If you have the time, can go thru some of the resources, under this link:- http://forum.geomancy.net/phpforum/article.php?bid=2&fid=6&mid=27494&new 3. If your condo is fairly new (less than 10 years old); most likely, the siteplan is still available from the sales brochure or on the internet. Or goto http://onemap.sg to use the streetdirectory plan and a protractor to obtain the correct compass readings. 4. Your readings often differ due to magnetic influence from steel structures embedded in the columns and even floorings. 5. Alternatively you may take compass readings from the exterior; e.g. grass area (provided there are no remants of steel or metal somewhere hidden.) 6. In your case, based on the most yang qi: you should use the compass readings standing inside each room looking out of the rooms or standing inside the living room looking outwards. 7. The only pity is all your readings are diverse. 8. If you are using a iphone 4 compass then try to set to TRUE NORTH vs MAGNETIC NORTH (for those in the equator only). If you don't live near the equator e.g. in the United States of America; better set to the Magnetic North.
  9. These are some considerations: 1. Under symbolism in Feng Shui, instead of hanging mirrors and faceted crystal balls; in traditional Feng Shui; a hulu or bottle gourd is often used, instead. 2. As mentioned in many previous messages; usually; in general bad Feng Shui arise when a home has three or more major "leaks". 3. Often, although the toilet is considered as ONE major leak; often it is the combination of this leak plus two or more major leaks (or a combination of several minor leaks into one).
  10. Note: the attachment is strictly based on both Common sense and Shapes & Forms Feng Shui. Does not take into consideration the best bed-head direction(s) based on the Eight House or Four Good/Bad directions. 1. The main concern is the air-con vents. 2. In your orginal layout plan, assuming that one often turns on the air-con; the bed and (bed-head - body) is very close to the air-con vents. 3. Thus, because of the air-con, the bed has been moved. Of course, because of the new location of the sofa, make sure that air-con vents don't blow directly towards it. 4. If you maintain the original layout plan, then one may like to Cabinet / three doors with the TV console. As it is more natural to see TV in that position.
  11. 1. My most recentSuunto compass is the model: Suunto KB-14/360 PTI COMPASS ZO for REGION 3. http://forum.geomancy.net/phpforum/article.php?bid=2&fid=6&mid=27494&new 2. However, it has been with more for around 3 to 4 years. Costs around I forgot approximately SGP $260 thereabouts. 3. I bought it at Far East Plaza (basement). There are two suba-diving shops at the basement. 4. Make sure that to check out the above link where the back aluminium face-plate has been stamped with a Number : #3 = region THREE for Singapore use. For other countries, there is a correction markings also on the back for declination deviations. 5. Below has a link to my older plastic body Suunto compass (which I had lost):- http://forum.geomancy.net/phpforum/article.php?bid=2&fid=6&mid=8615&new=%3EHouse%20Hunting%20:%20A%20Lot%20Position%20-%20%3Cem%3EFeng%20Shui%3C/em 6. Please note that if you are not into professional Feng Shui, don't really need to invest in such a compass. 7. Do take note that these Suunto compass should also not be too close to concrete/re-bar pillars. 8. I am not sure if this model is still around: Suunto KB-14/360 PTI COMPASS ZO as I have it for around 3 to4 years ago after losing my earlier plastic casing Suunto as found in the second link.
  12. Usually for a west group, of course SW to West to NW forms a continous range. Thus for practical reasons, if the bedroom is small or tiny, could face these range instead of tilting.
  13. These are some considerations: 1. True North All streetdirectory maps be it printed or on soft-copy are based on True North (Geographic North). Even google GPS maps that we download and use are also based on true north. 2. If one is at or close to the equator, the angle of difference between True North and Magnetic North or this angle is called declination is slight. 3. Those professional compass, like my favourite i.e. brand Suunto has land-compass that are grouped into 5 regions. At the equator (or equator) use; the Number is 3. 4. In many of the past forum messages, I had posted especially at the equator, one can use a streetdirectory, super-impose the protractor and match the "facing direction" of a home with it. 5. At the equator or in Singapore; Iphone 4's compass has two settings: True North and Magnetic Compass. 5.1. If one tries to use the Iphone 4's compass to take a reading inside the home, it is preferred to set to TRUE NORTH. This is because, majority of Singapore homes are built of bricks and cement with steel re-bar. And if one is too close to a pillar, the readings may be inaccurate. 5.2. Please note that even if one is not close to the support beams or walls, many homes or apartments also have steel wires or steel re-bars that line each of the floors. And if one is standing above steel "cage like" structures, the readings may be inaccurate. 6. Thus to use the streetdirectory + protractor + match the interior layout to it and then plot it onto a layout plan i.e. the compass cardinal points and look into each room compass directions. 7. If the Iphone Luopan application has option to use True north or magnetic north; in Singapore, close to the equator, one can use the True North indoors. But if one is further north, the futher one is north or south, then the declination error rate is high. 8. Thus if at the North Pole, the TRUE geographic North can differ from the Magnetic north by at least 500 kms!
  14. 1.It is always best to beclear. 2. Under Flying Star Feng Shui,it is about compass directions. 3. For example, maybe to you; you are clear about the"right" side. 4. To me,I would consider the median point of the home and to the right side can be vast: NE,East and SE. 5. While the left side of North can have NW, West and SW. 6. It is preferred not to have the kitche at NW: if you do call this the LEFT side. 7. With such a hazy term call RIGHT side (or even LEFT) side... it's anyone's guess. 8. Even for a trapezoid shaped home, make sure that the top-view profile of the home is as rectangular as possible.
  15. What you mentioned sounds logical. However, since many herbs comes or derive there nourishment from the soil (earth); some may associate it with earth. Overall, a tradition Chinese practitioner often can be associated with the wood element. Again, there is no absolute right or wrong answers.
  16. Yesterday, went for an appointment, near-by. This food stall (operated by a mainland Chinese) in the Midview Building at Bukit Batok has the signage that says " Everyone OK kitchen".
  17. Please refer to attachment: Under Flying Star Feng Shui; and even Eight House Feng Shui; what is the difference between: standing at:- A looking out towards B C towards D E towards F G towards H I towards J? Additional Resources:- Eight House or Flying Star
  18. It is good that you have understood the major concepts. And re-adjusted the center-of-gravity by not taking into consideration the veranda. This good. As for the internal changes; generally you have acceptable understanding of the concepts. As far, as this forum goes, firstly we don't go deep into the internal organs especially just looking on a very rough sketch. There are things like doors, windows, purely the actual layout. Therefore, it is up to you to try and maximize or work out the layout based on all the concepts that you had understood.
  19. 1. In this case, given that you might not want to redo the cabinet at A; then based on this decision; "D" is by the best choice. While the other option at the corridor is definitely not practical or close to being ridiculous based the layout plan. 2. Sorry, my principle is never endorse shops specific to Feng Shui items. Always bring along a ruler or better still a Feng Shui ruler when buying an altar. The easiest is to make sure that the top and bottom measurements are all in RED for altar. 3. Usually the top markings are for Yang or for the living. 4. While the lower markings on the Feng Shui ruler is for the dead or deity. 5. Thus for an altar, it MUST best be the harmony of both Yin and Yang. 6. Standard height for any altar: 125cm to 128cm. If a piece of glass is to be placed on the altar, then go for 125cm. Width depends on your needs: 18cm to 23cm or 40cm to 43cm or 59.5cm to 69cm Length: 41cm to 43cm or 59.5cm to 69cm or 71cm or 89cm or 107cm or 148cm 7. Often if one is placing a deity e.g. Guan Yin or other deity, one can purchase a Luopan and place it horizontally below such a deity "to increase it's stength. Placing it vertically behind the Guan Yin (needs expert help so don't ever place vertical unless it is via a Geomancer) For an ancestor table, Para 7 does not apply.
  20. In my opinion, both your questions can be categorized as: common sense. 1. Most people may feel uncomfortable with our back against a door or opening. If it is an office environment, a mirror, much like the rear view kind, may be mounted nearby or on the edge if monitor screen. Also applies for the home. 2. Curtains must be washed often to avoid germs and bacterial to grow. 3. Closing the door is ok.

Some apartmetns are like a 10 year run-down 1,000cc car. No matter how one tries to improve the car; can't pretend that next day, this run-down car becomes a BMW or Mercedes. Frankly, all these need to be investigated and reviewed and analysed before one can even comment on such things. 22. 1. Honestly, as all of us know, for an apartment, there is no way we can relocate a toilet. 2. In previous forum messages, I had mentioned that often it takes more than 3 or more MAJOR"leaks" to make the Feng Shui negative in a home or apartment. 3. Thus, a toilet at the centre of the apartment is considered as just ONE MAJORleak. 4. Therefore, in your case, if you are applying Feng Shui; then make sure that your apartment has no more than 2 or more MAJOR leaks. 5. The most sensible approach or rather common sense approach is to read up the following:- The Concept of Maximizing Marks
  23. A) Beside balcony, faces an opposite wall behind. No sun.
  24. Location: Clover by the Park Condo, Bishan Street 25(Recently TOP in August 2011) The condo opted for bomb shelters at the common staircase instead of having a household (bomb) shelter in individual units. This allows for better planning of the interior layout without having to work the layout plan around this household (bomb) shelter. -- Notice pasted on each bomb shelter door -- This staircase is designed to serve as civil defence sotrey shelters (SS) during a war emergency for residents who do not have civil defence household shelters in their units. Staircase SS are povided under the Civil Defence Shelter Act 1997. Conversion of Staircase into Civil Defence Storey Shelters: In the event of an impending war emergency, the Singapore Civil Defence Force (SCDF) will announce appropriate instructions to the population. Within the time period specified in the announcement, the building Management Corporation (MC) will manage the conversion of the staircase into a series of adjoining SS, compartmented from one another by SS doors at staircase entrances and landings, The onversion taks may be found in the staircase Storey Shelter Operation and Maintenance Manual held by the MC. During a War Emergency: The MC is expected to manage the staircase SS according to guidelines given in the aforesaid manual. Generally, for their own protection when the "Alarm" signal has been sounded or given, residents are to: - Move into their allocated SS without delay, close the entrance SS door and all adjoining landing SS doors by putting the door handles to "Position B" (as shown in the diagram below). - Reamin in their allocated SS and not move into adjoining SS. For protection reasons, it is important to ensure all SS doors are fully closed and the door handles kept in "Postion B", to maintain every SS as a separate compartment. - Switch on the radio or TV set to receive information on the war emergency and any instructions from the SCDF. Use the telephone set as necessary. - Open the entrance SS door and leave the SS only after the "All Clear" signal has been sounded or given.
