Hi, Feng Shui should be personalized to an individual to be effective. The most common question asked is: Can something so general be applied to everyone of us? The answer is No. Similiarly, even a " famous Feng Shui Master " should not say that it can apply to anyone. In the Internet or around you, do question any Feng Shui Practioner. Ask them what is the reason for saying so. Each person who says something should backup their words with a reasonal explanation or if it based only on their opinion, I guess, each of us have the right to judge for ourselves. Another way of looking at this situation is, what was mentioned by this " famous Feng Shui Master " does not go down…

Dear Simon, Don't worry about it. I understand that you are very young and not the bread winner (not yet I guess). For you, empasis should be placed in your bedroom. One important consideration under Feng Shui is that your Ba Zhi (Eight Characters), for example, the colours of the room should not `clash' with your personal element. You can also take advantage of the Eight House Theory i.e. sleep and study facing one of your good directions. Wishing you continued success in your studies! Dear Shelley, I glad that you find the site useful. Feel free to use the " Search " feature on most pages of the website or for specific messages, login to this forum, there is also a Search icon. This is one of the most easiest way to search through the vast amounts of information available in this website. To answer your question: 1. The correct Romanized words for Feng Shui is : " Feng Shui ". The rest of the spelling are not proper way to write Feng Shui. 2. For more about the North-South debate go to this url: http://www.geomancy.net/fs/addsites.htm#SOUTH In general, most Feng Shui practioners (Traditional Schools) like myself believe that you do not need to alter …

Dear Cecil, I would be interested in learning more about this, also. Would this topic be included in Shapes & Form School? I love gardening and am curious if my vegetables and flowers are affecting the feng shui of my home.

Hi Cassandra Before going any further, I must ask, have you done a Pillars of Destiny Chart (there is a free one on this site) to find out your element ? If not may I suggest you do as if the colors chosen are not complimentary to your element you could have all sorts of problems. IMHO orange seems very strong for a bedroom. Too yang. Needs to be more yin otherwise sleep may be restless. Under the Eight House Directions is your bedroom in one of your auspicious sectors ? Best wishes Glyn

Dear Donna, Thanks for your detailed information about the various fountains. Overall, when purchasing a fountain please take note of the following:- 1. Circular fountains are ideal. (Avoid purchasing any fountains with pointed edges, rounded edges are the best). 2. Avoid placing any rocks that symbolises a creature or some unknown shape resembling a person, an animal etc.. 3. Avoid having an animal or fish or any other objects with their `mouth' open facing the house. This will create problems for the breadwinner as a hungry mouth symbolizes a need to feed it. This may bring illness or loss of fortune to the household. 4. A fountain should not be `cluttered' with figurin…

Joanne Books are considered like "knives" in Feng Shui. The ones in your storage room are not a problem, but I would remove those from beside your bed or cover them at night. As for the ones in the hallway, perhaps you could put some small pot plants with trailing branches among the shelves to soften the sharpness or a couple in a pot on the ground to somewhat "hide" the shelves. Cecil can no doubt give you more info. However, the former is what I have done in my study. Best wishes Glyn

Dear John, Where best avoid purchasing a house with the lift well. This is not good especially it is so close to your main door. The thickness of the wall will also affect the influence. A brief look at the combination effects of the elements looks ok as the elements seems to contain the inauspicious effects. For a more detailed analysis, you can refer to the Flying Star module. If your have auspicious stars such as double 77, it is best if it is found in the main door otherwise the next best alternative is your bedroom or some place where you commonly use. H However, if it is not found in at the main door then, you will not be able take advantage of the add…

Dear Felicia, In this situation, we can apply the Yin and Yang Principle. Under the Yin and Yang Principle, grave sites and the Church are considered " Yin ". In such a situation, you need to counteract this with Yang element. What you can do here is:- 1. If your house has brick walls, natural red brick walls are ideal. Red is the most Yang of all the colours. 2. If the walls are plastered and smoothed, you can paint this side of the wall red or any other Yang colours e.g. bright green, bright blue etc... 3. For the window frame, you should also paint it in matching bright colours. 4. Avoid too many trees particularly large ones as this can harbour the `spirits'. Please a…

Dear Helen, Sorry for the delay in response. You can use `metal' element to counteract the timber as metal destroys wood. You can place e.g. metal tin `circular' metal tin foil on each beam:- 1. Stick 6 metal tin foils or 6 coins on each timber piece. The coins can be any coins e.g. diameter can be 2.5 cm or more. Chinese " ancient " coins (those with square holes in the centre are equally acceptable. If you use the " ancient " coins you can string them with red string and stick them on each beam. 2. What is the purpose? 6 coins represents Big Metal and is used to counter wooden beams. Under the 5 elements concept, Metal destroys Wood. Warmest Regards, Cecil Lee

Dear Suzhen, Apologise for the delay in reply. Currently I am unable to do any more house audits for the time being because of my schedule and projects for the website. Perhaps, you may want to get assistance from other Feng Shui Practioners in Singapore. Due to my tight schedule, I am unable to provide assistance in your case or go thru them in detail. What you have analysed using the Eight House Theory is not enough to find out your various `problems'. This is because the Eight House Theory is not a `diagnostic' tool of Feng Shui. More refined tools that can aid a better understanding or improve your situation includes the anaysis of your house using the Flying Star and…

Dear Marissa, Please read below:- -----Original Message----- From: Listmanager To: Recipients of 'free-advice' suppressed suppressed> Date: Saturday, June 26, 1999 11:57 PM Subject: flying star Flying Star is a complex theory which uses numbers of stars to deduce the good and bad influences. If you generated your free flying star report, you would have seen the full analysis of the flying star for the North-West sector of the house. The rest will not be analysed for you. The analysis is very complex as you need to understand many of the underlying concepts in order to be able to deduce the relationship of the numbers found in the room. Thus, we have come up with …

Dear Glyn, Please read below:- -----Original Message----- From: Listmanager To: Recipients of 'free-advice' suppressed suppressed> Date: Monday, June 28, 1999 7:22 AM Subject: Before the event It is often easy to comment on a past event, as they can often put all sort of reasons to link the event to the charts. However, in order to predict the event, the person doing the chart has to obtain many information about the person in order to be able to predict the events. Remember that a Pillars is only the heavenly influence. You need to match it with your earthly events. Only then can you see the interaction and thus able to predict the terms of events. Well, it …

Also, see if the house is suitable for the two of you. If they are, then the problem could be because you have inauspicious stars which surrounds the rooms in your house, such as star 3 or some other bad combinations, which can be deduced with the Flying Star of the house. Next, look around the …

Dear Jason, Please read below:- -----Original Message----- From: Listmanager To: Recipients of 'free-advice' suppressed suppressed> Date: Monday, June 28, 1999 2:07 PM Subject: Office FengShui If you only have a partition, then you cannot really apply the Flying Star, as it is too small an area for a house/office evaluation type. You can make use of the Eight House instead to face and work in your best direction. The only way you can do it is to use the entrance to the entire office, then take the subsector which you partition resides in. Warmest Regards Robert Lee

Dear James, Apologise for the late reply, this mail was apparently not sent to my e-mail account. Personally, I feel that there is actually no need to purchase special amulet or ornaments for yourself or your home. It is equally effective to use any simple remedy, so long as it suits your personal element. For example, if you are a weak water, then using metal (such as any necklace, etc) would bring you luck. So I feel that it is more important to suit and enhance your element rather then to believe in a special sort of ornaments. Warmest Regards Robert Lee

Dear Nicole, Please read below:- ----- Original Message ----- From: Listmanager To: Sent: Friday, July 02, 1999 3:55 AM Subject: Decorating You can use the computerized Five Element Cure module to generate a report for all your elements and destructive influences. Just create an account at http://www.geomancy-online.com. I am assuming that your element is weak water, so what is beneficial to you is metal. Earth is also beneficial (produces metal which in turn produces water) but does give a slight side effect (because earth also destroys water). I suggest that you make use of the online report as it also gives you the details of items and colours associated wit…

Hi, Apologise for the late respond, as this message is sent anonymous, it does not get posted to our e-mail. Please read below:- You have to consider the period the house was built as Flying Star is for the birth chart of the house. There are several schools of thought:- 1. Once you make major renovation to the house, the entire house birth chart is altered to the year of the renovation. 2. The main door is considered your chi of your house and that all the levels of the house uses the same chart based on the flying star of the main door at the ground floor. 3. Every level has its own chart, and each level should be calculated based on the entrance to that level.…

Hi, Please read below:- In the traditional, because Feng Shui came from China, the coins used were Chinese coins with a hole in the middle. However, the rational behind the coins is that the number 6 is already strong metal along with the coins being made up of metal creates a strong metal good enough to act as a cure whether or not there is a coin is a Chinese coin or not. Of course if the original coin has a square cut which is represented by earth, does give additional strengths to the coins however, realistically there is no point is purposely searching high a low for such a coin. Therefore, it is not necessary. Feng Shui can be cured with many basic items found …
