Dear Steven, Generally, it is very common to live in a home where someone has died in the home. Often, if death is due to naturalcauses especially old age, no worries, here. For old homes, it is best to avoid having any of the posessions left by the person who had died e.g. his cupboard or any antique items. Sometimes, we are not sure what kind of items are left behind, if so, when we purchase such a home, try to get "vacant" posession of the home. And not keep such items. For those who can apply or use Flying Star Feng Shui; one way is to avoid an imbalance caused by too many YIN stars in a secto…

Dear Anon, House numbers has more to do with one's preferences or culture. In particular, many Chinese (Cantonese) do not like number number 4 or if a series of number sounds inauspicious. Otherwise, there is no basis in Feng Shui on house numbers. Warmest Regards, Cecil

Dear Joan, Frankly, it all boils down to "It depends". Or based on each situation. For those who had studied management principles, it is called " Situational approach". And this principle suggest that no two situations are alike. Thus, sometimes what we read, could be a general statement. Let us not forget that, as I had mentioned previously, more importantly, we should not only look at the four inner walls of a home but rather, the biggest influence is the environment. In many of my past messages, I had mentioned; that Shapes and Forms prevail: External vs internal, SWOT analysis i.e. S.W.O.T refers to Strengths, weakness, opportunities and threats to a specific locatio…

Dear Meei Jinn, 1. As mentioned earlier, the key success factors esentially is: location, location and location. 2. Overall, in the past, I have elaborated that we should consider the heat source on our home. Often if the home is east to west direction (with the sun rise and sun set); And if the house is facing east (sitting west) or vice versa; and on a sunny day (assuming there are no trees to shade the frontage or the back; this type of house can be pretty hot all day. A hot home; is not ideal unless one is prepared to either withstand the heat or have the luxury to turn on the aircon. 3. Besides this, drainage such as a drain or canal behind the home is another consi…

Dear Anon, Besides the Shapes and Forms Feng Shui, one should apply the Compass School of Feng Shui: Eight House and Flying star. For the Eight House, you can use the free report(s) at www.geomancy-online.com to generate them based on the dates of birth given. In fact, there are other reports, but some of them are paid ones such as Finding a good house report. If all these sound Greek, then, hmm.... either if you do enjoy self-help, please try to burn some midnite oil - or alternatively, you can seek professional help, when you have found what you think is a suitable house. These are the two approaches to take. Warmest Regards, Cecil

Thank you, Master Lee, for your reply. I will let you know how it goes. Am getting ready to place new staircase, and needed to know info. I have not used the Luo Pan before, just an ordinary compass (am a skilled forester so can use a compass easily) I was confused because the book had a person standing inside the house facing out the main door holding the compass, then a few page later showed the person standing in front of the house, facing the front door, holding the compass toward the front door! So you can see my confusion. I use your website very much, and also really enjoyed the auspicious day reading. I would like to eventually take classes from your site and gai…

Dear Anon, 1. A house will not only `show' bad combinations but also a mix of both good and bad combinations. 2. In addition to this, I recently mentioned that even if one has perfect house with excellent Flying star, it also depends on external influences. For example, even if the house has not so good Feng Shui based on say the Flying Star Theory, it also depends on the following:- a. The location where one spents time at. b. The individual's Pillars and Luck Pillars. If these are good for the individual, it changes the luck also. Furthermore, especially if the sector e.g. his/her bedroom are in auspicious sectors. c. Shapes and form is another overriding consideration…

Dear Anon, In my opinion, this statement is not correct for the following reasons: 1. Under the most common compass school of Feng Shui, there is no mentioned that one cannot do FS e.g. under the Eight House (8 sectors) or Flying Star 24 sectors. Here, there is always directions of reference on SE or NW. 2. Prior to the FS audit, many FS Masters/Practioners are not aware of the direction of a house/office until they visted it. Even if the direction is found to be at NW or SE, house/office audits are done. 3. More importantly, I know a few FS practioners are cautions when it comes to giving advice on a North East house (Devil's Gate) e.g. asking the owners to tilt their d…

1. It is good that the storm drain is fully covered; this is a plus point. 2. If u can draw a sketch of the plots + outline of your home in relation to the front door: so that one can have a better understanding. 3. The frontage may or may not be "west". Could be? 4. In my opinion; usually if one face problems (if any) is due most likely to have 3 or more MAJOR "leaks". 5. Thus there are some (East group) who still can stay in a "west" home without any issues.

Dear Sir If we buy a house facing our good direction but the land where the house is to be built is lower than the main road, will this affect the house's fengshui? However, there's a small hill on the other side of the road, ie the back of the house (though not directly behind coz there's a main road separating the houses and the small hill. Your advice is greatly appreciated.

These are some considerations: 1. Using the eye-ball method: Here, it is based on experience to roughly have a feel for the centre-of-gravity of the unit. 1.1. Thus, in my opinion, the centre-of-gravity could most likely be close to the attachment. 1.2. In such a layout plan, there will surely be things like : protusion and missing areas. 1.3. From past experience, many of us always visualise (in many instances) only the missing areas. But often, will not imagine that there are also protusions. 2. A more accurate method is to photo-copy the layout; cut out the outline; paste it on a cardboard; cut-out-the outline and balance it on a pin. When the pin balances, this shoul…

Dear Glyn, Either the chimney be left alone or at the most cover the top and the ground level. Avoid filling the chimney fully as this will involving adding more `earth' element in the house i.e. if you are using earth element e.g. sand etc... Warmest Regards, Cecil Lee P.S. Congratulations Glyn! I believe, you are the first to incorporate Chinese Numerlogy as an additional tool combined with other tools such as Earth Luck: Feng Shui, Heaven Luck: Pillars of Destiny. Furthermore, you had `predicted' in two instances using Chinese Numerology very accurately:)) -----Original Message----- From: Listmanager To: Recipients of 'free-advice' suppressed suppressed> Date: Wedn…

Based purely on Shapes and Forms Feng Shui, it is highly unusual " frontage". For example, most homes has an inverted "V" shape. And with the profile forms an "UP" arrow sign. First impressions count. The interior is another matter all together.

Dear Shaunna, Shaunna Repa wrote: So, are you saying aHOUSE doesn't have a Gua # only the PERSON? I'm still somewhat confused. The information I read kept talking about the house's Gua # based on its sitting position but gave no further info on how to figure it out. Sorry, don't mean to be a pest. Thanks, Shaunna Generally, when it comes to the house, the best analysis is the Flying Star (Xuan Kong Feng Shui) chart. Determine your main door facing positions, and then you will be able to chart out a numerology chart that is based on the 9 numbers. Given it uses the 24 mountains, directions, it allows you to chart out many unique variations of luck for a house depending o…

Dear Margaret, So in singapore especially, the unit numbering for your home would be shown as #03-10. Where 03 is level, and 10 is the unit number for that level. Thus, there is two fields. I believe it should be safe for you to use 3 in the first field and 10 in the second field when using our Apartment Number report. In your case, depending on the layout, if the layout plan is such that the door isn't located too oddly or being blocked, you can take the center of the house to the main door. Else, you should take the frontage based on the living room's balcony where most light come into the house.Generally, you take for example from balcony looking out if …

Dear Mogford, 1. I understand your `problem' faced trying to apply Feng Shui to your boat house. 2. A boat house is quite `similar' to a small apartment and dormitory. 3. Applying Feng Shui to your boat house is indeed very difficult and because of space constraints or the uniqueness of the layout, there is not much `enhancements' one can do other than: 3.1 To make the house boat as `cosy' or comfortable to the individual. 3.2 Application of Shapes and Forms is more crucial i.e. `parking' the boat in a secured and sheltered environment. Here, it is like houses which is on a barren land and subject to strong force of wind blowing. It is such unprotected situations e.g. sto…

Dear Anon, In the past, particularly in China, the best sites were chosen for a city e.g. Canton, Fujian etc... In this case there is not much choice to have houses built near to a volcano. One way to see it is to apply the 33 percent ruleset. The roof is so tiny and it is not going to affect the environment. Even if it is red colour. Rather, it is the threat of the volcano that can change things. Look at it this way, if the volcano is going to erupt, it will with or without the red roof Warmest Regards, Cecil

Dear Lisa, Under the Eight House Theory, it is more important to consider the intangible force e.g. whether one is sleeping close to one of our auspicious sector. For example, if the sector the wife's Health sector and the husband's "Irritation", then the wife sleep closer to this intangible force shielding the husband i.e. the husband sleeps further away. Only after the above consideration than, one sleeps with the head pointed to one of our best direction. If there is no `compromise' on a good direction, then this is still acceptable. This is because if one wants to "advance further in Feng Shui" may use other Feng Shui techniques like the Flying Star and also Shapes an…
