Dear Anon, 1. As the main door is `inauspicious' to your Kua, it is acceptable for the FS practitioner to place the Ba Gua mirror above the door. Furthermore, the NE is the devil's gate and some practitioner would recommend placing it at the specific location. Unless one tilts the door to a more advantages direction. 2. Perhaps, you can explore, whether it would be good to tilt the door. Here, if it is done correctly will: - Change the door to an auspicious or less auspicious sector - Tilt the door away from the devil's gate at NE. However, I must caution that the method under Para 2, should be done with the advise of a competent FS practitioner. And not DIY yourself. 3.…

Dear Anon, 1. One should not reverse the North/Sough directions mapping at Southern Hemisphere. 2. Some Feng Shui practitioners in the Southern Hemisphere has mentioned to do so, but so far, there is no concrete proof to do so. 3. It is best to use the same model for both the North and South. Warmest Regards, Cecil

Dear Carol, Please see below:- A warm welcome to you:) The application of Feng Shui depends on the following:- 1. Ranking and priorities. For example doors facing each other is `secondary importance.' Same goes for a rotating fan. 2. If one wants to apply Feng Shui, it is not a `direct' application. 3. It also does not involve only one concept or theory. But a multitude of theories and concept such as: 3.1 Shapes and Form. 3.2 Compass Schools - Eight house and Flying Star. 3.3 Pillars of Destiny (element and its strength). 4. Many people believe that `Fast Food' Feng Shui is the way to go. They go buy a few books on Feng Shui. Not only do they buy the books, they …

Dear Anon, 1. Generally, it is very unusual to find water positions on both side of the door. Thus there can be some truth in what you have mentioned. 2. What I mentioned by some truth is that we can still analyse if we want to the effects by looking at the Flying Star Chart of that sector. 3. Another important clue is: 3.1 That too much water creates a too yin environment. 3.2 Traditional Chinese are not infavour of having too many wells at a home or around it. One is bad enough. Although water is a necessity, one major fear is that someone may fall into etc... Therefore, many traditional Chinese belief in spirits in wells. 3.3 Water position where possible at the fron…

Dear Carina, Please see below:- This is classified under the Eight House Theory. Under the Eight House Theory, there are four good and four bad sectors. The key essence of the Eight house is: 1. How suitable the house is to the person. Here, you can have excellent Flying Star but it need not necessary mean that it is the most suitable house to the person. 2. Best to sleep in a good sector i.e. bedroom is at a good sector. Here, since we sleep more than 6 or more hours, it is best to sleep in a good sector. 3. Other uses include sitting or facing a good direction. This is secondary to Para 1 and 2. Many of us would love to `squeeze' more out of every conceivable `theor…

Dear Jack, Alterating the door would in my opinion, alter the birth chart of the house under the Flying Star Theory. It is always prudent to check what is `in store' of the house with the new birth chart - the new birth chart is based on Flying Star Theory / numerology. Thus, one should look at the new Flying Star Chart based on the `new' entrance direction of 150 degrees. Is this new chart better than the existing chart based on the present main door entrance? If so, it may be better since it is away from poison arrows aimed at the present main entrance'. Please note that pictures of semi-circular steps are meant to neutralise `Sha Qi' such as poision arrows facing the …

Dear Anon, One can place a bedside table between the toilet door and the bed. Here, one also has to place a table / reading lamp on it. By doing so, it will act as a `partition' between the toliet area and the bed. For the sha qi i.e. corner pointing towards the bed, especially if it is made of wood you can use a wind chime. You can try this out. Since metal is overall quite a safe element to use and there should normally not be any `harm' doing this i.e. experiment. Warmest Regards, Cecil

Dear Anon, For kitchen `Feng Shui', there are several `rule-sets' or guidelines: 1. Where possible, the fire stove should face inwards (into the house). This implies that there is `warmth' in the house. 2. Under Shapes and Form Feng Shui, it is not as good if the stove face outwards of the house. 3. Where possible, the stove, should be an auspicious sector - for the `women' of the house. But since you are a Male and if you are living alone - it should (preferably) still be located at an auspicious sector. 4. If there is no ventilation hood and if there is a ceiling beam that presses against the stove, this is inauspicious. 5. It is equally inauspicious if an exposed water…

Dear Anon, If your house is not too big, then, one should not try to divide each room into sectors. But instead, look at the centrepoint of the house. From the centrepoint, you should be able to properly determine where is the North, NE, South etc... of each area. For a start, it is best to understand fundamental Shapes and Forms Feng Shui. As usually, this is one of the key ingredients or one of the key success factors in the Feng Shui of any house. After this, than, you can explore the use of the Eight House etc... There are some resources at: http://www.geomancy.net/fs/house1.htm And if you are in no hurry, try to understand more, before `jumping the wagon' into Feng …

Dear Kaushal, Yes, money plant can cling on walls and can be considered as a `vine' plant. It can equally grow well on a bed of ground. Plants, if they are not left to grow wildly are always considered `acceptable'. But if it were to grow within the house, try not to allow it to grow up the wall. For the external wall, it can still be grown but do not allow it to `over grow' uncontrolled. If one has an area where you want to grow it, in my opinion, this is fine. Warmest Regards, Cecil

You need to stand in the house and face the door that gives you your door direction. You can balance your whole house by the main door. In addition you can balance each individual room by the direction of each room's door. Then again stand in that room and face the door for its direction.

Dear Anon, 1. In my opinion, you must have picked up the tip from a book written with `sector Feng Shui'. 2. From what I can see, in normal situations, there is relatively no issue or problem with regards to the placement of candles in your living hall or kitchen. 3. In my opinion also, real fire is more `unusual' than any of the other 4 elements e.g. water, wood, metal and earth. In that candles relate more to Yang energy - enhancement of Qi rather than `sha qi'. 4. I believe, some FS practitioners (if they are practising Flying Star (Xuan Kong Fei Xing) may be worried about this. Since, under the Five elements concept, fire produces earth. And because #5 (misfortune, si…

DearMs. Lee, how are you? I am looking for more information regarding a 49-day wish making method. I had read that one should write his wish down 49 times w/49 signatures during 49 days. At the same time one is supposed to be on lent. Have you heard of this method? Please let me know the details, and also some proper ways of wording such a wish. I realize one should be very careful what they wish for, so I thought I d consult you first. Thank you for your time. Best regards, Ghenrietta

Dear Ang Chye, The easiest method is to use the Pillars of Comparison (for members) to find the binding elements of both you and your wife. Please take note the element and strength of the above report is used in conjunction with the analysis under Pillars of Destiny version 7. As the Pillars of Destiny 8 is based on two more `Pillars'. While most of the time may be the same, but may slightly vary in some occasions. For those using Pillars of Destiny 8, later, we will have a module for this version. But again, the Pillars of Comparison for version 7 is already accurate. Warmest Regards, Cecil Lee

Dear Anon, It is said that our luck is made up of three components: 1. Heaven Luck (can be examined by Ba Zi or Eight Characters / Pillars of destiny). 2. Earth Luck (Feng Shui) 3. Human (Man) Luck - (Relations with family ...) What you had mentioned is specific only to Para 1 (Heaven Luck). Traditionally, it is thru the use of colour assocations or best colours. In addition, for a strong water person; Fire is his/her wealth element. Yes, individually, colours can be used. But a metal - water wood combination is not favourable for a strong water person. (Specifically, metal element is not favourable as it helps fuel water element. (If one takes a simplistic view of J…

Dear Angela, Angela Le wrote: I don't understand very well on how to improve my earthly elements or at least increase or decrease it. Like what is considered water, ( a water faucet in the house) and what is considered earth ( more plants in the house). What about wood furniture? Can that be counted as earth and wood? I am a strong fire and apparently for the next 10 years I need more earth than water. What does that mean? I tried finding the answers on the site, but could not find it. Please explain. Basically, make use of this talk article about the five element and relationship as a reference:- URL: http://talk.geomancy.net Generally, you should look at the larger p…

Dear Anon, Based on Flying Star Feng Shui, currently many homes that usually have NE or SW facing and that are Period 8 homes should enjoy better Feng Shui or earth luck. As to the perfect home, one chief concern is the external shapes and forms. As this has a great influence on the home. In addition, it is good that the home or apartment should if possible not be affected too much by direct sunlight. For example, we should avoid homes with critical areas "bathed" by the afternoon sun - especially if it is a wall "soaking in the" afternoon sun e.g. master bedroom wall or children's bedroom; living room etc... Such h…
