Dear Cah, 1. Both Eight House and Flying star belongs to the : Compass School of Feng Shui. 2. Ask yourself: What is the underling difference between Eight House and Flying Star? 3. YES/NO? Cannot think of a difference? 4. How about Time dimension? 5. The clue, here is that the Eight House is a STATIC model. Where else Flying Star : 20 year; Yearly, Monthly, Hourly is based on slightly more dynamic time factor. 6. From the above, try to imagine for yourself which is more dominant? A dynamic system or a static system? I don't want to say further. Warmest Regards, Cecil Quote: Cahaya H. wrote: Dear Cecil, According to eight house concept, south east sector is a …

Dear Anon, Currently, the best units atGardens are those facing the main gate (pool) such as Blocks 3 or 7. These blocks are not affected by the temple. For example, the units under these blocks (facing Sin Ming Walk) are NE facing and very auspicious under current Flying star. If possible, avoid Block 1. And Block 9 (Winter) because of the afternoon sun. Warmest Regards, Cecil

Dear Anon, You don't need any money for using cures in traditional feng shui. What you have been reading about is BTB feng shui and it does not work. Trust me I am talking from personal experience. Don't waste your money on BTB cures. Instead apply the pillar of destiny, 8 house theory and flying star and shape and form and it will help you to achieve balance in all area of your life. Instead of focusing all your energy on wealth why don't you concentrate on health and peace of mind. Since if one does not have health and peace of mind one cant earn or enjoy the wealth. You can ask cecil or robert lee to help you. They have helped many people (who were in financial trouble…

Dear Hoa Luong, Hoa Luong wrote: I'm a strong water. A few of my inauspicious days this month are fire element which is my wealth color. It was suggested in the auspicous dates section that I should wear my favorable elements on the inauspicious days. My favorable elements are wood, earth and fire. My reasoning is that I should wear earth color on an inauspicious fireelement day since earth reducesfire. Am I reasoning correctly? Generally, when a day is inauspicious, it normally means that there are either some conflict between the day and the year and with your ba zi or suitability. So it is not necessary directed directly at your own individual element or suitability. …

1. From one of the Feng Shui concepts using the compass direction:- http://www.geomancy.net/reports/reports-list/perlist-workposition.htm 2. As you had mentioned earlier, if you are unable to change position, then this option is out! 3. The commonsense is to see how you can maximize your luck in other areas of your life:- The Concept of Maximizing Marks 4. In a situation, where as you had mentioned you cannot change position, then no matter how much you "bang" your head against the wall, you may have to maximize luck from other areas of your "life". Often, it can be your earth luck = home (& office) etc... 5. Factors like if there are any "wealth" leaks such as …

Dear Anon, Please see below:- 1. Feng Shui, like other methods, provides a sense of hope in various ways. It creates opportunities for us to explore with optimism. 2. However, it is important to consume Feng Shui in moderation. 3. It is natural for people to seek self-improvement, and in my view, when applied in moderation or correctly, Feng Shui can have remarkable effects. 4. On the downside, I am aware of numerous cases where individuals have either applied "Fast Food Feng Shui" on their own or placed excessive trust in Feng Shui, leading to negative consequences such as purchasing too many objects like wind chimes. 5. Currently, I …

Dear Anon, This is quite subjective and there are differing opinions on this. You have added a further `twist' by indicating that it can be seen from the side. If you MUST do it, `try it' and willing to share with us your findings, that will be great. Warmest Regards, Cecil

[Note: This message refers to the Sample Wedding Invitation cards, Chinese New Year cards that was posted recently to the conference: Photo Tours of Interest (with Pictures) This conference is not included in the mailing list but rather, one has to login to the forum to see them as it contains pictures etc..] Dear Anon, I agree with you. Why not red envelopes used. Red envelopes are also used. However, the `disadvantage' of using red envelopes is that if one tries to write on it, especially with blue or black ink, it is pretty hard to see. (I believe this is the main reason). Otherwise, red envelopes are acceptable. Warmest Regards, Cecil

The water stars to currently activate are #7- current prosperity, #8 future prosperity and #9 - prosperity yet to come. Before you activate the water stars they must be in an open space - like main entrance, not locked away in a bedroom or such other room. Water stars need activity. Mountain stars need no movement. Do not activate other water stars especially #2 - sickness star and #5 - misfortune star. Water in the west is not good. Glyn

Dear Anon, 1. First of all thanks for pointing me to the direction of what the Tansu step cabinet look like. 2. In my opinion, Chinese medicine chest cabinets also have small compartments but usually are of equal height or levels. 3. I can understand your `concern' after looking at it. On one hand, it looks ok to me i.e. even if there are `poison arrows' it seems to point upwards. In my opinion, it is difficult to say since, I have very little encounters with this specific cupboard. Overall, you may have to decide should you want to purchase it. 4. Based on past experience, usually the `worst' threats are those aimed at the main entrance door and windows of a home. These …

Dear Oliv, Traditionally or in the past, there were no such thing as either the electric oven or the refrigerator. (Although there is the clay kiln -- which for the Chinese is often used to make pottery). Otherwise, unlike in the middle east, the Chinese do not often bake bread or pita etc... (As the main Chinese stable food is rice). The most important consideration therefore has to do with the position of the stove. Please note that in my opinion, the micro-wave oven should be considered as belonging to the metal element. This is because, unlike conventional ovens that use heat, the micro-wave ovens excite molecules "inwards" using the wave-length e.g in the 800 mega…

Dear Israel, 1. What you have mentioned i.e house numbers for landed property usually falls more towards numerology than Feng Shui. (Although for Flying Star Feng Shui - there is Feng Shui for high rise but this is unrelated to that of house numbers). 2. Therefore, it is very difficult to say for sure whether No. 13 or 31 is lucky or not. Some people do find 13 lucky while others say that it is unlucky. So - it can be very subjective analysis. 3. Under symbolism in Feng Shui one can instead place house numbers to signify a `raise' or UP. This is where the lettering can be placed something like 3 1 The house number can be made to look like it is rising (if we read from Le…

Hi Anon, Here is that is Fire will exhaust star 4, and destroy Metal at same time. So this is appropriate to create an element balance between all ths stars since 2 (Earth), 7 (Metal), toilet (water flow), 4 wood, plus fire gives you a perfect five element flow:- Earth -> Metal -> Water -> Wood -> Fire -> Earth. Fire can be represented by colours red or by having a light source. So keeping the place bright or having the red colour will help exhaust the sector. But anyway, since it is the toilet sector is it not a very major concern as having such stars in the bedroom or main door sector. Hope that helps. Warmest Regards Robert Lee

Dear Maria, In my opinion, this perhaps may have to do with symbolism. Perhaps, what you have read is that the particular author felt that photos above a fireplace could represent it being `burned' i.e. the fireplace represents fire. Any pictures above it may be symbolically `burned.' You could perhaps introduce a `neutral' element e.g. Earth e.g. pottery on the mantle piece of the fireplace. Especially, if one feels `uncomfortable' with it. Warmest Regards, Cecil

Dear Linda, Linda Cropper wrote: I live in a house surrounded by poison arrows from the roofs of other houses nearby. Is a pa kua above the front door sufficient protection?I understand that you can aim cannons at the offending arrows. Should the cannons be inside the house or outside and should there be some sort of shield behind them if they are inside the house? Generally, any external threats (posion arrows) you may have to use ba gua to protect your house if you are not able to block it. For example, a fence or trees that can block the poison arrow can also act as a way to prevent the sha qi. Or ifthe poison arrow from the roof cuts into your windows, then a day …

Dear Rachel, Actually, that is not really contradicting at all. The balance of five element is for you to fine tune your favourable and unfavourable elements. You should simply just proritise the favourable elements in to the different percentage. For example, a strong water, favourable arewood (0%) / fire (26%) / earth (5%). This simply means that:- Wood (0%) is the most favourable Earth (5%) is the 2nd most favourable Fire (26%) is the least favourable as there is already more than sufficient. Same goes for the unfavourable element. For example Metal (50%) and Water (5%). Metal (50%) would be most unfavourable (so should avoid) Water (5%) would be the least un…

There are several past resources on this subject. Here is one:- http://forum.geomancy.net/phpforum/article.php?bid=2&fid=1&mid=15247&new= Some persons can sleep soundly even with mirrors and reflective glass on wardrobe cabinets. Sometimes it takes just one or two persons such as relatives and friends to comment that it is no good and we may feel uneasy after that. If one is such a person, then, simply avoid having the mirror.

Dear Cheui May, 1. You brought up a good question. 2. I would apply the "33.3 percent Rule set." 3. I call this the 33.3 percent rule set as a general guide to better understand certain Feng Shui concepts that are universal: For example, 3.1. When we determine a "missing corner", we usually, say that a missing corner is one where it is 33.3 percent missing or the area is greater than 33.3 percent. 3.2. When one wears e.g. a `T' shirt, and to enhance oneself, for example a weak water person could e.g. wear blue shirt. It covers more than 33.3 percent of his entire surface of his body. Contrast this with wearing a ring or many rings. This is just an example. 3.3. For water …

Dear Lian Seng, Please see below:- ----- Original Message ----- From: "free-advice Listmanager" To: Sent: Monday, July 24, 2000 12:28 PM Subject: Placing a wind chime You have asked how to determine when to place a wind chime. It is good to analyse the house by doing a Flying Star analysis and then checking to see if a wind chime is `suitable'. Here, the type of material used and equally color of the wind chime should also be considered. For example, if the wind chime is colored red, or in a triangle shape, (depending on the overall shape) it could mean that it has the fire element. Frankly, it is hard for me to comment on your situation as mentioned above, it woul…
