Dear Mieke van der Wijngaart-van Dongen, In your case, whether there isn't much of a choice available to choose from. Then I would East would probably be the better choice. I mean at least directly behind is the sink rather than the toilet bowl itself. This is at least better than having a toilet bowl sharing the same wall as your bed. Furthermore, since it is your own toilet, you will be able to keep it clean, control keeping the toilet bowl cover down and keep the toilet door close when not in use. Often a home toilet will not be as dirty as a public toilet. The reason why toilet is considered least auspicious is often it is would be considered the most dirty place i…

My question is that our front door faces South - excatly and I feel that our "mouth-of-the-house" is North.... this does not do well for my best directions What can I do to make this house we have just bought better for our family? I would also like to activate our wealth area.... Not sure where to begin? We are also sleeping under beams... its a thach house. We wanted to put a water feature at the front door, however it is in the south so I would guess not a good place. Your advice would be exteemly helpful. Great site buy the way

Dear Anon, Anonymous wrote: Our house is located behind a church and graveyard, not directly about 30 m away, the church does not have a tall spire but a top like a castle. I wonder if I should put something on my front door to ward off any unhappy vibes from those who have passed away. Generally, the only thing about the Church is not to have the house face the Church Cross. As it is like a Sha Qi to the house. The other thing is sometimes Church bell may be a little nosy. But other than that, it is usually not a major concern. If the house cross faces the house, then you might have to put some mirror to reflect it away. The graveyard might be more probablematic as it …

Hi, This is because, the stove is a very important part of the home. If you reason it this way, one should not have the stove in an inauspicious location. One cannot burn away `auspcious' or inauspcious luck by turning on the stove but rather, since it plays an important part of the home, one should have it at a good location. It is a tradition to try to have the stove at an auspicious location for the spouse and best that it suits her `Ba Zhi'. Warmest Regards, Cecil

Dear Grace, If you can try to follow the method as shown under this illustration:- http://www.geomancy.net/resources/art/art-cecilcompass.htm Based on what you mentioned, the door should be South-West door. If you are sure, feel feel to fax it to us at: 64820570 so that we can determine the centrepoint and on the layout plan mark out e.g. A and B. Where you will be advised to find the centrepoint from e.g. location marked `A' to `B'. Please note that for anyone who fax to us must include:- Note: Your e-mail address and we normally, re-scan the layout and post the reply in the forum. Warmest Regards, Cecil Lee

Dear Kevin, The `key' ingredients for a new plot of land is: By Ranking (1). Shapes and Form School. (2). The Flying Star of house. (3). Your personal Eight House. 1. Ideally as you have mentioned the frontage of the house should logically be facing the front. 2. The main door can be either at the frontage or at the side of the house. Usually, you may need the services of a competent Feng Shui practititoner to advise you on which sector is the best door location based on you personal Ba Zhi. Here, several Flying Star Charts can be drawn to find out which is most auspicious sector for the main door and like a puzzle, once this is made known, the other sectors of the house …

Dear Maritza, More importantly, you need to protect the most vulnerable window. For example, this is where the movement of cars seem to come `towards' the windows. Firstly adequate curtains at this location. Next, a row of plants parallel to the window. You may like to consider a Ba Gua mirror in the middle (above the window) for added protection. Warmest Regards, Cecil

1. These are my reflections on the matter: once a person has been cremated, everything changes and becomes neutral. 2. For instance, when a person is buried, the Chinese believe it is very auspicious to bury them in a favorable location and facing a certain direction. It is believed that a good burial site and good Feng Shui can bring luck to future generations of the family. 3. Therefore, this is likely why most people advise against prematurely removing the coffin and cremating a loved one unless there is no other choice. 4. Historically, many burial sites were indeed very auspicious. Well-known auspicious burial sites include the current Orchard MRT grou…

These are some considerations:- 1. Frankly, you don't get the earlier idea? 2. Your green arrow sign pales in comparison to the TWO red arrows that I had drawn. 3. By the way (BTW) these are SHA QI or poison arrows. 4. More critically: go find out what this terms means : TRIAGE This is particularly true to determine which is a better location for say the staircase area.

Hi, Please see below:- When contemplating the placement of a swimming pool, it is crucial to consider the following important aspects: 1. The swimming pool must be assessed concerning both Shapes and Forms Feng Shui and the principles of Flying Star Feng Shui. 2. Ideally, it should be situated in front of the house; for example, when facing the main entrance and looking outward, the swimming pool should preferably be on the left side. 3. It is essential to ensure that the swimming pool does not have sharp edges directed towards the house, as this is regarded as Sha Qi or a poison arrow. 4. The design of the swimming pool should refrain from e…

Dear Robert Lee 1) The shoplot facing North. Infront of it there is a pond. To my right hand side there is a swimming pool. Understand most of the practitioners/master will advice not to buy such property as the sign of roaming eyes or having a licit affair. Hence, in year of the Dog North is auspicious location. Which is more important the pond facing the shoplot or the swimming pool location. 2) The condo I intend to buy which is above the shoplot. The location of the door is in South hence, the balcony is facing to the North and the swimming pool to our right hand side. Sorry, if I'm confused here, either the poolfacing at the balcony or the doorlocation are both s…

Since the home is rented; and from a commonsense approach; close the toilet door when not in use - I suppose.

Dear Fanty Fang, Fanty Fang wrote: I want to build house in near future. I want to have water pond since my element is strong fire. My question is where should i build that water pond (facing what direction) ? Frankly, I never like to answer such questions, this is because the only true way to determine which is the best location to place any water feature is to first have a detailed analysis done on the home to find out where are the auspicious stars and how is the surrounding environment. Only then will you know exactly where will be the most beneficial place to place a water feature that can effectively trap wealth. To simply tell you that it is good to place here a…

Dear John, John Low wrote: The report Ipurchased indicates that I'm a Strong Earth person. John Low wrote: My most favourable location/direction is East (Wood) but my most favourable personal element is Metal. John Low wrote: Since Metal and Wood are conflicting elements, how should I interprete these readings? Generally, the best direction (ie longevity direction etc), is based on Eight House which is based on the YEAR of birth. While the ba zi direction bases on the date and time of birth. Dear Anon, 1. Since your home isWest 253 it is consideredunder Flying star Feng Shui as West 1 facing. 2. For many homes; it is always goodfor a Period 6 to analyse the variousFlying star chartsof Period 7 and also Period 8. Given that Period 7 is over; yourhome is best evaluated on thebasis of:- 3. Period 6 vsPeriod 8 Is Period 8 better than Period 6? Or is it better to try to remain as Period 8. For a West 1, home based on both Period 7 and Period 8; the Flying star charts are not too good. Thus, in general, it is still preferred to seriously consider boosting the earth luck based on a Period 6 chart. If your wealth star is locked in the centre, it is difficult t…

Dear Anon, 1. It would be a preferable option to have an additional bed beneath your current one. This alternative could be more suitable. 2. Some Feng Shui practitioners may approve of loft beds, also known as double decker beds. However, in my view, having a double decker bed should not be an issue as the person sleeping on the lower bed is at the same level. Unlike a beam that concentrates weight downwards, the same level bed disperses the weight evenly. 3. In your situation, I also believe that it is not ideal to have part of your body, especially your head, positioned below the loft. If possible, try to sleep with your head away from the loft. However, th…

Hi. I have three questions about my room: 1. I am thinking of putting a loft bed into my room to save space. My room is on the South-East corner of my house, it has one window facing south and another window facing East. The bed can only go in the south-east corner of the room, where it will be in front of the East facing window. This will cut off some of the light, but as I work nights and sleep days, that is not a bad thing. Are there any Feng Shui rules about Loft beds I should know? 2. Also I have three pet garter snakes I keep in a terrarium in my room. What sort of effect do they have on Feng Shui? I have read articles aboutfish and Feng Shui, but there is little…

Hi Anon, I have just moved in to a house with the exact same combinations as yours. Main Door is East. I have put in the relevant cure for it. So although it is not so good, but it is neutralize. On another note, I am occupying the fading prosperity sector as my room. If you look hard enough, this is a good sector. You can activate the mountain star. With this combination, the occupier will derive great financial skill and leadership(esp good in military). I have yet to see this ;) but I hope it won't be long. So far, I have implemented the relevant cures throughout the house, activate the relevant mountain stars. The key here is to balance all the imbalance elements. O…

Dear Jen, In a recent reply, I shared that in the time dimension of Feng Shui, especially in Flying Star Feng Shui, numbers play a key role because this system is based on both time and numerology. Each period has certain numbers that are especially important. So, for Period 7, the number 7 represents current prosperity, 8 represents future prosperity, and 9 stands for future-future prosperity. If an enhancement can be activated while we are living in the period from 1984 to 2003 (Period 7), then all three numbers – 7, 8, and 9 – become very important. In the current time period, which is Period 8, the number 8 now represents current prosperity,…
