flying stars
Dear Sophie, sophie corcoran wrote: i hav read that this year, there shouldnt b any building or disruption in the north or south east sector but we were planning on finally building our house in 2 months, the kitchen would b towards the north and bedroom/onsuite in south east. North/West and North must be careful because it is the Grand Duke (Tai Sui) or Location in Conflict. So if you can avoid having any major renovations, you should try to do so. South-East is not as bad but probably the concern is due to the illnes star in South-East sector this year. If you cannot avoid it, I recommend that you at least look for an auspicious date to start work, and do some simple prayer or offering to the deities or gods or spirits in the area that you are planning to start work and apologise for any inconvienced caused. Then, avoid being present during the entire renovation process until it is completed. Hope that helps. Warmest Regards Robert Lee GEOMANCY.NET - Center for Applied Feng Shui Research

Should i move house?
Dear Anon, Anonymous wrote: However, I would like to ask another question. My houseposition is NE1 whichis not beneficial to my hubby as his suitable is East/South-East. However, you have advised us of his best sleeping, best work position to enhance his Fengshui. Our life are so much better after that. However, I think you did mentione tous that is not going to be good in long term. Will moving a new house according to the new house suitable to his gua be a better alternatives. In general, if the house does not suit the breadwinner, it means that the breadwinner will not be able to enjoy the maximum amount of luck from the house. So the only way to get a quantum leap in feng shui is to move to a more suitable house. That is why a suitable house is very important and very difficult to correct once you move in. Anonymous wrote: I wonder whether you can help us to review our case to see whether this present house can still stay on? To be frank, we have to many request/plea for help (so much so that there are lots of backlog of cases) that we are not able to provide help to each and every case on a one to one basis so no promises here. Anonymous wrote: Will it affectsmy hubby as his health is not too well recently. In general, health issues are more likely that the bedroom that you are in may have some illness/misfortune stars that is creating unbalances. So probably that is something that you should check out using the free flying star reports available in our member area. Quote: Is it necessary to have Fengshui read every year? Usually a proper feng shui analysis should focus on the long terms issues and solutions first. If this is fixed, then the only thing you just need to fine tune each year is to look out where the yearly star 2/5 comes in. And add some minor changes if the stars are affecting key rooms. So a good feng shui analysis done, need not necessary have to review each year. Only until you do plan to have any major renovations or major changes that might affect the existing qi. Otherwise, only need to watch out for the minor yearly star changes which might need some additional balances for the star 2/5 especially. Hope that helps. Work Desk Facing Pillar
Dear Anon, Anonymous wrote: About 4 months ago, i had my sitting position at work changed to this current one where it's facing a big square pillar. Didn't really thought much about it until recently. But looking back at these 4 months I realised that my projects so far had been chocked full of obstacles and barriers. All of the projects, even the smallest ones, had a problem or another. Basically nothing went smooth and I don't know why. I've become more aware of the pillar in these few weeks and I am beginning to believe that all my obstacles at work were in some way due to the bad feng shui created by the pillar. It is likely the corner from the square pillar on the whole is cutting into you so it is a shapes and form sha qi. The only way you can do is to attempt to see if you can put anything to block or break the sha qi towards you. Unfortunately, in an office environment where you are ownly an employee (not the boss or holding some key position), to be frank it can be very difficult to have the flexibility to fix such aproblem. The best if you can have some plants or tress at the corner to break the shape, or have some partition that can shield you or to move to another better location. But often this is difficult if you are just an employee of the company. As for placing other items such a mirror or some small plants on your desk if it can act as a shield maybe still can help, but a great deal unless the object can break the shape of the sha qi. So probably the only other way is to correct other areas ie boost up your ba zi luck ie if you are weak wood, then wearing more of your favourable colour to attempt to boost up your individual luck. This may offset some of the influence from this problem. Hope that helps. Warmest Regards Robert Lee GEOMANCY.NET - Center for Applied Feng Shui Research

Feng shui in names
Dear Norman, Norman Leonor wrote: I would like also to know if there is also Feng Shui for names? If there is what would you recommend an auspicious name for me coz I am planning to change my name becoz I am having difficulty to do my signature with my present name. I think changing my name and signature will help improve my business. Yes, there is a chinese name analysis which incorporates the five element analysis into the chiense name. English name there isn't a such a conversion, in the concept. However, in general, there are several books that mentioned that the english name can still be analysed by considering the element by the number of character, and the alphabet that of the 1st character of the name is the element for the name. As mentioned, there is a name analysis, but for our service we only do the chinese name analysis as this is the true traditional analysis. English analysis service isn't available as there is yet to be a consistent analysis method that is as chinese name analysis. In general, the one thing to note is that usually if you already an adult, changing name does not really bring you major luck changes. However, as mentioned if it is due to difficulties with your signature, then probably it will bring you some ease if you do change it. But in terms of luck changes, you will have greater luck change from other areas such as improving the luck of the home or office as compared to a name change. Hope that helps. bathroom cures
Dear Sophie, sophie corcoran wrote: r u saying that i shouldnt bother using the bagua? I was saying that these isn't the most important leak. There should be other more important things to consider first. What I was implying was that you are making this which I consider say severity of 100/100 where it is only a rated 1/100 in terms of severity. I mean, it is like saying that everyone who has the bedroom in this sector (ie Children/Sernity& Joy ie West) will mean that the house is bad? Sorry, but what this is only saying is that if you happen to have a bedroom which is west for your children, then you can benefit it. If this room is for other purpose then you can't enjoy it. The same goes for all the other eight aspiration sector. Furthermore, like I mentioned this problem is rated to be say 1/100 in severity. Do you think that you will really get a major luck boost even if you correct it? Where if there Qi leak from the house to the back door which rates as say 70/100 that you completely ignore? Fixing which leak do you think will give you a greater change in feng shui luck. Of course the qi leak from the house to the back door. So my point was that you are putting the effort to fix leak on an not as big deal problem compared to a MUST FIX problem. sophie corcoran wrote: iv read that ur reputation, wealth, marriage etccan go down the drain if u hav a bathroom in that area. If that is so, that means that everyone with the toilet in that sector will have the encounter that problem right? Sorry, but that is not the reason why a person will have wealth or marriage problem. Wealth problems for house are where there is a major wealth leak such as Qi Leak or that star current prosperity star is trapped or destroyed (is star 8 for period 8) Marriage problem for house are where there is like conflict or disput stars in the bedroom or main door area which may cause conflicts in marriage. Locating the true cause rather than very general tips such as by not fixing such sectors you have this problem etc is more important. Always remember that many sites that post TIPS are generally very general. Just like when someone tell you the romance corner is South-West as you to activate the sector with 99 roses. It won't work because firstly, they do not consider personalise the analysis. It is just a very general tip. Most of such general tips can really do more harm that good really simply because most people just blindly follow it. However, such tips are the easiest for most author to write simply because it is a general tip. But as to being able to give you results, you can ask most of people who tried it. All most all will tell you that it does not really work. The only way to apply feng shui is to assess the home and your ba zi in all aspects. Identify the major leaks and fix it. Also you must know which is really important and which is not important. Like I mentioned, non-important or very little impact type of leaks will not really boost your luck. So unless you really get the right principles and fix up the major leaks first, you will never really see results. I think you should read this link first:- URL: http://www.geomancy.net/consultation/consult-resources/leakinexistinghome.htm It tells you why it is important to fix up major leaks first. Binding Elements from Comparison Report
Dear Anon, Anonymous wrote: The binding elements to get the two parties to be compatible or reduce conflict is Water & Earth. This means that the five element compatibility isn't the best match element. ie weak wood vs weak earth. weak wood destroy weak earth. So particularly bad for weak earth. The reason for the two elements is so that one element can strengthen one person and the other to strengthen the other person. ie. water & earth = water to make weak wood stronger, while earth to strengthen weak earth. There are also many other combinations you can choose:- ie. either wood & fire - ie wood strengthen weak wood, and fire strengthen weak earth. ie. either water & fire - ie water strengthen weak wood, and fire strengthen weak earth. The way you go about is to mix the colours (ie water & earth) = blue/black/gray with yellow. This is especially for bedroom or rooms that both person stay or use. Alternatively, you can go for a 3 element flow (ie wood -

Cactus
Dear Anon, Anonymous wrote: I dont have much idea of Feng shui... But my husband belives & follows it. I was stucked up at one thing whether Indoor cactus are good or bad? He says it brings bad fortune. Is it true? Plants in general is good. Especially those with flowers. Plants that have torns or sharp branches can indirectly create posion arrows (sha qi). Therefore, like your husband said, it is not as good simply because the it creates lots of torns. What you want in a home is harmony rather than conflicts. Therefore, for this reason it is not so good especially if it is the only plant around. Hope that helps. Warmest Regards Robert Lee GEOMANCY.NET - Center for Applied Feng Shui Research

bathroom cures
Dear Sophie, sophie corcoran wrote: its a bathroom so its not good 4 feng shui. As mentioned in my earlier post, the eight aspiration is the least important concept. As such, it does not mean that just because the toilet is there that you will not have children/creative luck. This is because under the bagua (eight aspiration), it is said that everyone's children/creative sector is at this sector. This means to say that the million of human all have this same sector. Does it make sense? It is just like saying the the romance sector is South-West, to active it you need to put 99 roses there. So I personally will not consider as bad as say if your auspicious flying star (ie star 8 for period 8 house) is found in this toilet sector, it means that your wealth will be affected by it. Which is why I said that it no really as bad as you are saying it is. Simply because that is just a static and should be the last thing you activate. Priority goes to External Shapes and Form, followed by Flying Star, followed by Eight House and last by Eight Aspiration (bagua) for any house. Such advises won't bring you any results simply because it isn't personalised nor really where the true wealth area of the house is. True wealth sector is always changing. Therefore, the good sector can never be the same for all sector. Warmest Regards Robert Lee GEOMANCY.NET - Center for Applied Feng Shui Research

Sofa - color and size
Dear K Chin, K Chin wrote: Since the shape of objects affect the luck, health and wealth of a person or apartment, do the shape and the color of a sofa have any effect on luck orhealth ? In general, you have to always rank what is important. ie. If in a room, then the colour of the room and the key furniture colours will affect the overall feng shui of the room. The other smaller objects will play only a smaller role. Therefore, generally the colour of the sofa will play the greatest influence for the element of the sofa, followed by the material and the shape of the sofa. K Chin wrote: Also, there are only 2 places that I will spend most of my time when I am at home - i.e. bedroom and sofa in the living room.Does that mean, the position of the sofa is kind of important - from the feng shui point of view ? For instance, its location, away from front door ? avoid light beaming onto itetc. In general, it depends on how many people will using the sofa/bed. For example, if you are alone, then positioning it in the best direction that fit your own eight house will be good for you. When there are two or more person then using this suitability to find one which fits both person will be harder. Therefore, it is always best to place it based on the best shapes and form arrangement according to the room. So ideally, you should try to place it where there is no poison arrow from the corner that cuts to where you are sitting, or the sofa should not be under an exposed beam.As there are many other shapes and forms issues, so hard to list every one as each situation is unqiue. But generally, if you avoid this two key flaws and if possible choose the best facing direction when you sit, that would be the most ideal placement. Hope that helps. Updates! Free 30-Days Auspicious Date for One/Two
Dear Users, We understand that our 30-Days Auspicious for TWO Persons was extremely popular and is used by many people every day. As such, we have updated it so that it is easier to generate the report for One person. URL: http://www.geomancy.net/reports/free-report/freerpt-dateboth.htm We have revised the module so that it will automatically detect whether 2nd person's information is different or left empty. The report will then generate One person or Two person report. When the report is generated for 1 person, the 2nd profile information will be hidden away. In the past, you have to enter the same information for the 2nd person in order to generate the auspicious date for 1. Now,you DO NOT need to enter the same information for the 2nd profile in order to generate an auspicious date for 1 person. All you need to do is skip the 2nd profile information. We also included this auspicious date report into our Member Area so that allmembers can also acces the auspicious report from the member area. In addition, we also updated the paid report with the similiar feature. This way there is only 1 module to generate the same report for One Person or Two Person(s). We have thus removed the older paid auspicious date for One person. Hope you enjoy the changes! Warmest Regards Robert Lee GEOMANCY.NET - Center for Applied Feng Shui Research

Meaning of 5m5t8w at SW and 2m8t5w at Centre
Dear SF Choe, sf choe wrote: Thank you very much, Robert, for confirming Period 8 for my house. Based on that, I had done the Flying Stars Chart and came up with 5m 5t 8w at SW sector. What does this mean because I got frightened seeing the double 5 there. My house is facing SW1 but my main door is tilted in the West Sector facing SW3 (235 degrees). Also,my Centre Palace has the star combo 2m 8t 5w, again I got scared seeing the 2-5 combo! Normally, if there is star 5's and star 2's occur on the same sector. It will spell trouble. But in your case, it is a period 8 house, so the star 2 and star 5 when paired with a star 8, will actually be good for the star 8 as it will neturalise the effects of the star 2/5 and actually make the star 8 which is auspicious stronger so neturalising some of the negative effects (not completely but lesser). Furthermore, the center area in the house should be kept neutral. So for that sector you should just leave it neutral or empty. Just avoid bright yellow (earth) or bright red (fire)colours if possible for both rooms. For the SW sector if it is an important room (ie bedroom/main door), you should still neturalise the star 5 with the Metal (ie 6 coins or painting the room white). Avoiding bright yellow/bright red. Help to get someone take over the lease

Or pricing it right or to keep the place clean. In terms of feng shui, you can try to improve some of your luck such as to improve your ba zi element suitability. So generally, if you have more Wood, Fire or Earth it will balance your life. Bed Facing Windows
Dear Anon, Anonymous wrote: my master bedroom bed is in same alignment of my bedroom door. however, the bed is facing the full glass window. is this okay? When you mentioned the bed is in the same alignment of the main door, do you mean that it is anchored to the wall where the main door is located? This means the window is opposite the bed. If I got the above correct, then ideally, the best placement is where you seleep, you can see the door. The purpose is so that if anyone enters, you will know or be aware of it. In the past, this is especially so that one can take precaution especially if it is a thief entering. However, if there is no other way to place the bed, then probably you do not have much choice anyway. This placement is not the most ideal placement if there is an alternative arrangement. which is more accurate

The application of Flying Star is very flexible depending on your overall objectives. 1. The most common objective is to assess the interior of the house (ie for best furniture arrangement, colour scheme for each room, water features etc. So in such cases, you are looking for where is your main door frontage etc. Such as the most common way:- ie. Apartment (2nd - 7th level), you take the main door ie. Apartment (8 level & up), you take the living room/balcony ie. Landed Property, you take the facing of the building This already allows you to assess the interior home luck as well some of the external surrounding. 2. The other method you mentioned based on the book you read, is focused on like the sitemap/plot of land view which is used more on a greater level of assessing one plot of land compared to another. So it is uses it slightly different purpose. 3. In general, unless you are checking two different location to see which is better, then you can consider using that surrounding assessment just to see which is better using the method in para 2. 4. Otherwise, most of the users already bought the home, and will be more interested in correcting or improving your existing home, thus the most important factor will be using the method in para 1. Aguarium in my room
Dear Georgy, Georgy Ivanov wrote: Is bad to put aguarium in my room.In many sites write that, bedroom is not place for aquarium. In that room I sleep study and make all my things. My personal element is strong metal. Thanks in advance. I do personally feel that it is not advisable. A bedroom should be quiet for good night rest. That is why bedroom is usually classified as Yin. With activities from fishes swiming or the light in the aquarium all these creates more yang. So not really good for bedroom. The more scientific reason would be the water in the fish tank tends to have a certain type of fishy smell, plus depending on the fish some fish/water featuremay make some noise. These two reasons are why I say it is notgood for anyone wanting a good night rest. As such, fish tank/aquarium is best place in non-bedroom (it study room ok but not bedroom for sleeping), or usually better in the living room. However, I do believe that for very small fish bowl or tank probably the impact is not that noticable. If you do not find any major issues sleeping, then I guess not too big an issue. However, still not recommended where possible. Hope that helps. Warmest Regards Robert Lee GEOMANCY.NET for Applied Feng Shui Research

Time differences between countries
Dear K H Lee, K H Lee wrote: Ihave a question onthe season of birth. The northern and southern hemisphere have different season cycle,e.g. Winter in the north is actually Summer in the south.Does that mean the analysis on the month pillar needs to map to thegeographical season accordingly? say, if I am born in december inthe southern hemisphere, my season of birth is Summerand Fire is strong.. but if bornin december in the northern hemisphere, theseasonis Winterand Wateris strong. So, which season cycle to use for the analysis if I am born in the South? Thank you. To my understanding, the difference in the Northern and Southern Hemisphere seasons is notthat of a reversed season but rather of a seasonlag of 6 months. ie.Winter NH - 21 Dec, SH - 21 Jun ie. Spring NH - 21 Mar, SH - 21 Sep ie. Summer NH - 21 Jun, SH - 21 Dec ie. Autumn NH - 22 Sep, SH - 22 Mar So it is not really that the seasons is revered. But rather than if you stay nearer to the North - Winter comes earlier, while if you stay nearer to the South - Winder comes later. So it is more of a seasons shift of about 6-months rather than the cycle being completely reversed. To be frank, if youreally want to factor this influence, this means you need to have a time shift in all the concepts for 6-months in order to properly align the concepts without affecting the full analysis. However, from the many cases that I have done, I find that the analysis we done can still accurately predict most of the key events. Which tells me that the is really no real need to make any changes to the concept. The reason to me is that the feng shui principles in the ba zi or flying star etc. Has been so well thought out that the main goal is to make sense of the situation ie how each pillar relates to one or another. And the current definition and harmony of the yin & yang, five element, 10- heavenly stem, 12 earthly branch, 10-year cycle, 20-year, 60-year cycle, clashes, combinations are so well balanced that, it is using how each pilar balance themselves out that give you all the various interpretations. Thus, I find that having seen so many different variations in many feng shui concepts so far. However, I noticed one thing is that irregardless of the different concepts used, as long as the practitioner or master uses all the concepts together, they eventually balance out each other's inaccuracy and flaws and making suggesting the right solution possible. And that is why most of the good masters (even if there are difference in some of the theories they learnt), can still give a very good forecast and make correct changes. This is because the final analysis is ultimately how the chart balance out itself. So if I were to logically shift the feng shui concepts 6 months ahead ie. The ba zi chart which is ultimately made up of 4 main pillars, will have the heavenly stem and earthly branch properly shifted into place that the analysis result which is based on overall balance of the various factors together will not make that great of a difference. This is probably the reasons why many consultant including myself feel that really there is no need to make any changes to the concepts. To me personally, I feel that if you really want to consider this then all the concepts needs to altered to compensate for the delay. Which frankly means a completely new set of feng shui concepts for the South. As it is most people don't even fully understand the Feng Shui concepts. I really don't know how accurate it will be when they attempt to factor all these differences into the exact southern hemisphere differences. Only when such a concept is really perfected, and you do a exact comparison will one be able to say for sure if this is really necessary. For now, I still see very good results for cases we done without alternating the concepts. So my view is not really necessary.I find that being able to properly interpret the results from the overall concepts interacting with each otheris what makes a good analysis from a lousy one. Jealousy combination of stems
Dear Roeland, Roeland de Looff wrote: However, say if the day is originally wood, and the combination convert it to fire. The birth element will not change from wood to fire. It will remain as Wood, but he will have lost the Wood element property. Yes, this is only for when the Heavenly Stem of the Day has combination. Heavenly Stem of the Day will represent what element the birth chart is consisdered. For example if it is like you mentioned Wood, this person is considered born in a Wood element day. So when there is such a combination, what will happen is in the five element chart, the person will lose 1 wood, and gain 1 fire. However, the person will still be a Wood element not suddenly changed to a Fire element. This is because he is still born in a Wood element day. Roeland de Looff wrote: Could you clarify what it means that the day will remain as Wood, but has lost the Wood element property. This concept is a bit hard to understand. How can Wood loose the Wood element property? So what I mean is his birth element will remain a Wood (even though the day pillar would have loss the wood property due to the combination). However, in his balance of the element, he would have loss 1 wood, and gain 1 fire. That means that say if the day pillar is the only wood element in the entire chart. That means that he would have 0 wood in his five element. However, he is still a Wood element person. Not a Fire element person. This means he would more likely be a weak wood (if the water percentage isn't a lot). Hope this explanation makes it clearer.
