  1. Dear Oliv, Oliv Sullivan wrote: What is the best color to paint a home office, where much time is spent, that is located in the SE sector? Since wood is the element for that direction, would green be the best color or blue (wood needs water)? If red is used would that affect finances adversely? Generally, for colour scheme, you need to really check what is the stars available in that sector based on your flying star. You want to avoid colours that will activate bad stars (ie star 2/5 or other bad stars). Thus, the most neutral colour for any sector is always White (Metal). Metal can help to exhaust star bad Earth Star and even Strong Wood Star. Thus, the room should avoid strong colour, best to be light pastel colours that ie off-white. Then the next, is based on the element common to theperson(s) staying in that room. If for example, Wood benefit both person, then some shades of Green/Brown will be best colour to adopt for the room. As long as you balance about at least 2 or 3 tone colour ie Metal (White) - Water(Blue) - Wood (Green), for example it will create a harmony of colours that will help to balance and create a nice ambience in the room. Hope that helps. Warmest Regards Robert Lee GEOMANCY.NET - Center for Applied feng Shui Research
  2. Dear Anon, Anonymous wrote: I will be shifting to my new house soon. I would like to find out where is the most suitable place in the masterbedroom to hang the wedding photograph ? A friendmentioned that it is not good feng shui to hang the wedding photograph on the wall above the bed headboard. Is it true ? Frankly, this is subjective. Some people believe that if you have the picture above the bed, it signify a married couple. While others, view it in such a way that if you constantly see too much ofit, sometimes it may create more friction especially if you see it every day and night. This is especially so maybe due to age, ie as you grow older, seeing photo of yourself looking younger or thinner can have more adverse effect on you, then positive effect. Furthermore, in a room, there is very little place to be able to place such a photo. So I would rather advise that you go based putting it where you best like to be able to view the photo, if you are the type that like to see the photo everyday. If not, then keep the photo in the photo album, and hang other pictures of scenary or anything that make you feel good. Generally, the best is to keep such photos in your album instead for memory. Hope that helps. Warmest Regards Robert Lee GEOMANCY.NET - Center for Applied Feng Shui Research
  3. Dear Oliv, Oliv Sullivan wrote: What is Huo Hai? I have been told have this at my front door entrance in the west sector. Generally, in flying star star 2/5 are considered illness/misfortune. So if you have such stars in that sector, then you are considered to have some huo hai (disasaster). If there are such stars, Metal is necessary to balance the sector. You can use the free flying star report in our member area to determine if there are such stars present. The other disaster to take note is the one from your suitability, ie West is Disaster sector. In this case, you can't do much here if this is your main door, because this is a matter of suitability. You can only attempt to correct or enhance other area, that you can fix or enhance. Hope that helps. Warmest Regards Robert Lee GEOMANCY.NET - Center for Applied Feng Shui Research.

Dear Anon, Frankly, a layout would be easier for us to help you on such advise. Uncluttering is always good, but for advising where is best placement, a layout plan would speak a thousand word. Though, many factors will still need to be considered ie the best direction etc, however, the shapes and form placement is often quite important. So generally, there is usually one or two way to place a bed in most modern layout. Whether there are at least two different position, then you based on which direction will be most suitable for you. Hope that helps. Warmest Regards Robert Lee GEOMANCY.NET - Center for Applied Feng Shui Research
  5. Dear Ada, Ada C wrote: I have a 12 feet pine tree in my back yard. About 3 feet above the groud, the main trunk splits intotwo main trunks. Ada C wrote: Does this mean anything? My neighbour told me that is not good for feng shui, it that right? Should I cut it down? Generally, any single lone tree may create like a sha qi to the house. Which is why, it is better to create a garden with many different plants together to form a garden, rather than just a single tree or plant. This firstly, creates a better landscaping which makes it more pleasant to look at. Back to your question. Some people may view the splitting of tree trunk as inauspicious, because it represents a split. So may mean more disharmony for the house. Probably why your neighbout tell you it is not good. Because of this possible indication, itmight be better to remove it. As mentioned, it is better to do some landscaping to make it into a garden rather than just have one or two plants on a bare piece of land. Hope that helps. 6. Dear Anon, Anonymous wrote: I am a weak fire person and being told by another feng shui master to decorate my beauty salon in yellow and gold color, in order to bring wealth. Generally, as a weak fire, it means that you are generally lacking in either Fire or Wood. How much you actually lack or more less depends on the percentage of five element within your chart. Some weak fire is considerd lacking more Wood than Fire, or lacking more Fire than Wood, or lacking an equal amount of Wood and Fire. In general, if you lack wood and fire, you want to ensure that you enhance yourself with more of such element. You can find more about the five element and relationship from this link:- URL: http://talk.geomancy.net Metal is your wealth for a Fire person. However, unless you are strong enough, you may not benefit from having Metal. Earth on the other hand will weaken you further, so if just based on the ba zi element, this may not be the best type of colour for you. However, a full assesment basing on all factors must be considered before any proper advise can be given. But in general, the colours etc may not be that favourable for you. Hope that helps. 7. Dear Anon, Anonymous wrote: Is it advisable to live in an apartment fully round in shape? Generally, a square house is still the best. A fully round shape house will still be considered having missing corners at all 4 corners. So generally, will not be as good as a square shaped house. Furthermore, it will be extremely dificult to put in most furnitures that are basically designed in rectangular shape. The only good thing is being round, it can help defend against most sha qi as the building is like cutting outwards against other building. But generally, better to still stick to a square shaped house. Hope that helps. Warmest Regards Robert Lee GEOMANCY.NET - Center for Applied Feng Shui Research
  8. Dear John, John Low wrote: The report Ipurchased indicates that I'm a Strong Earth person. John Low wrote: My most favourable location/direction is East (Wood) but my most favourable personal element is Metal. John Low wrote: Since Metal and Wood are conflicting elements, how should I interprete these readings? Generally, the best direction (ie longevity direction etc), is based on Eight House which is based on the YEAR of birth. While the ba zi direction bases on the date and time of birth. However, though eight house is very simple, it has proven time and time again to be very useful, and it's application is more for micro level application ie bed position, study position etc. The Ba Zi direction is better for like house element, or used in macro level application such as the West side of Singapore (ie jurong), or West country ie USA etc. Of course, for some people it is ideal to have both Eight House direction and Ba Zi direction favourable. That is what we call the best overall direction. If eight house is Disaster, and ba zi element for that direction is favourable, then it is bad but not as bad as both direction being unfavourable. As mentioned, as long as you apply the concept as explained above, you wil find it easy to use this concept. Hope that helps. 9. Dear Anon, Anonymous wrote: May I know is it advisable to live in a sum of ten apartment but with main door facing the breadwinner's death direction? Anonymous wrote: What if it is a parent string house but main door still facing other unauspicious direction for the breadwinner? Generally, it is not advisable. The reason being is that a unsuitable house simply means that you cannot enjoy the maximium amount of luck from the house. ie Death and Disaster, means say you can only enjoy a small amount of luck from the house. So say the house can normally give you 100%. If it is suitable to you, you can enjoy 100%. If it is unsuitable to you, it is like saying you can only enjoy maybe about less than 25% of the entire luck. That is why, it is sometimes better to find a more suitable house, and slightly better than average house luck. Then an unsuitable house with exellent house luck. Anonymous wrote: What if he uses another door (suitable for his KUA) to enter - would that reduce the auspicious effect of the apartment/house? This depends on the a few factors. For example, say for apartments on higher level, though it is still possible take the main door as the frontage, the Qi will still majority comes from the frontage (ie living room/balcony). So in reality your luck will be treated based on that frontage. For apartments lower floors, yes this is still possible to opt for the main door entrance to use.For landed property, this might also be possible. However, generally, if is still if a proper frontagecan be determined, and that you are deemed not suitable, it should be avoided as far as possible. This willeliminate any doubts. Hopethat helps. 10. Dear Anon, Anonymous wrote: 06/26/1973 21:25h, female year Gui Chou month Wu Wu day Gui Si hour Gui Hai Day and year stems Gui both are trying to combine with the husband element Wu in the month stem. Ding is hidden the month branch. What will happen? Is it posible to month and year stem to transmorm in firewhen there is ajealosy combination with DM? If they transform what is the effect on the already we?k DM? What is the effect of this combination on the married life of the person? Thank you in advance. Generally, usually in such a case where there is two pillars that can combine with one common one. Only 1 will successfully combine if any. Often the closes or more important one will be considered first. ie if between day and month and month and year. Month and Year will first have higher preference for the combination to take place. The one that is missed ie the Day will not combine. Generally, it whether it is beneficial or not depends on whether a join combines permanently or temporarily. If Join is permanent, then the original properties is loss. If the join is temporarily, than the original properties is retained. So how it affects the overall day, depends on whether the element combines benefit the day or not. ie weak earth, and the combination converts to Fire, then it will be beneficial. ie weak metal, and the combination converts to Fire, then it will weaken the Metal. In any case, one special rule apply. Any combination or join that takes places with the day. The element will be converted to if the join is permanent. However, say if the day is originally wood, and the combination convert it to fire. The birth element will not change from wood to fire. It will remain as Wood, but he will have lost the Wood element property. One must remember, that although each pillar can be associated with the various relationship ie spouse/parents etc. Such predictions of relationship cannot be properly forecasted unless you compare the ba zi of the two person. In this case, the day however, will remain unaffected the change, so no real major impact. Warmest Regards Robert Lee GEOMANCY.NET - Center for Applied Feng Shui Research
  11. Dear Teo Choon Seng, teo choon seng wrote: Appreciate yr reply on the abv. as it seems until today, still could not get it right. I am staying in a hdb flat. #05 floor. So I supposed to take the compass direction of the door which I step back two step before reading. It is facing E and when I plot the 3X3 grid the door is located on the SE sector. Generally, if you use this it should be the better chart to use just because taking the facing direction of the door, will ensure that the flying star chart can be applied to even outside of the house (ie exterior layout). teo choon seng wrote: Another method is standing in the centre of the house, pointing the compass direction towards the door which read SE which I plot the 3X3 grid and it is still located on the SE sector. This is not wrong, just that it's scope of application is limited to just the 4 walls of your layout plan. So less flexible in the application. Basically, your house will be considered as East facing with the main door located in the South-East sector. teo choon seng wrote: After using the flying star calculator, found the base star is the same except the mountain and the water stars which is different. Pls adv which is correct. So just use the chart based on the East facing. The flying star for base star is always the house period that is built. So it will usually be the same unless you are checking two periods (ie period 7 vs period 8). It is the mountain and water star that will be different for different house direction. Hope that helps. Firstly, once the 10-yearly, yearly, 5-yearly, yearly is properly classified into good, average, bad etc. Then I would assess the above as:- 5-yearly generally good, but this year because it is inauspicious, is the least auspicious year within this 5-yearly period. Since you mentioned, both stem and branch are inauspicious, that means that stem usually representing 1st half of the year, and branch representing 2nd half of the year are both inauspicious. Therefore, this year is considered least auspicious for your day master. Anonymous wrote: 2. Why not try some of the shop selling sports or mountain tracking equipments. There are still lots of other brands no need to get Suunto. Better ones, tend to be enclosed insome anti-magnetic casing which helps to reduce magnetic influence. So far most of the compass used for trekking should be fine. The only thing is just make sure you take a reading away from your home or building structure and compare it to one taking at the building structure. Generally, if there is a deviation, mark how many degress it deviates and subtract it when you are applying your reading. 19. Dear Anon, Quote: In the 30 days free auspicious date for 2 persons, I'm able to obtain agood date for moving house as 7 Jan 2006 (Sat). However, I alsounderstand fromanother Chinese calender/website that 7 Jan clashes with the Tiger Chinese Horoscope (owner of the house). Therefore, is it a good day to move house on that day? How about dates like 31 Dec 2005 & 1 Jan 2006?Which date will be the best day for moving to a new house? Pse advise. Thank you very much. Have a nice day. Probably, this reply might be a little late as I just saw your posting today. Actually, our analysis also shows the clash 1st person (yin-shen). However, because the breadwinner is a Strong Metal, and the influence of the day combines with your 1st person to form water influence. Water is good for Strong Metal person, so this reason helps to reduce the clash impact of the yin-shen. Of course, ideally, it will be great if you can find a perfect date which absolutely no clashes or harm etc. But in reality, this is virtually impossible. Thus, overall the date is still considered favourable. If you have a choice and there is another date which is earlier or later that you can use and does not have the clash, that would be ideal. However, if there isn't then this date is considered the best available already. Seems, that you are looking for a weekend date, so it will narrow down the choices available. Hope that helps. 20. Dear Anon, Frankly, our online calculator does a lot more deeper analysis, as such if it has determined you as a weak Fire, you are a weak fire. Water in this case will be a favorable element. Though, this might seem the case, to determine whether you are a weak or strong depends a lot on other factors that might alter or change the your chart element. In your case, it might seem that your Fire is a Strongest due to being in Summer. However, the presents of the Fire ie your Si in the Month pilar, combines with Shen to convert that Fire to Water. Thus, losing the Fire element which could have made you strong. Element Strength Percentage 7 Water Weakest 53 % 0 Wood Weak 0 % 1 Fire Strongest 12 % 3 Earth Strong 30 % 1 Metal Extremely Weak 2 % So end up your chart has overall only 12% Fire and having excess of Water. In addition, it has 0% of Wood to support the Fire. Thus, you are a weak Fire, not a Strong Fire. Frankly, a person's ba zi element is difficult to assess properly unless you do a detailed analysis of the five element, it's strength, the season it is in, the clashes and combinations that come into effect.
