  1. Dear Weimin, Weimin Tu wrote: hi there =) im 17 this year and i have 2 small fish tanks in my room by the window. Well, i heard from people that having a fish tank in the room is not good for feng shui. are they right? because i like my fishes and i don't know where elseto place them. Not advisable. As in the previous post, the bedroom is should be quiet. The more scientific reason would be the water in the fish tank tends to have a certain type of fishy smell, plus depending on the fish some fish may make noise so that is becomes noisy. These two will not be good for a good nice rest. As such, fish tank is best place in non-bedroom (it study room ok but not bedroom for sleeping), or usually better in the living room. Hope that helps. Warmest Regards Robert Lee GEOMANCY.NET for Applied Feng Shui Research
  2. Edited by Robert: A user tried to reply but posted as a new topic, so re-post it here. it is not advisable to place a fish tank at the bedroom because it isyin place(quiet ).
  3. Dear Hoa Luong, Hoa Luong wrote: I'm a strong water. A few of my inauspicious days this month are fire element which is my wealth color. It was suggested in the auspicous dates section that I should wear my favorable elements on the inauspicious days. My favorable elements are wood, earth and fire. My reasoning is that I should wear earth color on an inauspicious fireelement day since earth reducesfire. Am I reasoning correctly? Generally, when a day is inauspicious, it normally means that there are either some conflict between the day and the year and with your ba zi or suitability. So it is not necessary directed directly at your own individual element or suitability. The reason why it asks you to wear more of your colours, is because once you can balance up your luck or chart, any clashes to you will be minimised. That is why having either wood, earth of fire will generally still be ok irregardless of the day. Hope that helps. Warmest Regards Robert Lee GEOMANCY.NET - Center for Applied Feng Shui Research

  6. Dear Anon, Anonymous wrote: I am new to this website. Just curious whether are our destinies(study, career, marriage, etc...)set when we are born? Are we able to change or accept them as it is???? In general, under feng shui there is Heaven, Earth, Human luck. So under the heaven luck, it is often said that the kind of luck a person is supposed to have is generally pre-determined. However, since there are still two more factors Earthluck and Human luck, these two can still help to alter some of the given luck. For example, a good Earth luck can make an inauspicious 10-year luck better than it is predicted in the ba zi. Good Human luck ie having good relationship with your boss, can make your career path smoother. So these can make it better than the predicted luck. So that means that your given is generally pre-destined. However, you can still make the best of it depending on your Earth and Human luck. Hope that helps. 7. Dear Cheryl, cheryl ludwig wrote: As I have been saying, I am getting ready to buy a house. I want to do the right thing when choosing a house. Here is a question: The house I am looking at right now is the correct gua number for me. My number is 8 and the house number is 1151, which equals 8. You helped me with how to do this in my previous question. My question is this: Is is more important to be in a house with the appropriate gua number or is it more important to have the house in one of the four good directions - if the two are different (i.e. -the gua is good, but the direction is not so good). With my gua as 8, the house number equalling 8, the direction is barely NE of the main door. I will find out exactly the degrees. But, is this ok? To have a good gua number, and not worry about the direction? Or vice versa? Thank you in advance. In general, the auspicious house number has least influence over the house. It probably will affect the resale value of the house. For example houses with 4 will find it harder to sell simply because most buyers will avoid 4 (die in cantonese). Compared to a house number that is 8, most people will often choose this first, thus easier to sell. So you should go for a more suitable facing as that will impact how much luck you can get from the house. The more suitable the house, your luck will generally be better and thus, things will go well for you. So always go for the better more suitable and better location houses as these will ultimately be more important than house number. You should only look at house number when you have two units which are good and not sure which to go. Hope that helps. Warmest Regards Robert Lee GEOMANCY.NET- Center for Applied Feng Shui Research
  8. Dear Anon, Anonymous wrote: Just wondering... It is said that I am Strong Water. I am a cartoonist, illustratorand a graphic novelist. Art is water too, yes? Does that mean I took the wrong career? If I only consider your career suitability, yes probably cartoonist, illustrator and graphic novelist will be considered weater element and so not suitable for you. However, there are many areas in your life (ie your house suitability/element, your career, the colours/element you wear, the people around you, your own luck period etc). Of which the house will have the greatest amount of luck. So if you want to have water career, then you need to make sure you have at least a Wood house (ie East facing etc). And have peple around you which is wood or earth element. Ultimately, it is attaining a balance. If you can get enough elements to exhaust the excess water, it will still be possible to have a water element career. Just that you probably have to work harder tobenefit from this career as opposed to a more suitable career. Hope that helps. 9. Dear Desmond, Desmond Woo wrote: I would like to ask you that in order to calculate out time pillar, do we use the time in our own country or do we need to synchronize to the China time +8 hr? I'm a Singaporean by the way for your infomation and I'm a bit confused whether or not to use our local time. In general, we find that most of the modern concepts about applying the time zone factor isn't the right way to apply location factor into the bazi. ie the time zone is so simplified now that, it is no longer accurate furthermore, it only applies to one aspect of location. The only true way is to apply the long. and lat of place of birth. However, even this, I find that it is flawed. Reason being who will really record the exact long. and lat. of birth. I mean even in a hospital, do you know that that even if you give birth in different rooms, the long. and lat. will be very different? This means that even 1 degree off, will completely make the chart even less accurate than without considering this factor. And if you know how the ba zi works, the month pillar is ultimately what defines most of the luck period. While the hour pillar only helps to determine if a element is weak or strong. In general, only a few hour in the day will affect the weak/strong. Otherwise, the rest only affects the accuracy on determining what kind of characteristics a chart might have (ie strong wealth, power & authority etc). And it was designed to be calculated even if you do not have the hour of birth, so hour of birth is often not really necessary to have a fair prediction of what is your given luck. So because of these many reasons, we find that really there is no need to apply any changes to the original concepts, thus just use your local time of birth. So in general, the impact isn't as great as what most people think it will be. No changes necessary. Desmond Woo wrote: And last but not least, I would like to ask you if people born in the year of the monkey, is it true that he/she is not suitable to wear blue tiger-eye stones as in the Chinese Zodiac, the monkey actually oppose the tiger. The reason most people say this will be because Tiger clashes with Monkey under the zodiac sign. However, as mentioned time and time again, true feng shui is about harmonising yourself to the environment. Most of the time it is about finding the most suitable house, best direction etc. Most of the items that are being promoted as feng shui enhancers are generally not really so. Most of these items if any only enhances the human luck. ie if it makes you feel good, no harm in wearing them. But one must understand that there is really not special powers on such items that really affect you. These are all mostly symoblic representations of good or bad only based on the different concepts. Hope that helps. Warmest Regards Robert Lee GEOMANCY.NET - Center for Applied Feng Shui Reseach
  10. Dear I Hui, l hui wrote: I have something else I would like to ask now - Since I am weak wood, I lack water and wood. I should avoid metal, as it destroys wood. But I am very interested in graphic designing and animation. However,it involves computers. Computers are asscociated with the metal element. Would graphic design/animation be a good career for me? If not, what should I do? Actually, computer is built of metal, however it is not really defined as metal. This is because computer is very flexible and thus because of the flexibility on the software, it is actually defined more as Water (because it is flexible in it is use ie if you use marketing software it is Fire, if you use art software it is water, if you use finance software it is metal). Due to this flexible nature of computer, it is often classify as Water. But if you work in IT industry, it is Metal. Furthermore, graphic designing and animation is art or creative which is Water. So I would say, that as we weak wood, water element type is favourable for you. Hope that helps. Warmest Regards Robert Lee GEOMANCY.NET - Center for Applied Feng Shui Research
  11. Dear Anon, Anonymous wrote: Could you please let me know the effect of metal portable building structures used as a temporary office on persons who are already of a strong metal element. Generally, as a Strong Metal person, having anything metal will of course not be favourable to that person. However, in general, most furnitures are generally made of Wood, Metal or Glass (water). Of which Wood furnitures are the most popular. So that would make Strong Wood person will be most at the greatest disadvantage as most furniture is wood element, right? Well, not really. In feng shui, we need to prioritize which is more important and which is least important. So like if you have an unfavourable or unsuitable house, this has much more impact then just like the colour within the room. Just like the colour of the room will have more impact over the colour of the clothes you were. This is because the colour of the clothes you were improve your luck on a personal level, while the colour of the room influence your overall luck when you stay in the room. Furthermore, if it is only a temporary office, it should be ok. Just wear more of your favourable colours to help minimise the impact. But in general, there are usually other factors to consider. Often, a little will not be too bad. Having too much and for long period will of course not be favourable. But you still need to consider that you have other factors (your home, your career, your colours, people around you etc). The more in your favour, the better for you, so even if you have one or two that is not in your favour it won't matter too much. Hope that helps. 12. Dear Anon, Anonymous wrote: Please advise is there a general guide line to choose a date for shifting house? What should I look out for when I'm trying to determine the date? Or is there a general calender for the whole year which should which date is good for shifting? In general, there are a few ways of checking to determine a good date:- 1. If you do not plan to use a tung shu / alamac calendar or ba zi, then most will agree that 1st or 15th day of the lunar calendar is often considered an auspicious date in general. 2. If you at least have a tung shu / alamac calendar, you can look for dates which is stated to be generally auspicious. In general, these should be good dates for everyone on this planet. 3. The more accurate way is to check on tung shu (avoiding really bad dates), while makings sure it is suitable to your ba zi. These are really the more personalised dates that will fit you. Given that each person is unique, there is no such perfect date that is good for everyone. Thus, by matching against your ba zi, this gives you the best dates. 16. Dear SF Choe, Quote: Renovations included relocating 3 toilets/bathrooms, tearing down and creating some walls in all 3 floors, and extended tha back of house further by 5ft (2 storeys high and additional new 5ft roof added). Completely newly replaced were water piping, all the flooring, ceiling and electrical wiring. All in, I would say about 80% of the house was renovated. In general, the tearing down and creation of walls is as good as a major renovation as the Qi flow within the house is affected. As such the house will be deemed as a Period 8 house. Hope that helps. 17. Dear Anon, Anonymous wrote: I have encounteredproblems with roof leaking , water pipe leaking ,wiring problems andother problems which have all been fixed. Does these problems signify bad feng shui ? My neighbour does not encounter much problem with his new house. Does this mean his house is of better feng shui? To be frank, these problems are quite common and all really depends a lot on the quality of the developer of the house. I won't probably push all the problem to the fact that the house has lousy feng shui. Usually if the feng shui is really bad, then there will be other problems such as illness or constant string of other non house related issues etc. If there isn't, then it is not really a bad feng shui but just initial problems with the house which usually can be corrected by complainting to the developers. However, probably that owner is luckier to get a house with less development flaws. Hope that helps. Warmest Regards Robert Lee GEOMANCY.NET - Center for Applied Feng Shui Research

Dear Simon, Simon Lau wrote: Want to seek your opinion whether I could follow what this webpage has advised on how I could improve my luck, fortune, etc As mentioned time and time again, true feng shui does not really require the use of any feng shui items or products. The only true way to improveyour heaven luck is to know what element you are, and then work to ensure that as many areas in your life is of the favourable element. This is done by knowing your element and relating it to the various five element relationship as shown in this link:- URL: http://talk.geomancy.net The other, is ensure that you get a house with good feng shui luck and ensure that it is suitable to you and your family. 23. Dear Anon, Anonymous wrote: Newspaper had published that the favourable colour this year for those people born in year of Rat is white, blue and black. One should always remember that usually any horoscope forecast for the year is quite general at best. I mean it is all about interpretating how each of the 12 animal signs will fair in that year. I always say that it is fine to read such forecast, but never take it too seriously. The reason is each person is unique and depending on the date and time of birth will have different luck and individual forecast. So every year, dependning on which day and time they are born will have different luck. Even with out forecast, we included the different elements and strengths (ie weak water/strong water rat). Each will have different luck. But even with that, it is still very general. So usually, you don't need to be too obessed with the predictions. Anonymous wrote: from my ba zi free analysis report, I belong to weak Earth and so my favourable colour would be red and yellow. Our this reports does a date and time of birth analysis, so this will determine what element you are and which element tend to be more favourable. So when you compare to a year of birth prediction, of course the ba zi will be more accurate for enhancing your own luck. This is why your individual ba zi luck forecast will superceed most of the general horoscope forecast. As it is at least able to consider all the individual pillars and whether there are clashes etc. So if you are a weak Earth, then generally your favourable element would be red (Fire) or yellow (Earth). Exactly, whether you may benefit with more Fire or Earth, that depends on the balance of your five element percentage, which is only available in the paid reports. 24. Dear Sreekumar, Sreekumar K wrote: I am a strong metal person with kua number 6. What all gadgets shall I use to enhance my lucky directions and what shall do about my unlucky directions? The only way you can benefit from a lucky direction is simply to use it. if North-West isone your lucky direction. So if your house facing North-West for example, you will benefit from it based on your direction. Or if your bedroom is located within that the NW sector, you will be staying in a favourable room. As for unlucky direction, you would probably want the unlucky direction to fall under like storeroom or toilet or less commonly used area. The eight house is a very simple concept for your 4 good and 4 bad sectors. So if you use the good sector, then you can benefit from the luck. If you don't use the bad sector then it won't affect you. True Feng Shui does not really need the use of any gadgets or items or products. It is simply about using the tools to help you find the most suitable home, best colour scheme, the best career etc. The more areas in your life that is favourable, the better your overall luck.
