  1. Mother of all Jade: Pure white Jade or known as "Imperial Gem"
  2. Edwardde Bono and his "Lateral Thinking".... In my opinion, don't justfocus on theactual meaning or association of a "solid object" with mass as anythingthat has to be solid. Lateral Thinking;with symbolism... helps...it can also be a painting of a mountain etc.....
  3. Hey! Take-a-look at a caricature, I did in 2000 i.e. 11 donkey years ago... Frankly, if nothing ever happens after placing the FU DOGs; at least, the dogs can mark their teritory! Thus the Fu dogs are... fit for the dogs!
  4. Erh.. with a brick all the TIME? YES/ NO?
  5. These are some considerations: 1. On your first question; there is no hard or fast rule so long as it is not "concealed' or hidden from view. 2. You said: "I was thinking in lieu of some objects that I haven't thought of, can one hang up a 5kg bag of rice by placing it in a plastic bag and hanging it on the water pipes?" 2.1. Sorry, I cannot help it but...after glancing this statement, my toes kept on laughing on this 2nd Day of the Chinese New Year! 2.2. Very recently, I believe was a few months ago; this person called me to say that he had sought the help of a local lady geomancer. And he was hesitant to use her advice! The lady geomancer asked him to hang a metal hulu (bottle gourd) directly above one of his doors! 2.3. Imagine, due to commonsense; her client; dare not question her; but asked me; what happens if the metal hulu drops down? Would cause serious injuries... especially to his young and even to the elder or other family members. 3. Especially for youngsters and toddlers; their skull is not fully fused or formed; and what would be worse? 4. If this was 1935; and this was Germany; and if that lady geomancer were to have provided the advice to Adolf Hitler; and just imagine; that hulu had crashed down and "killed" his favourite dog; he would certainly have got that lady geomancer hanged with a piano string! 5. Sorry for the side-track.... erh... 6. Please note that if the mountain star falls at the back door; this is excellent!. No body has said this, but the reason why a back door is that; even if it is a mountain star; ain't it good if such qi can also come into the home. 7. Stop the ridicious or Looney Tunes idea of hanging "silly" objects on water pipe or other fittings... gravity will one day ultimately win! 7.1. Hanging things even with a piano string is "rubbish!" 8. Under symbolism; even a painting or picture of e.g. the great wall of China or a painting of a mountain, with some e.g. pine trees and tiny birds in the picture.. is fine or ok.
  6. 1. Frankly, all these figurines have more to do with or much like any other decorative items; one buy to "beautify" the home. 2. Of course; these products end up becoming associated with "in the name of Fung Sway". 3. The key ingredient or the "main course" of these products are: "IF IT MAKES YOU FEEL, GOOD! WHAT'S THE HARM? RITE?" 4. It is just like some Chinese buy a laughing buddha. And they place somewhere in their tiny apartment facing the main entrance door. When anyone steps into that home; the laughing buddha "meets and greets" with a "smile". To some of these folks; it is much like a soothing relief... 5. In Singapore; the smaller the apartment; the more "Fung Sway" items are /were place in that tiny apartment. 6. For example, in many instances; the government housing flats: especially the 1 room or 3 room flats... Walk a few paces and there is the standard altar; a few more paces; some sort of "Fung Sway" figurine... turn your head and often one sees a fish tank... and more... 7. The larger, the flat; and the better the location and type of development; these products disappear...many altogether.... 8. Thus look at the contrast! Between the "small, smaller and smallests" vs "larger, larger and prestigious location".... 9. Today's Fung Sway, has also caused; or a catalyst of some divorces; makes the moneylenders happy: banks love "roll-over credits"... etc.... Don't follow that path... please... 10. Remember: Buy something for the love of it. Not for the sake of Fung Sway! 11. When the buying STOPS; the SELLING, Can! 12. Even in a country like Silly Singapore; we are all smart enough not to be conned by swindlers.. Yet, many whole heartly endorse products in the name of Fung Sway! Do your maths; these people are swindlers... and at least in casinos; some make it big; but here, no one except the seller makes it big!
  7. One must understand the concept: 1. If one does not spent lots of time "exposed" to the sharp wall edges; then this is not an issue. 2. Many homes have exposed sharp wall edges and again, if you are not "there" what is the problem, here. 3. Most of concerns are at places we spent most of our time. Thus, I would be concerned if the sharp wall edge is in the bedroom and even if it is in the bedroom, it must literally cause a poison arrow. 3.1. And it is not the same as; "you feel that it is a threat"; but in many instances or in reality, it does not pose a problem to say one's bed. 4. The same is true for a ceiling beam. If one is not under a ceiling beam for 2 hours per day per year; there is no issue; here. 5. In conclusion: Is it real or imaginary? Is any physical soul "attacked" by the sharp wall edges all the time? Yes/No?
  8. These are some considerations:- 1. Scientific or Hocus Pocus Fung Sway? 1.1. Scientific Feng Shui is about e.g. plotting a Flying Star chart to either enhance good qi or negate or neutralise bad qi. 1.2. Frankly, without drawing up the above, chart, might as well then go the route of Hocus Pocus Fung Sway. 2. Over-eating 2.1. In my opinion, placing a salt cure, here, there and everywhere is like a case of over-eating. 2.2. In the long term over-eating is unhealthy.... eat moderately... please. 3. Modern vs Ancient 3.1. In ancient times; an open jar of salt, water, copper coins is reactive... suppose to create ions... 3.2. In modern times; we now know of ions: both positive and negative. 3.3. Nowadays, there are such things as ionizers to clear the air; one of the most popular brands is from Japan = Sharp. 4. Do you know that an open top salt water cure should be placed in a well ventilated place? As the chemical reaction would give off "fumes" even if it is minute... 5. Seriously, I can't image a house full of "open top" (no covered lid) salt water cure all over....
  9. Frankly, no offense, please! This is another one of those, first..... First time, ever in my life and the life of this forum that one asked this question of the resource link. Therefore, most likely; either your fingers did not do more walking (using the search feature) to find out more or.... This is precisely what you should do:- The Three-Step-Approach
  10. Again, appreciate; please note the following:- 1. There are already tons of past resources on the subject of mirrors. 2. Make an effort to use your fingers to the "walking" by using the SEARCH feature on this forum. Simple search terms like "Mirror in bedroom " etc.. would yield the answer to your mirrored wardrope issue. Look at it this way, your friend is not the only one that faces or is concerned with this issue. This issue has been around even before this forum existed. Extract from a past message:- http://forum.geomancy.net/phpforum/article.php?bid=2&fid=1&mid=15138&new= 3. You have to be realistic; and go search for the French term: Triage.. Some of the info is posted below:- http://forum.geomancy.net/phpforum/article.php?bid=2&fid=1&mid=15138&new= http://forum.geomancy.net/phpforum/article.php?bid=2&fid=1&mid=24431&new 4. You wrote "Could you suggest a colour of curtain please. The wall in question is at the east side of her house and I have read that yellow would be a good colour here." 4.1 Check out Para 3. above. Or you might as well flip a coin and get your answers, there. 5. Use the SEARCH feature on the TOP left frame of this forum, please.
  11. Just think about this little statement that geomancers always say.. in such a situation:- Geomancer 1; Geomancer 2; let's put it this way, lots of Geomancer says: " WHAT A WASTE! " (full stop) Hope this helps!
  12. These are some of the considerations:- 1. Just imagine, parents, grand-parents and great grand parents time; where got such figurines. 2. In modern society, we have to call these objects; modern invention. 3. Again in modern times; many businessmen, choose to try to sell products; in the name of Fung Sway. Why? 4. A simple product or figurine.. costs "next to nothing" to produce. But suddenly when it was wrongly value added "in the name of Fung Sway"; supernormal profits are made out of the idea of "greed begets greed". 5. Guess, who pockets the supernormal profits; and guess who is "poorer" by that amount. 6. My grand parents, your grand parents; did not have such items... so how? Only a "select" few have it; like yourself... 7. A businessman will not sell a product and give a guarantee that within say 14 days; one will get a wind-fall. 8. Thus, the morale of the story? When the buying Stops; the Selling Can! Applies. 9. Treat it like just any decorative item that one fancies; and like. Not just because of or for the sake of Fung Sway. 10. Again, (literally although one is poorer buying it) but if it makes the person; happy; Then it is a plus point for some - feel good = human factors... not Fung Sway...
  13. Herry, Thanks very much and Gong Xi Fa Cai; to you and your family in Indonesia!
  14. Why bother to be a lawyer or an accountant? In the 1980's just open a charity and become it's boss! But.. erh.. don't every install a gold tap or travel first class! Please!
  15. There are two factors, here:- 1. In theory, under the Five Elements concept & Compass School; sounds reasonable. 2. Furthermore, under human factors; if it makes you feel good.. WHY NOT?
  16. Just remember this: 1. Holy Trinity of Luck. 1.1. According to the Chinese system; there are three forms of Luck:- 1.1.1. Heaven Luck = born with and the last denominator is "one's birth element". 1.1.2. Earth Luck = Feng Shui of home and place of work 1.1.3. Human or Man luck = education, experience, colleagues, family, friends... 2. Mathematically:- Heaven Luck = 33.3 percent Earth Luck = 33.3 percent Human Luck = 33.3333333333333333333 percent... 3. At 34 and if a salaried worker (sorry, I have nothing against salaried worker). Not much, can be done, unless? Hmm... work for the Government? Uncle Mac Donalds or Auntie Burger King?? That sort of thing. 4. Literally speaking.. even if one bangs one's head against the wall; Malay word " Otak become Kosong or Zero". (Brain = zero = brain dead) what can one achieve? 5. Even if one get a perfect Heaven Luck score of 33.333333333333333333333333333 percent, and beg the school or principal to award one with 34 marks. Do you think that one pass or fail the examination? Often, scores are given as 50 marks as the passing mark. 6. Maybe the benevolent school allows one to get 40 as the passing mark. So still fail! 7. The morale of the story; squeeze out luck from other areas. 8. The rich gets richer because they have quantum leap in luck such as "Earth Luck". 8.1. One: They often live on landed property and some thru good luck, blessed with a good home; 8.2. Two: Others, employ geomancers to try to help their home "suck wealth" from the neighbourhood or to fix leaks in a home to try to squeeze better luck. 8.3. Three: For some, some homes are like unpolished gem; once's polished, can bring great results even for a salaried worker. 8.4. Unfortunately, (crude saying = some homes are like "shit") Some homes are like 10 year run down car. So don't expect a miracle to happen! After a Fung Sway visit; the home (akin) to a run down 10 year old 800 cc car becomes a new Mercedes or BMW orPorche. 9. Today, since around 2005; many smart people; use services like Can or cannot buy; nib the source instead of buying a home and then get a geomancer to improve the home. 10. I am not asking to do such things. 11. In fact, some people, don't have much Heaven nor Earth luck but got good Human or man luck factors... Are even just as good .. in other areas... 12. Other than this Holy Trinity of luck sort of thing.. many people aways say.. education is forever... so even if you are 34 plus, plus, if there is a will; there is a way. But, odds are often stacked against the "old" when it comes Singapore business... Note:If one is born in Singapore and 30 years and below; most likely, our "play safe";learning by routor memorizing contents make most of us.. a typical salaried worker.... Furthermore, the higher one get in education; most likely.. risk adverse. Furthermore, Singapore is a small tiny red dot.. so market is small. And the no brainer is: go take a look at all the shopping centres: Fairprice with NTUC Unity, Cold Storage (Giant)with Guardian, Cheers (Fairprice) with 7 Eleven (Cold Storage); Manyare government associated companies. ManySingaporeans end up opening a tediousF and Boutlet... The worst cases are those "bubble tea" business where one apes another several years back! Gosh...
  17. These are some of the considerations:- 1. Time Dimensions and Flying Star #numbers 1.1. Current significance of star numbers: 1.1. Under the Flying Star Feng Shui, there are a total of 9 numbers or 9 grids or (9 star ki). 1.2. We are now under Period 8: 2004 to 2023. 1.2.1 According to the Flying Star Period; the reigning number is suppose to be very auspicious. 1.2.2 The major stars under the 20 Year Flying stars are the #Water and #Mountain stars. While many geomancers treat the base star (or palace) star as of lesser significane. 1.3. Therefore since we are under Period 8: 2004 to 2023:- 1.3.1. #8 = Current Prosperity = Very auspicious often considered as current luck or often range from now to 2 years. 1.3.2. #9 = Future prosperity star ( On 6/9/2004 8:27:48 AM, Paris Chee wrote: Dear Mr Lee I read one Fengshui book that says if a house has each sector's water star and base star added up and equals to 10 in every sector, it is a very auspicious house that will have good prosperity and academic success. An example is a house sitting south and facing north. Is this true? However it also stated that frontage must have either water star 7,8 or 9. But it is Period 8 now, does frontage has 7 still deemed auspicious although its still added up to 10. Greatly appreciate your opinion. Thank You Paris Paris C. wroteear Mr LeeI read one Fengshui book that says if a house has each sector's water star and base star added up and equals to 10 in every sector, it is a very auspicious house that will have good prosperity and academic success. My period 8 house this year 2011 has this sum of 10 for all flying star sectors and also a 9m 7w at my front door. I wonder whether this forumer's post is still valid?
  18. These are some considerations:- 1. Taking a slice from Strategic Planning resources: a job we are in can be considered under two levels: The industry that one is in and what is one's job function. 2. In between this is your field of expertise: IT. 3. In general, pharmacy and oil industry is often associated as belonging to the "fire element" (Pharmacy is chemical related). 4. While Agro-technology is a wide area: include horticulture computer systems; greenhouse; sowing machines and even earth materials. Overall, in a wide sense it could be associated with the earth element as it is part of the process of agricultural food production. 5. Nowadays with multi-skilling; one has to identify one's core job function. 6. For a CEO; for example: he is overall in-charge of the entire business. Some smaller firms may even have such a boss; overseeing: Accounting, Sales-Marketing, Operations etc... But as his core function is to expand the company or grow it; thus it should be the "wood element". 7. Silly fools: 7.1. Actually many of us are "silly fools"; why? 7.2. The main purpose of this "career outline or call it guidiance" is meant more especially for a teenager. Many geomancers would look at which careers (if any) are more suited to the child. 7.3. At your age; even if you are 24 or 25; and for those especially in their 30's or 40's trying to switch job; and many such silly fools are nothing but "salaried workers". For salaried workers; one's ability to switch job (if any) is often related to one's experience and for some "paper qualifications". 7.4. Thus, if one is in the IT business for donkey years; and job function is related to it : be it a system analyst; a programmer, integration, IT sales and marketing.. How the hell can one become say an accountant? or another profession! So sorry, can be done! Go get one of those fly-by night bogus or degree-mills to issue such a "diploma". 8. Nowadays, the "career" advice should be taken with a PINCH of SALT! 9. Even today, many geomancers; don't want to apply "auto-suggestion and self-fullfilling" prophercy into their work. 10. Modern education specialist counsellors should give better advice than us (geomancers). 11. For example, in Singapore, 20 to 30 years ago, being a lawyer is fantastic! Especially those doing conveyancing for banks (home loans). Nowadays, some lawyers, even give up their profession. 12. Commonsense: 12.1. All of us can be slotted into the Right brain or Left brain category. Thus, some of us are more mathematical while others are more humanities type of subject. Thus, if one's child is good at mathematics; Ivy leaque schools in the US include MIT or Berkley (UIC). While if one is more humanities or spatial; then go to Harvard to study Business Management etc... 12.2. Therefore, you are smart enough to question can our birth "condemn" us to a specific type of career? On paper or in the Ba zi "theory" yes. But in reality no. 13. Furthermore, look at it this way; in the past, a butcher is a butcher; a merchant is a merchant. Nowadays, remember; multi-skilling. 14. Some "blame" the Japanese for the term "multi-skilling". Nowadays, we blame the PC industry: all of us know the term: multi-tasking... ! Our PC has softwares that can run con-currently!
  19. These are some of the considerations:- 1. Firstly, thanks for the sketch. 2. The bad news is the sketch is so general that I can only provide some guideline:- 2.1 Yoursketch seemsquite close to this article's information:- http://forum.geomancy.net/phpforum/article.php?bid=2&fid=1&mid=26501&new= 2.2 More info.... http://forum.geomancy.net/phpforum/article.php?bid=2&fid=1&mid=16667&new= 3. Frankly, there are other factors:- 3.1. Which country is it? Vehicles (Cars) = Right-hand drive or Left-hand drive 3.2. How far is the home is to the road. 3.3. Things like boundary: type of fencing or brick wall / gate? 4. Commonsense:- One got to use commonsense + some practical imagination and ask a question: WHAT HAPPENS if a runaway car PLOUGHS into the home? Sort of question..... Please read the above links. I believe the above links have enough resources.... Is this house good or bad fengshui? The house number is 324. It's on an outside corner lot. Please see image illustration here: 324 House*** One side of the road is a dead end, the other side leads to a main road. You can see the 324 house on the opposite side of the dead end road, but you cannot see the 324 house from the opposite side of the road lead the main road.
  20. These are some considerations:- 1. You said: " I am a bit confused as my front door faces South West and according to some Feng Shui literature I am reading the front door is always considered as North." 1.1. No, I believe such literature belongs to the "Hocus Pocus" type of dubious Fung Sway and not real Feng Shui sites. 1.2. If I were you, I avoid such sites like the "plaque" or H1N1 or even A.I.D.s .. sort of thing. 2. Traditional Feng Shui uses two major schools: 2.1. Shapes and Forms Feng Shui 2.2. Compass School: Eight House (4 Good/Bad) and Flying Star Feng Shui 3. Thus as the name "Compass School" suggests; one requires to use a REAL compass. 3.1. So how can all main doors face NORTH right? If one uses a REAL compass; compass direction varies with the compass needle when taking a reading. 3.2. As a guideline when taking a compass reading; one has to be careful of not having the reading(s) affected by the re-inforced steel bars found in the columns or floors of homes or offices as it may often affect the compass reading. http://forum.geomancy.net/phpforum/article.php?bid=2&fid=6&mid=27497&new=%3EHouse%20Hunting%20:%20A%20Lot%20Position%20-%20%3Cem%3EFeng%20Shui%3C/em 3.3 Another guidline is often the use of a protactor, a streetdirectory map. See attachment.
  21. Yes, in layman terms; center-of-gravity and centerpoint or if you want to call it "Center of area" is similar. Usually, center-of-gravity is more specific to a person, photocopy a layout; paste it on a cardboard; cut-out the outline and balance this item on a pin to locate the center-of-gravity. While drawing a centerpoint is just that : looking at an image and trying to figure out where the centrepoint is. Center = American Centre = British
  22. The first picture looks orange colour. If it is ORANGE colour; then I must qualify; for the Chinese, we consider orange colour as = gold. As mentioned many past forum messages; Hokkiens = Orange = Kim or Gold; Cantonese = Orange = Kum which is also refers to gold. And during the 15th days of Chinese New Year, exchanging a pair of oranges = gold. Frankly, I don't know what other races or religion consider orange = if they ever consider it in this way. Thus politically speaking I am Chinese so if you ask me; I second the above!
  23. Is it possible to get electricuted while taking an authentic Finnish sauna bath? Yes, if you read the fine prints ... pasted by the management of Hillbrooks condo, Hillview avenue...
  24. You wrote: "We have decided to sell this house and go to a new house, due to the above issues and my son has no friends in the current location.what do you suggest? Do you suggest me to sell this house and go to some other house ?" We have to be equally logical about it. The rationale is because, there is no other alternative home to compare with. If the new home turns out well; then it is good. But, what happens if the new (be it new or resale) home has "equal" or worst issues than this? Thus, as it is; this is no other comparison between your existing home vs some other home(s).
