It is my belief that it is crucial to keep in mind that when we analyze or engage our critical thinking skills, various aspects such as traditions, habits, and even Feng Shui are frequently linked to the concept of rationality = Common sense. http://forum.geomancy.net/phpforum/article.php?bid=2&fid=6&mid=31093&new=When a question is posted on the forum, I consistently consider whether it can be linked to common sense. It is often the case that the answer is simply common sense. The next time you need to explain something to your child or family, consider whether it is a matter of common sense.

In my opinion, one should respect one's religion or practices. But, do take into consideration; like health. As an important study was done with 61,320 Singaporeans between 45 and 74 years old:- Source and Credit: http://www.abc.net.au/science/articles/2008/08/26/2346562.htm Partial Quote: Significant increase For their study, the researchers followed 61,320 Singapore Chinese men and women between the ages of 45 and 74 years old from the Hokkien or Cantonese dialect group. All of the subjects were cancer-free at the outset. Participants reported on their typical incense use, including how often they burned it in their homes and for how long - only at night, for instance, or all day and night. Over the next 12 years, 325 men and women developed cancer of the upper respiratory tract, such as nasal, oral or throat cancer. Another 821 developed lung cancer. The researchers found that incense use was associated with a statistically significant higher risk of cancers of the upper respiratory tract, with the exception of nasopharyngeal cancer. However, they observed no overall effect on lung cancer risk. The link between incense use and increased cancer risk held when the researchers weighed other factors, including cigarette smoking, diet and drinking habits. On the surface Those who used incense heavily also had higher rates of a type of cancer called squamous cell carcinoma, which refers to tumours that arise in the cells lining the internal and external surfaces of the body. The risk was seen in smokers and non-smokers. Study participants who used incense in their homes all day or throughout the day and night were 80% more likely than non-users to develop squamous cell carcinoma of the entire respiratory tract. "This association is consistent with a large number of studies identifying carcinogens in incense smoke," Friborg's team writes, "and given the widespread and sometimes involuntary exposure to smoke from burning incense, these findings carry significant public health implications." They say further studies are needed to see whether different types of incense are associated with different degrees of cancer risk. Further to what I had mentioned, it is considered much wiser to place the incense urn outside of the home especially if we do close the main entrance door (often). As there were many cases where prolonged inhaling of incense fumes can be cancerous to family members. Thus, placing it at the balcony area would DEFINITELY mean that the fumes could come into the home. While at the main entrance, it still can but often, this area is close to the entrance area / kitchen and dining area ; which often is less of a health concern.

These are some considerations: 1. Some higher end condominium units have smoke detectors at lift lobby area especially those that have been asked to do due to fire regulations. 1.1. Thus, do check before, placing the incense burner in such a situation. 1.2. Otherwise, this is usually a better option - provided there is adequate space or clearance and it does not intrude nor cause hinderance to your neighbouring unit. 1.3. Left or right depends on Shapes and Forms Feng Shui. Often, what matters is that the placement must make sense of the location - again it should not cause a nuisance or hinderance to your neighbour. 2. Often, if there is no choice outside of the unit; such as too tight a space at the common corridor; then placing at one's balcony is a last resort. Or if been warned not to place at the common property. 3. Your balcony is your personal "property" thus, unless it is deemed not safe or later specks of incense falls towards your neighbour, this is the last resort. 4. Try to explore outside your main door first.

1. This question has been asked in the past. 2. Please note that the General Horoscope Luck is based on YEAR of birth. 3. But all dates and time even under http://dates.geomancy.net or dates.geomancy.net or all our paid reports are based on: YEAR, MONTH and DAY of birth. 4. It is based on plain common sense. Here, Para 3 should be more accurate because three FIELDs were looked into.

Unfortunately, it falls under this:- Feng Shui Triage

These are some of the considerations: 1. From both Shapes and Forms Feng Shui as well as the Eight House Concept; 2. Since you mentioned that your husband is a west group person, the "better" bed-head position is as per attachment. 2.1. In my opinion, this is a better bed-head position given that it is closer to NW as opposed to your earlier attachment where the entire bed is at or between 0/360 degrees North. 2.2. In addition, he sleeps closer to the position as marked in PURPLE. 3. However, please note that one should also consider things like the Flying Star chart or rather plot a flying star chart to determine what are the Flying Stars.

One can also use a simple tool like buying a 360 degrees protractor. Here, one can manipulate a copy of the layout plan and forgo the use of any computers (if any). Just need a protractor, a pencil and perhaps an eraser. (The low tech way)

These are some considerations: 1. Often once we had purchased a home; even if the bedroom is a bad sector for one of the spouse or both; there is really not much choice, here. 2. Especially for a married couple, and if the bedroom is the master bedroom, it is not like one can easily change bedrooms. 3. This is how one can fine tune (if possible):- http://wiki.geomancy.net/wiki/Master_Bedroom:_Which_side_must_I_sleep_on You wrote: The disaster line falls in the middle of bedroom. My husband is trying to change the job. Does this affect us? Frankly, in any field, one must do some diagnotics. Therefore, to say whether it does affect you or not has to be based a holistic approach. And the science of FengShuiis also based on:- Feng Shui Triage Fix-the-Leak, First!

Missing elements bazi: Some say that in case of missing (no affinity to certain) elements, one should consider strengthening one of the element in my bazi (yong shen = earth) instead of the favorable element. Is this true?
Cecil Lee posted a topic in Ba Zi Feng Shui / 4 Pillars of Destiny / Life Reading
A proper ba zi report will have a breakdown of that individual's Percentage of Five Elements throughout his life. For a Chinese, with a new born. Often a parent or grandparent may go to a geomancer. A geomancer would work out that new born's Mandarin (Chinese) name based on this overall chart. Please see attachment. Every ten year's often the Five element's percentage may change. For example, when the child is 13 to 22 years old, his percentages may change. One of the key uses is to look at any health concerns. For example: Fire represents: heart and brain. Thus, when this child is 13 to 22 years old, there is a high of fire element at 43 percent. (When born only 27 percent). Thus for this person, at this age may have to be careful of health concerns relating especially to the heart and brain area. Therefore, if you say you have no metal and water; I assume that you refer to the attached chart to deduce that you may perhaps have 0 percent metal and water. But as mentioned, every 10 years, this may change. Again in the above example, at age 13 to 22, this person lacks or have minimal Metal element 2 percent and Wood only 7 percent. While perhaps it is true that his overall chart (when born or overall chart) has 0 percent of earth. But at age 13 to 22, he has sufficient earth. Thus based on your question, it is not true that one should automatically strengthen with earth for every situation. -
Feng Shui has two SECRET weapons: 1. In the name of Feng Shui products: Fake Feng Shui. 2. Birds & the bees 2.1 An environment that can encourage birds into the environment is often the 2nd secret weapon of Feng Shui. It only benefits unscrupulous Geomancers. 2.2 Thus ifa hope is opened to preserved land or nature park; this is actually a plus point! 3. Only concern is if the land is barren of trees; then a home may get the full force of "violent wind". As trees do help to reduce turbulent wind force. 4. Other than that, common sense. Hopefully, the home is or will not be affected by an uncontrolled fire if it does occur in the nature park. 5. In addition, lets hope no snakes or any such things come into the compound or home. 6. Otherwise, depending on the park or nature trail; some even say that it could be a million dollar or (1/2 a million dollar view).... 7. If there are lots of wild birds visiting... this is the secret weapon I talk about.

In my opinion, no country is immune from having people who fall thru the gaps of social support. Singapore prides itself in being seen as a country without destitutes? Some even say that Singapore is now in a situation of Social Recession. Photo taken at Bedok Central (outside KFC) at around 6.20am.......

Imagine, for people like me, I have to get one of these:- http://www.diginexx.com/DIGINEXX/montague.html As it offers same ride height as regular bikes and yet can be folded in my car. In your case, should you purchase one of these homes; wow! You can purchase just any mountain or hardtail bikes and they don't need to fold.

Request: Info on Placement of Wish TurtleDea
Cecil Lee posted a topic in Feng Shui Tips & Guidelines
I am truly afraid, what you mentioned, belong to this special class of Fung Sway:- Fake Feng Shui 1. Fake Feng Shui web sites features and sells commercial products in the name of Feng Shui. 2. "Many people always asks this question: Where is my Cai Wei (Wealth Sector)." Why disappointment them! "Tell them what they want to HEAR! Then SELL IT TO THEM!" The only wish that came true is that of the seller of your product. "Your loss, their gain"... -
Dear Child, Please don't put the blame on both your dad and me! If you want to blame someone, please blame the Geomancer! As the Geomancer claims that your dad being a sole breadwinner must live in a west group facing home. And that from now to 2023, the top choice of homes are those facing SW! Like you, child, both of us parents also have to live with such a hot house! If it is bad enough to place our laptops on our laps, the hot house makes us "BARREN". The good news is that you can continue to be the King of the house as our only child! GOOD RIGHT?

These are some considerations: 1. Stacks closer to the Punngol Way such as #45 have to bear with road noise especially those around ground to seven storeys. 2. Many of the units are SW, but further away from the main road. Are suppose to have good Feng Shui. 3. But in practise, may of my clients decided that practically all the SW facing stacks will get complimentary afternoon sun at the frontage. 4. In my opinon, based on Shapes and Forms Feng Shui, naturally, the blocks that are furthest apart from the neighbours are the better choice. Thus in general Stacks #22 and #23 in lieu of Para 3, are better stacks. While stack #21 and #24 must be studied closer and be careful of either missing corners at NW or kitchen. 5. Some stacks have to be careful of neighbouring block's pointed corner aimed at it. In lieu of this, stacks such as #11 may be considered (in a stay in senario). 6. A few of my clients after discussion with me, have already chosen specific stacks. 7. Other considerations include the barbeque pits marked as "9" in red. And at low floors, and if there are frequent use of such pits... hmmm....

How is floor tiles associated with a Sha Qi?

How is floor tiles associated with a Sha Qi?
Cecil Lee posted a topic in Feng Shui Tips & Guidelines
We all know that a lamp post can be considered as a Sha Qi or poison arrow. But, what do you mean when you say that the floor tiles may beASSOCIATED or LINKED to or some CO-RELATION with such a poison arrow? What do you think? -
The actor: A car. Common sense says that a car can't fly unless it hits a ram. In this illustration, even if one stays at 3rd, 4th or 5th floor or even 40th floor and directly peer downwards, can see a straight road "coming towards the stack". The direct impact if any of a straight car is at most 1st storey or if it does fly it flies up to no more than 2nd storey. As to whether the entire stack may collapse after the car plough into the 1st storey home (apartment) is another story, here.

1. Please see this illustration of someone else's chart relating to name selection:- Your Five Element Breakdown 3 Strongest Water 3 Strong Wood 3 Extremely Weak Fire 2 Weakest Earth 1 Weak Metal 40% 32% 8% 10% 8% This tells me that you are a Weak Fire because of too little Fire (8%). Your element is born in a season which is makes Fire Element Extremely Weak. Thus, influencing the element strength of the other five element elements. The percentage of each element is considered after considering the seasonal strength and the number of that element present. Thus, your favourable elements are Wood (32%) and Fire (8%) Elements. Metal (8%) is your wealth element. However, as you are a Weak Fire, you first need to be stronger in order to control your wealth element. Based on the percentage of the Five Element of each of your favourable element. You should attempt to enhance the favourable element with least percentage, followed by the favourable element with the next lowest percentage. As Weak Fire, your favourable elements are Wood (32%) / Fire (8%) . Fire (8%) is your most favourable element. Wood (32%) is your next most favourable element. As you have a lot of Wood, having more won't benefit you any more. Your unfavourable elements are Water (40%) / Earth (10%) / Metal (8%). Water (40%) is your most unfavourable element. As you have too much of Water, it is best to avoid it having too much more. Earth (10%) is your next unfavourable element. Metal (8%) is your least unfavourable element. The ideal balance of each element is generally 20% of each element. However, it is difficult to achieve exactly 20% of each element. This is because it is difficult to know exactly how much of each element you have at any point in time. So as long as you have more of your favourable elements, you will improve your balance and harmony. 2. For us Chinese, often when we were born; our parents or grand parents would consult a geomancer to help select a good Mandarin name based on SAMPLE above. 3. And there are alot of rulesets in name selection. 4. For example, Traditional BIG FIVE is used to count the strokes. One of the countries that still use the traditional long form is Taiwan. 5. In this example, the person lacks fire and or metal. And has too much water element. Thus, often, to compensate for this the Mandarin characters often have fire and or metal in it and avoiding water element in the name. 6. Thus, in this example, since this person lacks FIRE element; then could perhaps choose a name that has FIRE in it... I am not into the details thus, perhaps this person's Christian name could be Rose, rose, I love you = Rose or something like that. And in the mandarin character, it represents fire for that person. 7. As there is no precedence in selection of a Christian name, other than making sure that your mandarin names are OK; if you want to consider chosing a name based on your so called "lucky element"; No one can say for sure that you are wrong or absolutely 100 percent right. 8. It is also the reverse. For example, there are many Chinese I know, who found out that their Chinese name characters are not the best names. But they continue to be called: Suzie. Thus even if one changes name but everyone still calls her Suzie, does not help. Of course, some say to wear a tag with their "newly acquired" mandarin name. 9. Again, this is all a modern interpetation. There are no absolutely correct or wrong answers. It's your call. Most importantly, human factor or always feeling good about itis another important consideration. 10. Recently, I went to view a new project. And this agent said her Christian name is OXY. And she said that it is derived from her Chinese Name Initials e.g. Ong Xi Yin or something like. In Mandarin, Oxy would have to be based on sound like ...... 11. As I mentioned, do what pleases you on the long term... as there is no perfect precedence if any in this area...
