These are some of the considerations:- 1. Firstly, thanks for the sketch. 2. The bad news is the sketch is so general that I can only provide some guideline:- 2.1 Yoursketch seemsquite close to this article's information:- http://forum.geomancy.net/phpforum/article.php?bid=2&fid=1&mid=26501&new= 2.2 More info.... http://forum.geomancy.net/phpforum/article.php?bid=2&fid=1&mid=16667&new= 3. Frankly, there are other factors:- 3.1. Which country is it? Vehicles (Cars) = Right-hand drive or Left-hand drive 3.2. How far is the home is to the road. 3.3. Things like boundary: type of fencing or brick wall / gate? 4. Commonsense:- One got to use commonsense + some practical imagination and ask a question: WHAT HAPPENS if a runaway car PLOUGHS into the home? Sort of question..... Please read the above links. I believe the above links have enough resources.... Is this house good or bad fengshui? The house number is 324. It's on an outside corner lot. Please see image illustration here: 324 House*** One side of the road is a dead end, the other side leads to a main road. You can see the 324 house on the opposite side of the dead end road, but you cannot see the 324 house from the opposite side of the road lead the main road.

These are some considerations:- 1. You said: " I am a bit confused as my front door faces South West and according to some Feng Shui literature I am reading the front door is always considered as North." 1.1. No, I believe such literature belongs to the "Hocus Pocus" type of dubious Fung Sway and not real Feng Shui sites. 1.2. If I were you, I avoid such sites like the "plaque" or H1N1 or even A.I.D.s .. sort of thing. 2. Traditional Feng Shui uses two major schools: 2.1. Shapes and Forms Feng Shui 2.2. Compass School: Eight House (4 Good/Bad) and Flying Star Feng Shui 3. Thus as the name "Compass School" suggests; one requires to use a REAL compass. 3.1. So how can all main doors face NORTH right? If one uses a REAL compass; compass direction varies with the compass needle when taking a reading. 3.2. As a guideline when taking a compass reading; one has to be careful of not having the reading(s) affected by the re-inforced steel bars found in the columns or floors of homes or offices as it may often affect the compass reading. http://forum.geomancy.net/phpforum/article.php?bid=2&fid=6&mid=27497&new=%3EHouse%20Hunting%20:%20A%20Lot%20Position%20-%20%3Cem%3EFeng%20Shui%3C/em 3.3 Another guidline is often the use of a protactor, a streetdirectory map. See attachment.

Yes, in layman terms; center-of-gravity and centerpoint or if you want to call it "Center of area" is similar. Usually, center-of-gravity is more specific to a person, photocopy a layout; paste it on a cardboard; cut-out the outline and balance this item on a pin to locate the center-of-gravity. While drawing a centerpoint is just that : looking at an image and trying to figure out where the centrepoint is. Center = American Centre = British

The first picture looks orange colour. If it is ORANGE colour; then I must qualify; for the Chinese, we consider orange colour as = gold. As mentioned many past forum messages; Hokkiens = Orange = Kim or Gold; Cantonese = Orange = Kum which is also refers to gold. And during the 15th days of Chinese New Year, exchanging a pair of oranges = gold. Frankly, I don't know what other races or religion consider orange = if they ever consider it in this way. Thus politically speaking I am Chinese so if you ask me; I second the above!

Is it possible to get electricuted while taking an authentic Finnish sauna bath? Yes, if you read the fine prints ... pasted by the management of Hillbrooks condo, Hillview avenue...

You wrote: "We have decided to sell this house and go to a new house, due to the above issues and my son has no friends in the current location.what do you suggest? Do you suggest me to sell this house and go to some other house ?" We have to be equally logical about it. The rationale is because, there is no other alternative home to compare with. If the new home turns out well; then it is good. But, what happens if the new (be it new or resale) home has "equal" or worst issues than this? Thus, as it is; this is no other comparison between your existing home vs some other home(s).
-
For such an important decision; it is best not to rely soley onjust the interior or "2D layout plan". I often always mention: "Even, if a home is say "perfect"within the four walls but when one steps out of the home; it is like the dumps.. or otherissues relating to Shapes and Forms Feng Shui..Evenif we pathe the home with gold; also no use..."
-
Further to what I had mentioned:- 1. Most consensus (amongst) geomancers is to locate the most "yang" (bright) qi area of the home. Where e.g. it could be the most openings be it the windows or balcony doors. 2. For high floors (storeys);IN GENERAL themost likely facing direction is the "stack"where the unit (especially the living room balcony faces); Especially if one does not often open the main entrance door. And in many instances; many condos- during daylight withoutthe aid of lighting is often quite "dim". 3. Therefore, it does not matter if you have a penthouse or not. Just imagine; a landed property. I am sure, (else my head gets the chopping); there are defiinitely landed properties with two stories; some even have three stories and some even four storey high with a "penthouse" time of open terrace roofing. 4. Just imagine, how nice if the potential penthouse of your is located at the ground floor. With some imagination; youdrive up to the"frontage" (usually the stack) of the home. Isn't this similar to a"landed property?". It is the same thing... Xuan KongFeng Shui (Compass School) can apply anywhere on the earth other than exactly at the "pole" North or South pole.....

>Does it matter the exact location for the pond/water fountain in SW (SW1?? or SW2/3??)...exact degree location for the pond/water fountain?? Usually, it is best to draw-up a 20-Year Flying Star chart and analyse the mountain and water stars at that sector IN addition with the overall Shapes and Forms Feng Shui. Thus, if these two considerations are met:- 1. The SW sector is often an open space especially at the frontage of the home; then it is considered a "promising" candidate. But subject to the use of the 20-Year Flying Star chart of that sector. 2. It would even be more excellent if that sector has says a #8 water star or even a #1 water star at that sector. 3. You cannot just simply "plug my previous" statement out of the air and assume that all SW sectors automatically is the place to activate the water feature. 4. In addition, it is good to have an idea of what is the annual Flying Star at that sector. Thus, if you are new or intent to place a water feature, but for that year the dreaded #3 = quarrels, conflicts and lawsuits falls at SW; then it is best to avoid the placement : especially if one does not know how to "activate" all five elements in a water feature. Reference: http://fountain.geomancy.net (under Para 2.1. to 2.12). 5. Sorry, usually, I just skim the surface of messages loaded with lots of text and no or zero sketches or photos... 6. Other considerations:- 6.1. Kua number(s) especially if one is trying to activate something say outside the home has no relevance to it. Thus one can have kua number 1 or 2 or 3 or 4 or 5... 6.2 Yes, every Flying star sector has it's own ruleset of how best water should drain out of the home. This is not within the scope of this general free advice forum. This is about water dragon classics. And no direct relation to whether you want to place a water feature at SW sector. 6.3 If you see many of the pie chart drawn by geomancers; we use the "eye-ball" method to determine whether it is appropriate for a water feature. Tell, me how many geomancers can even let you know at e.g. 212.3 degrees! Unless one is a surveyor; with the most modern tools; then you are assured that 212.3 degrees (from the center of gravity) of your home: is correct. 6.3.1 If one really practice or try to practise: the exact compass direction: in Hokkien; we call such people: "see bey kia-su or kia-see" = (scared to die).. 6.4 In the first place: G.I.G.O. (garbage-in; garbage-out) applies. More importantly, or fundamentally, the compass directions should be "spot-on". Thus, what is the use of getting the compass direction wrong in the first place and one thinks that the sector is SW but maybe in actual fact it could be South sector? 6.5 Thus, under the G.I.G.O concept; if you get the center of gravity or centrepoint (centerpoint) of your home wrong, so does you may end up with so called wrong degrees.

These are some of the considerations:- 1. The concept of : "If it ain't broken, don't fix-it!". 1.1. The idea is that if one generally doing fine; and has been staying in an existing home; and only due to one's itchy fingers; got advise to move the bed; 1.2. If so, leave it as it is. 2. Sleeping under the "coffin" position concept. 2.1. Please see attachment: coffin position.gif (Illustration of a typical "coffin position") 3.Frankly, I often just scan thru lots of text like yours - (faintest) idea about your bedroom arrangement. (I prefer a sketch). 4. Concept of "auto-suggestion" and ....hmmm... self-fullfilling prophecy... 4.1. Often it takes someone else to make a comment: be it the in-laws or other close relatives to make one really uneasy over a certain layout or placement. For example, if the in-laws again comment on the bedroom and says that "you have mirror on the wardrope door is no bloody.. good.." then one feels unease and uncomfortable over it. 5. Shapes and Forms Feng Shui 5.1. Shapes and Forms prevail over the use of KUA NUMBER especially if one tries to fit a "square peg intoa round hole" - sort of thing! 5.2. Thus, many of us, often instinctively, would already have an idea of how we would have an idea of how to place our bed in a bedroom. 6. "You live, here; we don't" 6.1. The major crime of most geomancers are: that they often spent an hour or two at your home. And without much consideration; some geomancers (unfortunately) give advice; that will impact on our lives! 6.2. There were geomancers who had even asked the owners not to use e.g. the master toilet totally! Come on! Even if the owner(s) become eunuchs; don't you think that eunuchs like everyone else; also need to go to the bathroom?

These are some of the considerations:- 1) I intended to buy a EC Penthouse. As it has 2 storey, does the theory of Xuan Kong Flying star works for that? Since it had overlapping of some area with the open terrace, how can we analysis in this case? 1.1Yes, Xuan Kong Flying star applies anywhere except one major condition: magnetic compass. 1.1 In addition; so long as the current compass points correctly: North= north and South=south; As there were instances that the earth's magnetic direction has changed.. but this could be in the region of 100,000 years or so... 1.2 Anyway, look at it this way; when the molten core of our earth stops spinning; and when the sun dies out in a few billion years; then; Yes, under such a situation; the theory of Xuan Kong Flying star does not apply. So does the human race... for those unfortunate people "trapped" on this earth... 2) I intend to take up your online course on XKFS, can i know in more detail how is the course taken? Will we be having hardcopy of notes or softcopy? Any interaction? How will it be done? 2.1. This is an on-line course. Where you can download all your materials (if you want to). Any questions; feel free to post it to my support e-mail : support@geomancy.net You have to sign up for the course and the instructions provided to you. If you need further info; you can call up our hot-line: 065-6100-9608 on it.

Further to what I had mentioned; the key thing is (within one's control) AVOID: any disturbance at East is the safest bet to ride over the "EAST sector during 2011". Thus norenovations: including drilling, hacking ofwalls andre-painting at East.

1. If you are a west person, when sleeping, general, head should be pointed: West, NW, NE or SW. 2. For study, please note your FACE, should face your best direction, which is e.g. NE. 3. Thus one should be aware that both are TWO different activities. For example try sleeping to study. But, unfortunately it cannot be said that someone may fall asleep while they study. For such a person, I feel that even if they face their good direction, is but a waste of time.

I hope I get it right. You mean that your kitchen is at the center of the NW cardinal point of the magnetic compass and not that your kitchen lies in the middle of the home. Frankly, not everyone, but rather for some; having the stove at say directly at NW cardinal compass sector plus facing south (fire) may be like adding salt to one's wounds. Here, the application of water and earth is often one of the solutions: e.g. placing a 1.5 litre bottle of "drinking" water close-by. And place pottery or glass material in cabinets close-by. Avoid appliances that have a heating filament.. that glows when used e.g. a toaster oven, nearby. As a last resort; but this has to be looked at properly the use of "induction" type of stove. Best that for ordinary stoves, say close to the NW cardinal point, often even number of hobs e.g. 2, 4 (Yin) vs odd number 1, 3 numbers of hobs (yang) is preferred..

The wooden wind chime is not a proven "weapon" in the Feng Shui arsenal. The rational is that the chime is not as effective as the chime of a metal wind chiime. Please note that one school of thought says that one should not disturb Tai Sui. Thus, in fact, do bear in mind that the constant chiming of a wind chime be it a wooden or metallic one... hopefully; does not drive Tai Sui to madness! Do think about it. If wood is what you want; plants or or "trees" are a better solution than a wooden wind chime. Even if a wooden wind chime is used; avoid those awful colourful ones...

Based purely on Shapes and Forms Feng Shui, it is highly unusual " frontage". For example, most homes has an inverted "V" shape. And with the profile forms an "UP" arrow sign. First impressions count. The interior is another matter all together.

Frankly, even if one is a rat, a dog, a snake, a rooster, oops! a duck! or a chicken; there is no link between a fish tank and a Horse. The only link is that a rat's worst pairing is a Horse: http://www.lovesigns.net/horoscope/areference/craho.htm You may have to apply other Feng Shui techniques or if Feng Shui techniques are too far off; then, go by the gut or feel (feelings).

These are some of the considerations:- 1. "It depends!" 2. There is the 20 Year Flying Star Feng Shui. Flying Star is about determining where is the facing and sitting directions. Thus, one should get this right, first. 3. In a 20 Year Flying Star Feng Shui; for example from now to 2023; the reigning star is #8. Thus, under the 20 Year Flying Star, in particular; if the water wealth (Water star #8) is located at the balcony (balcony is at the SW); One should not shut off the water supply or relocate this water feature, just because say the year water star is somewhere else. 4. Under the Five Elements concept: a good water feature has all the five elements: http://fountain.geomancy.net Para 2.1. to 2.12 5. If so, fear not whatever stars fly in to that sector. 6.Of course;for example, if one has never a water position and "suddenly" one wakes up and realises that the water wealth is at the balcony for the year;maybe go ahead and place a water feature for that year; there. 7. Do you know that the FlyingStar Feng Shui is based on time dimension; and for the flying star(s) it can range from 20 Year, 10Year, 5 Year, 1 Year, 1 month, 1 day, 1 hour, 10 minutes, 1 minute, 1 second etc... 8. So just think about! Commonsense dictates or cow-sense? 9. Cow-sensemeans that one should literally place one's say a water feature on wheels. And if one is too "bloody" free or nothing else better to do, then roll that water feature, every minute of the day. How many fools does this? Unfortunately, there should be none; else these people are truly British term: "bloody fools". 10. if the auspicious water position e.g. #8 is in the master bedroom; do you think that it is an excellent or stupid idea to place one there?
-
These are some of the considerations:- 1. Using what I called the "eye-ball" method. 2. Your layout plan is so faint, that although I did not faint, but for convenience, I did a quick scan; and then "fuzzy" or just did not re-look anymore at the ground floor. 3. The 2nd floor, seems promising.... so, used the eye-ball to figure out roughly the centrepoint of the 2nd storey. By right, the centrepoint or center of gravity should be the same. 4. If you checked out other previous forum message; if one is not sure, then copy the profile and cut-out and paste on a cardboard, and try to balance it on a nail ... while writing this, hmm...just "don't include the non-living areas like porch etc.. 5. Please note that your other questions are beyond this free advice. Frankly, it sounds so simple to ask a question e.g. paintings, water fountain and aquarium. Have you seen how a duck swims on water? 6. It looks so easy .. presto .. an answer appears.. but what lies below when a duck paddles is lots of (unseen hardwork!). Hey! This is a free advice and not a I do it for you. Imagine, if I do it fore every one.. even if there are 24 hours.. no use! You might as well buy a Singapore brand watch known as 25 hours time.. I am serious!

These are some of the considerations:- 1. The most important consideration is where does the true cardinal point of NW? In this example the true cardinal point is at purple marking "A". 2. While again in this example, the range of NW covers until the dotted line at purple marking "B". 3. Thus, the key consideration; is not just reading a few paragraphs and by default; it has to be this or that. 4. In this example, the NW is also close to the main entrance door area. So, for this attachment (I have blanked out many details) instead of placing "items" or colours; for this year, this owner simply when at home or after a rain; opens the main door to let good qi follow in. 5. And since the dotted line (marking in purple) shows the furthest perimeter of the NW; it is not a big issue since majority of NW (where the yearly star #8) is at. So, what better to let good qi in for this year? 6. Therefore, one cannot simply cast a sector in stone. 7. This reminds me of a few years ago. This fella, I really forgot his name; go around at static resources and then label those geomancers views on facing direction based on sometimes what we write in the forum. 8. Thus, he would say that Geomancy.net.... da da da di di di... analyse (Flying Star) frontage based on such and such a method. But not realising that it is not correct to 'cast every geomancer" in stone - as I believe most geomancers would vary their analysis or rationale for why they chose a certain "facing" direction. 9. Therefore, if someone else in the future, want to do such a "chart"'; try to do justice to each geomancer.. and not typeface all of us..into a certain "slot".

Please spare the torture of an old man like me; try to make an effort to scan properly or use your paint program. Many paint programs have the brightness / contrast and/or gamma correction.... And if one scans are slanted, can't you re-adjust it or again use any paint program to correct the "rotation"..... If I can recall; throughout the existence of this forum... I had never seen so blur an image.....so please, next time, please spare a thought for again: I must emphasise an old man; wearing long-sighted progressive lens... It is going to make my degrees higher into the long-sighted range...

And this ain't the ghost busters! Yesterday, I was taking a usual stroll, minding my own business... until I pounced upon a home with such a signage. After my near-by visit to a client, I walked passed the fence! And really, a midsized dog, ran towards the gate.. (a real gate keeper) barking and he or she jumped on the fence and wanted to make minced meat out of me! Believe me! This sign is FOR REAL!
