  1. Don't worry, no harm done. Thanks for your kind understanding Just that in the past, that of all the website you had extracted the image; that specific website used to be quick on the draw and I understand had used lawyers to sue quite alot of people who simply used their map to guide potiential clients to their location. This is the main reason why, I never like using "streetdirectory.com" map as an educational tool in-case one inadvertently forgot to give them a credit despite such things as "Fair usage" concept.
  2. Attached is one of the sample layout plans for Blk 7 Tower 2 Seasons View #xx-05. In my opinion; for those who are aware of this forum; I have never ask any users here to do this for many other developments. But, in my opinion; for those who intend to buy a resale unit in this development MAY/ SHOULD / MIGHT want to seriously get some professional help to BE SAFE to check the "cleanliness" of the unit. That's all I have to say. P.S. Cleanliness as related to the "spirtual kind"
  3. Singapore's last few new towns: Sengkang West (used to be Seletar Farmway area). In the 1980's I remembered driving down towards Sembawang: 1980, 1981, 1982 onwards until 1986. I had to drive through a new town at that time called "Yishun New Town". Today, there are not many new towns left in Singapore due to scarcity of land. Thus one of the last two major new towns: Punggol and Sengkang West Way (other than reclaim land); Singapore seems to be running out of such virgin land. These photos taken ofseveral acresof what used to be forests area in Sengkang West (formerly Seletar farmway where pig farms were aplenty during the 1950's to even 1980's. It is a true reminder for me of how Yishun New Town came about. Today, Yishun is considered as a Matured Estate. No longer called "New" Town. With these photos; I hope to capture partks of Sengkang West bordering Punggol before they are built up. I hope these photos will be valuable insights, 30, 50 or even 100 years from now!
  4. Does this only apply to Singapore? Urinating in lifts can bring grief - to the offender! In Singapore, this is a fine of up to $1,000.00 Many Singapore public housing lifts even has this warning etched on the lift wall " URINE DETECTION " or " Camera-Ready" (As the word camera-ready just means it! No camera installed, yet!" Oh! I forgot! SINGAPORE IS ALSO FAMOUSLY KNOWN AS A "FINE CITY". And for tourists coming to Singapore, it is certainly worth buying a "tourist" T-Shirt with such a "name!" Do get such a t-shirt; in Silly Singapore!
  5. 1. Further to what I had mentioned; hope I get what you said correclty. As so far, in the life of this forum and in my life-time; have yet to come across your earlier question. 2. Please see illustration. 3. Assuming that if we take a compass reading from A to B and this equals to 0 degrees = pure North cardinal point. 4. Then even if we take a reading say from C to D; E to F; G to H; tell me what is the reading? Is it the same reading as A to B = 0 degrees?
  6. 1. In general, it is based on the Dragon Water Classics. 2. Note: nowadays, roads are equivalent of "water courses". 3. Attached is an illustration (BOTTOM of the attachment) showing how a "Jade Belt" looks like and a home at the "belly" of the Jade Belt symbolises a prosperous looking belly. 4. The key ingredient is a home facing this Jade Belt to have the best effect. Contrast this with the TOP illustration where instead it is surrounded by an extension or an "X".
  7. Thanks for the information. Since the plot is relatively large in relation to the home; and as you had mentioned that there is no poison arrow; generally, all sounds good In addition; have also mentioned in the first posting that the plot is acceptable given that it is a corner plot.
  8. These are some of the many links that give examples of how one can use streetdirectory plans be it on the web or even paper streetdirectories or google maps. All satellite maps taken also by international convention has the North marking on the TOP page. A simple search like " confirm layout to siteplan " shows some of the sample links:- http://forum.geomancy.net/phpforum/article.php?bid=2&fid=6&mid=27494&new= http://forum.geomancy.net/phpforum/article.php?bid=2&fid=6&mid=28372&new=
  9. You wrote in red: 2a. Should I mark a 'X' cross on the floor plan stand at the intersection point of the two lines and start measuring the facing direction of my apartment. Is this the correct way of doing (as shown in the picture below)? 2b.OR should I take down the full length of my window and divide them by 2, stand at that point and measure the facing direction (as shown in the picture below)? 3. Just curious, the two purple markings of A - B which you have indicated at the living room and master bedroom of the floor plan so does it mean that If I bring out my compass to measure will both the readings still be in "S2"? A. As mentioned previously, just stand at Marking in PURPLE A looking out towards B. Even if it is in the living room or master bedroom standing at A looking out at the same line B; what is the difference? It is still the same? Frankly, it ain't rocket science for sure. B. One commonsense approach to taking a compass reading; in-fact; one does not even need a compass at all. Go study the attachments. Clue: all streetdirectory and google maps - TOP page is 0 degrees and bottom is South 180 degrees. Go think about it how it can help. C. For example: SITEMAP SAMPLE1 shows a block of flat. And with some imagination; of say the unit; one can even get the correct compass reading off this map. Sitemap Sample2 is about a industry building Zervex. You wrote : 4. You mentioned that "In a landed property; often even if we say have a home that is facing South (S2) and even if we do tilt the main door to face South-west; this is considered temporary as it will ultimately revert back to South (S2). What do you mean by 'temporary'? Could you advise. (Just to learn something more!) Please do a search in the forum; there are already lots of information on this.
  10. You wrote: 1. You mentioned that my apartment is facing S2. No offence, just curious about how do you actually determine that it is facing S2 but not S1 by just looking at the floor plan layout below? You wrote: 2. Could further elaborate on that? I'm not a good compass user and in order for me to measure my floor plan and to determine the location. Please see attachment. You indicated on the layout plan the Compass Marking. Internationally, the arrow-head points to the North or 0 degrees. Thus, based on the layout plan; the opposite site is 180 degrees or South 2 (S2) facing direction. If one adds such a marking and did not state clearly that this is only a rough guideline; then you only know best. Therefore my reply is based on the adage: "Garbage in; garbage out...". Do check out your attachment with the compass marking on it.
  11. In my opinion: 1. The photo is very fuzzy or blur. 2. There seems to be service roads on three sides of the property: NW, NE and SE. 3. From the blur photo; it seems that the plot is pretty large or the built up area is small as compared to the huge plot. And this is often an advantage even if the main door @SE faces the neighbour's home. 4. What is more concern is whether there are drains running on the NE side and/or SE side and/or NW side. And even how the rainfall drains out of the property is critical. 5. Frankly, a home at the corner often be larger than the rest and may have less then rectangular plot but this does not detract or make it fatally inauspicious. 6. Since the photo is blur to fuzzy; then if you need to check any threats to the main entrace or to any of the windows; then stand inside the opening looking outwards for any threats. See attachment. 6.1. Such threats are often easily corrected; again if the plot is land is large and there seems to be a large garden surronding the home.
  12. These are some of the considerations: 1. Based on the concept of the "most yang" qi; in my opinion; the facing direction should be standing at A looking out towards B. Here, even if we stand inside the living room or master bedroom looking out towards the window; the most probable facing direction is SOUTH. 2. In theory "light travels" in a straight line. Here, in the very broad sense; even if there is a large opening at "South-West" It does not mean that one should tilt the facing direction towards South-West. One of the reasons is that the facade where the most windows are (or = most yang qi) is still based on purple marking A looking out towards B. 3. From the two conflicting schools of thought; thus your facing direction can only be either/or:- 3.1. Standing at purple marking A looking out towards B = South facing or S2 facing direction. 3.2. From those very conservative or not too family with high rise Geomancer; they will always "quote" ancient Feng Shui books or concepts that say: one must stand inside the main door (Marking C) looking outwards D. 4. In my opinion; thus it is high chance that your apartment's facing direction is Flying Star South = S2 facing direction. This also follows the facade of the building. 5. In a landed property; often even if we say have a home that is facing South (S2) and even if we do tilt the main door to face South-west; this is considered temporary as it will ultimately revert back to South (S2).
  13. In my opinion, this seems unusual; if it occurs only in the night; most likely they are searching for food. Make sure that all your food especially fruits are out of their reach. If one has an altar full of fruits, then do look out or as you have done close all openings, 6/3/2011 7:04:56 AM, JasonQuek wrote:
  14. I find this article a great life learning experience! In accounting; this is called "zero base accounting" i.e. starting from scratch! This article is indeed a good guideline to life learning! Source: The Straits Times, 1 June 2011:- Pay for towels at this hotel: TUNE (Chain of) Hotels Tune Hotels has adopted a budge airline approach where guests pay extra for extras. "When we first started, people thought we were joking," said Mr Lankester, a former entertainment industry executive. "But we're not hoteliers, so we were prepared to try."

  16. 1. Look at it this way: all of us one day will perish: "ashes to ashes; dusts to dusts". 2. Thus in general; the majority of has to one day die of old age. If so, there ain't no worries about things that a "dead" persons; furthermore; one's own flesh and blood living us things. 3. Of course, there are many instances for some; a loved one dying of old age in a home. And looking at it: left the home to their loved ones.. 4. For natural dead; and later cremation; cremation is neutral. And like many of us; do keep our late father's funeral photo (frame). Here, we keep it with respect in a proper cupboard and not "chuck" it away. 5. Besides this; the other factor is based on "psychology". 5.1 Some of us don't feel comfortable looking at items that belong to the "late" loved ones.. as it may remind the person of their "late" father. This is natural especially if the person has died very recently. 5.2 Some even have this "phobia" for many years. Thus, you; yourself have to be your own judge. And decide what is best for YOU: be it keeping one or more of the items or completely remove (them) from your home. It is your own calling. 6. As I said; there is nothing bad or harmful in keeping such things. Many a-times; it is in our minds. Again, you have to discuss with your immediate family (or if you are the boss of the home); do what you feel is right at this time. 7. I believe; there are (or may be some) who throw or give away some or all these items and later do regret not keeping some of the momentos......
  17. In general, other than "missing" windows in the sketch; the layout plan seems reasonable. Except for comments in the attachment.
  18. Raffles Place in the 1960's. In the 1960's a 1 level basement car-park was built underground below the square. The photo also shows the tallest building in South-East Asia in the 1930's. Another prominent building: the Merchantile Bank building that replaced the Union Bank building. Today, this Merchantile Bank building had been torn down.
  19. You wrote: "1. Can you tell me what it means from a feng shui apartment to have this type of floor plan, ie why we should close the bathroom door and what would happen if you don't. I'm concerned, but I don't want to be paranoid." There are two main considerations: 1. Commonsense Feng Shui & First Impressions 1.1. When it comes to first impressions, it’s practical to ensure that visually unappealing features aren’t immediately visible upon entering your home. For example, if the toilet door is left open and someone steps in, their first sight may be the wash basin or even a mirror, which can give an undesirable initial feel. 1.2. Similarly, placing a dining table too close to the main entrance can sometimes lead visitors to see a cluttered or messy space right away. These examples show that “first impressions count,” and are less about strict Feng Shui rules and more about common sense. 1.3. Another common concern is having a mirror facing the main door. Some people find it unsettling to see a reflection or a sudden movement as soon as they enter. This, again, is as much about practical comfort as it is about Feng Shui. Many of these concerns are more about our instinct for neatness and comfort rather than rigid superstition. Unless it genuinely causes discomfort or anxiety, there’s little to worry about. --- 2. Bathroom in the Center of the Home You mentioned concerns about having a bathroom in the middle of the house. Based on a visual assessment, it does seem that in this layout, the toilet is indeed at the central point of the home. If relocating it isn’t possible, the practical solution is simple: keep the toilet door closed when not in use. This minimizes any negative visual or energetic impact, aligning with both Feng Shui and good housekeeping. As a humorous touch, you could even place a small table with a coin box at the entrance and a note reading, “10 cents to enter toilet” – just for a bit of fun! --- Summary: In essence, many so-called “Feng Shui” concerns are actually about sensible, pleasant design and common courtesy. Maintaining a tidy entrance, keeping doors to less appealing areas closed, and arranging mirrors thoughtfully all contribute to a better living environment. If you address things from this practical angle, you’ll naturally create a space that feels good both energetically and visually.
  20. These are some considerations: 1. Please refer to attachment. 2. If based on the Original or existing layout plan; then close the toilet door when not in use. 3. You can refer to Options A orB as possible viable alternatives. (Subject to structural engineering approval or your country's building approval on such alternation(s) )
  21. 1. Many of us are led into the believe that we must classify an item into only one element else; it was felt that it will be totally wrong; if an item was classified into say: Metal-Earth element. Or rather the square peg in a round hole mentality. 2. Really, what is wrong with classifying an item into more than one element. 3. For simplicity; as you had mentioned; in GENERAL jewelry is classifed as metal element because in most instances; it is made up of some metal. For example standard wedding ring needs some metal to hold it together. Whether a gem is to be embedded or not is another story. 4. In many of the past forum messages; I had mentioned that today; an occupation can even contain several elements: 4.1. The industry one is in e.g. Banking (Metal) 4.2. And the core job one is in; say Marketing (Fire). 5. So what is wrong in saying that this person's career is: Metal-Fire combination.
  22. 1. I did a SEARCH using the TOP LEFT frame of this forum:- 2. Reference: http://forum.geomancy.net/phpforum/article.php?bid=2&fid=19&mid=3783&new= 2.1 For the Chinese, symbolism or phonetic sound of the name for bat in Mandarin is `Fu' or Luck. For this reason, the Chinese consider it lucky. 2.2 In many cases, you can see wood cravings on panels with Five bats. This symbol of five bats together signifies: health, long life, wealth, love of virtue and natural death. 3. What Does It Mean When A Bat Comes Into My House? Posted in: Discuss :: Free Advice (General Feng Shui) Posted on: Wed, 30 Dec 2009, 21:34 PM, 3.1 Reference: http://forum.geomancy.net/phpforum/article.php?bid=2&fid=1&mid=26735&new= 4. 23. Further to what I had mentioned; 1. Always remember, a plot at a T-junction is at the mercy of "Commonsense" Feng Shui. 2. The test is: "Can a run-amok vehicle be able to slam into the property?" Yes or No? If Yes, then this is most likely as illustrated in the attachment a potential plot (in this case) a home facing a T-junction. 3. The assumption is that it is not a one-way street where traffic flows away from the T-junction. It also depends on which country one is in: a Right-Hand drive or Left-Hand drive.
  24. 1. The good news is BLOCK B is not at a T-junction. 2. In this attachment; you can see that the plot = PLOT X highlighed in YELLOW with a RED border is considered at a T-junction.
  25. I must truly apologise for the info that I am going to provide, below... For those who don't have a stomach to read the message; I strongly suggest; please skip this message! ACTUNG! You have been WARNED! These are some of the considerations:- 1. Frankly, no offence ... I just glanced what you had wrote and this immediately flashes into my mind: "A little knowledge is considered a dangerous thing!". 2. OK, let's assume that in this "tiny" world of Fung Sway; and there is this person who only eats and sleeps and swear only by the Eight House... erh... good luck to you! 3. Even in the Eight House and micro-management of the Eight House concept; there is such a thing as (take this link as a sample):- http://wiki.geomancy.net/wiki/Master_Bedroom:_Which_side_must_I_sleep_on 4. Besides this; one should try to map out or perceive which bedroom could/may/should the other 6 family members (could) be "slotted" into that home. Taking note: a completed home is not a perfect home. 5. Frankly, the house number interpretation in the bigger picture of Feng Shui (not hocus pocus Fung Sway) should be given less weightage. 6. Now the head-shaking part... hmmm... 6.1. again the "something.. something.. dangerous thing comes into mind" 6.2. Higher weightage has to go to: Shapes and Forms Feng Shui. Next, even with Flying Star Feng Shui; from now to before 2023; although NW could be a suitable direction for the partner; but other than the afternoon sun consideration; SW and NE facing directions have higher ranking(s). 7. Honestly, what you had mentioned; again; no offence; is literally called "Fast Food Fung Sway"... GULP!
