  1. Further to what I mentioned earlier, this is the rationale for the reason for placing e.g. two plants on each side of the main entrance as an alternative:- You can also use the SEARCH feature in this forum and simply type in " triangle effect " to list out past forum messages on it. --- Past Reply --- Topic: What is the `Triangle Effect'? (c) Cecil Lee (3 of 6), Read 48 times Conf: Free Advice (General Topics) From: Cecil Lee Date: Sunday, March 12, 2000 08:11 PM (This message has been reproduced from an old forum message, which first appeared under the conference: Photo Tours with Interest) What happens if there is a lone tree tangent/between the main entrance door? Take a closer look at the attachment to understand another theory called The `Triangle' Effect 1. If it is a single tree in the middle (outside) the main entrance door. This causes an imbalance in Qi as the trunk of the tree slices (like a sword) into the main entrance door. Here, place two plants e.g. two potted plants on each side of the main entrance to neutarlise the tree. It also creates what is known as a `Triangle' effect. If you notice carefully, in the attached diagram, the triangle on the last diagram points away from the house. 2. If it is a lone lamp post, you can use two poles at each side of the main entrance or use two `objects' such as fu-dogs. If you do not want to spent money, you can also use relatively cheap `objects' such as two potted plants if you want here. The reason why you can use any of the objects is based on "Symbolism" to form a triangle effect. ---------- Please refer to attachment below for an illustration of the `triangle-effect'. 2. Dear Sissie, In the Traditional Feng Shui practise of the use of mirrors:- 1. If one seek consultation especially from say Western Traditional School of Feng Shui especially the majority of such schools in US or Canada, in my opinion, I believe, these practitioners would normally say that Ba Gua mirror or even mirrors are "hocus pocus." 2. Therefore, I am aware that such schools say coming from the West, do not believe in the use of Ba Gua mirror(s). Even if the practitioners are Chinese (race). 3. But the distinction here is that although they are Chinese in origin, because of their cultural association i.e. they were born entirely or most of them in the West, they would not face the same circumstances as Chinese born in cultures strongly attached to `Religion'. 4. For example, in Singapore, it is a common standard, as early as in the 40s and every subsequent decade or two; ba gua mirrors have been used in many locations: frontage of main doors of homes / offices / business. 5. It is my belief that the first major association is with the concept of the use of such ba gua mirrors especially those with either the twin door gods added to it or the face of a keiloon or cat with a sword in it's mouth. 6. Therefore, it's association with `protection' or to ward of evil is one of the major reasons for it's use. 7. I speculate that later on, since it is commonly used to ward of evil, `why' not use it to deflect sha qi or absorb it i.e. with either concave or convex mirror in it. (For more details or pictures of the type and use of the various type of Feng Shui mirror, you can either do a search for it or go to the conference " Photo Tours of Interest (with Pictures). Where, I had recently purchase the different types and added descriptions on their use. 8. One key `academic' reason for the use of the Ba Gua (configuration) based on the First Heaven Sequence [ reference url: http://www.geomancy.net/resources/art/art-pakua.htm ] is that it symbolises the family unit. And as we know, a close knit family unit is symbolically a powerful tool. 9. Again, if you approach any Western Feng Shui practitioner, they will entirely say " rubbish ". I am not here to argue on this. And, there is never a correct answer. Or no one can be absolutely right or wrong. 10. Based on the above reasoning, it is in my opinion, a better option that you do not use a simple mirror but instead use the Ba Gua trigram based on the First Heaven Sequence Ba gua. 11. An alternative, is to place two potted plants on each side of the main door. If done, there is no need for a Ba Gua mirror. Warmest Regards, Cecil
  3. Note: This is an interesting link about the Punggol 21 project:- The URL where you can find out more about the Punggol 21 Master Plan - One of the last largest major housing development area 1. This is a further note to the case study of our office situation. 2. As part of our strategic planning, we have decided to be situation just a `stone thow' away from Singapore's ambitious Punggol 21 project housing. 3. Where this is the area where, most of the major Housing & Development Board public flats are situated. 4. To service and support a large number of clients who intend to do renovations, or move in to the area since early this year, we were able to reduce travelling time to the new flats at Punggol 21 and bordering it ie. Sengkang and Buangkok Cresent area. 5. Our hope here is provide a faster turn-around time. Even though Singapore is small, the traffic problem will continue to grow. And .. I believe many of us... really hate... being caught up in a constant nasty traffic snarl. For now, it is felt that, this has been positive. At the same time, we are still above to support easily new housing located especially at Choa Chu Kang and Sembawang. This will keep us quite busy for many years to come. Warmest Regards, Cecil

  5. Dear Marti, 1. In my opinion, this is a minor or a non-issue especially for hornet bees. 2. From my own personal experience, when I was young, I can reminicent, staying in a compound especially where the fencing has `plants' with flowers growing on them, I could recall, these hornet bees had something like a yellow ring. 3. And often they would come close to the flowers on the fence. Perhaps, this is where they do polinate the plants. Sometimes, they do buzz close to my ears but I have never seen them `attack' myself or anyone. 4. Frankly, today, sometimes when one fly past my garden, I would simply stand there and listen to them. They have never created any problems. 5. However, this would be different if there is a honet's nest somewhere close-by. This is a totally different issue. As they have a queen inside the nest. And like us human beings or any other animals, would fiercely defend their nest. It is only natural. 6. Honestly, I have not encountered, cats that stray into the premises. This is because, we use to keep dogs. And these dogs do not take kindly to any other 4 legged creatures. But, I personally feel that it is again a non-issue. I believe some of us are allegic to cat furs.. well this is I think the only `threat' especially to those who may be allegic to it e.g. young ones.. Warmest Regards, Cecil
  6. Dear Peck Wun, Based on your description, Yes, this type of sitting arrangement is still acceptable. A sample of the similar situation, that you may have faced is attached below: " 4-roomimproved-3.gif Usually, the sofa has a backing and you can use this opportunity to not sit close to this edge or beam. 8. "Personalise Your Feng Shui" This module is currently the most frequently requested Agenda for Private Feng Shui Talks organised inconjunction with many Company's Recreation Club organisers:- The rationale is that many individuals would like to see Feng Shui personalised to themselves rather than to look at it from a remote `distance'. 9. 1. Type of Flats: Housing & Development Board, Singapore (Government Built Flats) 2. Location: Rivervale Crescent: http://streetdirectory.com/mapsize2.cgi?x=35956.0052&y=41479.5271&level=6 (Lower right hand side of the map where Block 158A is shown facing the CHONG GHEE Temple. 3. Cluster of Flats in Blocks: 158A, 158B, 158C, 158D 4. Availability: Singaporeans getting their keys in phases. 5. Attachments: 2 photos of the Chong Ghee Temple 1 photo of drive-in at Blk 159A (next to carpark at Blk 160) Remarks:- 1. Many Singaporeans will be getting their keys to units under this block. And the most frequent question asked is: Will the temple affect my home? 2. Overall, based on my earlier survey of this site for several clients, who have moved in or due to move in, the block that is most affected is located at Blk 158A. However, only flats that are directly facing this temple is `affected'. Especially those whose apartments are at levels 2 to 5 or units #02 and #05 that are directly facing it. 3. I found that overall, this temple is relatively new and `clean' (do not house human urns etc). Thus overall, does not pose a real threat to other units such as Blk 158B, 158C or 158D Warmest Regards, Cecil
  10. Part I - Case Study of Inauspicious Layouts =========================================== 1. Type of Flats: Housing & Development Board, Singapore (Government Built Flats) 2. Locations: Block 272A, Jurong West St 64 and Block 271D, Jurong West St 24 3. Enclosed please find two sample layout plans from designs found in these two flats. 4. Availability: Currently for Sale 5. `Threats' related to these two layouts:- 5.1 Riddled with major missing corners 5.2 Toilet at the center-point of the house (imply financial problems or money cannot be easily retained) In this first part, overall recommendation: Don't Buy. (There are other better layouts to select... Try to Avoid) Warmest Regards, Cecil
  11. Dear Anon, 1. Based on 965, where 9 represents fire, six metal element and 5 (bad Yellow five or earth), the 9 with 5 is not ideal as fire (9) enhances earth (5). 2. A 6 (metal) may not be enough in such a situation. 3. Many FS practitioners, consider a computer as belonging to the fire element. Therefore, if you can, try to add more `metal' e.g. 6 coins to further destroy the two combinations of fire-earth. Warmest Regards, Cecil
  12. From: Glyn Hezakiah Subject: "Landed" in Singapore Date: Tue, 16 Apr 2002 19:44:27 +0800 To: Cecil Lee ------------------------------------- Cecil and Robert I am so thrilled that you have made your stamp on the tiny island. There is so much bullshit out there in FS land, finally I am happy to know that your brand of FS prevails. The following is a heartfelt endorsement of your success. Should you see fit to publish it on your website please do so. Cheers Glyn --------------------------------------- I have had the absolute priveledge of studying Feng Shui under the guidance of Masters Cecil and Robert Lee. Apart from learning the traditional method of this system, they have also taught me about compassion and humility. These qualities are extremely important in my opinion as we are dealing with people's lives when we delve deeply into their Four Pillars Chart and try assist as much as possible. Over the years, nothing has been too much of a problem for them in helping me attain the success I now experience. How I wish they were in down town Perth, Western Australia. I sincerely hope you Singaporeans understand just how very very fortunate you are to have them "on tap". I am originally from Singapore many years ago and I have an excellent understanding of the culture and lifestyle of the Island. Out of interest, I "monitor" a few Feng Shui "Lists" coming out of Singapore and to say that there is amazing nonsense being proliferated is putting it very mildly indeed. I feel so very sorry for those being "sucked in". So guys, we are a very lucky bunch of folk to be under the umbrella of Cecil and Robert Lee. I have no doubt reading all the posts that come thru Geomancy Net that you all do appreciate their efforts. Let me say, this is an unsolicited endorsement and if Cecil and Robert see fit, I can be contacted at my email address which is lifestyle88@ozemail.com.au Sincerely Glyn Hezakiah

  14. Dear Yang Ming, I like to add that, in my opinion, I am very confident that the "Black Hat" model is not viable in the Far East especially Singapore, Malaysia and Hong Kong and Taiwan. This is because, the "Black Hat" is based on a `marketing ploy'. I feel Black Hat is not viable for the following reasons:- 1. Locally in Singapore, the traditional Feng Shui practitioner does not mix products with their consultation. 2. Since products are readily available in a wide area in Singapore, there is NO REASON for a Feng Shui practitioner to tout such goods. 3. Unlike in the West, where perhaps, some of the products are rarer to find. And usually, some FS practitioners (authentic or otherwise) may bring along various products such as windchimes, coins etc...) 4. In such a situtation, this is where the Black Hat had taken advantage of this situation. And, based on this rationale, this is why, I feel that they had been highly successful in their `marketing ploy'. 5. I was told by many users in the forum, that some of these Black Hat practitioners charge a very low fee. But at the end of the day, you have to buy lots of material goods from them. To enhance the various sectors. 6. This model is thus never viable in a country like Singapore. For example, if one goes to Bugis area (in town), there are lots of shops in that area selling FS goods, enhancers or cures. 7. Likewise, we have our Chinatown area - another area where there are many shops selling such stuffs. Even in locations like Holland Village Shopping Centre. 8. In an audit done for one of my previous client on her father's home and another one for her sister's home, they even were able to purchase the 6 rod wind chimes from Mustapha (Serangoon Road) - a well known Indian retailer in Singapore. One can also go to local HDB (housing board shops) and find lots of such objects all over Singapore. This proves that, there is relatively no value in stocking or overcharging on such objects as the price is `well known'. No one can thus sell a $6 6rod windchime for e.g. Singapore $25. Thus get cheated as a result. Not viable at all. Therefore, for a scheme that trys to promote material goods, this is a fatal error if they ever come to Singapore shore! In addition, we never seen any reviews or praise of Black Hat nor "well known" personalities of such sort, televised or broadcast on any of our mass media. In fact in my opinion, such scheme (Black Hat) is set to fail even before, it can even get started in Singapore. Warmest Regards, Cecil
  15. Further to what I had mentioned, the characteristic of a Black Hat Sect is:- 1. The use of a Fixed Template much like the Eight Associations or Life Associations Template. 2. Does not use a compass be it an ordinary compass or a luopan to access your house. 3. The Black Hat person simply super-impose a fix template based on the position of the main door. And all the `life associations' fall in place. Here, you will hear terms like: various corners: Fame Wealth Helpful people/work children/creativity/future family/past knowlege/spirituality relationship/marriage career Most of the time, the advise is to enhance the various sectors with commercial products. Unfortunately, this is considered `hocus pocus' "Feng Shui". And Frankly, as mentioned earlier, one would hardly if ever find such practise in Singapore, Hong Kong or the Far East. Even in Taiwan - the country of origin of Lin Yun, the "founder of this scheme". However, or unfortunately, this type is widespread particularly in the US, Canada or any other countries that has been `contaminated' with it or its following. Warmest Regards, Cecil
  16. Dear Anon, 1. So far, I have yet to come across a Singapore Feng Shui practitioner using "Black Hat" stuff. 2. First, I believe many Singaporeans would not simply be so gullible to be `conned' by such a person (Black Hat). In fact, so far, I have yet to find a Black Hat practitioner locally or in the Far East. Other than, unfortunately, Lillian Too, who associate herself with some of them. 3. Otherwise, you should personally feel at ease, with the type of Feng Shui practised here. The only "concern" I feel is the type of knowledge used by various practitioners. Some Feng Shui practitioners in Singapore only practice the "Eight House" + Shapes and Forms. And some use Eight House and Flying Star with Shapes and Forms. In fact, I noticed because of our presence, many Feng Shui practitioners have no choice but to use or include very rudimentary "Ba Zi". To get in par with our full range of audit. In fact, two years back, a new Feng Shui practitioner had asked me this question " Is it important to use Ba Zi ". Today, she really has no choice but to apply basic chart. It is thru consumer requests that, I feel it is overly good sign that Feng Shui can truly become a holistic method. 4. Therefore, you do not have to worry much of "Black hat" but is good to find out more from the practitioner, the type of school used in his/her practise. It is the hope that, by doing so, and by insistence of "clients", many local FS practitioners would be forced to continue learning. And not continue with basic methods. Warmest Regards, Cecil

  23. " My name is Daniel and i'm 17 years old. I live in New Zealand, located in the Southern Hemisphere. Today life is worth a million dollars. Yesterday it was only worth 2 cents. I can list a million things to tell you what feng shui has done to me in the last few weeks.... The information in the site is VERY VERY ACCURATE. without this site i think feng shui would die out because people won't trust it anymore. Best of luck to everyone. And make sure you apply whatever it is correctly and always monitor the changes because the little things can be disasterous. Thank you for the effort you guys are doing to making this world a better place." Dan, New Zealand
  24. " I read about some exceptional experience with Feng Shui, I have my fair share of unpleasant experience with the so called Feng Shui expert , who visited my apartment and advice of various changes. To be fair with him, there were some improvement in my family life particularly my wife and son. The main problem with the expert is the unwillingness to share his knowledge , not even to paying customer ! When the consultation period was over, it is even more difficult to extract anymore Feng Shui knowledge from him. I have paid quite a few hundreds and all I get are instructions without explanation. I have no idea which "house" I belong, what is my "bai zi" , where are the good direction etc. I have read a few books by Lillian Too on DIY feng shui but I am always doubtful whether it is the right interpretation and whether I have applied correctly. Having found this site was a blessing because now I can have someone to guide me along. Please keep up the great work. " Ang Jen
  25. Dear Cecil " I contacted Robert and you initially in November last year, having gone through an 18month period of never ending bad luck. I also had an arm injury, which would not heal after a year. Absolutely nothing would go right for me, not even the simplest most trivial thing. I then found that finances were a problem. As recommended I completed a Flying Star report, and a Pillars of Destiny Report, and followed all the recommendation and cures. I also received allot of advice from your Free Advise service, and read all the previous messages for tips. I am delighted to report that the string of bad luck has now been broken, and I have gone back to normal, which is brilliant. I can?t thank you both enough. Finances are also satisfactory, so I can now work hard and strive to achieve greater things. I will always remember your kindness, it was most encouraging. I will try to use your example, and help other people when they are in need and maybe I can do something to help. Many thanks. " Regards Liz Cooper
