1. Please note that I have used the site plan of Mackenzie 138 BUT changed the compass direction to illustrate the effects of continous evaporation of water from the swimming pool may affect residents particularly the very young - with respiratory problems. 2. In this EXAMPLE or ILLUSTRATION, notice the following:- 2.1. the entire block consists of a "U" shaped layout plan - where all the stacks are "joined" closely together. 2.2. Fortunately, the compass direction is just for illustration - not real. But it shows that depending on the height of the entire block, surely at least morning sun would shine on the swimming pool at least starting from 11am and on a sunny day, it will built up until 5 plus pm. 2.3 You will notice that the the length (or the longest side) of the swimming pool is aligned East to West. 3. Unit Types D, C & E are just directly above the swimming pool. And on days with very high evaporation of the "chemical water" in the pool, and assuming that not everyone opens their windows, some units on either side may be exposed to much more moisture from the constant evaporation from the swimming pool. 4. Here, especially those with very young or new born may be exposed to higher concentrations of such "moisture" especially if they are at lower floors; depending on the wind conditions and how wide they open their windows. And if other neighours don't open their windows - can be another factor. 5. Fortunately, on the next thread, will attach the actual layout plan with its actual compass markings. Here, the exposure of the swimming pool to direct sunlight is much lesser as the swimming pool no longer aligns itself with the east and west compass line.

1. This is another small condo. 2. In fact many triangle plots can often be very small plots of land. 3. However, the architect made this one of the most "Feng Shui" friendly non-porcupine type of development. The whole estate looks modern; with clean lines and totally no poison arrows aimed at "each other". 4. In terms of Shapes and Forms, has to be one of the most "Feng Shui friendly" layouts around.
-
Besides "V" shaped developments, some U shaped developments, in fact small developments where all the stacks seems to be joined so closely often have the most "porcupines". What are porcupines.. It is my way of describing sharp corners of other stacks (block / unit) aimed at another stack (block/unit). In this example, only ONE stack ; stack 07 seems to be like a porcupine. And markings D and E cancel each other out. While B and C seems to generate a poison arrow aimed towards unit 01. Further investigation should be made at unit 01 to see if the two B and C poison arrows really pose a threat or not thru any opening at stack 01. Marking A is harmless- does not pose a threat to it's neighbour stack(s)

If you are an architect or developer; please take note of this illustration. The architect of this small development of landed properties have cleverly made sure that none of the landed properties within this estate is affected by a home at the "T" junction. Please see attachment: circled in red. Instead of squeezing one or two more homes between this empty space, they have thus avoided what would have been a home facing a "T" Junction. An excellent way to over-come a home at a "T" Junction! Architects should learn from this Far East development.

1. I am afraid, what you are practising is today, considered as "Kindergarten" type of Feng Shui. 2. Unfortunately, there are still some "uneducated" Feng Shui practitioners that still provide a service and that is why, some feel it is acceptable to apply what you are trying to do. 3. Every human being has a birthday. I mean, surely all of us must have come out of our mum's womb on a specific day and time. 4. Similiarly, every home also has a birthday. And this birthday need not be so exact as our YY/MM/DD/ Hour of birth (Year/Month/Day/Hour of birth). All we need to know is which period our home was especially T.O.P. (occupational licence obtained and stayed in). 5. Thus, if we just got our keys to a brand new condo. For example, the Quartz condo, then this development is said to have a birthdate that falls within 2004 to 2023. 6. Of course, you may be staying in a home that was first lived in for the very first time between 1984 to 2003 or even earlier i.e. 1964 to 1983. 7. Please see attachment: This is a very simple sample of a full Flying Star Chart combined with ba zi analysis. 7.1 In this example, this family consists of:- PER A = Father PER B = Mother SON1 = their eldest son SON2 = their youngest son 7.2 Based on their individual ba zi, their best colours are shown under the chart Page 2. Assuming if both son's sleep together in the same room, their best combined colours are also worked out. 7.3. In addition, there is another variable: there are two bedrooms: Bedroom 2 &/or Bedroom 3; the detail in this sample even shows what colours to use and what colours to be avoided - based firstly on the flying star Feng Shui. 7.4 For example, for bedroom 3, based on the Flying star Feng Shui, it is best to avoid : 1. Bright Yellow and 2. RED else can trigger sickness. 7.5 for example, again for bedroom 2, flying star feng shui emphaise the need to avoid: Bright Yellow and Bright Green. 8. If you go thru this SAMPLE illustration, it is a matter of first getting the best colours based on Flying Star, then "FIT" the person or persons or combined persons into that bedroom - to harmonise their colours. 9. Thus it is not so simplistic as what you think. Anyway, cannot blame you as it truly requires lots of analysis and thorough work - even for a small apartment. But personally according to Bazi, I am a strong wood person, is itbetteroff putting metal/fire element feng shui object in the East/ wood sector that is my Sheng chi area although it might reduce the wood element in the east? I am still confused about that, due to many fengshui theories that might conflict each other. Thanks. Dave

This is a tiny condo development with a total of 34 units. Tenure left is 947 years to go. Estimated completion date is in mid 2011. It's a very uncommon "V" shaped layout plan. Flying star is a Period8 development. The main block with stacks 06& 07 facing NW. While stacks 08& 09 facing SE. And a smaller block with stacks 01 & 02 West 2 facing. And stacks 3 & 4 East 2 facing. I brought out this site as another example where we have to be careful of the "porcupines" i.e. sharp corners aimed at the individual units. Please refer to attachment: In this example, the most distinct poison arrow is the purple marking "D" where the sharp corner of stack 07 creates a poison arrow towards stack 04 thru the living room balcony area. There is another poison arrow in the purple marking "B". Where stack 04's corner is aimed towards stack 06's living room area. Happy to note that the rest of the markings "A, C, D & E" don't seem to pose an issue as these are psuedo poison arrows that don't attack any stack or stack openings. Although marking C may or may not attack stack 07 which has to be closed evaluated on-site. Facilities Swimming Pool, Jacuzzi, Playground, Gymnasium, BBQ, Basement Parking

1. When buying a property always remember to take a mental snapshot of whether there are any poison arrows (close-by) e.g. the sharp corner of an neighbour's stack (unit) attacking your unit! 2. What constitutes an attack of such poison arrow(s) or sharp corners? Stand inside the home, look out of every window (balcony sliding doors included). Make sure that there are no sharp edge or corner especially a neighbour's cornering unit edge aimed towards a window or living room area. 3. Please see attachment. In this example, try to spot all the external poison arrows that one unit "aims" at another. Go into your unit to check that none of the red or purple arrows are aimed at your unit. 4. It is very common to see such "porcupine" buildings especially if the architect designs a home with lots of corners, edges...

1. This condominium is still under construction. The condominium is located at West Coast Road. It is expected to be completed by 2010 with a tenure of 99 years . 2. There are a total of 240 units. The developer isFrasers Centrepoint Ltd. 3. The development comes under Flying Star Period 8. And all the building facade are either North or South facing i.e N2 or S2 directions. 4. Technically, based purely on the flying star, S2 directions are the better facing direction. As it has a double auspicious #8's at the frontage. And many units (stacks) have a water postion at it's frontage. And furthermore, some units can further enhance their wealth with a water position at the SW sector e.g. if it is their balcony area. 5. Units with their facade at N2, is said to have wasted their "wealth" as it is at the back of the home usually the kitchen / back area of the home. 6. Please see attachment: In red marking "A". Usually throughout the day, the water positions would be bathed by the morning and afternoon sun. And if many lower units do not have their windows opened, few units that are lower floors and frequently open their windows may be affected by the evaporated "dirty" chemical water that flows into the home. 7. Often those who have young babies especially for the first few months may not be used to the higher concentration of such "moisture". This is greater concern especially since blocks 82 and 90 and 88 and 86 forms such a "long corridor" and usually qi or air has not choice but to "pass" thru the units. 8. Marking in red B is not an issue since there should be sufficient air-flow with such a short "corridor". I am truly more concered with lower units particularly at stacks 28, 27 and 25! 9. Such respiratory concerns are not new. And it has happened at the rivervale crest condo (next to Rivervale mall).

1. Waterfront waves is a new uncompleted development located at 760 to 782 Bedok Reservoir Road. 2. The estimated completion date is two years away in 2011. 3. This development belongs to Period 8:- 3.1 Excellent units especially for East Group persons are stacks: 03 and 04 (light blue) 3.2 In general, stacks 17 to 24 (in pink) has good qi frontage of approximately 60 degrees or NE3 facing direction. And correspondingly, stacks 15, 16 and 21, 22and 25 have stacks facing SW3. Equally good facing directions especially for the West Group. (Other than the consideration of the dreaded afternoon sun). 4. Stacks 01, 02, 05, 06, 07, 08, 09, 10, 13 and 14 (bright yellow) hopefully remain as a North 3 facing direction. As the compass direction seems to "hover" around 20 degrees. Which is very close for comfort to the line of emptiness ie. 22.5 degrees. Again, hopefully, these units do not fall exactly at 22.5 degrees as the term "emptiness" suggests. Proper compass reading should be taken once the development has TOP - and lets cross our fingers for those who buy these units. Other development information: Tenure: 99 years consisting of 405 units. It's developer is Frasers Centrepoint Limited with Far East Organisation. Is a new development by City Developments Ltd. It is located off Pasir Ris Drive 1 & within walking distance to the Pasir Ris MRT Station. Located just off Pasir Ris Drive 1, Livia is within walking distance to the Pasir Ris MRT Station and highly accessible via the TPE, PIE and EXP. This development takes advantage of the Flying Star Period 8: with many units (see attachment) highlighted in Yellow which have their blocks (stacks) either facing NE1 or SW1. Under the current Period 8 (2004 to 2023); units that are facing NE1 or SW1 are considered to have one of the best qi (especially for those who are west group persons). Many of these blocks are well-positioned with the NE1 and SW1 alignment. And unlike many other developments which are often clustered together, Livia does create a sense of space and have a good flow of qi within it's estate. This water fountain is technically based on the Five Elements concept: circular ball represents metal tall structure represents wood made of granite = earth element add water and also a light, becomes a full five elements concept. BUT, this design is "hell of an ugly" in today's modern times... It may look cool in the 1980's but.. rather "ancient" today!

Kindly follow this link to access a comprehensive review of The Pinnacle@Duxton: The Pinnacle@Duxton comprises seven slender towers, each standing 48 storeys high. This project will represent the tallest public housing in Singapore, being twice the height of the majority of Housing Board flats. Collectively, the seven slender towers will take on the appearance of a massive curved screen, interconnected at their 26th storeys and at the roof level by sky gardens that include jogging tracks and various sports and recreational amenities. This project was originally scheduled for completion in 2007. However, it now appears that the completion date is set for later this year. As the towers are oriented in different directions, they effectively face a variety of orientations, including North, South, East, West, Northeast, and even Southwest. The site was previously a nutmeg plantation, as the soil was particularly suitable for nutmeg cultivation.

1. I very glad that you have correctly understood that for an existing home; looking at house numbers is like looking at the past. 2. And I happy to learn that you are not dwelling with the past, but looking forward. 3. For every one of you, there are 10 more who still dreams about the "past" or look at how to change the past! Ridicious rite?

1. This report is more useful for someone who is searching for an apartment and looks at the house number(s) before purchasing a home vs another home. 2. For example, for those who intend to purchase, say a newly launched development; they could try to check which unit under a stack is better. 3. After you have purchased or owned a flat, isn't too late? 4. Here, you have to apply this and other concepts:- http://wiki.geomancy.net/wiki/The_Concept_of_Maximizing_Marks

1. My advise to all is: "When the buying stops, the selling can!" 2. Commercial products are modern inventions. The main purpose is to cheat us of our money into buying them:- http://wiki.geomancy.net/wiki/Commercial_Products Momo O. wrote: I am a west person. dragon sign (1964 Dec). 1. In this illustration, anything related to the "fire element" especially an oven or stove should not be directly facing a bedroom door. 2. As all of us are aware, how often we close the kitchen door - in most homes. So long as the kitchen door is closed all the time, then there is no effect of the oven facing the bedroom door.
-
1. It is very common for the stove to face the living room. However, in some layouts, the stove faces a bedroom door. 2. For example, please see the attached illustration: 2.1 It shows a hypothetical case where this home does not have a kitchen door. 2.2 And the stove is facing one of the bedrooms (inYELLOW) where a family member is sleeping in the bedroom. 3. In this example, more importantly a stove facing especially the bedroom can affect the health of the person or parties sleeping in that bedroom. Phil S. wrote: Sir, can i say that although my stove (my back) is facing the windows but it is a distance away which i do i not think a direct wind will reach the stove. There is no bad fengshui issue like a stove facing the kitchen entrance will bring bad luck to the owner? Thanks PS

1. Yes, you can definitely ignore fake birthdates. 2. In fact, the "truth" or real birth date is critical! 3. For example, often we get clients that have a family member that told us that they can remember exactly their lunar birth-day. And this date is properly converted back to the western date. 4. In the past, many people were born in remote areas and often, there is a time lag between their actual day of birth and the day their family member say; went to a police post to make a police report. Thus their actual birthday is 7 July 1930. But their birth certificate shows 17 July 1930. But their parents had recorded somewhere or still remember that their "child" was born on 7 July 1930. 5. In this example, we should use 7 July 1930. And totally ignore 17 July 1930! Polly K. wrote: Dear Master Cecil, I know that there are quite a few Chinese who change their children's birth year to make their children seem a year younger (so that they appear very accomplished/mature for their age). If someone who has been using a false date of birth on ID documents (hukou, driver's license, etc) wants to calculate their fengshui, is it sufficient to use their real birthday, or does the fake one have to be taken into account somehow? Can it be safely ignored? Thank you! Polly

1. Please note that the Eight House concept is very rigid i.e. Either you spent time at such and such a location or you don't. Or you try to avoid. It is like ebony and ivory - black and white - hot and cold. 2. This concept offers no cures for the above. 3. Basically, some clever people or those who have the money, actively search out good homes where the bedroom sectors all "fall into" place. For example, when constructing a new home, a wealth person, would engage a geomancer to make things right - the first time. 4. Thus many of us who does not have the luxury of having such expert advice can only apply Eight House Feng Shui based on "Nice-to" have situations. 5. Thus it is "Nice-to" have sleeping in a good bedroom; but if the bedroom sector is not good for you, then just too bad. You cannot take advantage of this "nice-to" have concept. Unless, you can get the earthquake to severely tilt your home or bed towards a good sector. Not possible rite? FULL STOP! 6. If you have a window nearby or in the bedroom, one of the best way to activate the wealth star for the year is to allow it to circulate into the home. Thus the simplest solution is to allow wind or air to circulate especially thru an opening in the bedroom. This is far better than activating a crystal etc...

1. Frankly, donkey years ago, Feng Shui practitioners had the vague notation that North = water, south = fire. 2. In modern times, unfortunately; this type of "evaluation" or "thinking" is equivalent to Kindergarten type of Feng Shui. 3. Today, a more accurate way of finding out whether the sector is or is not a water wealth location is to find out where is the Water star #8 current prosperity located in a home. This is thru the use of Flying Star Feng Shui. 4. Are you so sure that North is your actual (current) water wealth location; in the first place. If not; how effective can one be if one is activatinga location that is not even the real water wealth position. It is like taking a sugar coated pill - psuedo effect.. 5. The morale of the story is to "get your facts correct" before one can properly determine where is the water wealth and then try to activate it. 6. If the location is a real water wealth location, it is better to activate it with real water (yang water) as opposed to yin water. If yin water is used, it is far better to use colours e.g. blue colour to activate it than untested items like a black coloured glass cabinet etc... or some crummy crystals...

1. If you are able to analyse your home using a proper Flying Star Feng Shui chart; you can try to neutralise this issue by locating especially where is the Mountain star #3 and water star #3. 2. These stars #3 are related to issues such as what you had mentioned. If you are able to disarm or neutralise these stars; it would often help to relieve such a problem.
