  1. Yes, this has been done by many people before. N J. wrote: So can the renovation carry on in 7th lunar month, if it started any day before 1st day of 7th month?
  2. 1. Most importantly, Chinese don't like to move into a home during the following circumstances or "months":- 1. Qin Ming month 2. Some old folks advise their family members not to move-in during the 6th lunar month. As they consider 6th lunar month is half-way mark. Or 50-50. So to them, everything will become 50-50 or half-half. 3. 7th Lunar month. 4. If one one takes a closer look at what I had wrote, it is associated with the words MOVE-IN. 5. Of course, many try to be kiasu (scared to die) and nowadays, everything in the 7th month also very scared to do. 6. As you had mentioned, it is perfectly fine if one wants to - start renovations before the 7th month. 7. There is no issue having a Feng Shui practitioner go to a home anytime. It is not like the Feng Shui practitioner is going to move-in to the home or something like that. 8. In fact, there are many who sign on the dotted line for the purchase of a home even during the 7th month! 9. Actually, many Chinese don't realise, only one or two days in the 7th month is regarded as not so auspicious otherwise, some Chinese regard especially some days of the 7th month is being auspicious! For example, any or every 1st lunar day and the 15th lunar days of any Chinese lunar months are suppose to be auspicious days as this days are Full moon days.
  3. 1. To activate a "mountain star"; no need to buy expensive items like the purple "mountain" or ametyst stone etc... 2. Solid objects range from a bowl of REAL coins to as you have mentioned tose plastic container that looks like a Chinese ingot. It can also range from smoothen rocks as found at the seaside. So long they either symbolically look like or are real solid objects.
  4. Some of the methods used to find the "Center-of-gravity". Frankly, all three center-of-gravity are pretty close to each other.
  5. In my opinion, as the terrace area is large, and considering the "center-of'gravity" if we exclude this "terrace" portion, I would personally consider the "extra area of Living Room (in RED)as a protusion instead. Sometimes, rudimentary action can be: - place a copy of the layout plan and paste it onto a cardboard. - cut out the outline (exlude the terrace only). - balance the cardboard on a pin. As the floor area of the protusion is small, most likely your "CENTER of GRAVITY" would fall close to the centrepoint of the rectangle as shown by the crossing of the two diagonal lines.
  6. Frankly, one has to see the actual interior layout plan. For example, in the attachment, Either "A" has a protusion e.g. garage or could also be "B". I really can't tell from a block of grey colour. In addition, is this home two levels e.g. ground floor and 1st storey? If there is a ground floor, is there an enclosed space e.g. the main door, or sliding door living room area? See attachment.
  7. Most people usually don't have the time nor the patience to monitor Flying Stars up to the micro levels. The key success factor is to consider the 20 Year Flying Star and concentrate on this. And the very few look at the Yearly stars. Thus, if the yearly stars together with the 20 year Flying stars are examined, this is often already very good. If one wants to go into the monthly flying stars; then best to consider the most serious star e.g. #5. And for other stars like #3, consider it in-relation to how many of these stars are within the 20 year, year at that sector. Only those with better knowlege can look at it with other stars like #4 etc...
  8. For compatibility based purely on the Chinese Zodiac signs:- http://www.lovesigns.net/horoscope/acompare/acompare.htm These are generalisations and rather superficial.
  9. 1. From my perspective, I have encountered numerous individuals who have opted for resale condominiums. Nevertheless, the majority of these units are fitted with either new or reasonably well-maintained stoves. Many people deem it unnecessary to replace such appliances. 2. This tendency is a fundamental aspect of human nature. When we receive feedback, particularly from our parents, we often engage in deep reflection regarding our actions. 3. Frequently, it requires someone close to us to provide critical feedback in order to stir feelings of guilt within ourselves. 4. Your inquiry is primarily centered on personal beliefs and does not pertain to the principles of Feng Shui. 5. Feng Shui encompasses the evaluation of whether the stove is appropriately positioned, along with other factors in the kitchen.
  10. Anonymous wrote: Moreover, she really seems not suitable for water or fire element especially in red or blue clothes. I notice the times she got painful knocks or fall sick coincide with big fire, water days. In my opinion, what you had mentioned above is indeed a tell-tale sign that the ba zi analysis is not correct. Anonymous wrote: As her name previously pick is of strong water and fire element, it seems not helpful. She is a difficult child to take care. Do you advise to get her name changed? You may consider having her name changed especially if the wrong ba zi analysis may have been done earlier. However, currently birth cert would have her original Chinese name. And if she does have a christian name, then less effective. As everyone will be calling her by her christian name vs her mandarin name. Nevertherless, you may want to consider getting her name "fixed".
  11. Further to what I had mentioned, you check out a sample of how an indiviual's ba zi has been derived on their career perspectives. Under this attachment, go to Pages 39 to 41. In this example, this person is considered as a Strong Fire person. Thus he has specific careers relating to his "weath" or "power and authority" or careers that are so-so.
  12. Under every ba zi, there are suppose to be three kinds of career associations:- 1. Career with Wealth. Here, such careers are suppose to bring one wealth. 2. Career with Power & Authority. Here, such careers are suppose to bring on high positions - with or without necessarily bringing in more wealth. 3. Careers that are acceptable, nothing fantastic. All these depends also whether one is a weak or strong element.
  13. Frankly, this is not acceptable morally in my country. As stagnant clean water can be a site for mosquito breeding. From a moral point of view, it may become illegal if this stagnant pool is found to be breeding mosquitoes. Perhaps, so long as your country does not have mosquitoes, then hmmmm... In the past especially 1960's to even early 1980's garage roofs always have a drainage pipe running towards the bottom. As the government found that many of these homes have clogged drainage pipes... especially due to debris like leaf falling into them, such drainage pipes are now totally banned. All roofing nowadays are purposely sloped to channel away rain water but no drainage for them. Amanda Y. wrote: Recently. I have visited some modern homes with staircases that have openings between each step. Also, these staircases have a small pool of water underneath it. It's just a small square of water - no koi fishes, no running water. Just stagnant clean water.
  14. 1. Frankly, as you have correctly asked the question: Does Feng Shui really help? 2. These are some of the considerations:- 2.1. Feng Shui is not a cure all. Thus everything cannot gravitate towards Feng Shui alone. 2.2. Under the Chinese "Holy Trinity" of luck; Feng Shui is just one of the three types of luck:- The three types of luck are:- Heaven Luck - or commonly known as born with Earth Luck - Feng Shui of the home, workplace or even at study Human (Man) Luck - Family relationships, bonding and support structure. 3. As one can see, Earth Luck accounts only for 33.3 percent of the above luck. Thus in an examination, anyone with just 33.3 marks upon 100 percent is considered having failed an examination. 4. The rich gets richer because they are able to tap on what is known as "Quantum Leap" in Feng Shui:- http://www.geomancy.net/products/po-hunting/po-hunting-faq.htm 5. Most of us don't have the luxury of Quantum Leap in Feng Shui nor as you had mentioned -born with a silver spoon. 6. Many of our homes are like "a ten year old 1,000cc car". And logically, even if one path the home with gold, one cannot dream that after doing a Feng Shui audit, such homes can become a Mercedes or BMW or even a Porche, no way. 7. There are lots of people, who don't have fantastic Heaven luck nor Earth luck; but what they have is the support given by family members especially one's kin - parents and brothers and sisters. At your current situation; this area should be your pillar of strength! What is past is past, and try to learn your mistake and be strong! or seek help from SOS of Singapore or other such organisations:- http://www.samaritans.org.sg/index1.html
  15. Perhaps, you can clarify these two points:- What you mean by reverse? The layout plan should be mirrored? I have not looked at the Flying Star but when you mention such things as #5 - it refers to Five yellow? #2 sickness stars..
  16. Further to what I had mentioned, a person's ba zi is derived by looking at the relationships of one's Heavenly stems and Earthly branches. A proper ba zi chart will involve 2 variables each for Year, Month, Day, Hour of birht and House of Life and House of conception to properly derive one's ba zi element and strengths. See attachment. While a rudimentary Chinese zodiac sign is based purely on one's year of birth. For example, Metal monkeys are only found under the year 1920 and 1980. http://www.lovesigns.net/horoscope/astro/mmonkey.htm (You just need to roughly know which year you are born) Compare the two and see which has more variables and information. In addition, everyone born in the 1980 are Metal Monkeys! So what? Too general! Even if everyone is born in 1980, there are such things as born in the a specific month and day. Even general Western zodiac signs have things like Gemini, Cancer, Aquarius etc...
  17. The proper traditional method is based on your personal bazi and not basic Chinese zodiac signs. Anyone practising such Chinese zodiac signs are using only very basic "kindergarten" type of Feng Shui practitioners. Why? It is so rudimentary and basic and is not the highest standard. It is just like a teacher who has only limited skills and can only teach nursery to primary school. Proper Ba Zi can even go to as high as "tertiary" level standards. So there is no comparison, here. Thus there are things like very basic Chinese zodiac signs that some people use. For example, http://www.lovesigns.net/horoscope/ayear/a60-80.htm Those born say between 16 Feb 1980 to 4 Feb 1981 are SIMPLY called the Metal monkeys. But these are just generally based soley on one's Year of birth. Where else traditional ba zi uses Day / Month / Year and even time of birth to evaluated to derive a properba zi information. As these variables will interact with each other to give the final analysis based on one's Day of birth pillar.
  18. 1. Generally, light pastel colours like Magnolia is acceptable. 2. However, watch the lights! If one uses warm lights, then colours like golden / mellow yellow can turn "bright yellow". If possible, avoid bright yellow colours. 3. In a situation, where this colour cannot be use, that colour cannot be used, then one option is for children's bedroom is a myriad of colours. For example a mickey mouse bedsheet pillow case often have all the primary colours especially: RED, GREEN, BLUE. (Some consider yellow as one of the primary colours). Thus, if a bedroom has all the above "4 primary" colours including yellow, then this is one way of applying all the five elements. Lenus L. wrote: Dear Master Cecil Lee, Are the following colour suitable for 2-5 combo: (1) Magnolia (2) Golden/Mellow Yellow Kind Regards, Pat
  19. 1.Check to see if it is feasible for the "back" to enjoy goodfrontage? Yes/No?For example, can activity area be at the back. Or it happens to be the kitchen, the linen area, laundry etc..And/or is the Flying Star qi there good to be the facing. 2. Ifyou had explored the back area and found it unsuitable, then, you may have to depend on the frontage. 3. If the garage is fully closed area;and if the qi coming from the frontage is suppose to be good, then,Yes, the qi can bewasted, here. 4. Alternatively, if youstill have frontage such as windows or asecond floor, thentry toopen the windows at this frontage areaas much as possible, if you do not wish to renovate your garage. 5. Locally, many Singapore homes don't have enclosed garage but a porche that a car can drive into andstill allow for qi to come into the frontage at the ground floor. Thisis like killing two birds with one stone - having a car park and free and easy movement of air /qi into the home. 6. Shifting the main door does not really matter, unless itbecomes an opening to letair/qi flow in. Equally, windows at the frontage is acceptable also.
  20. Please read my original reply. Since you are so concern about the glass piece; and as I had mentioned earlier, it just takes one or two friends or relatives to "spoill" the *YOUR* mood. In Feng Shui, it is still acceptable, since when you close the toilet door, it will still be air-tight. Please re-read my past message. Human beings are always like this: if someone gives you an inauspicious comment, followed by some other people, would you feel uncomfortable! Thus has more to do with human factors - feel good or feel bad...
  21. 1. It is not rocket science as all flying star numbers are either classifed as eitherYang or Yin (stars). 2. In the earlier example of a Period 8, N3 home (or apartment); it just happens that there are a high concentration of Yin stars at the North and NE. 3. Thus, especially if we draw a 20 Year Flying Star Chart; and like para 2, found that all the 20 Year stars belong to Yin element, then it is considered as Excessive Yin stars. 4. In both of the cases e.g. North and NE of the above, "fire" element is used to counter the excessive yin stars. Fire can simply be allowing light into that area or room i.e. keep it bright. Otherwise, especially in period where the Year star happens to be Yin also and month, day stars are yin; very highly chance of a "haunting". 5. Again, Excessive Yin stars are not necessarily negative stars. 6. One can also read up about NE and SW : Devil's gate and Devil's back door from past resources in this forum.
  22. When we are considering a second hand car, do we just look at the tires and buy it immediately. Proper Feng Shui is a holistic approach. Not only the exterior is looked at; but also the location of the staircase in relation to the main entrance; does it turn and even how many steps are there. Your question is like placing side-eye covers to a racing horse. And the poor horse can only look straight.... What is the use of buying a car with 4 excellent tires but the entire car is "run-down"..... or not fullly road worthy
  23. 1. Please note that there is a difference between NEGATIVE stars and EXCESSIVE Yin stars. 2. For example, EXCESSIVE Yin stars may not be Negative stars. But think about it, Negative stars may or may not be Yin stars. Please go thru the two statements carefully before jumping the gun!
