1. Please note that the dates are based purely on the way we Chinese calculate auspicious dates. 2. By tradition, the Chinese in the past and even now, don't see Friday 13 as bad!For example, the saying goes.. one man's meat is another man's poision. Even in the western world, there are some who says that Friday 13 is lucky for them, while perhaps, majority fear it. 3. For the Chinese, especially the Hokkien Dialect group, the no. 6 is considered a lucky number. As the phonetic sound in Hokkien dialect : "6" means LUCK. Especially for Christians, many don't like "666" - devils number. But to Chinese Hokkiens, 666 means LUCK, LUCK, LUCK. 4. Thus, what is suppose to be good for one race may not be good for another race (country or creed). Thus, IF YOUR CULTURE, feels that Friday the 13th is bad, then don't choose that date, simple! 5. In my country, perhaps, influenced by the west and for some who may have seen movies like Friday, the 13th, could just "fear that date". But touchwood, so far during my life-span, I had seen or heard many Friday the 13th come and past-by me.... 6. Thus, the auspicious dates reports ONLY takes into consideration Chinese cultural - good or bad dates. But we don't include, western inauspicous dates/days - clash with the western culture. Now we, mark "13" as an unlucky number.

1. Yes, the Initial Opening Door Procedure, is meant more for the very (very) first time one becomes the owner of the home and enters it for the first time. 2. The procedure is technically non-religious. And if one were to view the procedures, it has more to do with "sowing wealth" into our new home. 3. Unlike condos, or some premier Housing Board flats, where the floor tiles/ cabinets and even kitchen cabinets and stove are ready; for homes (apartments) that are totally empty; the items as per "Para 8" should be placed on the floor. Roughly, at the spot where you may at this moment consider having a stove or simply place it in the middle of the kitchen. (There is no hard and fast rule, here). 4. Yes, the tea leaves are often purchased in packets. Not those "lipton tea bags" or grounded tea. Best that it should be "tea leaves".

1. Thanks for the illustration sketch. However, there are usually a few more considerations before, one can decide for certain where is the frontage of your home. 2. Please see attachment. 3. In general, from a totally flat 2D perspective, IT MAY look like the frontage is "West". 4. Definitely, you can rule out the frontage of the home as North. Since although the main door is located facing north, it is facing another unit. And the window(s) width looks not as large as those found at the entire stretch of West. 5. If your Living Room and/or even Dining Room is located at BLUE Marking 3 &/or 4, much the better and if your kitchen (back yard area or linen area) is at Marking(s) 5 or 6, again, much the better. As this will boost the idea that your frontage is at West. 6. You did not mention, what is found under BLUE MARKINGS: 1 and 2. (Another home? or Future home at Marking 1? At Marking 2, is it the backyard of your neighbour's home. 7.Frankly, even if we are examing a 2D perspective, it would be best to ascertain what are these Markings 1 to 6. This is only being responsible - to do a proper evaluation. Anonymous wrote: Dear Master Lee, Thank You for this forum! Can you tell me which way this house is facing? The main door faces north but on the west is the front garden, the road and the entire west wall is windows. Thanks Again

1. I am not going to discuss on your current M1, W4 & B6. 2. #8 being the current prosperity star - SE sector. Here, often, it can be activated with "mountain support" and water - clear space. 3. For example, when we discuss on Double #8's, usually what happens is that a water feature could be used in the area. The rationale for a water featureis that if there is a water postion at the frontage, there will not be a wall or mountain blocking this double #8 qi. 4. Thus, the clue is that how do we welcome, "wealth"? Do we build a mountain in-front of the #8 (wealth) to block it or do we encourage it to flow in? In a confined space, it may not be practical to place a water feature. 5, We can also consider "virtual water". For example, in a high rise building, when we look out of the window or balcony (if it is an unblocked view) then, this is considered as "virtual water. 6. Not withstanding the 20 year flying star numbers, the best way to activate a SE #8 is to have "both" water and moutain. For example, if one's work space is located at SE, usually in-front of the workspace (walk-area) is the clear space = water star. And we may correspondingly activate a mountain, say at the back of one's cubicle. Quote: Anonymous wrote: If I am sitting in a SE sector of M1, W4 and B6 in the office, with Wealth Star 8 coming into SE sector this year, what Fengshui cures do I need? Should I activate the Mountain Star or the Water Star for an office to stimulate the good stars?

1. A home is much like buying a car! 2. Imagine, you have a family of 8. And you own a China mini-cherry car or a 4-door saloon. No matter, how, you cannot squeeze all your family members into this 4-door saloon. You can, but you may have to tie two family members on the roof, and squeeze two more in the booth! 3. Some homes are like a run-down 20 year old hyundai car. No matter how much you Feng Shui the home, it can only run as bad as this gass guzzler and always break-down car! You cannot imagine that after the Feng Shui of the lousy home, your home or car can become a Ferrari or Mercedes S class!

I can think of thousand and one examples. The clue, here is that if you "pay peanuts, you get? PEANUTS!" A. The Barber and the Dentist 1. In the past many people with toothache, approach their barber to have their tooth pulled. That is why, the additional "RED" stripe on the barber pole represents "blood". 2. Nowadays, who do we visit when we have tooth problems (tooth decay, tooth ache etc.?) 3. Here, approaching a barber for our tooth woes is equivalent of practising "Trial and Error" Feng Shui. 4. Today, when we have tooth problem, the dentist would definitely, take an X-ray photo of our mouth. (This X-ray is akin to a Feng Shui practitioner, maping out a home's individual sector charts.) 5. Can you draw a parallel between then (the barber cum dentist) and a modern day dentist from this illustration? B. Magnetic Resonance Imaging (MRI Scan) Vs An X-Ray Unlike x-rays and computed tomographic (CT) scans, which use radiation, MRI uses powerful magnets and radio waves. An X-Ray, although is helpful, but it is a pure 2-D flat image. And often, difficult to see body tissues. More helpful at looking at bone structures. Even lung X-Rays, can only show a hazy or cloudy image e.g. of a person with TB. Here, the modern MRI machines are in colour, and can map out any parts of the human tissue, in three-dimension. A doctor or trained technician can even "slice" off any part of the body to view cancerous growth etc... Thus, the question asked is: Given the choice, do you want to rely on the equivalent of Trial and Error Feng Shui: the result is often 50-50 right or wrong (the X-ray) or the MRI (a full picture - equivalent of the Flying Star mapping of say a home). The saying goes, if you pay "peanuts, you get peanuts". The poor will always be poorer because they go for cheap things. Or want everything that is cheap but not necessarily good! Think about it! The full write-up with many illustrations are consolidated and can be found, here:- http://www.geomancy.net/wiki/Trial_%26_Error_Vs_Flying_Star#Flying_Star_As_A_Diagnostic_Tool_Vs_Trial_.26_Error.21

1. Thanks for the illustration. 2. Yes, moving the kitchen to Bedroom 3 (SW) is a double edged sword! As you had mentioned the stars at SW ain't good. In addition, in general, SW is considered as the "indirect water wealth" spirit location (up to the year 2023). Thus it can affect one's wealth. 3. Based on the layout plan, the "good thing" is that NW is not directly within the compass cardinal point of NW. You can still have especially the stove (if possible) closer to the North sector of the kitchen. Quote: Anonymous wrote: Dear Master Cecil, We finally received our new apartment and currently planning for the renovation. As you can see from the attached file, the current location of the kitchen is between N and NW sector. We know this is bad for the breadwinner, and thinking of shifting the kitchen to bedroom 3 (not using) at the SW sector. However SW sector is afflicted by 1 5 3 stars and accordingly having a kitchen here will make the stars worst. Please advise whether to shift or remain at NW. Or is it better to move the kitchen more towards the N sector though it is beside the entrance? Thank you in advance most gratefully, Anon

1. Many years back when vehicles (cars) were not so sophisticated, many experienced Automobile Association (AA) vehicle break-down technicians could most likely, help to "revive" a vehicle, especially if the vehicle had battery problem, alternator and even fuel (pump) and many other common faults. 2. Today, most likely if we were to call the AA for breakdown assistance, other than battery problems, their technicians would tell you... "we will arrange to tow your vehicle to any workshop that you specify!" So far, only one country I know: Germany does have a great on-site vehicle break-down service support for their autoban. 3. Here, again, opening the bonnet of a car, does not guarantee one that the car can be repaired! As nowadays, the fuel system is not so simple, some with sophisticated injection system, and others like flywheel sensors and other systems. 4. Times have changed! Thus, maybe, if one asked a question like: "is the water feature suitable for my marriage?" 20 years ago, the Geomancer will tell you (depending on a 50-50 chance), he will say, yes or no! And then cross-his fingers. 5. Today is different! For those who are ignorant of readily available tools that can most likely give more information, much like the revised software diagnostic tools, then we should be using it. The cave-man approach is "this Flying Star" is greek or latin to me! Again, too-bad! 6. In-car Entertainment system (I.C.E) Car Installers Sales, services and installation of complete car stereo systems, securities and accessories. In the past, adding or changing in-car radio systems was a breeze. Nowadays, even experienced such car installers would not want to touch especially a BMW! As they are worried that tapping the wrong wires may even explode the various air-bags. Worse! Normal installers don't have the hardware/software to activate on/off a feature! For example, if we were to fit a bluetooth or additional factory approved car alarm for a BMW, you still need to go to an authorised workshop with the necessary software to "turn" on that feature - thru the software. Things have changed. In the past, without additional professional tools like "Flying star", statistically, all decisons are "trial and error" 50-50 percent right or wrong some of the time. And today, there are so many readily available info on many of the Feng Shui tools etc...

1. This two sample illustrations combine the two major Compass School Feng Shui:- 1.1. The Eight House Concept 1.2. The Flying Star Feng Shui 2. Professional Feng Shui practitioners use both concepts. (Of course in addition to other concepts like the Ba Zi of individuals, and Shapes and Forms Feng Shui, missing corners, external threats such as angles of other buildings). 3. The Eight House Concept has more to do with "Nice-to-have" sleeping in a good sector/ good direction and also which is the good direction for study or work. 4. The Flying Star Feng Shui This "proper diagnostic" tool can help to:- 4.1. Enhance sectors e.g. if detected and feasible to be applied. 4.2. Help to understand whether a sector can or cannot place a water feature. 4.3. It is used to understand "wealth" leaks and help to guide what "cure(s)" to be implemented. 6. In authentic traditional Feng Shui, these are some of tools, that we need to: do the homework with and then draw conclusions from these analysis. And there should not be an excuse for some to "demand" an answer when all these information are not available to a practitioner. 7. If these tools are not used, then the word "Sorry" apply Trial and error, please. 8. Attachment: 8.1 Flying-Star-Diagnostic-Tool.gif Is an example of a "worked" example of not only simply placing Flying Star numbers but the need to individually analyse each and every sector of a home. This sample is meant for a home that was built and constructed between 1984 to 2003. 8.2 Flying-Star-Diagnostic-Tool-1.gif If there is major renovations done on or after 2004, the qi may change to this sample.

Further to what I had mentioned about the example of a modern car, diagnostic using computer software... if the above still sounds greek or latin, this is the second example:- The message can be found, here:- http://forum.geomancy.net/phpforum/article.php?bid=2&fid=1&mid=24431&new= Partial extract from the above link:- 6.1. Again, I had quoted another example:- The senario is like this:- This man walks into a 24 hour Accident and Emergency clinic. He immediately by-pass the triage (mursing diagnostic questions and check-up or screening by a nurse). He enters the doctors room: "Doctor, what iswrong with me?" I DEMAND TO KNOW WHAT IS WRONG WITH ME??? The Doctorsaid to him "I won't know! Youdid not even go thru the screening. You are being unreasonable to ask me what is wrong with you. Without even me looking at your case file, blood tests and or x-ray information. " GET THE HELL OUT OF MY ROOM! And be reasonable! Go now.. and get a number and wait foryour turn!

1. It is highly unusual for three "normal" sized rooms to straddle the north compass direction. Usually at most two rooms are affected. 2. These are some of the considerations:- 2.1Are there any windows in these rooms? Yes/No? 2.1 Even if there are windows, are there any that are larger? 2.3 Even if we do have windows, are they opened all (most) of the time? If the window(s) are not opened, for example, seldom if ever opened, then qi will often not flow. So no issue - no need for a cure. 2.4 Are any of these rooms occupied or unoccupied? If unoccupied, or not a bedroom, then no need to place any cures. 3. If these are not bedrooms, then one may consider a wind chime strategically placed e.g. in the middle room (if there is such a room) Saudi C. wrote: the 5 yellows are in the north this year. i haev three rooms falling in north. does this mean that i woudl have to place cures for 5 yellows in all three rooms. Quote: also with 5 yellows in the north, can i have a yang water feature in the one of the rooms in the north. 4. Frankly, currently, I won't know. If you know how to draw a Flying Star chart, then you can check whether that sector benefits a water position or not. In addition, you should check whether the breadwinner's ba zi can "accept" a water feature. For example, if the breadwinner is a weak fire or a strong water person, then, unless this is a water wealth location such as water star #8 or water star #1, then better exercise caution. 5. Otherwise, without further information obtain from say the Flying Star (birth chart of the home) then, sorry you have to do Trial and error Feng Shui. 5.1 For example, in an earliermessage, the user "insists" that I tell him whether it is good to have a water feature in his home for marriage and .... ". I have given the example of modern cars. Where even you open the bonnet of the car, one cannot tell what is the problem! 5.2 For modern cars especially continental cars, you need a diagnostic computer cum software torun a diagnostic! Thus, trying to squeeze an answer is unacceptable. I really won't know. Such persons have to be reasonable. 6. In another recent forum message. Another user, wants or MUST know the answer. 6.1. Quote: i have an attached living and dinign room. can i place two sets of fuk luk sau there - one in the living room part and the other in the dinign room. There is nothing magical about the Fu Lu Shou figurines. For many Chinese, they only have ONE set. And often, it is placing "facing" the owners when they sit. For example, quite often you see a set placed at the living room display cabinet ... facing one when one sees TV. For the Chinese, we do, mostly landed property owners may have ONE set of Fu Lu Shou facing the dining table. As usually more to do with it there as the wall is the furthes to the living room and this wall seems more like a "mountain support". But to have TWO sets.... hmmm.. only to say that many Chinese homes only display ONE set.

1. I never driven a Japanese car. But, all my conti cars e.g. BMW, (new ones), should there be a fault, what happens? 2. The Authorised Agent (AD), will plug in a db cable and connect it to their "CLIPs" diagnostic software. And it will flag error codes and even point out what is at fault. 3. For many of new cars, can you just open the bonnet of the car and troubleshoot the problem? When I open my BMW, I can't even recognise some of the "unusual parts". And for modern cars, be it Mercedes, Renault etc.. many AD have to depend on such a connection and software for diagnostic. 4. In Feng Shui, we use the equivalent of the Flying Star Feng Shui. And if you read my last message clearly, if it sounds Greek to you, then, too bad. 5. Here, you have to "jolly well" apply Trial and error "whatever" Feng Shui. Like the above example,I don't even know for example what is the "error" code or "acceptable" code at the sector your aquarium is. 6. Honestly, therefore, it is as good as throwing a dice 50-50? Frankly, I won't know.

In my opinion, if it is a of "normal" size, home air purifier, this should not be an issue. Quote: Theresa K. wrote: Will it be alright to put a water ( air purifier) in a bedroom ? However I am not sleeping in that room.

1. Please note that this is a Free GENERAL Advice forum, and not a specific "Do it for you" type of forum. Anonymous wrote: 1)How can i place my stove, microwave, sink & washing machine & fridge? Most recent forum message(s) have some guidelines. Which can be found, here:- http://wiki.geomancy.net/wiki/Kitchen_Stove_%26_More Quote: Anonymous wrote: 2) Is it true that one shld avoid placing the fridgenear the entrance of the kitchen? e.g once you enter the kitchen you will see the fridge In this case, many HDB flats and even condos and even landed property may have problems placing the fridge! Given that most kitchens have limited space, such questions are like " Easy or clever to talk" but can you find an alternative solution. It would be worse-off, if the toilet door faces the fridge! Some resources can be found, here:- http://wiki.geomancy.net/wiki/Kitchen_Door_Is_Facing_A_Bathroom_Door Again, we have to be practical, it is unlike a stove or an oven facing a bedroom door. Here, it is considered not auspicious to have an oven facing the door to a person's bedroom. But for a fridge, so long as any fridge magnet does not symbolise any sword or sharp objects, a fridge is considered as a metal element. And if a home or kitchen, needs metal element, then it is better. Quote: Anonymous wrote: 2) Is ittrue that one shld avoid placing the stove below a sewarage pipe? Yes, this is true! For the simple reason, based on Commonsense approach to Feng Shui:- Should the pipe burst, all the "nutrients" from the sewerage pipe would pour down to the lovely stove. The standard practise for many Feng Shui practitioners is that if really the stove is below such a pipe, a hulu is hung below the pipe (concealed). Please note that other questions are too specific to your unit. And again this is not a personal Feng Shui consultation service. You are free to go and find any Feng Shui Master to do an audit for your home.

Star 1 is suppose to be a good star. If it is the water star, then often, opening the main door would be great. If it is a mountain star 1, then, it is also good but main door need not be opened (all the time) to activate it.

1. In my opinion, you have to weigh what I had mentioned earlier, such as:- 1.1. Sitting and Facing direction of stove to the female "boss" of the home 1.2. Sector in which the stove is in. 1.3. And other points that I had mentioned earlier on. 2. Traditionally, in the past, often the sink would "sit" higher than the stove. For example, the height of the stove is often at 34 inches while the sink is higher or greater than 34 inches to not more than 35 inches. This will coincide with the auspicious measurements found on the Feng Shui ruler. 3. However, in modern times (especially) in Singapore, where there are already more than 2,000 condos x at least 200 units on average. Many of these or all condo kitchen cabinets are all levelled where the sink and stove are on the same height e.g. 34 inches. Kitchen cabinet width is always a standard Feng Shui ruler auspicious length of 2 feet depth. 4. As mentioned, in an earlier message, the fridge should be considered as belonging to the metal element. Thus, some Feng Shui pracitioners felt that if the home e.g. kitchen need more "metal" element, the bigger the fridge is. (This is distinct from the colour of a fridge). Thus normal fridge that are covered in brush steel or white or off-white should be considered as belonging to the metal element. Unless of course you have an unusual colour such as red, then the colour will represent more often the fridge. 5. As your washing machine seems to be the top loading, more the better since, the stove does not really "meet" water when it is pumped up for washing clothes. Otherwise, quite alot of the material of the washing machine is "metallic". Even hard carbolite plastic may be considered as belonging to the metal element. 6. Under the Five Elements concept, especially your kind of washing machine should be overall considered as belonging to the metal element. And fire (stove) can burn or melt metal (washing machine) thus acceptable. 7. It is the other issues like, being unfortunate if the washing machine is found to occupy say the water wealth (Flying Star water star #8). Turning on the washing machine inadvertently, would ruffle the water wealth star. 8. It is this factor, that is more of a concern than say the "artificial" concern of stove facing a washing machine. Often this can be lived with since, you had mentioned that your kitchen is small and thre is really no way one can re-locate the washing machine! 9. Thus in practising Feng Shui, if one cannot really do much in a kitchen then try to "maximise luck" from elsewhere in a home! 10. There are many key success factors in Feng Shui and one of them has to do with:- http://wiki.geomancy.net/wiki/The_Concept_of_Maximizing_Marks P.S. In my opinion, many of the european brand of washing machines e.g. those side loading should also not pose a problem as the glass opening is often below the stove hobs. Furthermore, some even stack a dryer on this washing machine!

Even GAY couples... have a distinctive role to play in a home One has to be YANG, the other has to be YIN. One controls all the finances, the other.... is just but a han pecked "Husband" Is your life same as this two couples? Advice for MAN: Make sure your next home's kitchen is TINY! Advise for FEMALE: Go get a home with both a WET and DRY Kitchen! (But avoid TWO STOVES will do!)
-
1. Often we hear our wifes say "Our kitchen is so small". 2. The Feng Shui Smart Husband would openly say "Yeah, what a pity!". But in his heart, he will be laughing away towards zanadu! 3. This is because under the Shapes and Forms Feng Shui, size matters. For example, if one's living room is overly large over the rest of the home, then, it is said that the male breadwinner would be over-assertive. 4. Here, under Shapes and Forms Feng Shui, if your husband were to read this, it would make his day! Since your kitchen is so tiny! 5. Thus, instead of the lady of the house becoming "the Minister of Finance" of a home; while the husband suppose to be the Minister without portfolio, he has a chance to redeem himself! As your kitchen is tiny, you are no longer or cannot pull his ear, anymore! Phew! 6. For info, this may not be true, if your Zheng Guan or Authority under the ba zi is much higher than his. 6.1 For example in this sample ba zi report of a female, Her Ten Deities and Key Characteristics Chart shows her authority or Zheng Guan as 2. And if say the husband's Zheng Guan is less than 2 e.g. 0, then you can still be the reining "Minister of Finance" and he without the portfolio.... Please see attachment circled in RED.

1. Check to see if the kitchen especially the stove is not at the NW compass direction: as this is known as "fire at heaven's gate". 2. NW trigram belongs to the male head of the house. And it also represents Heaven Luck. 3. General Compass School concept:- 3.1 Kitchen located at South (fire) sector of a home If so, no issue with a stove facing a water position. Considered as enough fire in the kitchen thus even if the stove face a "water" position, still sustainable. 3.2 Kitchen located at north (water) sector Stove already in a "cold" location and facing a water position is even more adverse. 4. The Five Elements concept: Contrary to popular beliefs:- 4.1. Many felt or thought that a fridge is considered as a water element. However, many professional FS practitioners felt that it should be considered as a Metal element. Thus, if the kitchen needs more metal, a larger fridge is a better choice! 5. Think about it: 5.1. What do you think the washing machine - element is? So if the English name has washing or "water" in it, does it necessarily mean that the washing machine belongs (or totally belongs to the water element?) 5.2 In addition, there are generally two "types of washing machine". The one in the picture is the top loading "normally" the Japanese (Korean) type of washing machine. 5.3 There is also the side loading (with glass window) European - Italian, French and other Europe country type of washing machine. So weigh all these carefully. 6. More importantly, the location where the washing machine sits is also critical for both health and wealth (welfare) in a home. And even things like the dustbin location is critical. Put on your thinking caps and start to imagine.... now...

1. The stove is suppose to be the domain of the lady of the house (apartment). 2. It is important to understand the sitting and facing direction of a stove. And whether it is suitable to the lady of the house. 3. In general, between a three hob or four hob stove, often the four hob stove is a better option. 4. Attachment shows illustration to find out whether a stove positon suits the lady of the house or not.
