1. In my opinion this has more to do with a stigma than Feng Shui as almost every single thing is often "pushed" to it. 2. For example, the main common sense reason as to why it is inauspicious is that of privacy. As common sense says either often one has to momentarily loiter at the lift lobby for a while until the lift door opens. 3. A tendency of human nature is to gaze one's eyes at our surroundings especially if a unit's front door is opened. How often many of us would peer curiously into a home... see it's decor and or see what activity is happening within? Having a dinner and dining table in full view etc.... 4. Thus all these sums to one word: Privacy or lack of it if one's front door is opened. Or that because of this, some who would like to have the front door left open to make the home airy.. now.. have to think twice or thrice about it. 5. Often some architects try to avoid having a front door facing a lift opening is because, there is a higher incidence of a fire engulfing a home than vice-versa. Which may result in smoke engulfing the lift lobby area or flow into the lift air-well and as well as into the lift. 5.1. Good that it is mandatory that front doors facing a lift or near to one has at least a 1/2 hour fire rating. 6. As one can see, all these are really purely common sense. 7. But when it comes to a potential resale of the unit, some may get low-ball offers or rejected because of or especially that of Para 3. Thus no amount of convincing can sway some that this has merely to do with a stigma of sorts. And really, really nothing whatsoever to do with Feng Shui.

Why Sales/Marketing belongs to fire element?
Cecil Lee replied to myfs_143558's topic in Five Element Cures (Wu Xing)
Frankly, there is no right or wrong answers. For example, this has more to do with one’s job function. What is the element of a CEO? Just because this person is in charge of things like Finance Dept (Metal), Sales & Marketing (Fire) etc. One has to look at this person’s core job function. That of your GROW the company. Thus the main element is WOOD. If one’s job in an Advertising agency is for example a Google sales representative or reseller of it’s advert, then this is under the Fire element. But, if the core job function is to come up with CREATIVE ADS, then it is classified as the Water element. Tell me, does this makes sense? A CEO of an Advertising agency, can instead be classified as a WOOD element. In my opinion, yours is most likely that of a Water element. If one had studied the field of Strategic Management and the works of Professor Michael Porter (Harvard); there is such a thing as 1. The Industry one is in. 2.A person’s job description. Thus there is such a thing as the industry eg. Banking = Finance. And if one is a teller person in this Bank. His/her job is FINANCE - Earth element. so what’s wrong ... go ponder over this. +++ In Summary There are no definitive right or wrong answers to this question. It all depends on the individual's job function. For instance, the primary responsibility of a CEO is to grow the company, making the main element associated with this role WOOD. Similarly, a Google sales representative in an Advertising agency falls under the Fire element due to their focus on sales and marketing. On the other hand, those responsible for creating creative ads are classified under the Water element. It is essential to consider the core job function when determining the elemental classification. In the case of a CEO in an Advertising agency, they could be categorized as a WOOD element. Based on my assessment, your elemental classification is most likely that of Water. By studying Strategic Management and the principles of Professor Michael Porter from Harvard, one can understand the significance of the industry and job description in determining elemental associations. For example, working as a teller in a bank would align with the Earth element due to the focus on finance. Take some time to reflect on these concepts and see how they resonate with you. -
From a traditional perspective, it may be considered a threat. However, I personally do not believe it poses a significant risk.

To correct bad fengshui of backyard facing uphill slope
Cecil Lee replied to exprezo's topic in General Help
In my opinion, from your sole photo, looks good. Since it seldom rains + under Shapes & Forms Feng Shui, the “back” (neighbour’s) is higher than your property. Frankly, it seems, no need to do anything else. -
