  1. If you have the time, you can read this past article:- http://forum.geomancy.net/phpforum/article.php?bid=2&fid=1&mid=23968&new More:- http://forum.geomancy.net/phpforum/article.php?bid=2&fid=7&mid=23896&new=%3EHouse%20Hunting%20:%20A%20Lot%20PositiOn%20-%20%3Cem%3EFeng%20Shui%3C/em
  2. These are some considerations: 1. Using the eye-ball method: Here, it is based on experience to roughly have a feel for the centre-of-gravity of the unit. 1.1. Thus, in my opinion, the centre-of-gravity could most likely be close to the attachment. 1.2. In such a layout plan, there will surely be things like : protusion and missing areas. 1.3. From past experience, many of us always visualise (in many instances) only the missing areas. But often, will not imagine that there are also protusions. 2. A more accurate method is to photo-copy the layout; cut out the outline; paste it on a cardboard; cut-out-the outline and balance it on a pin. When the pin balances, this should be the centre-of-gravity. 3. Did you get something like what I had illustrated? This is where roughly the missing area equals the protusion.
  3. Further to what I had mentioned, usually or often the person who initiates the black magic is someone close to the victim. (Sometimes, some people are not even aware that they are sleeping beside or rather with their enemy) For example, it could be a jealous partner, a partner trying to control or change the vicitmor someone for what ever reason is seeking revenge etc... The black magic person main aim is to make $$$$. And often, one should look at one's own backyard. As 70 percent of the time; the initiator is often the person close to or formerly close to the victim. The initiator is called the DOG; as like a dog, he/she will follow the instructions of the black magic practitioner to a "T". Thus if the black magic practitioner asks the DOG to eat shit; he/she will certainly eat-shit no questions asked. And with often with "insider" help; therefore, as I mentioned; don't even need one's time of birth (no less their DD/MM/YYYY). As the alternative can be the victim's personal posession or even not necessarily. As other methods include giving a potion to the victim etc....
  4. These are some considerations: 1. Take for example a tiny red dot : Singapore. (Many countries also have day-light saving hours) 2. Even in Singapore's history, if we really look or dwell deeper into the "recorded" birth-timing; one will be amazed at the varied range of "birth-timing". 3. For example, many of us base our birth-time on our birth-certificate. And for a country like Singapore, I am aware that birth-timing even in those born in the 1930's are recorded on their birth-cert. 3.1. ?Standard Time? in Use in Singapore Period in use Time offset from GMT Reference Meridian Name of Time (unofficial) Until 1905 May 31 + 6hr 55m 25s 103 51 16 E Singapore Mean Time ====================================================== 1905 Jun 01 - 1932 Dec 31 + 7hr 00m 00s 105 00 00 E Standard Zone Time 1933 Jan 01 - 1941 Aug 31 + 7hr 20m 00s 110 00 00 E Daylight Saving Time 1941 Sep 01 - 1942 Feb 15 + 7hr 30m 00s 112 30 00 E Daylight Saving Time 1942 Feb 16 - 1945 Sep 12 + 9hr 00m 00s 135 00 00 E Tokyo Standard Time @ 1945 Sep 13 - 1981 Dec 31 + 7hr 30m 00s 112 30 00 E DST/MST/SST # @ 1982 Jan 01 - Present + 8hr 00m 00s 120 00 00 E Singapore Standard Time Source and credit: http://www.math.nus.edu.sg/aslaksen/teaching/timezone.html 4. Why do I bring this up? 4.1. In the past, in Singapore, many births especially those born in rural Singapore; often register their birth-dates (and timing) some even a few weeks later at a municipal office. 4.2. Thus, especially for an orphan or even those whose parents don't disclose their actual birth-dates; their ba zi is as good as inaccurate even if this is revealed to a bomoh (black magic) person. 4.3. And common sense says that even in a tiny red dot (Singapore); even if someone else wants to know or the person accidentally reveals his/her birth date and especially timing; it can be inaccurate. 5. Contrary to misconception: black magic practitioners have many tools in their "dirty black bag". 5.1. Thus, do you think that even without revealing one's DD/MM/YYY/HHHH; such black magic practitioners can even go ahead and "Do it". 5.2. Black magic practitioners use many tools or various arsenals to place black magic without the need of a birth-date or even time of birth: 5.2.1 Like some CSI shows; they do swaps of a glass that a person slips from. Black magic practitioners don't use this; but rather, some get hold of things like the "victim's hair or blood". and/or 5.2.2 In relationships; a jealous wife may be tasked to get their partner to drink a potion and/or 5.2.3 Burn some charm and mix these into a drink and/or 5.2.4 Some black magic persons may even cultivate or control some evil spirits : and as the master, task these spirits to do their work for them. 6. Thus as I mentioned above, many of the above activities do not need (contrary to popular belief) one's birth date and time. As birth date and time as shown above, even if one is genuine; may be gotten wrongly. 7. For example, I don't believe that black magic practitioners are so educated nor use computing power nor a table or chart to re-calculate someone's birth timing accordingly. And many large countries have day-light saving hours... and one cannot expect the black magic person to be so conversant with the history of it. 8. The morale of the story is: If someone wants to place black magic on another; there are other alternatives as one's DD/MM/YYY/HHHH may not be 100 percent accurate. 8.1. And frankly, why should they be too concerned about your exact birth date? It is not like these black magic practitioners can go back in-time to change the course of history. What they care of is to "fix" the victim in the present. 9. If one is still so worried about giving one's time of birth than give it in the standard two hour range of the Chinese zodiac system e.g. 1 - 3; 3 - 5; 5 - 7; 7 - 9; 9 - 11 and then loop back to 1 -3 (either AM or PM). Thus one may give the birth-date as 1pm to 3pm instead of 1.39pm etc....
  5. Not to long ago; even in the 1930's to as late as 1960's; a marriage broker may recommend a wife. And sometimes, the potential (rich) parents-in-law; would want to know what theyare "purchasing" for their son. More importantly, the girl would be asked to stand-up. And in particular; the bride-to-be's mother-in-law would inspect the girl's features. She would start to look at the legs andknees for any "deformaties" or "irregularities"and at the ball joint area. She will then look at the girl's hip and facial features. Howis the girl's nose? sharp or flat shaped; ears; cheeks: high or low. All for the sake that if her son were to marry the girl; her future grand children would not look ugly (assuming that in the first place; her son is a perfect specimen, himself)... The saying goes: Beauty is in the eyes of the beholder... This attached photos = figurine is considered "prosperous" and in some societies viewed as excellent ... as it implies a good visible healty reproduction system as this girl has large hips...
  6. These are some considerations: 1. It has more to do with common sense. And Feng Shui "just" pick it up. 2. There are many homes with a toilet directly above a kitchen. 3. But what is more concerned is that especially the sewerage pipe if possible should not be directly above a stove or any food preparation area or places where we place e.g. drinking water. 4. The reason is obvious, if the sewerage pipe is leaking; gravity does it job. 5. Frankly, there are some homes that no-choice have a sewerage pipe above the stove. The attachment illustrates how a hulu or bottle gourd is used (placed) symbolically between the sewerage pipes and stove. 6. Many modern homes take extra precaution by "waterproofing" the entire toilet floor thus highly unlikely a leak would occur at any of these areas other than e.g. the above sewerage pipe which has a characteristic U shape. 7. Thus between having a sewerage pipe directly above a stove or a sink or shower area above the stove; the later would be far better than the sewerage piping. 8. Thus what you mentioned is nothing new... Just ponder over the above... Of course, far better if the above does not exist. 9. In a practical stand-point; there are often really no perfect homes. Even if we so choose to built a home from scratch, there are often scarifices to be made.
  7. These are some considerations: a. Frankly, from a micro-level one of the basis is to compare the designs to determine which element it belongs to. (http://talk.geomancy.net ) b. In general: 1 = metal element; 2 = earth element; 3 = wood; 4 = water (but due to jaggered edges should be avoided). c. Thus designs with stars or pointed diamond shapes - if doubt avoid such wall papers. d. Neutral wall papers are those in the examples: 5 and 6. Or those grainly rock-wall rough creased designs. e. In addition, the colour of the wall paper should also be considered in addition to the design. f. Furthermore, there is a purpose for this saying : there are just "too many indian chiefs". Thus, as there are many geomancers, there are many varied opinions on such issues. This line is recently made famous by a Singapore Deputy Minister: WHAT DO YOU THINK?
  8. These are some considerations: 1. Based on Shapes and Forms Feng Shui, generally, a "hill" behind a home is acceptable. Much like the concept of a tortise or solid back behind the house. 1.1. In common sense Feng Shui, a hill or solid back behind the house often implies that unlike a home with a sloping back; a home with sloping back in some circumstances could result in soil erosion; and in a heavy rain, sometimes, it may result in a landslide and affect the home. 2. However, in some densely packed area or even in your new home; if this hill (upward sloping in backyard) affects or restricts the wind flow; into the home; then this can affect "good" Feng Shui. 3. As I had often mentioned: the forms determine STARS and the stars affect the Feng Shui of the home. 3.1 Here, once above Para 1 to 2 has been considered; the Flying (STARS) is plotted and analysed. 3.2 The Flying Star Feng Shui has such thing as "Mountain" and "Water" stars and these are looked at to see if one can either tap good qi or try to neutralise sha qi (bad qi). For example, where are the current prosperity wealth stars Mountain#8 and Water#8. As this is based on the "birth-date" of a home. 4. Thus your wondering "is this house have good Feng Shui" has to be further looked into using holistic Feng Shui that utilises Shapes and Forms (which is explained under Para 1 to 2) and also looking at the STARS (not the stars in the sky) but rather stars that can Fly a.k.a. Flying Star Feng Shui. 5. In general, if it is too much of a hassle to apply Para 3; at least, most likely for now; the Shapes and Forms seems (generally) OK. Other than whether, there is sufficient air-flow.
  9. 1. Chinese are reknown for gaming. 2. During the Chinese 7th month, some gamblers even requests for a specific lottery (4-digit) number to come up... 3. In this case, did you spot a 4-digit lottery number? Did you see the number pasted in red on the wall? Above the Tiger and Dragon god? What number is it? 2xxx ?
  10. 1. Very often, many clients would asked me where should they or rather; where should they NOT hang "sensitive" photos (husband & wife wedding photos) and family portaits? 2. Again, one should think about whether is it related to common sense or not? 3. For example, if one is living on the ground floor and close to the "ground". 4. In the attached photo; of course, I merely use an outdated Iphone 4 with low resolution; and yet, I am able to take a photo of a 2nd storey apartment room. And if one can see, there are some pictures / photos hanging on the wall. 5. Thus, if one is living close to the ground and often, many don't fully close their windows; In such a situation, avoid hanging sensitive photos / portaits of family and loved ones ... to avoid someone else recognising us or our children... 6. Sometimes, an apartment is facing another neighbouring block (in close proximity). Hanging a sensitive photo/portait that allows others to see it.. is again... not ideal... and has more to do with common sense than Feng Shui. 7. Lots of times; I had mentioned: because of common sense.. that is why some relate it as a Feng Shui no no... It should be the other way around...
  11. In the past, many look at the Feng Shui of a home after they purchased it. The trend today is "Can or cannot buy" before I booked my home (apartment or landed property). The smart ones often go for the, latter... (see Feng Shui - can or cannot buy) before commiting. Fernvale Riverbow, already allocated and this resource is released... for info...
  12. 1. This shop is currently for rent. 2. The shop front is directly facing the main entrance passage way. And is considered as too strong a sha qi....
  13. In Interior Design, many Chinese prefer not to use circle or circular designs for just anything e.g. cabinet doors; feature walls and even false ceilings with "holes" in it... P.S. Luckliy, this design is in a public toilet (Depot Heights Shopping Complex)
  14. Nowadays, Singapore Post Office (SingPost) don't deliver mails on Saturdays. And on occasions, I have encountered posting ordinary mails and the other party claimed that they did not receive it especially when posted in such letter boxes all over Singapore. Now I get! To me such, I have never ever seen such a signage placed so visible on a letter box, before (ever!) Is the message on top of the box trying to imply something? Please read between the lines....
  15. In my opinion, the 7th month thing is up to individuals. The major concern are situations where: 1. One becomes the owner of a new / resale home and goes in on the first time. Some are either supertitious or want to play safe and not open the door as inadvertenly allowing a "curious" entity to follow them into their new home. This sort of thing. 2. Maybe once in a blue moon, I receive a request for an advice on new job go to work in 7th month. 3. Frankly, unless your job is very interesting; no "entity" would be bothered to dress up and follow a person to work even in the 7th month. So far, have not heard of any ill effects of such thing. 4. Maybe move in to new office.. but frankly, not that crucial thus not a main issue.
  16. This factory unit owner placed a wooden qi lin with a small convex mirror above it's head. Frankly, any convex mirror will do. As most know, convex mirror is used to "deflect" sha qi. In this example, this industrial unit's main entrance door is facing an open passage way...
  17. Location: Bedok Reservoir Village, Block 744 Bedok Reservoir Road in August of 2012 1. Key: filth; disgustingly dirty 2. Today, I was at a coffee-shop in Bedok Reservoir Road. 3. In order to enter the toilet area, one had to literally pass through a set of curtain screens. 4. I looked at the two curtain screens. And visually, they are pretty dirty. Just by the looks alone. 5. Such curtain screens are a depository of some of the nasties germs around. 6. And to know, that parts of one's body has to come into contact with it is scary! Imagine one's face contact it; our protective layer of oil on our face will be breached.. 6.1. Just look at the cloth screen.. so dirty.. Yucks! 7. Our computer keyboard is pretty dirty; just imagine unwashed hands or those who use the toilet did not wash their hands after using the WC etc.. 8. Germs multiply very fast. And it is not like these curtains are washed daily or even weekly at all. Appended by Cecil in 2017: Good news! I last visited this coffeeshop 5 years later.. and the entire coffeeshop was renovated.. and no more such nasty curtain screens. Simple opening leading in/out of the toilet. K.I.S.S. = Keep it simple stupid Update: In 2020 and onwards, this coffee shop has had extensive renovations. And all these are long gone. LOL
  18. As a general rule of thumb: if in doubt (why take unnecessary risks - if any); and if there are alternatives; do choose the OTHER alternative instead of what you wrote, below.
  19. If you are applying Flying Star:- 1. the Mountain Star #9 with Water Star #7 in general is not a major issue. Unless one further takes into consideration base or palace star #2. 2. Since you are looking at the "stars"; you should also check where #2 and #5 are in relation to your home. 3. For example, are annual #2 and #5's found in your dad's bedroom and/or frontage or any other sectors.....
  20. Again, another pair of Qi Lin (chi lin) hung on entrance pillars. Notice, below one of the Qi Lin, the owner had placed a "car rear view mirror" blind spot mirror (conVEX) facing a sha qi across the road.
  21. Often, one has an odd wall or a focal point (space) but do not know how to decorate it? Well, Chinese painting(s) of flowers will brighten that wall; without having need to change real flowers on a daily basis nor have the headache of how to clean those articifical flowers or throw them away?
  22. A painting of the 8 immortals (deities) crossing the sea... Option the 8 immortals are also deplicted on Chinese vases...
